Stayed here before it’s a awesome place
It was more of the noisy neighbors Seemed like they were having a get together
Location was great. We were going to an event at the Golden 1 Arena and it was walking distance. Options for food/restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable.
No complaints
The restaurant while limted options the food was amazing, staff was very friendly. Location to where I needed to be was within walking distance.
While the hotel itself was clean it was in no way shape or form worth the $290 + the parking charge to park in the hotel lot for the hotel I just paid to stay at. Rooms were just basic with basic amenities, not the cleanest yet not the worst either, there is no room service, no shuttle or car service for basic transportation. While the restaurant/bar food was great they close relatively early, with not real options for food nearby along with surrounding area was riddled with homeless so plan to order in or go without..Might seem like petty complaints, but for the plus $300 one woukd expect a room that wows you with services that make you feel money was well spent. Such a disappointment for the ridiculous price
Building is not very good condition
Not good carpets , bad odour in carpets also lift
The staff was great, especially the breakfast area. The buffet breakfast was really good with real eggs, good smoked bacon, good French toast, and fruit. Room is a little noisy due to the surrounding Sacramento area. Close by was the concert hall and several restaurants to choose from. We will stay there again if attending more concerts.
Room was a little noisy due to the surrounding Sacramento area
Close to golden one
The prices
The location and the staff were the only redeeming qualities of this hotel. It is pretty run-down, and the cleanliness was subpar. The location is perfect for Golden One, Sutter Health Park, and Old Town Sac though.
The rooms and facilities need updating. The beds were uncomfortable, and the bathtub leaked all night long. There was a small refrigerator in the room that also leaked all over the floor and smelled really bad.
Location Staff
Parking.
The breakfast was very good and the location was perfect.
The AC quit working overnight and the shower was needs some attention.
Clean . Good location.
The parking was very odd and having to pay for it and not be advised was kind of disheartening
Great location

Breakfast was not included In the final price nor was the parking
Professional staff.
Many things in our room need to be fixed. Towel rack kept coming apart. Old iron board left marks on clothes. Too few outlets and most were blocked by furniture. When taking a shower the tub was barely draining so you had to stand in dirty water.
Close proximity to event.
Breakfast wasn’t hot.
The staff were exceptional! Everyone that worked there was so kind and helpful we were blown away by their hospitality.
Parking price. What, no restroom on lobby level
The location, view from my room, 14 floors up, my room was very nice. The breakfast was great
The only thing which cannot be changed and no fault of the Hotel, is the outside noise, traffic and nightlife from outside. I am so use to silence at night, i can hear my own thoughts or a pin drop at my home.
Location!
The facilities of the hotel are good.
There were homeless people on the surroundings that make it look the location unsafe.
The location of the hotel was perfect! It was next to alot of restaurants and walking distance to the golden 1 center !
The pillows
Great location !! Loved the area..
Hotel needs updating
Mi è piaciuto perché è vicinissimo all’uscita della Highway, vicino a tutto. La old Sacramento mi ha un po’ delusa.
I liked that the property was very clean. The smell was very strong but manageable.
I didn’t like that the staff was not very helpful. I booked a two Bed room and they only gave us a single bed.
Loved that we were so close to Golden 1!
It was great all around
Location, clean, comfortable.
Lady at check in could have been friendlier.
The breakfast was very good and the help was exceptional
The air conditioning was loud in the room
Location was great
Had planned to use the pool but was closed
Staff was great and friendly helpful
Food and drinks were expensive
Location
Looking rather dated inside
Proximity to waterfront, shopping, movies, variety of food.
Close, convenient and easy to travel to and from.
Had to wait for room to be cleaned. Had to report it twice.
On July 25, 2026, we arrived at this hotel around 10:00 PM after a very long and exhausting day. Unfortunately, our check-in experience was extremely disappointing. At the front desk, there was an older gentleman who appeared to be having a personal phone conversation. He asked us to wait. We understood that unexpected situations can happen, so we waited patiently. However, we ended up waiting for approximately 40 minutes while he continued his personal conversation. When we tried several times to politely approach him and explain that we were tired and simply wanted to check in, he dismissed us and waved us away as if we were bothering him. His attitude was extremely disrespectful and showed a complete lack of customer service. I was very disappointed by the way we were treated. Guests come to a hotel expecting to be welcomed and treated with basic respect, especially when they are paying customers. Unfortunately, the behavior of the front desk employee made us feel ignored and unvalued. This was a very unpleasant first impression of the hotel, and I hope management addresses this type of behavior to ensure future guests are treated with the respect they deserve.
