Loved it and location was on point to our duration
Nothing really elevators were a little scary other than that it was great

Room 'very' dated and a bit shabby now
Fantastic old beautiful hotel. Classy.... Spotlessly clean.... But bo hot water for the two days we were there. Floor 23
No hot water on floor 23 for the two days we were there
Staff were good, room was clean and spacious, beds comfortable. And, the Art Deco design in the building was an extra.
Parking. 35 dollars and you had to sign up to a website in order to pay. So, I found a multi storey around the corner for 21.
Close to stadium

La ubicación
Esta muy viejo las habitaciones El aire suena demasiado Los colchones hundidos No salia agua caliente Dos noches la pase muy mal y la tercera noche nos cambiaron a au suite y todo mejoro
The location was great for the main conference center
Had to take cold showers multiple days in a row, which is super stressful late at night, no hot water unless running the shower for about 20 minutes first. It seemed to be a very old system. It also sucks it was super high price for the room, and had to pay extra for parking.
The hotel is beautiful and our room was perfect for our one night stay. The location was within walking distance of everything we needed for our night at the Great American Ball Park.
Room 928 - our bathroom sink did not drain very fast. Time to fish out the hair clogs.
Room was clean, bed ears very comfortable. The property is a little dated.
The decor is dated.
Loved the architecture
The overwhelming smell of smoke or something in the lobby
The location is good and the staff is great. We’ve stayed there multiple times.
Six elevators but only two working. It’s the second time in a year that we’ve run into this. It’s ridiculous for a building with 28 floors. Unacceptable.
Location downtown
It’s old and it shows. Rooms could use some updating.
The front desk and housekeeping were so nice to bring us a rollaway bed it worked out excellent
Absurd experience. 5 out of 6 elevators were broken for 2 consecutive days. So elevator wait time at 5pm was more than 20 minutes! Today the in-room AC was out of order and the hot water was out too. How the heck is this a 4-star hotel?? The place is crumbling and the carpet in the room is filthy. The room is incredibily hot and humid. Definitely not recommend this place to anyone including my worst enemies.
Location and river view.
No hot water in shower both days we stayed. It was very disappointing.
Came for Omega Conclave in 2026. This Hotel has Beautiful Historical architecture waiting for a 21st Refresh that will not take away from its beauty. Shondell was more than hospitable, and Ellie provided the best check-in with a bright smile and voice.
The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. They shared fascinating stories about the hotel’s history and gave us excellent local recommendations for sightseeing.
None.
Very clean facilities, great staff, great location
The hotel is beautiful, but our stay was disappointing. I booked our room through Hotels.com with a gift card only to find that at check-in we were not able to redeem our card because it could not be swiped in their system. Our room smelled moldy when the A/C was on, the sheets were overpowering with bleach, and the hot tub jets had not been cleaned. I am glad we were only there for one night.
My biggest complaint is being told wrong information by the staff. I was told I had 2 fifteen dollar credits for food and turns out that apparently isn’t true. The water for the shower and sink had no adjustment to it and it was set as hot for the shower and very warm for the sink. Called to ask about the charges and was met with sorry you were told that but we can’t do anything about it. Just very disappointed
Very old hotel. I had to switch room because the room had not hot water and too many maintenance issues
Poor housekeeping and maintenance
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay again! I was in astonishment with the whole place!
Nothing to dislike really.
If you are on a budget, it's ok but this place should not have the "Hilton" badge on it, Carpet are filthy, Wet and moldy, Paint in flaking off the wall... bunch of hair on the bathroom floor, in the bath tub too! I have never see so much dust in a room! Will never, ever come back here!!! Room 1401 Bad!
Proximity
I loved the location easy to access
The beds were very comfortable. Little to no outside noise. We spent time in the bar and Isabell was awesome! The front desk staff were great as well as your bellman.

Great location at an historic hotel, room was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay there again.
Light above shower wouldn't work. No body wash. 2 Kleenex and half roll of toilet paper wasn't enough. Elevator was a nightmare. Took forever. Room was not very clean and too hot.
