Comfortable and convenient. Room was clean and staff friendly.

The location was easy walk to several eateries, and a good base to explore that end of the island for a few days. The staff were EXCEPTIONALLY helpful and kind, as unfortunately we were not well during our stay. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, and if you needed extra tea/coffee etc, all the staff were pleased to help. Finally, my husband left something in the hotel room, and housekeeping found it, and it's now being mailed to our home. 100% would recommend. Thankyou.

Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The hotel was comfortable and offered reasonable prices for the breakfast and dinner. The restaurant staff were very nice and gave us information about the area. We would definitely stay again

Ein sehr schönes zweckmäßiges Hotel in guter Lage. Die Rezeptionistin war außergewöhnlich freundlich. Das Zimmer war groß, die Betten sehr angenehm.

Alles was man braucht ist vorhanden. Im angeschlossenen Restaurant konnte man Abendessen und Frühstück haben.

Beds in my room are wore out. Toilet height was to short and not elongated. The hotel could use a make over.

The room is in need of maintenance, the bathroom door dragged on the floor, there was no sink drain stopper, there was a musty smell , the mattresses were badly deformed etc

The attendant at the front desk was so helpful and welcoming. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed eating at the restaurant and our service was excellent. When our ferry was cancelled and we had to change our reservation date, the staff was very accommodating.

The bed was just soft enough, all the bedding was white so you could stain and dirt (there weren't any) and the staff was wonderful!!!!

The hotel is dated but looks like it has undergone some modernization upgrades and it very well taken care of. It offers all the services of a typical hotel and there are no other large hotels located in such a convenient location in Yarmouth. The location is the biggest benefit because you can conveniently walk anywhere in downtown Yarmouth and are only a couple minutes drive from the larger shopping area on Starr's Rd.

This hotel is as close as possible to the Yarmouth/Bar Harbor ferry. It’s modern, clean and convenient. The bed was really comfortable, the neighborhood is quiet and the restaurant is open until 10, which is useful if you’re getting in on the late ferry.

Very close to firefighter museum, restaurants and ferry to Bar Harbor. Restaurant food was very good. All hotel employees were very friendly and accommodating. Did not make use of pool but it looks inviting. Room was comfortable enough. Window curtains could use an upgrade. :-)

We had a quiet room on the top floor with a great view of the harbor. Every single staff member we encountered during or stay was very friendly and helpful. Great location right smack in the center of downtown.

Only complaint is that wifi connection was mediocre at best. Also, bathroom ventilation did not work properly.

I was expecting the hotel to be dated however it smells old and needs updating/upgraded. No fans in bathrooms, wall paper coming off, furniture is rough shape.

Musty stale smelling rooms even with ac on A supper in the restaurant was awful waitress cleaned off table with us sitting at booth sprayed us with cleaner waited 20 minutes for drinks another 20 to take our food order and 45 minutes to get our supper that came out half right, if a restaurant is that far behind tell people when they arrive so they can go elsewhere When I tried to talk to front desk about service they said we just called in another shift by this time it’s 8 pm a bit too late to fix peoples dinners

Clean, comfortable, great service, good food, close to cat ferry. Have stayed here 6 times in the last 9 years and it’s always a great experience, they let you pull your motorcycle up under the entrance overhang so it’s easy in and out and protected! Highly recommended!

The room is very spacious and clean. Water temperature and pressure very good. Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Even the maintenance staff, greeted us warmly! How nice indeed. Location is close to restaurants and the beginning of the Heritage Walk.

Let’s start by saying I wanted to like this stay. The Rodd, kind of like their franchise, need to update to progress. Room prices have increased however the value for the dollar has not. First impression; I was given my room key and went to the room and opened the door only to see it was already occupied. The girl at the desk gave me the wrong room altogether and when I returned the key and explained my experience, apologies were made. With my embarrassment of walking into an already occupied room, I really feel better quality customer service could have been delivered versus an ‘I’m sorry’. It could have been much worse. In the morning I mentioned this to the new staff who is working the counter that checked me out. She was wonderful and comped our room service bill and apologized in a very genuine manner.Parking is horrible with 3 different areas including one being across the street. The room was outdated, the beds were not very comfortable and the springs could be heard creaking and popping with every movement. The television had pixel spots and bright spots and needed to be replaced. We ordered food from the bar downstairs and the staff delivering the food was great, however the food was cold. The air conditioning unit was ridiculously loud to the point where we turned it off in the night and would rather deal with the heat. At the end of the day the worst part of our stay was walking into someone else’s room and the lack of awareness to the desk clerk’s mistake and zero recompense for their mistake. Imagine the embarrassment of walking in on someone in their room for both parties. Do better Rodd Grand. The only real bright spot was the young lady on the counter in the morning who was so professional and fixed what she could in the moment.

