No microwave in the room
The lobby/ entry is fabulous..however the rooms are very small. We had 3 people and it seemed the room was not updated at all. Considering all the updates that were done to the lobby...none done to the rooms? Come on.
Staff was very friendly and communicating and location was absolutely perfect
Happened to have a terrible view over the roof.
Great staff, great amenities, great location.
No complaints.
We will def be back! Location was great and staff was amazing
What a great hotel! I attended a dance competition here, and the rooms were gorgeous, comfortable and SPOTLESS when I walked in! During down time, walking to downtown shopping and restaurants was super easy, and during the summer months, there is a Friday night block party with live music right outside in the hotel courtyard! We had a great time and looking forward to going back!
Great spot to stay at the beginning of main street! Really enjoyed the amenities and breakfast buffet at Roots restaurant.
The hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. Really liked staying there because it was right on Main . Would highly recommend staying here.
The room was clean and comfortable.
Bathrooms are tight and toilet was a little lower than expected.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We love the location downtown. We love the inside of the hotel, lots of spaces to relax.
Location was ideal to shopping downtown and Bon Secours Wellness Arena
Rafael and the team did an amazing job. Customer service was top notch, love the location of the hotel and a variety of things within walking distance. Highly recommend staying here.
We had a wonderful experience staying at one of our favorite hotels in Greenville! Rafael who is the front office Supervisor, was very accommodating, and made sure our stay was as pleasant as always! Stephanie also arranged for us to have a room on a high floor! Customer Service here is truly top notch! See you again soon!
Our Family hosted it's Green-White Family Reunion in downtown Greenville July 3026. Our hotel stay went really well. My bed felt like a cloud (in my mind), food was good and the entertainment outside the hotel on Main Street was top tier.
Location
Unclear pool closing time. Should have a time that it closesjust as they have a time it opens. Sunset is subjective
Reception folks helpful, all staff acknowledged us and chatted pleasantly, young lady at coffee shop delightful. Outdoor pool a bonus!
Nasty trash at elevator remained there for 2 days TV useless without casting to my phone which was an ordeal. So I gave up. One of my pleasures is a chilly hotel room, propped up in bed watching tv. The other stations were awful.
Everyone on the staff was very accommodating and nice. Great people and atmosphere

Location was great.
There were too many dogs allowed into the facility and it made our stay very uncomfortable, disappointing and definitely not recommending to my family and friends. The worst part was seeing a bird flying around the breakfast buffet in the Roost restaurant. That was absolutely disgusting and the food inspector would have shutdown the restaurant for that activity. I was expecting a lot more from this hotel for the money we paid.
We booked this hotel expecting a four-star experience for my birthday weekend and the 4th of July. Instead, we found a property that can’t seem to handle the basics. The first impression set the tone. Trash was left sitting by the elevator, and a smashed waffle remained on the floor for three consecutive days and counting without anyone bothering to clean it up. If a mess in one of the hotel’s busiest areas can sit untouched for days, it doesn’t inspire confidence in what guests can’t see. The pool was surprisingly difficult to find, and once we finally did, the disappointment continued. There wasn’t a single umbrella or shade poolside to escape the sun. The metal edging around the pool became dangerously hot, making it uncomfortable—and potentially unsafe—to walk around barefoot. For a hotel that presumably expects guests to spend time poolside, this seemed like an astonishing oversight. No F&B service either. A common expectation at a 4-star hotel. Even the advertised conveniences fell short. The on-site coffee shop was closed all day on the Fourth of July—not just for part of the afternoon, but for the entire holiday. Guests looking for a morning coffee or a quick bite had no option on the property and were simply out of luck. Closing one of the few guest amenities on a major holiday, when occupancy is likely at its highest, speaks volumes about the hotel’s priorities. Then came the rooms. The first room assigned to us had a broken deadbolt, and the door was just propped open because it wouldn’t secure properly. That’s not an inconvenience—it’s a basic safety issue. After reporting it, we were moved to an apology room. Unfortunately, the replacement was almost as baffling. A structural pillar was actually located inside the room, blocking the middle of the window. It wasn’t outside obstructing the view—the column literally occupied part of the room itself. The bathroom appeared to have been designed without anyone ever using it. The toilet sat so close to the bathtub that it felt cramped and awkward, while the toilet paper holder was positioned so far away that even two adults over five feet tall couldn’t reach it without lifting up and leaning. It’s difficult to believe anyone tested this layout before approving it. Room never got cool despite polar blasts in the hallways. Perhaps the most disappointing part of the stay was the staff’s attitude. None of these issues seemed to surprise anyone. The reactions suggested they were already aware of the property’s shortcomings and had simply accepted them as normal rather than addressing them. A four-star hotel should offer attention to detail, pride in maintenance, and an experience that feels polished. This property delivered none of those things. It wasn’t one isolated problem—it was a pattern of neglect, poor design, deferred maintenance, and a lack of urgency from the people responsible for fixing it. This hotel may have four stars on paper, but will never earn them without a head to toe overhaul.
