Overall stay was good. Felt extremely sorry for the young lad serving breakfast he was on his own clearly needed to another member of staff. Over 20 minutes wait for a coffee is not acceptable. I did offer to help him out

The crown was a perfect location for a one night stop when travelling with my elderly mother from North Yorkshire to Dorset on the motorway to break the journey. Food, facilities and staff were great, indeed the location offers a lot for a longer stay to explore the area. We had an accessible room with two double beds. Excellent value.

I had to ask on arrival for the second bed to be made up despite it being requested in the original booking? Soon sorted.

Breakfast was good , location ideal for wedding reception in the town.

The room was very warm and noisy as no windows just Skylights which one of was slightly open .

It was very cosy and pleasant and very comfortable and would highly recommend.

All was good but it needs more staff to do the breakfast as we waited 30 minutes for breakfast and the lad was on his own so maybe more staff for efficiency.

Room was great, spacious. Big for a family of 4, staff were kind and friendly, location was great not far from the safari.

Having stayed at the Crown on several occasions when visiting my Son’s family, I fully expected a good 3 night stay and I wasn’t disappointed. Staff friendly, room fine and food very good.

Staff were very good willing to help with everything.

Sunday dinner was terrible, beef was tough and could not eat it the broccoli was mush. I did tell the staff and they offered to not charge but was not looking to for free meal nust wanted them to know, so turned their offer down. Later in the evening they gave us 2 free drinks.

check in was awful, room was tiny with no windows and fan just pushing hot air around the room, staff were very inhospitable, bad experience would never go near the place again.

Great budget hotel close to M5 for a stop off on a long journey. Good family room- spacious. Great breakfast. Lovely staff. Also small playground in pub garden handy for the kids.

No issues. For the budget price I think this was above expectations.

TV in room too small. The whole hotel needs to be refurbished and decorated as it is looking very tired.

I booked for my birthday 9-10th June to get away from my home only 10 mikes away. To have access to a bath as the dudabkedbath at the extra care homecwas condemned.. I’ve dated twice before. The new manager Will is doing very well the pub is busy and the staff are friendly, polite and considerate. In the evening a friend met me fir a birthday meal and my rump Steak was the best I’ve had in 45 years. As my health and mobility issues are problematic I will stay again when I have permission to change my Heamo dialysis days to have a night away and if my budget allows. NB when I was booking errir occurred site changed dates to July and when I was booking out a cancellation fee was mentioned. I didn’t canx but I wanted MY birthday treat . I have change Dualysus day and ambulance transport days.

Repairs to small things in room 2which cost less £10.bukbs abd new cafe nets fir privacy instead turn nets. Too many promotional things on the bar and pub tabkes. . Less is More. Coffee machine behind bar last year was very bitter so I refused to buy again this year. On my birthday I like a Tiamaria coffee- it was ruined so I made a sachet instant coffee in my room.

Beds were comfortable.

The rooms are outdated, and the furniture looks in disrepair, pealing and broken. I would have low expectations.

Friendly staff especially Jake the assistant manager. I requested a quiet table which they provided, great care to my request to avoid allergens . The room was great with a good fan in the heat. Easy car park specifically for hotel guests.

It was very warm ( but we did visit in a heatwave). & they did provide a fan. The corridors & stairwell could do with a revamp paintwork was tired bathroom was also a bit dated & tired

Property in general was fine Our room however only had two small windows in the roof so the room was boiling, even with the fan running. Biggest issues was caused by all the corridors being closed off all day and night by the looks of it, granted it’s been very hot over the last few weeks but something needs to be done to get the heat out

The garden was an absolute bonus. Good planting to make it feel welcoming. My dog loved it. My granddaughter enjoyed the 'play area' immensely. The staff are a credit to the establishment.

Our bedroom was very clean and comfortable, but looked like it could do with a little refurbishment. Dinner and breakfast were excellent with plenty of choice of menus. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and competent. It was extremely hot and it looked like they had been dealing with a very busy Fathers' Day, but this did not phase them at all.

The evening meal was very average. Everything (scampi and chips) overcooked. There was no breakfast buffet - had to order from a limited menu e.g. only natural plain yoghurt available and whole fruit, not a fruit salad

I have stayed here a few times and I have always had a pleasant stay. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The food is good and reasonably priced and the facilities in the room are very good. It is a nice clean welcoming place to stay.

Poor breakfast

The cooked breakfast wasn't very warm, the orange juice was watered down squash, there was food on the floor from the previous evening whilst we were eating breakfast.

Very pleasant staff. Lovely spacious room, with nice big window. Decent enough breakfast (it was very quiet, only one other table so food was cooked fresh, nice and hot) Good (looked like newly renovated) bathrooms, clean and tidy. Everything you needed was there. mirrors, storage, tea n coffee etc Suited my needs for the one night perfectly, and would not hesitate to stay again.

I was given a room I was really not happy with! I'd booked a double but this was a twin, but worst of all, it had no windows! just a skylite above each bed which was letting in bugs onto the bed. Did not fancy sleeping under that, and having spent all day at work in a windowless room it was the last thing I needed! However, on having asked to swap, both girls on duty could not have been more helpful, and immediately found me a more suitable option, with a double bed that I had actually booked. And a lovely big window! Could just do with adding to the welcome sheet, time of breakfast. Oh and I did mean to mention the soap dispense was broken and could fall on someone! minor issue but I should have addressed it at the time.

It was our fourth stay at the Crown. Everything was Ok. Nice garden. Good Drinks.

The young staff were excellent. Friendly, polite and working very hard. Very helpful and made sure on our return stay that we had a room on the ground floor.

Came to stay as it was close & convenient to a party venue we were attending. Loved we could have late access to our room, even when the pub was shut. It was at an excellent location for our stay- close to the motorway, our party venue, plus dedicated hotel parking at the rear. Loved that the late access was key coded for security. Room was at the front near a busy main road, however this had no effect on our stay at all. We had a very comfortable nights rest & didn't even notice the road noise. We did notice that when we returned to the pub late on, the road was much quieter than earlier in the afternoon. Room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, plenty of plugs for chargers etc. Room heat to your choice by using the radiator knob. Warm bathroom due to a heated towel rail, all perfect for us. There was a fan if required. Loved the duvet & the choice of pillows. Loved there was a chair to sit on, not just the bed. Bathroom compact with shower over the bath- didn't use shower so can't comment further. Visually all looked good. Kettle with tea, coffee, milk, sugar & decent sized mugs. Room was clean, however there were some scuff marks from previous use. Coating on desk was coming away- needs redoing. Nothing to spoil our stay, but enough to see the room was getting ready for a refurb. All things were functional & working. Grubby stains on top of handrail on stairs. Overall a perfect stay & if ever in the area again would certainly stay here again without a second thought. Food in the pub- breakfast well cooked & tasty. We did add some seasoning but that was our personal choice- better to add as can't take it off. Perfect amount- especially liked the bacon & eggs. Evening food was standard pub grub- nothing exceptional but ok & you got what you ordered.

Few areas a bit grubby & needed attention but nothing to spoil our stay. Food in pub on afternoon/evening basic pub grub but that was what we were expecting. What we had was well cooked, no long waits, great service.

Location for nearby sports stadium. Quiet and easily accessible car park and room. Fairly good choice of food and drinks, staff very polite and proficient. Felt very relaxing. Look like a very well kept outdoor area just weather didn't allow us to use this area.
