After a long Alexandria - Cairo - Luxor visit we had back to Cairo for our flight to home next day and had a spared one night and early morning while I was checking for what to do I decided to book a 5 star hotel as had some extra budget left for vacation, and booked Marriot as it was our Honeymoon trip I mentioned it to them on messages, they did not say anything but when we arrived we had a complementary upgrade, cake, lovely congrats notes, fruits and roses with balloons around as a surprise. Marriot quality! All staff very helpful, happy, good energy, rooms are clean and perfect, combination of modern needs with historic, antic rooms and furnitures, Palace section has to be seen one time in a life, breakfast perfect garden and pool very good. Casino not that good though, workers are not very polite, machines are mostly feels like fixed to make you loose, live games are better

Hotel tres confortable bien que certaines choses pourraient etre ameliorees car un peu delaissees comme les rideaux, le seche-cheveux, des cadres de travers....mais il s'agit d'un hotel ou on se sent bien. Le parc est bien entretenu, le personnel est tres gentil et competent, l'hotel en lui meme est magnifique. La piscine, le spa et la salle de gym sont tres agreables et tres propres. Le linge de maison egalement, la literie est tres confortable. Tres belle vue sur le Nil.

Mis a part certains details que j'ai deja mentionnes plus un peu de poussiere oubliee depuis longtemps sur le devant du grand meuble, je pense que la qualite de la nourriture pourrait etre amelioree, surtout quand il s'agit de plats typiquement locaux. De plus, les fruits et salades de fruits du petit-dejeuner ou pris dans les restaurants de l'hotel etaient vraiment de qualite inferieure, sauf les mangues.

A gorgeous hotel in the style of the old palace without being old fashioned. Nice, big rooms with a view on the nile! The restaurants on the hotel property may be a bit expensive, but the food is fantastic!!

L’hotel è meraviglioso, la pulizia impeccabile. Il personale è super attento a tutto, gentilissimi e disponibilissimi. Il cibo ottimo. Un vero 5 stelle internazionale.

Arredo delle camere un po datato, ma comunque pulitissime e accoglienti. Unica pecca, avevamo la camera che affacciava su strada al 3 piano e non è proprio piacevole uscire in balcone. Ma con finestre chiuse non si sente traffico per niente.

Dined at the Roy Streakhouse - had a great dinner, our waiter Mohamed Salah was a lovely man, very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

The morning breakfast is a real pharaonic experience. The entire team is so kind and warm, but one man stands out Ahmed Ragab. He serves with the warmest smile, and reads your needs before you request them. The 19th century hotel itself is a place of historic importance, overlooking the Nile, with a beautiful swimming pool to relax after discovering all the museums and archeological sites.

I have stayed at this property and recommended it to friends countless times over the years. Near to my Cairo home and opposite to my club, I usually stay here when I am visiting Cairo for business and short stays. Today, I checked in early morning and the staff were accommodating an early check in, however, my room preference was not available, I was promised by Mr. ISlam that my room will changed in the next few hours and I was asked to return to the reception a couple of hours later, which I did, then I was met by Mr. Nader who again, told me the same thing and promised room is locked for me and only waiting for cleaning, I waited four hours, and then called the reception, I was told by a lady, sorry didn’t get her name, that the room is being cleaned and she will call me back within 30mins. It’s been two hours, since then I tired calling the reception three times, every single time I am put on hold and no sign of Mr. Nader and they are not picking up the call. Quite disappointing way to treat a Titanium member or any guest for that matter, it shows lack of respect to the guests and demonstrates a low level of professionalism. Beautiful place, nice staff for the most part, but this is the worst I have seen in many years. Not even picking up the phone.

Juste un point négatif : cela sent le cigare/la cigarette ++++++ dans les chambres et c'est très dérangeant. Piscine très bien, le restaurant français parfait. Tout le monde est très gentil et aux petits soins. Bornes ATM pour retirer argent

I liked the convenient Zamalek location. There are so many cafes and restaurants to choose from as well as night time activities. The property is beautiful and sunny and perfect for relaxing in the day time on a hot Cairo summers day.