Great location! 5 minute walk to Golden One Center, 5 minute walk to Old Sacramento. Many restaurants within a few minutes walking. Staff was very friendly and helpful, very clean room, good atmosphere and value. Stay here on many visits and will stay again.
We absolutely love staying at this hotel. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly. Our favorite part was the tunnel to old town Sacramento super convenient and we were able to walk back-and-forth to the shops. We would stay here again for sure. Highly recommend for families. We also walked around and did some shopping in the morning. They gave us a late checkout with a membership, which they needed our email address. Great spot to stop for a night on our road trip!
Location is everything and this hotel was definitely the right choice. I just wish the showerhead had more pressure behind it.
Great location! Clean rooms!
Holiday inn downtown sac is always my go to place clean great service lovely property and conveniently located for any event around Sacramento. Never had any problem what so ever
Always my go to hotel in Sacramento. Can’t beat location and top it it off with staff who care, yes I am coming back. Always relaxed atmosphere and people who care about your stay
Desk reception not friendly
Staff was very nice and helpful. Location great! Easy walk from the train station and Old Sacramento.
Bed was a little soft for our taste. Air conditioner was making a lot of noise, but staff showed up almost immediately, agreed it was too loud, and moved us to another room without needing to return to the check-in desk. Didn’t have breakfast there because the cost was too high.
Great services , we will come back
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Sacramento —Arena while attending the WSB conference this past weekend. From the very first hello at check-in until thanks for choosing us at checkout I am pleased. The staff was very nice and accommodating! My room was clean , stocked with what I needed and if I had questions they were quickly answered. What I loved most, was the access to everything I needed within walking distance. From the Golden1 Center, where the conference was , to Old Sacramento for sight seeing it was very very nice! I definitely recommend 100%
Central location to shops and restaurants. All walking distance. Right across from Golden 1 Center where the Sacrament Kings play.
Very friendly , place was clean and the breakfast was excellent !!!
Staff professional and went above and beyond
We had a nice time - we’ve stayed here a few times.. Great location
Location is solid for events at Golden 1 center.
Charging for parking when im already paying to stay at the hotel seems a little crazy to me.
Location really good if you have a concert or event to attend at the golden 1 center, its walkable! Staff was super friendly rooms where clean! Pool and gym open 24 hours.
I dont think i have a complaint! Only heads up is pay to park.
It was great All nice people there easy check-in easy checkout had a good time
The staff was very helpful, especially Luis. He was friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was excellent and we really appreciated it. Unfortunately, the beds were not very comfortable; they felt like they had a dip in the middle, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. The room also could have been cleaner. Additionally, the internet did not work on our computer, and we were not sure what the issue was. The location was great, and we really enjoyed the area. There was also a problem with the TV, but the staff handled it very kindly and offered us snacks and drinks as an apology, which was a very thoughtful gesture. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. With some improvements to the beds and room cleanliness, this would be an even better experience.
Location was perfect for an event at the Golden 1 Center. It is on a walkway that connects Old Town to the event center. The parking was not very convenient and we were charged $35/night to park quite far from our room. They had a side entrance that would have helped, but it was out of order. The breakfast was good. It was a nice buffet and our server was very sweet. I would stay again for an event at Golden 1 Center.
They were very accommodating, helpful and saved me money.
The staff was the best thing about the hotel. They were very accommodating and on top of any issues. The beds were comfy and rooms clean. The noise from the freeway is a con. Bring ear plugs. Breakfast had a good variety of hot/cold. Self parking in a nearby garage is $35. They have a small heated pool and a gym equipped with treadmills, ellipticals and weights. The hotel could use an update/remodel. Tip: avoid room 623 and get a higher level room closer to the DOCO side.