The Hotel felt very worn. The wallpaper was peeling, ac was loud, all furniture was scratched up. The carpet looked dirty. We were a bit disappointed in the overall condition
Horrible ac. Set on 75, took from 5:30p until 3am to reach 70. Yes it was in 80s outside but still to cool off a small room it should not take that long. Subpar service at check in with long wait. Hallway exterior was hot and needs updating.
I really wanted to like this property. Positives: the location is fantastic on Main Street, it’s about .4 miles to the park. Many wonderful eateries around. The staff is friendly and fantastic! The lobby is beautiful. The bed is comfortable. Cons: our pillows look like they’ve seen better days and they are flat as pancakes. We’ve set the temp in our room to 66F but the AC temp won’t go below 70F. My biggest pet peeve is the cleanliness of the common areas. Trash, crumbs and clumps of hair have been on floor in front of the elevator since yesterday. Additionally as related in other reviews the room layout is strange. BUT the bathroom is downright weird. There is one tiny hanger for shower towels. I had to put my towel over the door. The toilet paper is 2.5 feet from the toilet…it’s a stretch! And maybe I’m spoiled by Marriott and Hilton BUT the World of Hyatt charges you $6 a bottle for water in your room. At this price point you can provide free water in the rooms.
Location is great, but the air conditioning in our room was poor. It was always way cooler in the hallways. Temp would not fall lower than 70°-73° with a box fan in our room.
bed was good, clean
was told I would have a connecting room with family, but did not get it and was on opposite ends of the hall. AC did not cool the room below 73 until I walked down to desk (since no phone response) and they told me to set on high and set to 64. By the mid of the night it had cooled to 68
Faucet wasn’t fixed after three calls. Room stayed at 74 degrees even though I had it set at 65. Bitten by a spider overnight. $6 for a bottle of water. No refrigerator.
The Room was clean and tidy. The Hotel itself was large and beautiful. But there were very little options for Breakfast for Gluten Free and lower sugar diets. No food fridges in the room. The fridge clearly stated they aren’t meant for food. Only drinks. No microwaves in the room. One microwave at the end of the hall by the ice machine. Parking is in the garage and a pretty far walk. Otherwise the hotel is right downtown near a lot of shopping and other restaurants that were mostly closed on Sundays. Staff were nice. When there is a conference, getting an elevator was an issue. Long lines. No stairs available to Guests.
Fine. The hotel was nice, but I prefer a hotel that includes breakfast. The hallways were freezing! Side of beef freezing.