How close it was to stadium
The ac didn't work and the filters were so disgusting with dust it had my sinuses and throat tore up
Beautiful hotel, very good breakfast
We booked a king size bed but got a queen and we had no hot water for shower
Location and design

Location
Staff was not friendly at check in. Long lines, trying to check out they kept telling me too busy and wouldn’t check me out. Air conditioning didn’t work Ice machines didn’t work TV didn’t work well
The hotel is a beautiful historic one in the heart of downtown. It is only 10 minutes from the Great American Baseball stadium and parks.
The bed is small, and the rooms are old, but otherwise good value for money.
Location
Parking, valet se to a public garage across the street. and public garage didn’t have chargers. For directions via phone call and was good to go
I'll start by saying the staff was very friendly. Location was great for walking. That being said, the hotel itself was extremely disappointing. They gave me a handicap room. The shower leaked. Weird wet spots on the bathroom floor, probably from the leak. Toliet was so powerful you had to shut the lid otherwise it left a huge water mess. Ice machine didn't work on my floor, had to go up 3 floors to finally find one that worked. Restaurant was far to pricey. Observation deck was closed ( didn't find that out until I tried to go up there ) I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Beautiful hotel, very cool vibe. A little noisy from the street but not bad. Restaurant is really good. Rooms are a little small. Location is AMAZING. Good choice. Would stay there again, comfy beds.
Overall extremely disappointing and far from Hilton standards. I travel a lot for business & personal, and I often stay at Hilton properties. The Netherlands Plaza is advertised as a more “upscale” Hilton experience, and yet the reality is it is one of the worst Hilton’s I’ve ever stayed. The hotel is very old, which would be great as an historic building, except it hasn’t been upgraded in many, many decades. The hallways and rooms stink of mildew, the lighting is subpar, the carpets are sticky and disgusting, the bathroom smells like mold & old urine, the wallpaper has weird stains, the windows are tiny, cloudy, and don’t open even though they have latches that make it seem like they should. The A/C was pumping full blast constantly and yet the room was never actually cool - it was slightly less muggy than the hallways and outdoors. By comparison, the restaurant in the lobby was like a freezer and even with a long sleeve shirt and jacket, it was cold to the point of being uncomfortable, and the hot food was cold within 10 minutes of being served. Housekeeping didn’t restock coffee cups in the room. Realized this when I woke up, so called & requested, and 45 min later still no cups, walked out of my room & housekeeper was standing with her cart right outside my room, on her phone - not sure if front desk never told her I was waiting for cups, or if she just didn’t care, but she did give them to me when I asked. I had an Amazon package delivered the day before. I had asked for it the evening it was delivered and was told it would be delivered to my room. Waited until 10pm and then gave up and put out privacy sign so I could sleep. Called early the nexxt morning (same time I requested coffee cups), told it would be sent up, 45 minutes later, nothing. Went down to front desk, they said they’d ask security to bring it up to my room, I said I’d wait bc this was now my 3rd request. 20 minutes later still no package. Went up and asked again as it was something I needed, and someone finally brought it, with an attitude. This person just thrust it at me, didn’t make eye contact, didn’t even confirm I was the person waiting on the package, and had I not grabbed it, she would’ve dropped it. She clearly resented having to bring up a package (that had been requested 3 different times at that point). I didn’t ask them to send it to security, had actually let front desk know that they could call me when it was delivered and I’d pick it up. Restaurant is ok. Service at bar is ok, but slow. Other than modified salads, no clean food options (typical for midwest), but again had various levels of attitude. Some folks were extremely nice, helpful, others seemed to resent that I asked for refill of my water after my glass had been sitting empty for 15 minutes. Waited over 20 minutes for a to-go dessert that was clearly a pre-made option even though the restaurant was less than 1/3 full. The one positive is the gentleman who works bell desk. I’ve seen him here every day, he is welcoming, kind, polite & helpful. Also have to acknowledge that the individuals working the front desk, with one exception, were extremely helpful and attempted to help with getting room serviced, package delivered, etc., but were repeatedly unable to get responses from housekeeping & security on the 2-ways (I was standing there several times when they tried). Not sure what’s going on, but seems there is some passive aggressive revolt by service staff which Hilton needs to address, either by addressing the current staff dissatisfaction, or finding staff who are qualified and willing to fill these roles. I don’t think this hotel is worth anywhere near what it cost. I used my aa advantage points and felt it was a waste, especially since they wouldn’t even allow me to pay in cash for an upgrade so I could check in early. I previously stayed at Homewood Suites (also part of Hilton) in Newport, and thought this would be a bit nicer bc I’m here for longer stay due to illness in our family, but I should’ve gone back to Newport. While there wasn’t an on-site restaurant, that hotel is new, clean, and every person I ever dealt with was beyond helpful. It also had much better amenities, a wonderful breakfast buffet, great coffee, and lots of natural light and working ventilation.
