Professional, friendly staff. Delicious and generous portions for breakfast at the restaurant.
Slippery tub. Slight mold smell from sink when water was running. Room 222. Meant to tell the front desk but forgot.
The fact that I paid for a King size bed and they gave me to full size beds and I paid 348 dollars.
Standard Holiday Inn. Public areas are solid and staff is always helpful. Rooms need some updating. Had an issue with the thermostat…didn’t work. Thought it was fixed on day 2. Still didn’t work on day 3 (second attempt to fix…replaced the thermostat). Nope. I had one more night so I didn’t change rooms. Management was aware and mentioned at checkout. They acknowledged but no compensation…standard apology. Location is convenient. Access to public transportation. Walkable area. Hotel restaurant is above average for all meals and is worth going to.
We called HIA @ Carlyle by IHG around 6 pm on June 23 to let the front desk know we wouldn’t be checking in until 9 pm. We were then informed that our rooms had been cancelled. We had no communication from HIA @ Carlyle by IHG or Priceline about the cancellation. We spent at least an hour scrambling to find another place to stay. So disappointing & infuriating.
Good location. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Convenient to DC.
Close to train station and parking was free even though online it said it was $18.
It was cold and breakfast was not 100% included like it was listed online. You only receive $16 vouchers for adults but breakfast was more then that and it was not good.
We were able to walk to the metro
Felt like an odd location but wasnt an issue
Nothing.
Multiple windows are broken and they all looked dirty. Elevator was out of order. We decided not to stay after seeing the condition of the hotel and the hotel refused to refund our money.
Convenient to Metro and Amtrak
Small rooms. Breakfast not included.
Paying 18$ for parking a rip off. Very disappointing. Booth in breakfast area had large tear on seat and finger mark stains on upholstery. Not a good look!.
The beds were decently comfortable
First room smelt of smoke, second room had a toilet leak on my wife's head, 3rd room was fine, breakfast was not free, as stated in our reservation, was charged a cancelation fee when I extended my stay for an extra day
Right off the interstate, close to metro, nice restaurants and a movie theater. Staff was welcoming. A goody bag was a nice touch. Comfortable, clean, convenient.
Everything was great
The room, staff, and location were all very nice.
N/A
Dog and cat allergy HVAC needs HEPA filter or something
Everything was certainlyzed
The first room the bathroom was dripping
Location Staff
Card key didn't work Had to go back down to the receptionist
The staff was super friendly! The location is also great and there are a lot of Door Dash options if you don’t want to use the restaurant (though my kids and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet)
Close to grocery store
Check out was at 12. Housekeeping was knocking on the door continuously between 11-11:49.. shower leaked, tub clogged, requested a king room online & in person was told it was available only to get upstairs & it was 2 beds..
Room was clean.
You have to pay 18$ a day for parking. Breakfast is like 25$ PER plate.
Location was good for me and what I needed . Bed was comfortable
Facilities are dated. My room smelled horrible requiring me to buy air freshener. Parking costing $18 a car per night is silly when it’s not even in a garage. The front desk saw myself and partner and only gave one room key.
Room was small dusty, air vents were nasty, bathroom to small, carpet dirty

A comfortable room with a fridge and microwave. Location of the hotel was just about a five minute walk from the Metro station. Very polite staff.
BED BUGS- please be aware!!! Please be aware that there is a bed bug infestation at this hotel. In December 27, I woke up from a nap with bed bug bites and soon after discovered bedbugs in the hotel bed. Attached are images of the bugs and bite marks. Upon speaking with the front desk, we were told that they are aware that the 9th and 10th floor rooms have an infestation with the most recent reported incident being about 1 month ago. Hence indicating that the hotel has been aware of this public health hazard and has been knowingly booking clients into these rooms, including me and my family. Please be cautious if you’re currently staying at this hotel as of this post December 28, had stayed at this hotel during the past month, and if you plan to stay here- please be informed. In addition to this disregard of one’s wellbeing, the hotel front desk manager Najoua Sdiri had handled communications with utmost disrespect and lack of empathy. Furthermore, she noted that her plan was to “confirm” there were bed bugs on Monday, December 29, the next day, with an exterminator, exposing guests for another night. We are extremely disappointed because we have stayed at this holiday inn many times with no incident. Also, we are going to have to throw out our bags and clothes as bed bugs are very contagious. Hoping this post saves potential families from suffering our fate. We have been promised a phone call tomorrow to follow up on pest inspection results- we hope they uphold that promise.
