The room was great; very clean and a very comfortable bed. It was also nice and quiet and we had a great view of the water.

The lobby area is quite small and outdated. The dining area is awkward to access, needing to use steps no matter what floor it was approached from. The parking area is tight, and there were several trash items along the front of the building.

The location was perfect about a 8 to 10 minutes walk to the casino and the water view trail. The river view room was spectacular.

Close to the casino, staff was friendly and helpful. Very short distance to the tunnel entrance to the USA.

The location is excellent, situated near River Park, the river cruise meeting point, and the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel, with a great view of Detroit. The breakfast was excellent.

One of the elevators was out of order, which caused long wait times for people on the upper floors. The only working elevator was full most of the time, so we had to take the stairs.

It was comfortable and very clean. Room was small and warm and we couldn't get it cooled down. We dealt with it for 1 night. We would have mentioned it to staff if it was more than 1 night.

They didn’t have enough parking but said not to worry as they have parking garage/ and then when I got home afterwards there was a undisclosed parking charge for it

Breakfast was very good in a clean and pleasant breakfast room. Beds were very comfortable. Quiet room.

Reception was a bit chaotic. I had to ask if it was reception as there was no signage. It would have helped if the person who checked us in had told us you need your room pass card to use the elevator. The elevator had no signage about this. We went up and down a few times before a hotel worker stepped on the elevator and helped us out. It was simple but frustrating.

Good TV quality.Love the elevator working on key card only..nice safety feature.Wifi is great. They also had free welcome cookies. The breakfast is one of the best from free hotel options that I have ever had. Lots of options and everything is clean.The manager and staff are exceptionally nice and accomodating. Walking distance to Windsor Premiere cruises, waterfront and lots of restaurants. I will be returning to Windsor just to return to this hotel.

Everything was a pleasant surprise and exceed our expectations: room appearance, bed, breakfast, magnificent river view from the window, convenient location next to the riverfront walk. City parking at the hotel could be used, so it is no issue as soon as you don't leave it.

It's very rare that you can't find almost anything to complain about. The only things I can mention: unavailability of swimming pool due to renovation - it would be great to know in advance; surprising absence of the recycling bin in the room; very slow elevators, and room doors that had to be forced to close with the loud noise.

The staffs are very friendly . They gave me a river view room which was amazing. The hot breakfast was another thing which we loved. The breakfast was included with the room. The room view was exceptional.

There is nothing like that, except that the parking would have been free. However, I understand some of the hotels has the policy. The parking was not terrible. It was nice, and 10$ for a day its cheap.

The hotel is well situated. 4 min walk to the casino, and right across the street from the waterfront .

The front door is a little hidden off to the side.

Upon arrival our room wasn't available because of a temporary maintenance problem. Staff were able to find another room for us, offered free parking and a slightly reduced price. The next day our room was ready.

Elevators sometimes seemed unusually slow. Lighting in the room was a little inadequate in my opinion. One lamp in the corner and 2 small bulbs over the night stand was insufficient to read unless direct under the light.

Location on waterfront easy access to enjoy walks and fishing , breakfast buffet was good, easy parking around hotel, next door restaurant with pool tables and foosball for kids with affordable menu options. Fridge and microwave in room were nice add-on.

Pool is quite small and I wouldn't says it's the best location at hotel right off the lobby.

One Elevator not working

We visited Detroit and wanted to also visit Canada. We chose this hotel due to other reviews. I am so happy we did. This hotel was great. I agree with other reviewers to pay the extra to get river view. It is amazing. The front desk staff were amazing. The room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and there were at least 3 staff members taking care of the food/service. There was only 1 elevator working but it did not cause us any issues. We would definitely stay here again . It is within walking distance of the riverfront and Caesars. We stayed at 3 different hotels on our trip and this was the best overall!

We just had a most wonderful experience in Windsor at the Holiday Inn Express. The location was superb on the Detroit River but the staff was EXTRAORDINARY! They were so kind and caring from the managers to the cleaning staff. They each were patient, helpful, and genuinely caring. The river views were stunning from the upper room but it was the people who make this place special. Go here when you visit Windsor and you won't be disappointed. Thank you, all you wonderful hosts at the Windsor Holiday Inn Express!

Awesome breakfast. Include egg bites . The staff were very helpful and polite . Near to Linq transit to Comerica Park and Detroit Tigers games.

Relatively easy to find. I think it's weird for them to charge parking in windsor of all places $19 beside hotel and $10 to park in garage a block away. Parking spaces small and not many available near the hotel. Room was relatively quiet and clean. Some of the lights in the room did not work. They were nice enough to waive the park fee because of this. Staff friendly Elevator extremely slow and small. Breakfast was surprisingly good and included with the stay. Compared to Ceasars - rooms bigger there and free parking (more room there too), but ceasars does not have free breakfast. Not sure where i will stay next time

Great location by the waterfront and walking distance from other activities, walked to a Souvenir shop, two different bars, Caesar Palace Casino, etc.

Parking was very confusing, I accidentally paid for parking with the parking lot that’s right in front of the hotel, but the hotel parking is actually in the back of the hotel, which you still have to pay for per day. I did mention this to the hotel staff and was able to get everything situated, and they waved my parking fee since I had already paid. Also room was very nice but congested for four people, didn’t have much space to maneuver around. Saw a huge spider by our TV so that did throw my comfort level off, but my son was able to get it and we didn’t see anything else after that.

They overbooked our room so when we went to check in there was an occupant already in the room! I'm still waiting for a refund but it seems Booking and the Holiday Inn cannot coordinate.