Very nice hotel. The room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Tje view from our window was of a roof and not very nice but other than that it was a lovely room with a nice clean bathroom. We had dinner at Gale's restaurant and it was a good meal. The restaurant could use a makeover design wise as it was a bit dull but the food and the service was very good. I would come again if I was in the area.

Excellent visit with family, our 4th time. Love the pool, the suite was quiet and clean, and the 2nd bathroom was appreciated. Great staff overall. One downside was the breakfast. the breakfast menu is overpriced and we chose to go elsewhere for check out day. also the order on arrival to the table was incomplete and the hollandaise was cold.

I had a nice time at the Rodd Grand. It is a great central location but there was not any street noise. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I recommend people stay here for the service and location. I was a solo traveler coming off the CAT from Bar Harbor, ME.

We stayed just one night after getting off the CAT ferry. The front desk person was very friendly. The room was nice, appeared to have been recently renovated. The bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was a little small and dated, but it was fine. The location can't be beat, and they're dog-friendly, which is one of the reasons we chose to stay here.

This hotel is a great staging area for exploring Nova Scotia. We took the ferry from Bar Harbor and were ready for a relaxing evening before setting out on a 1,300-mile drive the next day. The Rodd Grand Yarmouth was perfect, with a walk into town in one direction and a stroll to the Blueberry Cafe in the other.

I am a busy mother of 2, and staying at the Grand Hotel gave me the opportunity to spend quality time with my husband and kids. The location is great as it right at the heart of the town and accessible to all restaurants, etc. I was able to walk around with my husband to have an alone time and have dinner out, while during afternoon we get to swim in the lovely heated pool with the kids. Which was super fun and relaxing. We will definitely be back, Thanks Grand!!!!

Ferry was late getting in and we didn't get to the hotel til almost 10pm. By the time we got to the hotel the lot was full and the kitchen was closed. No open restaurants nearby so no dinner for us

Bed frame made a loud sound when sitting on it, had to contact front desk and repairman came up shortly to fix it.

Breakfast room was very good. Parking was easily axcessible.

Beds are super comfortable, fitness area is good and the staff are wonderful.

The fitness room could be opened earlier than 7:30am for those who like a morning workout

The staff at front desk and restaurant and bar were very friendly and helpful and professional. The property is an older building that definitely would benefit from some updating but the room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable and gave us a refreshing nights sleep and the shower in the bathroom was excellent. The hotel restaurant serves a great breakfast with lots of options. The location is good and there was several free parking options in lots beside the hotel.

It is an older 1960’ or 1970’s bland hotel building that doesn’t look very appealing superficially. It could benefit from some updating.

Staff was welcoming, very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. We were just there for overnight so didn't really use any of the added amenities. If I ever find myself in the area again I would definitely return

We loved the view from our room and the heated pool. Our son had a great time swimming. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We requested a microwave, and they kindly provided one for us. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

Our stay at the Rodd was excellent. We had a wonderful check-in experience. The front desk host was exceptional in being friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to explore the town. Love the local brewery and the restaurants on the harbor. Plenty to see and enjoy. The beds were surprisingly really comfy compared to the other hotels on our trip. The room was in good order and clean. The staff at the restaurant were friendly for both an evening beer and hearty breakfast. Would stay here again!

Our stay at the Rodd Grand Yarmouth was chosen because of the proximity to the yearly car show. My wife and I are very casual people. We liked staying at the Rodd Grand Yarmouth. The accommodations were what we expected. We were treated very well during check-in and check-out. The staff is always friendly. The room was suitable for our needs. We need a place to sleep and hang our clothes. The beds are comfortable. There are ample pillows for each person. There is enough room to hang some items and dressers to store the remaining of what we brought on our trip. We ate at the Gales Restaurant on premises. The food was fine for our stay. There was enough of a selection for my wife and I to find something to eat. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. We would recommend the Rodd Grand Yarmouth if. you are in the area while staying in Nova Scotia.

Loved this hotel, just walked in and got a room, it was beautiful and walking distance to everything. Staff was great and we had breakfast and a dinner at the restaurant and had drinks in the lounge.

Stayed overnight before boarding the ferry the next morning. We were spent after a day of driving. Wish we had more time to use the pool and explore the area. Gales for breakfast was just right. Quick yummy and super friendly service. Got us on our way ready to board the ferry.
