Thon Hotel Orion

The location of the hotel was perfect as well as the breakfast. The room met our needs, however, it was a bit small and we had challenges with where to put the luggage - after some reconfiguration, we managed. The staff was lovely and accommodating. The breakfast was wonderful; plus, they provided tea and coffee in the lounge.

A hotel abszolút a belvárosban van, közel minden látványossághoz. A Floyen hegy sikló és a kikötő is csak pár perc gyalog. A szoba nagyon tiszta, az ágyak kényelmesek, a reggeli pedig nagyon bőséges és finom. A személyzet is nagyon kedves volt a recepción és az étteremben is. Jól éreztük magunkat.

Das Personal war nicht sehr informativ. Beim Frühstück war es sehr chaotisch und laut. Das Brot wurde von allen mit den Finger angefasst, keine gute hygienische Lösung, andauernd fehlten Sachen und beim warmen Buffet war es nicht sehr sauber,alles bekleckert und oft leer.

Staff was friendly and very helpful on arrival. The breakfast was great. The location could not have been better. We were right by the harbour and in easy walking distance to a number off great areas. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Hôtel très bien situé à côté du quartier historique de Bergen. Le personnel est très agréable et accueillant, le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié. Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir une chambre « supérieure » donc un peu plus grande au 10è étage avec vue sur le port. La chambre était confortable et calme. Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine dans cet hôtel.

Ypperlig frokost, med et utrolig hyggelig personale!! Savnet sterkt hårbalsam i dusjen. Fikk tildelt en flaske med shampo og en balsam, men de var av veldig dårlig kvalitet - og jeg er ikke kresen på denslags.

The location was great, but we booked it because of their parking and it was shut the whole time we were there. Breakfast was good if manic. Special mention to one of the ladies at breakfast, she was from Columbia but I can’t remember her name, but she was so lovely.

Abbiamo soggiornato al Thon Hotel Orion e l’esperienza è stata davvero ottima. Il prezzo è un po' elevato, ma tutto sommato in linea con gli standard e il costo della vita in Norvegia. I punti di forza del soggiorno: Posizione "wow": Strategica ed eccezionale, praticamente a due passi dalla città vecchia (Bryggen), perfetta per muoversi a piedi. La colazione: Veramente ottima, ricca e varia, in pieno perfetto stile della catena Thon. La camera: Seppur non molto grande, era estremamente pulita, accogliente e curata nei minimi dettagli. Servizio e coccole: Personale sempre cordiale e disponibile. Molto apprezzata la possibilità di gustare tè e caffè a disposizione degli ospiti in una saletta davvero bellissima e rilassante.

Hotel in centro città. La stanza era ben pulita e con una bella veduta esterna. La colazione era abbondante. È confortevole avere sempre a disposizione acqua e caffè nell'area comune.

Hotel molto centrale e con tutti i servizi. Buona colazione.

La stanza per 4 era un pò piccola. Peccato per il festival musicale che si teneva appena fuori dall'hotel e che ha generato rumore fino a tarda serata.

Posizione ottima, a due passi dal quartiere di Bryggen. Colazione ottima. L'albergo è molto pulito. E' possibile lasciare i bagnagli in una stanza chiusa a chiave se si arriva prima del checkin.

La nostra stanza non era molto grande. La struttura non ha un parcheggio e il più vicino è a 10 minuti a piedi dall'hotel (35 euro al giorno circa).

Vi må huske å sjekke hva som skjer i Bergen neste gang vi bestiller hotell…. dette hotellet låg for nær konsertarena Koengen. Vi hadde fått rom med utsikt over konsertarenaen, det klirret i vinduene og ikke mulighet for å bytte rom til andre siden. I tillegg var vi uheldige og glemte igjen en taxfreepose med to champagneflasker på rommet da vi dro. Vi ringte hotellet tre timer etter utsjekk, neste dag fikk vi tilbakemelding om at posen var funnet, men tom for flasker. Vi spurte hvordan dette kunne skje, men ingen kunne gi svar på det…. og insinuerte vi noe? Nei vi kom med en faktaopplysning om en gjenglemt pose på et låst rom…..

Es war für das Geld schon ein kleines Zimmer. Nach der Kreditkarte Abbuchung wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass doch kein Parkplatz zur Verfügung steht. Das war eigentlich der Hauptgrund, dort zu buchen.