Loved this hotel. It's a former palace of the khedive upgraded with new wings. We loved walking around the garden and the old palace area, absolutely beautiful. We ate in the Saraya Gallery restaurant and it was a wonderful experience, classic, gorgeous, great service, movie-level decor. The pool was lovely, good drinks and food there too. Staff were all very kind to the kids as well which was a plus. We had a room with spectacular views of the Nile river. We loved it particularly watching the river at night. There is a Casino inside the hotel so sometimes you'd see odd characters in suits wandering around in the early morning. Some guests didn't like it but we thought it was fine it didn't bother us and the ambiance outside in the evening and in the restaurants was not at all casino like, it was very calm and elegant. Fantastic hotel.

Sehr genossen habe ich das Frühstück im schattigen Außenbereich mit schöner Loungemusik und einem Essensangebot, das alle Wünsche erfüllt. Das Personal an allen Stellen ist außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. An dieser Stelle möchte ich den überaus engagierten Rezeptionisten Ahmed Osama hervorheben - für den Fall, dass diese Bewertung ihn jemals erreicht. Ich habe mich bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Eine Augenweide ist das kunstvolle, orientalisch gestaltete Interieur des Hotels. Ich kann das Marriott Hotel klar weiterempfehlen.

Das unsere ersten beiden Zimmer nicht der gebuchten Kategorie entsprachen. Das man nachts um 2 Uhr bei der Ankunft das Zimmer wechselt und erst am nächsten Morgen das richtige Zimmer bekam. Obwohl wir 20 % auf Speisen und Getränke von Booking com bestätigt hatten, wurde es am Pool vom Servicepersonal so dargestellt, als ob man etwas bekommen möchte, was einem nicht zusteht. Ansonsten alles sehr gut.

After our days exploring Cairo with ERT, we stayed at the Marriott Cairo in Zamalek, which was the perfect place to unwind. I’d rate it about 4.5 stars: the bed was excellent, but the room itself was fairly standard (slippers provided, but no robes). The balcony was littered with cigarette butts, but it’s too hot to use anyway. Check-in also felt a bit impersonal, (I felt snubbed because the receptionist made a point of commenting that I booked with Expedia—but I didn’t, I booked with Amex Platinum) and we were given a rather ordinary room overlooking the entrance. That said, the hotel’s setting more than makes up for it. Housed in a beautifully restored former palace, the property has real character. From the grand architecture to the elegant interiors, you feel its history the moment you arrive. The location in Zamalek is excellent—quiet, leafy, and a welcome contrast to central Cairo, while still being very convenient for getting around. It feels like a calm retreat in the middle of the city, and simply walking through the hotel is a highlight in itself. Our room was comfortable, and as always with Marriott, the bed was fantastic. Service throughout our stay was professional, warm, and efficient without being intrusive. We also enjoyed dining at the hotel. The former palace rooms are stunning, and the Italian restaurant was excellent (yes, I know—Italian food in Egypt, but it was perfect after long days of touring, and I can get Egyptian food at home.) We didn’t opt for breakfast, but we did enjoy coffee at the pastry shop, which served excellent flat whites and delicious pastries. A special recognition to our waiter Yahia (Ya Ya to us) who adopted us our first night, and each night thereafter gave us tours of the palace rooms after serving us dinner. The entire waitstaff was warm, welcoming, genuinely lovely and made us feel appreciated. Overall, the Marriott Cairo in Zamalek is more than just a hotel—it’s part of the Cairo experience. I enjoyed it more than I did the Four Seasons on my last visit. It blends history, elegance, and comfort beautifully, and I would happily stay here again and recommend it.

