Bantam Tea Rooms

We paid through booking but they never booked the room so Bantam wasn’t expecting us. We waited there for an hour while The manager tried to arrange a room for us. Thankfully, she was successful and our room was lovely. The shower was the best we had during the whole trip.

The fact that booking never owned up to their mistake and made no effort to find us an alternative accommodation..

The room itself was fine, bed a little on the hard side , bathroom was brand new.

There were no windows, they had the thermostat preset to 30 degrees… it was unbearable!

Great place to stay. The facilities were more modern than in the other Cotswolds' locations. The breakfast was very good.

I paid £200 per night for a room which may have been worth £80-£100 maximum. 1.to go to the bathroom you had to walk up 2 flights of stairs 2.The room had very little headroom and it was virtually impossible to avoid bashing your head on one or both of them ,which we both did. 3.The kitchen wasn’t thouroughly clean .And the drying up cloth wasn’t clean and smelt mingy. 4.The room overlooked the parking lot and refuse bins . 5.Other hotels offer better facilities at a much cheaper price. WE LEFT AFTER ONE NIGHT IN SPITE OF PAYING £400 for a 2 night stay.

Breakfast and welcome were good

It has been hot. The efforts to cool the room prior to arrival did not result in a room at an acceptable temperature. Overnight it cooled but the windows only opened a couple of inches and I do not think could be moved. The room was also quite small- with a large bathroom.

The location was excellent with all facilities close by and opposite the start of the Cotswold Way. The staff were friendly and helpful.

El hotel estaba en pleno centro y la habitación principal era más grande de lo que nos esperábamos en un principio.

Habíamos pedido 2 habitaciones juntas y cuando llegamos nos encontramos con una habitación familiar con 1 cama de matrimonio y 1 una cama individual (en la que no podían dormir mis 2 hijas) y la otra habitación, aunque estaba cerca, no era practica, ya que teníamos que bajar desde la habitación principal que estaba en la buhardilla, hasta la segunda habitación. Nos ofrecieron poner otra cama supletoria, para dormir los 4 en la misma habitación, pero manteniendo el pago ya realizado, con lo cual, era pagar por una habitación para que se quedara vacía. Al final nos ofrecieron un descuento, pero ya decidimos quedarnos tal y como estábamos. Cuando llegamos, el acceso fue a través del restaurante (que estaba cerrando tras el turno de comida) y para acceder a las habitaciones, nos dijeron que teníamos que acceder por detrás (la señalización bastante más pobre) y es ahí cuando localizamos el parking, porque hasta ese momento, habíamos dejado el coche en el parking. Durante el desayuno, pese a que estaba incluido, nos sorprendió que no se incluyera ningún tipo de fruta o bollería y aun cuando había disponibles un surtido de tartas y cosas dulces, había que pagarlas aparte.

Very quaint, great location, good breakfast. Our room was quite small but quite adequate for one night. Parking was at the back of the property which was great. Bantham Tea Rooms is in a very old building which was charming. Staff were very nice and very helpful.

TV reception was poor and kept buffeting plus very dusty behind it! - not that we were watching it for long, just while we got ready in evening and morning.

The Bantam tearoom is set in the heart of the town. The room was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely breakfast, all in all a great stay.

Cosy room, great breakfast

Very charming and cozy accommodations. Breakfast was also plentiful and nice. Lots of light and airy feeling in the spaces despite it being a historic property.

After the tea room closes, you have to walk around the back alley to get to High Street.

1 window in the room was broken and had a plastic bag over it. Very hot in the room. Breakfast was ok. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs which came to me runny and cold.

The mattress has seen better days and no hooks or places to put clothes in an otherwise large bathroom. Breakfast was good, but I’ve had better coffee in my lifetime. That said, small things and would happily stay again.

Adorable spot. We stayed in the hen's nest and the cotswold stone throughout was gorgeous and having a kitchenette was great. The breakfast every morning was wonderful in the tea room. We loved being in chipping camden as well.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable.

I am 6'5 and I found the room quite small, and the shower smaller!

Breakfast was outstanding and they accommodated my early start. Lots of character, very charming rooms and tearoom. Very clean.

After the tea shops closed access to the rooms was from a small road at the back, perfectly safe, house lined street, but it was quite dark and as a woman traveling alone just made me a bit nervous

Everything was lovely, really enjoyed our stay. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Only thing I noticed was it would have been handy to have a mirror on the inside of the wardrobe door to blow dry hair, but I managed - it wasnt a big deal ! but overall everything was great.

We got in late and they left a key for us. The room was very cute and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was really good too.

They don't have air conditioning and the windows don't open. It was actually hotter in the room then it was outside. All night long I had to keep opening the door to try to cool off the room. We couldn't leave the door open all night because there wasn't a screen on the door and bugs were coming in.

The building was beautiful and the staff were lovely. Friendly and welcoming. The room was larger than most though because of shape first twin bed very near the entry. Not a complaint as the building is the shape it is. Tea room itself was gorgeous and breakfast lovely. Breakfast is served before the cafe opens which was nice

The first bed was on a slope due to the floor and old building. Again not a complaint but maybe should have been informed so we could decide if we were happy with that.

Couldn’t adjust the temperature to any cooler, it was hot even with the small fan on high. We could’ve called, but it was late when we arrived. I never saw any air vents, so I’m not sure if it even worked.

The location is excellent as was the breakfast. Parking was easy. Staff were very helpful with some recommendations for where to eat and visit.

Downside was the room really. It looked a bit tired and I personally found the bed uncomfortable. The WC is in a quite tight position as well.

One of the bedside lamps was broken, so didn’t work. Room 1 looks out over the High Street, and on a Friday night was surprisingly noisy. The bathroom window could have been frosted, to give a little more privacy.

Zowel de kamer als de tearoom waren heel sfeervol. De badkamer was schoon en de douche werkte top. Het ontbijt was heerlijk, met verse ingrediënten bereid en heel fijn dat we konden ontbijten voor de tearoom open ging voor het publiek.

Het licht op de gang bleef de hele nacht aan, en doordat de deur niet volledig aansluit op het kozijn heb je hier erg last van. Ik heb er in ieder geval slecht door geslapen helaas. Een motion sensor voor het ganglicht zou een goede oplossing zijn.

I was disappointed in the room. It seemed very expensive for the size of it. Very small room and quite basic. No plug near the bed. I know it’s an exclusive area but it felt overpriced

We truly enjoyed our stay, both at the hotel and in Chipping Campden. The accommodation is charming and perfectly located right in the center. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and spotless. Having on-site parking is a great plus. We also loved the delicious breakfasts every morning.

I liked the old building and the area, it was a friendly pleasant place.

The room was a little small for me and my husband is a tall man so it was not an ideal size room for us, my husband also knocked his shin at the end of the bed because it was a bit too close to the set of draws.

The location of the property is excellent for our purposes.

The rooms are a little warm and we could do with the option to have an early breakfast but we love staying there

Location, atmosphere

Extremely hot, I understand it was unusual, but it was impossible to sleep due to heat, as there ia no AC in the rooms. On top, the pillows are bad. Also, breakfast service was veeeeery slow and we had to mention several times to get what we ordered.