Beliggenheten til sentrum, men ikkje til hovudvei. Veldig mykje støy.

Ingen kjøleskap, eller mulighet for å sitte anna enn i senga.

The hotel’s excellent location is truly unparalleled—almost all of Bergen’s main attractions are just a few minutes’ walk away. The Hanseatic Quarter, Bryggen, the Fløibanen funicular, the Fish Market, etc. are all within easy walking distance, while Rosenkrantz Tower and the Fortress are practically right at the hotel entrance. Breakfast was the same every day, but there was a generous selection of delicious food to choose from: pastries, scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, gluten-free options, coffee, tea, and more. The elevators were fast, the reception staff were very kind and helpful, and the room was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. The hotel also offered umbrellas and power banks to borrow, as well as complimentary tea, coffee, and water in the lobby next to a small fireplace. Taxis were immediately available right in front of the hotel.

The only negative point I have to mention is that we booked a family room, but what we received was essentially a standard room with an additional double bed. This made the room quite cramped for four people, and the wardrobe was also very small, so we practically had to live out of our suitcases. In hindsight, we probably should have booked two separate rooms instead.

D'être informé APRES avoir été débité du paiement de la non disponibilité du parking pourtant réservé il y a plusieurs mois. Nous avions réservé CET hôtel que pour ce service. Enfin, on nous a attribué une chambre avec une salle de bains équipée d'une baignoire alors que le descriptif lors de la réservation précisait bien une douche. Pour un séjour de 3 jours ce n'est pas très commercial. Mauvaise communication. Informations tardives. Impersonnel

Good hotel in heart of Bergen . It is clean . Great breafast , great wifi. No Ac but you can crack the window. Rooms are very small . Beds also small and uncomfortable. They should invest more in beds. We stayed 3 nights , no complains . No parking . You can park in the near parking house.

Nice hotel very comfortable even if expensive. Good situation at less than 5 mn to Briggen by walk. Very good breakfast and bedroom comfortable. An amazing sport room.

Czajnik, herbata, kawa w pokoju, deska do prasowania i żelazko. podgrzewana podłoga w łazience. jednak jest dużo deszczu w Bergen, więc przydaje się podsuszyć buty na takiej podgrzanej podłodze. :) kosmetyki do mycia, szlafroki. Na dole sala z kominkiem, gdzie można usiąść napić się kawy, wody, herbaty bezpłatnie. wszystko super.

Wszystko mi się podobało i było zgodne z ofertą. Oczywiście cena jest wysoka, ale cóż to Norwegia i samo centrum

We had stayed at Thon Hotel Storo in Oslo just before arriving in Bergen. Storo is a modern hotel with spacious rooms, and surprisingly it cost us less than half of what we paid for our stay at Thon Hotel Orion. Naturally, this set our expectations quite high, and unfortunately Orion did not live up to them. We understand that comparing two hotels in different cities is not always entirely fair, and we have no experience with other hotels in Bergen. It may simply reflect the standard or pricing in the city. However, based on our own experience, the difference between the two hotels was significant. The hotel itself felt rather dated, both from the outside and in the guest rooms. With the sofa bed unfolded, the room became extremely cramped. We had already anticipated this to some extent, as several previous guests had mentioned it in their reviews. The biggest concern, however, was the room door. It was very difficult to close properly, and during the night it had opened by itself. We were woken early in the morning by noise and light coming from the corridor. As our six-year-old daughter was sleeping right next to us, this naturally made us feel quite unsafe. We decided not to report it to reception because we did not want to move all of our belongings and change rooms during our short stay. Instead, we placed one of our suitcases against the door for the remainder of our stay. The bathroom was also quite basic, the room lighting was insufficient, and the few power outlets that were available were positioned in rather inconvenient locations. While the breakfast was perfectly acceptable, we felt it offered less variety than the breakfast at Thon Hotel Storo. We also had an unfortunate interaction with one of the Spanish-speaking breakfast staff members, who came across as rather unfriendly. We realise that everyone can have a bad day, but it did leave a negative impression. Finally, this is only a small detail, but we noticed that we received only two complimentary bottles of water upon check-in, even though we were staying as a family of five. At Thon Hotel Storo, each family member received a bottle. It is a small gesture, but these little touches do make guests feel welcome and valued. Overall, we genuinely appreciated the excellent location of the hotel and the convenient parking facilities, but our stay did not meet the expectations we had based on our previous Thon experience. Given our experience, we would probably not recommend Thon Hotel Orion to friends or family visiting Bergen, although we cannot judge how it compares with other hotels in the city.