My elderly disabled mother was discriminated against at this hotel. My mother arrived on the night of December 18, 2025. She had previously called the Holiday Inn on Eisenhower directly because she requires a roll in shower. When we arrived, my mother again told the front desk clerk that she requires a roll in shower. The clerk sent us to a handicapped room with a tub. We went back to the front desk and for the next hour, the clerk gave us excuse after excuse about why my mother didn’t have a handicap room with a roll in shower. She stated the hotel was full (it wasn’t). She said my mother hadn’t booked that kind of room. (My mother did). She said that the system doesn’t tell what kind of shower it has. (Not true, by the end we learned there are only three rooms in the hotel). Finally, she told us someone had booked that room the next week and they were holding it. It was a nasty, horrible experience.
This was a good hotel to stay in that was near Old Town Alexandria. We stayed in a 2 queen-sized bedroom. The prices for a couple nights was affordable and fair. Was not too pleased that we could not get an early check-in due to how busy it was that month, but it was understandable. Also the parking was not free at the hotel. Parking was about $10/day through a paying app. Otherwise, the hotel room was comfortable and cozy. Temperatures in the room could be adjusted as preferred, there were towels in the bathroom, a TV, alarm clock, a safe, and black-out curtains. The breakfast was pretty good. There is coffee in the lobby as well. The front-desk workers were nice for the most part and helped me with what I needed. As for distance to tourist sites, the hotel was near Old Town Alexandria which was walkable or accessible by scooters through a path near the highway. That was convenient. Washington D.C. was a good 20 minute drive away, too. Overall, it was a comfortable and affordable stay here.
Todo
It was clean and quiet
As I was preparing to leave the room and check out house keeping banged on the door very hard and loud which was unnecessary
Extra charge on my Credit Card
cockroaches
Whatever the advertising was online was different when we got to the hotel
At first the front desk was friendly, and then that declined when there was an issure. There is a billing error. I was charged twice for two different amounts. 291.48 and then 441.48. I only stayed two nights. They keep telling me to contact my bank. My bank says the hotel is holding my money. When I contacted the front desk this morning the front desk manager was very rude and told me to keep waiting for a refund. This is unaccepatble as I was charged over 700.00 for a two night stay. The refrigrator did not work, the room smelled terrible, and bed sheets did not get changed. Overall this was a terrible experience and I will never stay here again! .
Good proximity to the metro. Clean facilities.
The "included breakfast" that I paid extra for was a sham. All they do is give you a $16 voucher for their restaurant where meals start at $16 and are overpriced. This means you can get the smallest, simplest meal. But, you will still need to pay for your drink plus tax and tip for the server. I was expecting a self-serve, continental breakfast. We ended up paying $20 for our breakfast the first day (that was after using the vouchers for 2 people). So, we decided to not use the vouchers the rest of the days and purchase breakfast from Dunkin or Wegmans nearby. Don't do the Breakfast included option here. It is a waste.
The beds. The bathroom was clean.
I had to go to three floors to get ice. The mirror frame in the bathroom has disintegrated and is exposed. The entry to the hotel is difficult to access. The breakfast was advertised as "included" with purchase but each item was individually priced and we ended up paying more money and the selection on the menu was not inclusive. Paid parking not appreciated. The carpet looks dirty throughout the hotel. The hotel price is high for what you get. I tried to call the front desk from the room phone and it didn't answer and I had to call the hotel's phone number as there was a TV issue. The hotel looks like it's in it's end time, given the wasted surrounding and run down condition. It looks tired and old. I stay only at HI any I can safely say this location has been disappointing and doesn't reflect the standard of HI that is expected. I feel scammed.
Nice hotel
When I checked into the hotel, I asked the front desk if breakfast was included. They told me yes it’s from 6:30 to 11:00. They also charged me an additional fee for the parking lot. But in the morning, when I went downstairs for breakfast, they told me that breakfast was not included and that I had to pay for it myself. I was really upset and disappointed. What made it even worse was that when I booked the room for one night, the price was $116, but they charged me $136 instead. That really made me feel frustrated and unhappy.
everything was normal.
parking fee wasn't mentioned . check out time given on booking.com was wrong
Elevators didn’t work & microwave didn’t work.
Staff was friendly and attentive
The hotel had a weird smell in the hallways and bathroom. Covid be from old carpet. Not sure?
Location to the metro
Getting staff to respond to problems! The food was not good
Large incidental fees 150.00 that was not returned. Free breakfast that was limited and taxed.
Great Hotel!
Clean and well-appointed, though the $18 parking charge is grating.