First, I want to thank Autumn at the front desk for her exceptional customer service and warm, welcoming attitude. She was incredibly helpful and played a big part in making our family’s stay comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment you walk into the hotel, you’re transported to another era—one where everything felt grand, elegant, and larger than life. The hotel is full of character, history, and charm. You can feel its unique atmosphere the minute you step through the doors. We truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Cincinnati area. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Cincinnati, but what truly made the experience exceptional was Autumn at the front desk. During our stay, we ran into unexpected car trouble while traveling with my mother and our two young children. Autumn went above and beyond to help our family during a stressful situation. Her customer service was outstanding, and she genuinely cared about making sure we were taken care of. The hotel itself is one of the nicest we’ve stayed at in Cincinnati—clean, comfortable, and in a great location. However, it’s the people who make the difference, and Autumn is a perfect example of that. Because of the way she treated our family, we will absolutely be returning in the future. Thank you, Autumn, for your kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help when we needed it most. You made a lasting impression on our family.
Charged twice!
All of it
Nothing, never got to stay there, just spent $250 on a room and couldn't find parking to stay
No parking to get to the hotel, drove around for an hour looking for somewhere to park and never found it. Drove home 3 hours
Location excellent. Near Reds stadium .
Location, price, and room size
The a/c was a little loud
Great customer service and support. The hotel is old but has amazing art deco designs. This was the reason I chose this hotel.
It’s old. It needs a refresh. I stayed on the 29th floor (top) and there is a problem with the ceiling and something dripped on me as I was finding my room. Also, the faucet in my room was leaky.
I attempted to stay at this property on June 19, 2026, with my party and encountered a series of failures across every level of service. Room Selection and Reassignment I paid extra for two high-floor rooms with city views and used my Hilton Rewards account to select specific rooms the night before arrival. Upon check-in, I was informed the hotel had split my party across floors 26 and 8—despite my advance selection. When I raised this concern, the front desk offered only to move us to floor 8, dismissing both my prior selection and the premium I paid. They showed no willingness to honor what I had booked. Room Condition Issues The rooms assigned on floor 8 were unacceptable. One room had wet carpet, visible stains on walls and ceiling, a hole in the wall, and a strong smell of mold. The adjoining room had a hole in the bathtub. I photographed these conditions and reported them to both the front desk and Hilton's 1-800 line. Both responses were essentially "there is nothing we can do"—no apology, no immediate resolution attempt. Broken Promises and Continued Failures The front desk then offered two rooms on floor 10, claiming one would be cleaned within 30 minutes. I waited over an hour—until 9:30 PM—with no housekeeping visit. When I returned to the desk, I was told the second room also had mold issues and was unavailable. Notably, during this time, I watched hotel staff upgrade another guest to floor 26—the exact floor I had paid for initially. The Bottom Line I stay approximately 100 nights annually with Hilton and understand occasional issues happen. What I don't accept is a hotel that makes no attempt to make things right. The front desk sign promises "If you're not satisfied with your stay, let us know and we'll make it right." That commitment was completely abandoned. This was a total breakdown in service, accountability, and customer care. I remain unsatisfied and disappointed.
This hotel was very poorly maintained. There was no pool facility as the renovations started During Covid were never completed. Although I did have hot water, my toilet overflowed on two different days. It was repaired while I was at work but I was suspicious about how sanitary the floor was after that. Mail is not delivered and there is no notification when it arrives. When requested at the desk, they send a porter to the subbasement to check. I am sure I did not receive all the mail sent to me. Black mold was visible on the ceilings of the upper floors and paint was chipping.