Location
The bathrooms need fresh caulking and shower walls needs a good scrubbing down. Down blankets needs to be replaced, you literally can see through them
Awful hotel. There was no AC, room did not get below 74 degrees. The outlets didn’t work, my wife couldn’t dry her hair which was my problem and the hotel staff was zero help. The sheets were nasty, stains on carpet, and took them all day and 5+ calls to drop off more towels
Rooms are old but most importantly, beastly hot. Temp controlled. The hallways are extremely cool but once you hit your room, the Sahara desert appears. Nights were just impossible. This is the South with high humidity and heat. Shower spits at you…..no pressure whatsoever and bonus was the holes in my sheets, which did not even fit the bed. Front desk staff were clueless about basic questions. Bar was great! You will need it if you stay there.
Hotel is run down. Halls have foul smell. Room bathrooms smell like bleach. Sheets feel like sandpaper. Hotel bar closes at 10:30 PM on Friday night and has only a single bartender. Our experience was so bad, we skipped our 2nd night and booked another hotel.
Vallet staff were great.
The wall in room 736 was literally peeling away from the wall. The AC never got very cold. The bathroom was just okay. I felt like for the price, the room could have been nicer. I feel like a hotel room should be nicer than my house and it wasn’t.
Great place to relax with exceptional front desk courtesy and professionalism. I did not know what to expect, but after staying there for two nights, I am pleased.
Location
Told front desk air conditioner wasn’t working she said it was hot outside. We went to eat lunch it was few degrees hotter. I found another staff member and she immediately moved us to another room.
The hotel was representative of the Hyatt brand. The room was pleasant, yet the bathroom needed updating IMO. I would have preferred an open shower without a tub. The open lobby and atrium was impressive and the carpeted areas being quite plush. Coffee service in the morning was phenomenal yet at the same time somewhat pricey. It was nice to have daily housekeeping and the property was spotlessly maintained. I had a great stay in Greenville and will absolutely return to this property.
Great location for concert attendees.
Booked a King bed with an accessible shower for my wife who had a recent knee injury months in advance and was given two double beds with no accessible shower.
Overall, a nice stay. Great location! Friendly staff! Spacious room. However, the bathroom was extremely small! And the entryway into the room was very narrow! Hard to navigate getting in with luggage! It was a frustrating experience that will more than likely keep us from ever staying here again. Really enjoyed Greenville, SC!
From the time we showed up until the time we left, EVERYONE was absolutely AMAZING!!! I could state it enough, EVERYONE was FANTASTIC!!!!
Absolutely Nothing!!!!
Generally very good staff. Excellent valet and bell service. Excellent service at the Roost bar. Guest rooms due for an update but bathrooms good. Love the atrium design and lighting, and Roost decor. Roost opens onto Main Street. Valet parking is $15/day, I didn’t see that on the website.
I liked the location, the valet option, since we were coming and going a lot. And the space is open and feels good. Let us check in a bit early which was a big help. I know that is not always possible.
Very central on Main Street, with restaurants shops and bars near by also lots of local events right outside the doors, staff very friendly and efficient
N/A
Shout out to Perun from valet parking. Was super helpful and friendly and made parking very easy. Thanks for your help.
I love the location as it was central to downtown and very walkable everywhere for dinner and entertainment. I would go to another conference here as it was very nice and easy to get where you needed to go.
The facilities are excellent and the staff were so helpful
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was excellent
Arrived early and stayed an extra day beyond our conference to enjoy the Hyatt and Greenville. It was a really good stay, but the prior guest in our reserved room must have been a VERY heavy smoker. We had to be relocated to another smaller room, which was not smokey. Except for unexpected downgrade in room, a very nice stay with a very helpful staff.
Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Greenville on a high-demand weekend in May (weddings, graduations), so prices everywhere were jacked up. Overall a good stay. Itemization on my bill beyond the normal state sales tax: an $8.51 “Destination Fee” and a “Greenville Occupancy Tax" of $7.73. I don’t know if the latter is only for downtown hotels or encompasses the entire Greenville area. One surprise was calling the hotel directly the day prior. I explained to the rep that our flight was arriving early the next morning and asked if the hotel was completely full today. She said no, the hotel was not full, so I then asked if we could be assigned to one of those rooms currently not occupied, so that my husband and I could occupy our room upon arrival. She said she was new and needed to confirm with someone. Waited a few minutes and was then told there would be a $36 early check-in fee to check-in between 10:30-11:00 am (my estimate of arrival at the hotel.) I was frankly shocked but politely said most hotels allow you to enter early your room is ready, and thanked her for the information. She said that the hotel would be happy to hold our luggage and we could attend the local farmers market nearby that day to have something to do if we liked. Upon arrival at the hotel, we had prepaid at time of reservation, and were let into our room without any mention of an extra early check-in fee, thankfully. I sorted on all the other TripAdvisor reviews here and did not see any prior Guest mention this potential new fee. Regarding the room itself: We were fortunate to stay on the 8th floor, which is the highest floor, with a view of the Atrium which was fine. Our room was quiet, clean, and updated. After reading some of the other reviews, perhaps some of the floors are not updated, but our room was. The only quirky thing was the TV mounted on a side wall (instead of directly opposite the bed), but it had a swivel mechanism. I would say it’s not a big deal, just a personal preference to arrange the room differently. We had a great lunch outdoors at the hotel’s Roost restaurant. The food, service, and ambiance with the small fountains was very nice. We did not have time for breakfast the next day so cannot rate that meal. We did not have a rental car, so cannot comment on the parking situation. The Roost is next door to the hotel. Inside the main lobby on the second floor there is a coffee shop with a variety of beverages, breakfast items, and to-go assortment, and some casual seating.
The overall cleanliness of the room was good (not excellent). We just had some bad experiences not really related to the room itself. The hotel location is excellent if you want to experience downtown.
We returned to an outing to a lobby covered in human feces and the feces extended on down the stairs to the bar area. It was not even marked as a danger or "caution" and was not cleaned or marked for a good 20 minutes after we returned. My room overlooked the lobby, and we watched to see when it was cleaned. However, we do know that the front desk was aware of the situation as soon as we returned because we stopped to inform them of the situation and they "pointedly" made it clear they were aware! From my room we watched, and it was not marked or cleaned for approximately 20 minutes after our return. Also, I requested ADJACENT rooms. I paid over $700 for two rooms to be close to family. Instead, they were put across the hall two doors down. The adjacent room to mine was a couple who SCREAMED and Yelled at each other until 3 am. I was just about to call the front desk, but they quieted down until 7 am and then it started again! My granddaughter that stayed with me is only 8 years old and did not need to hear all that went on between the couple! It was totally unacceptable.
So clean, beautiful, had live music, location was wonderful.
There was nothing I didn’t like.
Loved the customer service and location's access to Main Street. The room and lobby are a bit dated aesthetically and aged, but the service and location made up for it.
Fantastic hotel, great building, great rooms, good location.
Great downtown location, cozy outdoor area. Spacious room, very friendly staff. Nice indoors design adds to the pleasure of staying at this hotel.
location is perfect. The amenities are perfect. The space is large they are very attentive. It is very well done and welcoming
We were in town for a boys weekend and loved the hotel. It is located on Main street and has a small pavillion with live music outside. It's extremely walkable and the lobby bar and lounge is perfect for meeting or people watching.
Overall the hotel is priced well and great location. The bathrooms could use an update. Everything was perfect but you can tell the hotel is starting to look dated in the hallways and bathrooms.
Excellent
Great looking hotel stunning building.
Very nice hotel but even better restaurant attached. If you need to stay somewhere in downtown Greenville and you're so tired and can't bother leaving - go here. Even if you want to leave - DON'T, you'll thank me later. Roost was amazing, bar was awesome, the vibes in this hotel are unmatched.
Beautiful hotel! The accommodations were great and the staff was very friendly. The Roost had a delicious breakfast! It definitely exceeded my expectations for the price and I would recommend it to anyone visiting.
The hotel was clean, had a friendly staff, and provided an overall great experience. Amazing stay! I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.