El servicio de reservación del taxi. No se presentó a la hora acordada. Y tuvimos que recurrir al servicio uber a última.hora.

I intended to make a refundable booking. Two weeks before arrival, there was a family emergency. It turns out I must've clicked the wrong button: I had paid a higher rate for a booking that couldn't be cancelled. The hotel was completely unhelpful, and refused to change the dates. They're keeping the money and will probably resell the room. Never using the Thon chain again.

Great hotel to stay at. Perfect location. Rooms were stylish and spotless. Beds were extremely comfortable. The food selection and quality at breakfast was amazing. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

This hotel is like a conveyor belt for large tour groups all wandering around with lanyards on. Unwelcome staff on check in, wrote our passport details on a notepad which then got scribbled out later- not very confidential. Room was really dark- good for sleeping but couldn’t see much during the day even with the lights on. Tea tray cups still had lipstick on from the previous guests. The corner of the bed is very sharp and dangerous. It is covered by a bed runner so you cannot judge the sharp corner. I found this out the hard way and got a nasty injury to my leg. I’ve included a photo. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel as there are plenty others to choice from In Bergen and in our opinion was not good value for money.

Needing a single room, at least at this hotel I was allocated a double room for single occupancy. It was very small but fine for one. Two people would have struggled. The breakfast was mediocre. Not much choice and a bunfight. We had dinner one night which was good. The hotel is fairly central, being just beyond Bryggen. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.

We spent 4 nights here in what seemed to be an unusual heatwave in Bergen - no rain! The breakfast choice is awesome and plenty of it. The room was good although the air conditioning was not intuitive meaning we couldn't find the most effective way to cool the room down beyond having windows open. Reception seemed to be constantly busy with guests coming in and out in a seemingly endless stream. There isn't a huge amount of public relaxing/lounging space and only a few tables/chairs on the ground floor which by the evening were always fully occupied. The beds were comfortable and the room had some useful hanging space. But with a combination of the unclear how to use air con and the mini fridge which both didn't keep things particularly cold and kicked out a large amount of heat itself, the room temp wasn't great overnight for sleeping. Not enough to really complain about though - it was okay. Overall, it was good for the price.

Very friendly staff and very good breakfast. The rooms were clean and good facilities and great location for walking round Bergen.

We did not get told that the military own the car park that they use for the hotel and it closes and is locked from 11pm until 6am. As we weren't told it was locked and checked out at 4am for our flight, it did come as a shock. Luckily the military came and unlocked it but we were told at the time that sometimes this isnt the case and would not come down until 6am. So if you have an early morning flight make sure you ask about the gate being locked.

Rent, fräscht, något små men välplanerade rum. Sköna sängar, tyst rum, fantastiskt badrum, så bra med låda för necessärer (saknas ofta). Frukosten jättebra med bra urval. Trevligt när de går runt och erbjuder kaffe/te och dessert.

Do not stay here if you are not part of a big tour group and don’t like big tour groups. The large tour groups were overwhelming for us solo travelers.

Behagelig velkomst ved check in. Skønt værelse, meget rent. Beliggenheden få meter fra Bryggen, havnemiljø og Fløybanen. Super lækker morgenmad med masser af valgmuligheder. Ikke mindst venligt personale.

Hotel in sehr zentraler Lage in Bergen direkt am Hafen und zum Fischmarkt. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten können einfach per Fuß erreicht werden. Gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet.

Es gab, wegen einer Veranstaltung, keine Parkplätze Vorort, so dass wir auf ein Parkhaus ausweichen mussten. In der Nähe vom Hotel waren zwar öffentliche Parkplätze mit Ladestation. Man konnte da aber nur für 3 Stunden parken und laden und die Ladestation waren sehr sehr langsam. In 3 Stunden konnten gerade mal 8 KW geladen werden.