When we arrived at the hotel we were told only one of our 2 rooms was ready. We were told that our rooms would be on the same floor next to each other & a note had been left regarding the situation. We left to go to our event. When we arrived back to check into our 2nd room we were told that it would be 3 floors away from our other rooms, and that yes she saw the note. That’s unacceptable. We get to our room, no hot water. And when I saw the bathroom is tiny, I mean tiny. The AC will only cool to 68°. It’s a hot, humid Midwest summer. This place is overrated & overpriced.
The location was perfect for our activities. The breakfast was good. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to help. You thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We were granted up room with a view of the Ohio River but the windows were somewhat smudged and dirty.
I recently stayed at the Hilton Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati and have mixed feelings about the experience. The positives first: the location is outstanding, right in the heart of downtown Cincinnati and within easy walking distance of restaurants, attractions, and businesses. The hotel itself has a tremendous amount of history and character, and despite the guest rooms showing their age and feeling somewhat outdated, it remains an impressive property. Unfortunately, what should have been a very positive stay was overshadowed by an interaction at the hotel bar. As a Hilton Diamond member who has spent years traveling and staying at Hilton properties around the world, this was the first time I have ever experienced such poor treatment from a hotel manager. At approximately 11:11 PM on a Tuesday evening, Duane, the bar manager, began aggressively clearing the bar area, telling guests they needed to leave immediately because the bar was closed. Several guests, including our group, were threatened with having the police called if they did not leave right away. Our group alone had spent more than $400 at the bar that evening, and there were at least eight or nine other groups of hotel guests still seated and socializing. Everyone understands that businesses have closing times, and perhaps Duane was having a difficult day. However, there is a professional and courteous way to handle guests, especially paying hotel guests who have been supporting the establishment throughout the evening. The approach taken was unnecessarily confrontational and left a lasting negative impression. In more than two decades of business travel, I have never encountered anything similar at a Hilton or other property. While I appreciate the hotel’s history, architecture, and excellent location, this experience makes it difficult for me to give the property the strong recommendation I would have otherwise provided.
Location and historical qualities were superb
Not the hotel’s fault, but we wish the shops and “mall” were still located on this property
Location
We are frequent visitors to Cincinnati and typically stay at the Netherlands Plaza. We appreciate the historical esthetic and find the staff very friendly. It is a quick walk to events and venues. Visiting in June 2026, we were upgraded to a suite on the 24th floor (2407). We were attending an event so did not get back to the hotel until after 11 pm. The temperature in the room was 73 degrees, with no air blowing through the air conditioning units. It was too hot, with no air movement. Additionally the air conditioning unit ran constantly and would produce a grinding noise, with the occasional high pitched squeal. By the time we realized this it was after midnight. I was glad I had noise cancelling air pods. Not a great night sleep. We did let the front desk staff know in the morning. Hopefully the next guests will have a better experience.
It was beautiful and the room was extremely unique and very spacious.
Kind of confusing layout downstairs, but once you get the hang of it, you are good. The staff tried to charge me another $400+ for the room and I had to stop her because I KNEW I had paid. She was apologetic, but thank goodness I caught that otherwise I am sure the refund process would’ve taken days.
Close to ball park
Room not clean after not being able to check in 45 minutes past check in because it was still being cleaned. The check in process being messed up and having to go through the whole ordeal again after we had already been in our room.
Generally clean appearance. Walkable to our venue.
A/C very loud Tub drain SLOWWWW, had to shower in standing water The sheets were clean but the duvet needs replaced.
I stayed here for 8 nights (9 days) while in town for the AP Reading. While the hotel’s historic charm and retro decor are definitely cool, the actual stay left a lot to be desired. The Cons: Check-In Delay: College Board informed us check-in was at 4:00 PM, but my room wasn’t ready until well after 7:00 PM, which is unacceptable after a long day of travel. Outdated Climate Control & Utilities: The AC units feel like they’re from the era the hotel opened. You have to leave it blasting on the lowest setting all day just to make the room somewhat comfortable by the evening. The shower hot water barely worked, too. (The only silver lining was that Cincinnati in June is muggy af, so a cold shower wasn't the worst thing, but it’s still broken infrastructure). The Atmosphere: The historic vibe is nice, but overall the property just feels very dark and dingy. Front Desk Response: While the staff was friendly, they seemed totally desensitized to these complaints and didn't seem interested in actually resolving anything. The Pros: Housekeeping: The absolute highlight of the stay. The housekeeping team is incredible—my room was absolutely spotless every single day when I came back, and their hard work was deeply appreciated. Final Verdict: If I am back in the city for another reading in the future, I will definitely be requesting a different hotel. This property is a skip for me.
