I enjoyed my room, but the sofa bed we very uncomfortable. The mattress sinks in and you feel the springs.

This property is close to the metro, train and local free tram.

The reception area had old extremely worn furniture. The chairs had rips in the cushions. They also had a major pest issue. The first night we went to the reception there were swarms of little bugs everywhere. It made me question their cleanliness. They also had a fountain in the downstairs area that had no water in it. The shower would not turn all the way.

Excellent location close to everyplace. Very Clean and nice.

Price was a little expensive but worth it.

I loved being across from the Amtrak station and the metro. Very convenient location! It was also great to be next to the Trolleys so we could hop aboard when we wanted to go down to Old Town Alexandria. Breakfast was included and the happy hour was a great bonus!

Pool area is extremely tired. Corridors on each floor could use a refresh. Food choices are limited and odd outside breakfast times. Evening snacks feel cheap and just thrown together last minute.

If there was a 0 they'd of gotten that. We booked a double King bed 2 bathroom with a sofa pull out for 6. They gave our room to someone else. Their idea of a "double" which for most other brands is a queen is a twin. This is relevant because what they had to replace was 2 twin beds and a twin pull out which migjt fit 3 people. The staff essentially asked me to fix it and pay more. Customer service was abysmal. They even gave us a room for a single person at one point and aked us to check it and make sure it was rigjt - obviously it wasn't! The parking is impossible. You'll read the reviews thay it's limited. It's because there are reinforcements all through the garage floor often crooked. What would be a huge garage at most hotels this one parks 20 vehicles instead of 80 abysmal

Stayed here with family for a visit to DC. 5 adults and 6 kids between us and we all had a great time! Maria’s omelettes were delicious. The evening reception bar tenders were great! Restaurant staff had excellent service. And this location is fantastic. Riding the free old town trolley in the evenings to have dinner by the water was a highlight. Right across the street from the metro made sight seeing so easy. We had a little trouble with our tv but Moses came right away and fixed it right up. Front desk was friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed the pool and the glass elevators. Telling our friends to stay here!

This hotel has a great staff who always take great care of us! Aidan is hands down the best bartender I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, always gives me great service and makes everyone feel welcome and happy. Great hotel, only place I stay in the DMV area.

I have been coming here for work for 10 years! I always choose ES because of the included eggs your way breakfast and the evening reception. Aidan is the best bartender in the DMV. Personable, fast service, and friendly. He remembers me whenever I roll in and always takes care of me! He makes you feel like home and makes the long government work days bearable because you know you’ve got a warm friendly atmosphere to come “home” to.

This should be a 5 star review as our stay was very nice, and we found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast each morning, the evening reception each night, and the location being near the metro was great. However, we have had an issue getting an electronic device my daughter left at the hotel back. I am not saying it is not her fault, as she should have been more responsible, but when we realized the electronic device was left I immediately called the hotel. The person I talked to sent me to the voice mail to report the missing item. Someone from housekeeping/lost and found called me back and reported they had found the electronic device, in the room I said it was left in on the date I stated it was left. The person was on speaker phone as I was driving so my daughter heard her device has been found and was super excited. The issue, to get it back I had to fill out a lost item report on a third party site. When I got home I immediately went to this site to report the item, gave them all the details I could (even the site says to contact the hotel first). Now it has been over a week and I keep getting emails that they are searching for the item, they need more details to return the item, well I don't know the serial number as who keeps up with on a child's electronic device. Not sure what is going on or if we'll ever get the device back. I am more than willing to pay for it to be returned to us, even told the lady on the phone that, but she said I had to go through this website to get it back. Its a shame as it has put a damper on what was a great stay and made for a very frustrating situation. If we are able to get the device back, I will update this review to what reflect the over experience we had at this hotel.

The person who checked me in was above and beyond fantastic and he also helped me later on having an idea on how to get to the trolley and some good places to go eat at. I enjoyed the evening and had a wonderful stay. Thank you so so much!

The location was convenient, close to shops, restaurants, and the metro.

Our room was adequate but needed serious updates. Our door was difficult to open and sometimes had to be pushed open with a lot of force despite being unlocked. The curtains were dirty, there were cobwebs around the room and the electrical plugs were old and gave me pause to use them at all. The pool was cloudy and though advertised as warmed, it was lukewarm at best. Most guests spent their time in the hot tub and it was so full of people it was not even worth going to the pool at all. There was a nightly complimentary happy hour but the “bartender” was so unfriendly it was clear she was being bothered to even be there. I’m no sommelier but, ew, they could’ve served a decent red. Finally, it has been truly difficult to get the property to issue an invoice. I have gone back and forth with them and booking.com to get the hotel to give me one. It’s such a simple request, I don’t understand why they’re being so cagey about it. I won’t ever stay here again and would not recommend it to any of my friends or family.

Room, staff, complimentary breakfast and happy hour - all great. So convenient - across the street from the King Street Metro Station - where we took the Metro into downtown Washington DC and back on 3 different days.