The lady who checked us in was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable 🙏
Fine hotel for a business trip. Decent pricing. Not many amenities.
Hard to get on Wi Fi and needed help with TV to get it to come on.
There was a scent of mold or wetness the moment you went into the room. The iron was not working or broken. Other than that it was good for a two night stay. May consider other hotels with parking available.
Very costly for 2 nights. For those unfamiliar with the grounds there are no signs for entry or exit. Some of the interior needs work like the elevator. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. And what food and drink I had was excellent.
Right across the street from the king street metro and a Wegmans. Very attentive staff, and the area felt safe even after dark. Everything is clean, and in good condition. There is a courtyard outside with seating near what used to be a pool. Self parking, but they charge for it daily on top of the room charge. No USB outlets in my room. I had a mobility accessible room (817), and it was spacious and comfortable. The only issue was that the shower stall was narrow and they have a curved shower curtain which hangs outside the stall. There is no lip on the stall and I had to put the rolling cart the towels are on up to the stall to hold the curtain inside it, otherwise all the water goes on the floor. And since I needed a shower chair there was very little space to move without pushing the curtain out again. This could be helped by putting in a straight curtain rod and a flexible drip edge on the stall. I shared this with the management but they didn't seem very interested in changing anything because of the need for ADA review, or so they said. The first time I showered it took two towels to mop up the floor. It's a significant safety issue if you ask me. No complimentary breakfast, just coffee. The restaurant in the hotel has a limited menu, and was understaffed.
H
Easy location to Alexandria and DC
Musty the smell was musty when you got to the floor in the hall and in the room
Hotel was out dated. Our original room on the second floor smelled horrible. It smelled like mildew and cigarettes. There were dogs barking. Our second room didn’t smell as bad but it was super humid and stuffy. The bathroom was falling apart. Would not recommend. Hotel staff that checked in was terrible.
I asked for a blanket to be delivered to my room. No one ever came. It was freezing in my room, very uncomfortable. I had to turn off the total system.
The stay was great. Finding the hotel was a bit confusing.
It was a place to stay and was clean
Was musty, AC didn’t work well and was warm in the room. Didn’t love that no breakfast included and had to pay for parking but I chose the hotel🤷♀️
The staff was mostly nice, especially the front desk and breakfast guy. The Holiday Inn was a good choice for me in the past, not too expensive and a great place, but lately, most Holidays Inn I went are more like a 2star hotel. One last thing: after 2 nights eating in their bar, I chose to bring my food on my 3rd night, I only ask for an empty glass to pour my wine in my room, they said manger didn’t allow glass in the room. Sometimes these little details can ruin your whole experience. They need to remember that a hotel is were one person wants to be treated well and at home, not a stranger. I didn’t feel at home in this hotel. I used to have good times in Holidays Inn, but based on this property , I wouldn’t pay more tan $99 a night.
The hotel was very clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable atmosphere and a nice breakfast selection in the morning. I especially want to highlight the excellent service from Paiman at the front desk. He provided a warm welcome, was very professional, and made sure everything went smoothly during my stay. Overall, a great experience.
Was good
Good stay. No complaints!
We saw bugs in the room and it had a funky smell as well as telling the front desk and they did nothing about the bugs barley even apologized. I will never stay here again.
Clean and close to everything.
Clean room. Friendly staff.
The front desk staff was amazingly nice and friendly. The bed was comfortable.
The AC didn’t get cold enough for our liking. It was like stuck at 71 degrees. Also, housekeeping came by twice when we were in our room around 9 am asking if we were leaving today. Just feel like that should be something they know and not something they are knocking on our door to ask.
Location was good near the Eisenhower av metro stadion. Plenty of parking place for a decent price (18$\night).
The hotel breakfast was a real disappointment. I had breakfast includes in my room price which was not actually true. Instead hotel gave me a 16$ voucher which was not enough to enjoy a full breakfast from the menu. A total scam. Moreover the quality of the food served during breakfast was very low. I will not stay in this hotel again.
Convenient hotel located near the yellow metro line, close to highway, offers a great location for Alexandria and Washington. Clean, quiet, spacious rooms, well equipped, good staff.
Loved the view from the room. Very clean, but elevators needed upgrade. The area around is very nice and close to the highway.
When we first arrived, the door was locked, but the security staff were very kind and quickly opened it for us. The location of the hotel is absolutely beautiful, and we had such a wonderful stay. The atmosphere was welcoming, and Paiman made sure we felt comfortable throughout our visit. Would definitely stay here again!"