The hotel was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and accomodating. The food in the hotel was delicious and competitively priced. The location was great, close to many restaurants and shops.
Overpriced and outdated. Hallway reeked of Bacon. Room severely over deodorized. Furniture is worn and torn. If you want a room with a view of the hotel lobby this is your place. Stay somewhere else
Location was great, service was exceptional.
Everything
nothing
Terrible. We were given a key to someone else’s room then treated badly by staff. Room was dirty and very worn down! Very disappointing
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Greenville for a dance convention/competition. The location is excellent—right in downtown Greenville with plenty of restaurants, shops, and attractions within walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the bed was great. However, the overall service fell short of expectations. The front desk staff did not seem well trained. We had an issue with our room keys not working on the first day and had to wait quite a while for maintenance to come and fix the door. The on-site restaurant, Roost, was also disappointing. Service was slow, and the food was just average. One morning, my husband was seated and never greeted or attended to. For a Hyatt Regency property, we expected a much higher level of service.
I had a bad reaction to some medicine, the staff was very accommodating.
The bed could have been more comfortable.
The meal at Roost was outstanding and so was the setting and service. A wonderful dining
I paid for a king room and only got a queen bed. I told the front desk about it upon departure and they promised to follow up with me but did not.
The hotel has very friendly and helpful staff! Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean! I enjoyed my stay and will return.
The hotel was fine but dog in room beside us barked all night and woke us up again at 6:00am. When we told staff they responded with I’m sorry there is nothing we can do! They didn’t even comp breakfast or help in anyway! Very disappointed!
As stated above- the staff and allowing dogs to bark all night!
Very convenient to everything in the downtown area.
Very clean and comfortable and great staff.
The location was perfect and for the majority of my stay, the hotel was perfect. The room, however, smelled like musty cigarettes. As if someone had smoked and it was covered with an aerosol spray. The room was advertised as non-smoking. I suffer from migraines when I'm around cigarettes. This was not fresh cigarette smell, but a smell as if it had been smoked in previously for years. The room and hotel were clean, it was just the smell in the hotel room that was an issue.
This is a beautiful hotel located in downtown Greenville SC. The staff in it's entirety renders exceptional service from the front desk to the restaurant, to the coffee shop! Several shops and attractions to see in walking distance. Hyatt Regency is the perfect home away from home!
The only negative experience I had was realizing I had received several bed bug bites. Positive experience was that I had inadvertently left some shirts in the room by accident. After filing a lost item claim, the shirts were found and will be mailed to me. I was thankful for that. Overall, the experience at this hotel was good otherwise. It is in a very convenient location and in a nice, safe area. I was attending March Madness at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena and the hotel was a very easy 10-minute walk to the arena.
I was in town for a dance competition and this hotel Was perfect! There was enough space for hundreds of dancers and a st Patrick’s festival in the area going on. Very spacious and everyone was so nice.
It was by far one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve seen.
Nothing
I was in town on a business trip, and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Greenville. What an amazing hotel all around! The f&b, housekeeping and front desk teams were wonderful! The room was cozy, bed was perfect. I can’t wait until I can come back with my family to explore the city.
Honestly, my fingers are still cramped from just writing a review on their site. The number of bad decsions they made from room layout to cheaping out on soooo many things (They'll tell you they're being eco concious). You're literally paying for location. And they know it. Let me just say to give you an idea as to what to expect. The two bottles of water set out so nicely and what you assume at first glance would be complimentary. NOT! $6 a piece. That's just for starters. $25 breakfast, No matter what you order. NO luggage trolleys unless you want to tip a worker in the lobby for their help after you made the longest part of the trek from the parking garage. And NO refrigerators for your meal leftovers. Again, that's just for starters. If youhave disposable income and don't care about wasting your food leftovers after eating out at a nice restaurant since there's no place to put it. Or paying $6 for water. Or tipping for a luggage cart that only produces itself after you did the hardet part of the trip. Only to be met by a front desk clerk who barely acknowledges you. Then this hotel is perfect for you! ENJOY!