Staff were amazing, friendly, kind, upbeat. LOCATION was absolutely the BEST - right across the street from the metro and the free Old Town Alexandria free shuttle bus

The atrium was beautiful and I really enjoyed the free drinks for the managers reception. The location was also perfect with immediate access to the trolley. We had to switch rooms because it seemed like the ac wasn't working in the first room but they switched us promptly to the room next door.

The snacks for the managers reception were not great. I would have liked it if they had more cheese and crackers. The individual chips went away right away when they got put out. The breakfast was not good at all. I tried even the fresh made to order omelettes thinking if the eggs were freshly made, they would be better, but they weren't. Even the potatoes were funky tasting and I'm not too picky of an eater. The only other complaint I have is the size of the parking spaces in the garage. The pillars were large and went into the spaces making them very small. I have a large dent and turquoise paint scrape in the side of my suv trying to get into a space.

The pool and hotel is super old. There was mold in the hot tub and they did nothing about it. The room lacked supplies and I had to ask for things a few times.

The cooked to order breakfast every morning was excellent. Our room was very clean and was freshened up every day during the extent of our stay. The King St station was literally right across the street as was the free old town shuttle.

My only complaint would be the pool was indoor and not outdoor but the hotel and staff as a whole was excellent!!

This hotel had everything we needed with the connecting room suites and the free breakfast. We really enjoyed staying here and it was very quiet in our rooms. We had room son the 5th floor with the back facing the side so we had a quiet v courtyard area of the buildings surrounding the hotel that we heard no traffic and the door to close for the room prevented us from hearing the lobby area when sleeping. Easy access to the bus and trolley which is right across the street. Parking is a little tight as garage has tight spaces but we also ways managed ti get a good spot. The hotel was under going some renovations but they did. It impact our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in old town Alexandria with kids. It is even across the street to a Whole Foods!

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2026 whilst visiting Washington DC. The hotel itself is excellently located for the Metro and only took about 20 mins to get into DC. The staff are excellent and are so helpful and welcoming. The bar tender at the complimentary evening reception was great and made our stay. Unfortunately, the reception, bar area and lobby are being fully refurbished with noise constantly from about 8am to 5pm. This was not notified to us when we booked. I am sure it will be lovely when it is finished but did distract from the overall stay. The rooms themselves are large but a little dated. Would definitely recommend as a base for exploring DC as a family.

We recently stayed at the Embassy Suites Alexandria Old Town and had an amazing time. Our room was comfortable and clean. The provided shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, body wash, and body lotion smelled amazing. Their breakfast was great and prepared to your liking, whether it was an omelette or eggs made the way you like them, along with sausage, bacon, breakfast potatoes, French toast, pancakes, waffles, or toast, bagels, muffins. Seriously, it was a great breakfast! The evening reception with two free drinks for adults, along with free appetizers for everyone and a candy station (Andes mints, M&Ms, and Reeces Pieces). Parking is the only drawback. Parking is about $40 per night, in a parking garage underneath the hotel, but the spaces are tight. Really tight. The Metro station is literally across the street. This is where you will also catch the free King Street Trolley, which takes you down King Street where there are places to eat, shop, and watch your favorite sporting events! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Breakfast was very good and the atrium was very nice despite being under construction. Very accessible atrached parking garage.

The room had an unpleasant smell and the carpet was vaguely damp and sticky. The fold out bed was exceptionally uncomfortable even for a fold out couch as they are usually not the most comfortable; it was impossible to be confortable on this one. The bathroom was nice but a little ramshackle with no good place for the toilet paper holder, it was affixed in a strange location.

We recently had our wedding at this hotel and the experience was amazing from beginning to end. The venue was beautiful, elegant, and very well organized. The staff was professional, attentive, and always willing to help with every detail throughout the event. The food and service during the reception were excellent, and everything ran smoothly on the wedding day. A special thank you to the coordination team for being patient, responsive, and supportive during the planning process. They helped reduce so much stress and made the experience enjoyable for our families. We truly appreciate all the effort the hotel team put into making our wedding special. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful place to celebrate an important event.

The complimentary breakfast was very nice as well as the staff who worked it. The overnight manager was fantastic! There was a school tour group staying on the 2 floors I stayed on and they were very loud and obnoxious however the night manager came up and handled the loud screaming, wall banging, running on floor, knocking on doors and running away, with such patience and class.

The timing of the breakfast could have been longer. Being on vacation, my daughter and I like to sleep in however missed breakfast a couple of times. 6am-11am would be nice.

Being that they are currently renovating it took away from the ambiance of the hotel. It is dated in many ways, I would expect more from the Hilton.

The entire facility seems tired and worn out. Desperately needs an overhaul. Hot grill breakfast was fine but the cold breakfast (quicker) options did not seem particularly healthy. Always a line at the bar for HH.