Noise from the freeway
Location! Great staff and plenty around to assist. Comfortable rooms and roomy. If you reserve with breakfast included it is top-notch for a hotel
Location was amazing and bed was comfortable! Staff was always very friendly and helpful.
Room was a bit cramped with all the furniture packed in, but they were all nice pieces.
The people at the front desk are amazing. They were patient and helpful and it was truly appreciated
Super close to Golden 1 Centre which is the place where we went.
Nothing. Very standard facilities.
The hotel was clean the staff was friendly and helpful. We are going to definitely do business now and in the future.
Location and parking.
Sink didn’t drain. Pull out sofa bed had dirty sheets on it and mattress pad stained. No drapes to block out light in the morning.
Everyone was very nice It was busy (Fourth of July) but they were handling everyone with patience.

Location was right to be close to the hospital
I stayed at this location in February for a work conference. Enjoyed my experience so returned with family for an A’s/Dodgers game. Hotel and stadium was within a 15 minute walk. Our room wasn’t ready when we checked in but were offered a similar room available immediately. The value was good. The only drawback is that this stay hasn’t shown up on my IHG Loyalty account and no points received. Aside from this I highly recommend this location.
Fabulous downtown location. Added attraction of nesting peregrine falcons!
Slightly noisy a/c
Very helpful staff
The toilet paper holder in the bathroom was very loud.
Location was great, right off the freeway. Close to many attractions, and great dining. Hotel staff was very friendly. Breakfast buffet was over priced and very bland. I would stay here again, but skip out on breakfast.

Very solid choice in a good location if you are coming by train. It could definitely do with a refresh of the rooms, but it was well looked after. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly and the views from the room were great. Breakfast was probably the least appealing aspect. It was a pretty unimpressive buffet, which I could have lived with just fine, but if you’re adding servers and gratuities when their main task is pouring coffee, I think that warrants a bit better than the dull food options on offer which I had to serve myself anyway. I’d definitely stay again but skip the breakfast.
Excellent service

The bathroom in the wheelchair accessible bathroom is a safety hazard (immediate/eminent) without nonskid (nonslip) tape on floor. A shower mat could work, also!
The location is amazing. It’s really close to old town Sacramento and a very reasonable walking distance to the baseball stadium
The accommodations we received were not conducive to a restful stay. Over two nights, we spent more than $600, a significant expense for me as a teacher earning $2,010 monthly. I planned this getaway to celebrate Father’s Day with my husband, making it our sole vacation this year. While we enjoyed the charm of Old Town and attending a baseball game, our experience was marred by the poor condition of our room, specifically room 315, which was adjacent to the elevator shaft. The constant noise of the elevators throughout the night made it difficult to sleep, and the bed was uncomfortably firm, resulting in considerable shoulder pain for both of us. Additionally, we returned to find our room had not been cleaned by 5 PM on our second day, though we were able to request clean towels. The staff members were pleasant, but it was evident they were understaffed and overworked. For the high cost of the room, I expected a significantly better experience.
Great people. Need more food choices.
I loved our time spent here.A big shout out to Christopher at the front desk. He is very much appreciated. Truly appreciated it all his help at registration and during our stay. Very helpful answer any questions you had, everyone at the desk was amazing so thank you thank you for everything. I really enjoy staying here. It’s the best holiday inn I’ve stayed in with the best service
We stayed during a large college graduation in the arena, so the hotel was packed and staff were almost always busy. But, they still managed to provide efficient, friendly service despite having a borderline unmanageable workload. The hotel provided a REAL crib (the type with baby-safe metal bars elevated off the ground) for us to use during our stay at no extra cost: an amazing amenity. We've only ever gotten the portable Pack N Play cribs elsewhere, including at luxurious 5-star resorts, and our baby always refuses to sleep in them, so the real crib made a huge difference in our sleep. We appreciated the hotel acknowledged us as elites and that they were able to meet our request for a room away from the freeway. The rooms were clean enough, though not immaculate. There is free EV charging in the basement of the garage, though there is a daily self-parking fee added on to your stay ($35 at the time of this stay). Note the hotel staff has to validate your parking ticket sometime before every garage exit, which can be inconvenient if you happen to leave during a busy time.
All staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was exceptional. A very comfortable stay.
The Front Desk Staff was amazing.
La posizione
Abbiamo avuto problemi con la smart tv (poi risoltosi), colazione di bassa qualità.
Such a great location, so close to old town and right there DOCO, I’d stay again.
We had a graduation at the Arena next door and the whole experience could not have been better. Everything we needed was right there and the parking garage had plenty of space. We could walk to all of our events and we easily hosted all of our family members.
Stay at the Holiday Inn! Great staff all around! Welcoming team, service focused, clean, great location.
Small rooms but clean. Air condition sounded like a jet engine
Great location, staff friendly, helpful, location location!
Excellent great staff room was clean plenty of water dispenser ty to the staff
This hotel is an older hotel in the area - I have been staying here on business for decades and it is because of their staff. Linda and Suni at the front desk greet me each time with a balance of professionalism and familiarity!
Great Service and attention to my needs
Location
All good
Staff
Bathtub was disgustingly dirty maintenance came upp kinda fixed the problem , but water still back up in tub
We were warmly welcomed and found our accommodations to be clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and responsive when we had questions. Great location!
Convenient location..
Outdated.
The staff was very helpful and we had a relaxing stay.
The trash that accumulated outside the property on the garage side.
Was there to enjoy a vibrant atmosphere. I ate at the Yard House nearby. I enjoyed a couple of cocktails. I also was able to secure a table where I had a house salad, filet mignon, grilled vegetables with a bed of mashed potatoes.
Excellent customer service The only thing holding me bk from booking again possibly is parking is high and should be complimentary and the rooms and bathrooms are small and dated.
The room was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Some of the furnishings in the room were clearly wearing or worn out. That’s why the one star was taken off.
I really enjoyed my experience I was treated with kindness from everyone. I felt like the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable . I will definitely be returning.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely outstanding stay! I cannot say enough good things about this Holiday Inn. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and valued. Every employee I interacted with was professional, courteous, friendly, and genuinely kind. My room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I truly enjoyed every part of my stay. It’s clear that the management and staff take great pride in providing excellent service and creating a positive experience for their guests. In today’s world, exceptional customer service can be hard to find, but this team delivered it consistently. Their attention to detail, warm attitude, and willingness to help made all the difference. Thank you to everyone at the Holiday Inn for making my visit so enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again whenever I’m in the Sacramento area. Thank you holiday inn staff. Rachelle DeFabrizio Rhha74@gmail.com
Stayed in Sacramento Holiday Inn for a conference. Room was very clean. Only issue was the freeway noise which made my sleeping difficult. Staff was super friendly and amenities were nice.
Employees and staff were the most helpful and friendly possible. Everything is perfect there.

Areas to consider
Cleanliness
7.4/10Mixed reports: several guests praised cleanliness and felt rooms were clean, but multiple mentions of hair in showers, dirt in corners, dried dog poop at entrance, and poor shower drainage lower this score.
Service
9.6/10Consistently positive: staff described as friendly, helpful, efficient check-in/out, and in some cases exceptional; multiple guests specifically called out helpful front-desk clerks.
Location
9.4/10Strong positive consensus: repeatedly praised for downtown location, proximity to Golden 1 Center and Old Sacramento, very convenient for events and attractions.
Room Quality
7.4/10Mixed to slightly negative: rooms generally comfortable but several guests noted outdated decor, buckling/holed carpet, some uncomfortable beds, and some visible wear and dirt.
Amenities
8.2/10Generally good: 24-hour pool, provided toiletries, on-site laundry and convenient services noted; some negatives around pool not being heated and extra fees for parking/pets impacting perceived amenity value.
Value for Money
6.5/10Noted as a weakness: multiple complaints about high room and breakfast prices, extra fees (early check-in, parking, pet fees) and poor value relative to cost.
Food and Beverage
6.8/10Mostly negative/limited: several comments about expensive breakfast pricing and one report of items running out; few positive mentions of provided toiletries but food offerings seen as overpriced or limited.
Overall Experience
9.5/10Overall positive: majority of guests described enjoyable, convenient, and hassle-free stays with friendly staff and great location, despite some cleanliness, room-age, and value concerns.