WOW!!! Thank you Cairo Marriott Downtown…I arrived at midnight and you surprised me with an upgrade to the best suite in the hotel…amazing!!! This hotel is located right on the Nile and has fantastic boardwalk with many floating restaurants. The people are friendly and gracious. While at the hotel I enjoyed the 2-hour Hammam and massage…so enjoyable. The M Club offers full breaks and very heavy appetizers at night. Each day they offer a special cocktail. The cookies…so good. The neighborhood seemed safe for walking and exploring. Uber was reliable and affordable. Definitely coming back!!!

The hotel grounds are magnificent but the people are the true gems of the this hotel particularly, the breakfast crew. I understand that this is their job but staff members like Ayman go above and beyond. He was always there ready to make the start of day extra special. He is so kind and always has a great story to tell! I also need to highlight staff like Amr, Ahmed, Mohammed and the ladies at the front who also ensured that breakfast was spectacular. The rooms are comfortable and having a balcony to unwind after a long day is great. Again, it is thanks to staff that the room feels so nice. Special thank you to the housekeeping team Kamal, Manar and A Momim who kept the room tidy and ensured I never ran out of water!

Honestly, my experience didn't meet my expectations Starting with check-in, I was accommodated in a different room than the one I had booked. I booked a garden view, but you gave me a room in Al Jazeerah Tower. When I talked to the shift manager, he kept arguing with me about my booking and completely denied that you even have a garden view option (he told me you only have Nile view and standard rooms). I kept telling him that I paid extra money for the upgrade to a garden view. After about an hour of debating, and just as I was going to file an official complaint, he gave me my room Then I faced another bad experience regarding room service and housekeeping. They took a long time to respond to my requests (average wait time of 30 minutes), and they were far from professional

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Marriott and can’t recommend it highly enough. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations — from the moment we arrived, the location was perfect, the rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the whole property felt well cared for. The staff truly made this stay memorable. At the main restaurant, Ayman, Ahmed, and Habib went above and beyond every single time we dined there — attentive, warm, and genuinely caring about making our experience special. Their service was consistently excellent and added so much to our stay. We also have to give a special shoutout to Chef Ahmed Tolba at Tuscany — the food was outstanding, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. You could tell there was real skill and passion behind every dish. Between the location, the comfort of the stay, and this incredible team, we left feeling completely taken care of. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay with genuinely excellent service. We’ll definitely be back!

Loved the grandeur, charm and quiet location of the hotel next to the Nile. We enjoyed many of the hotel facilities, superb spa and gym. Lovely gardens and grounds. Many fantastic restaurants with array of cuisines. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would highly recommend it.

في وقت الأقامة كان بخيمة ضيقة وأزعاج والتكييف غير مناسب لكن العذر كما يقولون أن فيه صيانة !!

اجراءآت الدخول رقم الحجز المسبق والجيء في وقت الدخول أخذت ساعة ونصف من بعد الدفع ! بحجة الغرفة (مش قاهزه) عدد الذين في كونتر الأستقبال كثير رجال ونساء وحديث جانبي كثير مع الزبائن على حساب طابور من المنتظرين ! يتطلب الأمر تدريب كافي لأجراءآت الدخول والدفع فكثير ما يستشيرون بعضهم البعض ! لابد من التدريب ووضع بروتوكول لفريق الأستقبال في الحديث.

Although all rooms are designated as non-smoking, there was a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke during my stay. The Saray Restaurant has a beautiful setting, but I believe the food quality could be improved to better match the prices. I understand that Nile-view rooms are naturally exposed to more outside noise, but better soundproofing or higher noise-isolation windows would make a significant difference. It was difficult to take an afternoon nap and sometimes challenging to sleep at night. Other than these points, I had a very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend the hotel.

F&B staff are a hit or miss. Some extremely friendly and some who don’t belong. Word of caution - every single service ( menus , spa , coffee shops , bars ) is quoted in local currency but the in room laundry is in USD and that too in small print.

Everything is wonderful there, the garden, the pool and the staff.