The location across from the Metro was the biggest selling point. We used it daily to get back and forth to the city.

When looking forward to using the hot tub after dinner, we found the door locked with no life guard available. We reported this to the main desk and the General Manager was immediately called. He bent over backwards to accommodate us and even called in a life guard from home to open the facility.

The location was fantastic! Staff were all kind and courteous. Rooms were suitable for our needs. Bartender was crazy fast!

The happy hour was cool but I wish there was a better way to access it. The snacks were a very slow moving line.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Alexandria Old Town – April 2026 In planning for a 2026 visit from my sister, we focused on how best to experience the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. She would be arriving on Amtrak from Wilmington, and my apartment is in Old Town Alexandria, so we looked for hotels adjacent to Metro’s King Street station (which serves Amtrak, the VRE, and the Yellow and Blue rail lines, in addition to several bus lines. There are several excellent hotel choices at King Street station, but one that stands out is the Embassy Suites, right across the street from the Amtrak/Metro rail station. The hotel is family-friendly, spacious, clean, and safe. There’s a wonderful made-from-scratch breakfast for all guests, along with a 90-minute happy hour featuring complimentary drinks (2 per person) in the early evening. My sister’s room was ready when we arrived at around 3 p.m., and as we checked her in we found the room’s TV welcomed us by name. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was equipped with sustainable dispensers for the shower (no single-use plastics in the room). The room was quiet and remained that way throughout the two nights my sister stayed there. During our stay the presence of families with young children was evident – kids were clearly enjoying themselves and were exploring features of the hotel geared especially for young children. We found hotel staff members helpful, not intrusive, and alert to the needs of the hotel’s guests. On the same street half a block away there’s Theismann's Restaurant & Bar, which offers a full bar and a well-crafted menu of moderate- to high-priced American dishes. I’ve recommended nearby hotels in the past, and those recommendations remain. I can now add the Embassy Suites to the list. It offers ready access to the entire District-Maryland-Virginia region served by Metro and related regional public transit services, and is a great point of embarkation when exploring Northern Virginia and D.C.

I came to this hotel for Magfest 2026, this hotel is very clean and has an amazing staff. My wallet got trapped in a safe in the room so the maintenance crew came and got my wallet out thankfully. That alone shows how much they care about their hotel guests. The food is good too, I highly recommend the omelet creation bar. Would come here again for next Magfest.

This hotel was just fantastic for our 2-night stay in Old Town Alexandria. The location was perfect as it is right across the street from Amtrak, Metro as well as VRE to include the free shuttle Trolley that drives up and down King Street to the waterfront. All of the staff that we encountered to include, the front desk, housekeeping, breakfast area, Happy Hour area and management were great. The complimentary breakfast and dining area were very good with a made to order feature and the Happy Hour in the evening was very good as well. Our room was actually two rooms with a small living room and separate bedroom that was connected by a kitchen area with a microwave, refrigerator and counter with a sink. The room was spotless as well as very quiet even with the normal train activity across the street. The interior public space area was undergoing some renovations during the day but was handled very well and out of the way. All in all, a very pleasant stay and when we next visit Old Town this Embassy Suites will be our pick again.

The staff were so friendly. I liked that I could get free bottled water in the mornings when I started my day. I loved the evening snack hour. Loved the breakfast. The hotel was immaculate. It was an incredible location. Being able to hop on the metro and go into DC and back was a huge plus.

Checkin was problematic - assigned room with digital checkin was not ready by 4 which was checking time.

Extremely friendly & pleasant staff throughout the hotel. For such a large busy city I was pleasantly surprised. The parking garage is tight, even for a mid size suv, but there were always spaces. And even the garage was clean.

Atrium design was very noisy — hotel was filled to capacity with numerous school aged kids/families groups for spring break and the noise level was off the charts even 5 stories up.

When I was getting breakfast for the kid the cleaning and serving staff at like it was a problem. I gas 2 rooms so it was a fair amount of kids. The pool has way too much chlorine in it. Everyone was complaining of burning eyes. The next morning it was better.

Decent hotel, good location. Staff plays loud music and banging while getting ready at 3:30 in the morning if you had anyone sleeping on the couch area in your room.

The staff was exceptional especially Alan at the check-in kiosk!! He arranged for a room upgrade and a complimentary 50th wedding anniversary gift of a bottle of wine and 6 chocolate covered strawberries to be placed in our room. The breakfast service was superb! Kudos to the entire Embassy suites Old Town Alexandria VA for making our 50th anniversary “the best anniversary ever!!”

I really liked the living room space with the mini bar. Most hotels do not have microwaves or a fridge, but I was appreciative of that. In addition, the evening reception was great. Bartender, Kia was excellent.

The only issue I had was there were several teenagers (15-20) running up and down the hallway unsupervised at times making noise. From my understanding they were from out of town on a class trip.

I booked with booking.com and was charged almost $200 for fees not included with booking.com