Hyatt Regency Greenville is a fabulous hotel. Beautifully kept, with a great staff. The property is a must to visit, and a short walk to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Parking is super reasonable, at adjacent lot ($10!!). A special Thank You to staff member Mitchell Dill. While stuck in a travel bind, a call to the hotel was necessary. Mr.Dill listened patiently and made the check in process for family a breeze. Other accommodations as well. Thanks again for a wonderful experience. Hyatt Regency Greenville management, please inform Mr.Dill of our gratitude.
I recently stayed at this hotel for a business trip, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing—exactly what I needed after long sessions. The room was quiet, well-appointed, and comfortable, making it easy to unwind and recharge. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, always going the extra mile to ensure a smooth stay. Dining was another highlight—the food was consistently excellent, with a variety of well-prepared options that made it easy to enjoy meals without leaving the property. What truly set this hotel apart was the beautiful scenery. Whether it was the views from my room or the surrounding grounds, everything contributed to a calm and refreshing environment. Overall, it’s an ideal choice for anyone looking to balance productivity with relaxation during a business stay. I would definitely return.
Upon arrival, I was asked by the Customer Service Representative for my card for payment, at that time the payment was declined because I had not been informed via online booking or in any documentation that there would be a $100 additional fee added for incidentals. The front desk clerk did not give me a total before attempting to run my card, and was not going to even mention the additional $100 if I had not inquired about why the card was not going through because I had put the exact amount for the total that I had been sent in the check-in invoice. I told the gentleman that this was not expected and if someone did not have the additional $100 they would not have been able to stay and we booked several months in advance for a dance competition. He brushed off my comment did not seem concerned. He just continued ask me “ma’am are you going to swipe your card again?” I did not appreciate the lack of empathy nor the hidden fee that we were told about upon running my credit card. I also selected to have a rollaway bed, and extra linens with my online reservation. I was told my this same front desk representative that the hotel did not have rollaway beds. So my daughter did not have anywhere to sleep and had to smushed in the bed with myself and husband. We were staying here for and dance convention/competition so sleeping arrangements were made bases upon this request. It was very disappointing for us and getting an adequate night sleep was impossible.
Greenville, SC Greenville has renovated the down town area to appeal to many travelers and residents alike. The hotel address is easy access to Event destinations and Main Street restaurants/galleries. The room was extraordinarily comfortable. Within walking distance of everything down town.
Location
Price hike due to event in town. Had to run water for several minutes before it got warm. Towels hanging next to toilet. Gross. No vanity in bathroom to put even a toothbrush. Just stand alone sink.
The location and atmosphere of this hotel was top notch! I highly recommend whether for work or pleasure! The room was spotless. The public (sort of) restrooms were very clean. I appreciate that you must have a room key to ride the elevator up. All staff that I encountered were very polite. It was a great selection for this conference BTW - Their air conditioning system works!! Brrrr in some of the session rooms but I understand that this was requested because of the umber of people in attendance
While visiting Greenville this weekend, we were guests at the Hyatt and spent time at the ORB Bar, where we had the pleasure of meeting Tyler, who was bartending. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, engaging, and just genuinely fun to talk with. Tyler made excellent drinks and was even happy to create custom ones if something you wanted wasn’t on the menu. He also shared fascinating history about Greenville and gave wonderful restaurant recommendations during our stay. His hospitality truly made the experience memorable. If you’re staying at the Hyatt, be sure to stop by ORB and say hello to Tyler — he made our Greenville visit even better. ⭐
Location
Great Hotel I would recommend especially if you were staying downtown and doing things in the area. Just Park and walk around
Hyatt is located in the beautiful downtown area with so much to see and do within walking distance. I was there for business trip and most of my time was at the hotel. The hotel has everything you would need and plenty to enjoy right on site.