I had the pleasure of being a part of this spectacular, unique wedding in this dreamlike 1930s setting. I am truly blessed. The hotel staff were kind and professional, the restaurant food options were a-plenty and affordable. The hotel room cost was affordable.
The staff was great and helpful
The room was an absolute disaster. Holes in the sheets, dirty, broken lamp shades, exposed wiring, the shower didn't work, the sink drain was very slow, no microwave, you could see the peeling paint behind the wallpaper, musty smelling. Hands down the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It was so bad that we checked out shortly after arriving and received a full refund. I honestly have no idea how this place is a 4 star hotel. The manager was very nice though.
The staff was friendly for the most part. The housekeeping staff kept our room spotless. The hot water did not work. 4 nights of no hot water. We were told “it’s an old hotel let it run.” We could have let it run the whole stay it was not going to get hot. When I asked about any kind of discount or refund they told me no because I booked through trip advisor.
Stunning hotel. Love that the hotel is being kept in its original state. The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful. Loved the music at the bar! Great ambience.
Service was slow at the bar and didn't enjoy the drinks that much either. The bed was fine, but I think my husband may have been allergic to the pillows. Room was pretty small for what we paid, I think. The outdoor awning could definitely use some work as could the overall "aroma" of the place when we first walk in. It smelled kind of musty and didn't start off with a great impression.
No cold water only hot….. couldn’t shower… plumbing pipes were banging in the walls at all hours of the night…sink had two hot taps no cold see picture… I thought it was just the wrong handle but both were scalding hot.. staff was very dismissive of the problem…. Will never go back
We didn't have warm water all weekend
Great location! and it used to be a very nice hotel...
Room was good. Definitely not an accommodation for a lifetime member. Not even a try. Bar is horrible with the "new" stuff...if you want anything more than a glass of wine, bourbon or a soda - go else. And they do not take the wrong item off your bill. No pool, no launch...
Our group had an enjoyable stay at the historic Hilton Netherland Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. The art deco décor was amazing and so detailed. Our room view of the Ohio River and the NFL stadium was incredible. The food service was first rate. Caroline at the front desk was helpful and professional throughout our stay and was reflective of the excellent staff. Thanks for a great stay.
We stayed here for the historic architecture and full service Hilton amenities. The location is great! The rooms are older but comfortable with everything needed. The breakfast buffet was excellent as was the service and decor.
I choose this location thinking we would walk to Ballgame but we ended up driving. The area is active. The room was excellent, beds were comfortable and clean. We were on 20th floor and view of the city and river was great!
We were very frustrated with check-in process. My reservation check-in time was 4pm-5pm that I choose 2 weeks prior. We arrived 445pm and room was not ready. We sat in lobby for 75 minutes before room was ready. The staff offered nothing extra to help accommodate us and barely received an apology.
I wanted to love this hotel as I booked it due to the historic restaurant and bar decor. Unfortunately it seems the management/owners of the facility are not keeping up with maintenance. While we were at the bar having a drink we noticed large pieces of paint hanging from the ceiling in areas where it had peeled away. Five minutes later almost as if on command, a large chunk of paint 4-5" in size fell from the ceiling and landed next to a gentleman at the bar. I wrote an email to the hotel management after the stay and received a response indicating "The hotel is 96 years old and obviously in need of some upkeep. As you can imagine getting to the ceiling of the restaurant is a monumental task that will require major restoration and not something our staff is able to perform." So, if you chose to visit just know as you are eating or drinking in the lounge and restaurant area, you could have pieces of paint falling from the ceiling into your food/drink. I'm sure with it being so old, it wouldn't contain anything that you shouldn't be eating/drinking.
Location was great.
They didn’t recognize the early check in request unless we signed up for their rewards.
Great customer service!
The hotel is extremely overpriced and overrated. It's a very old hotel with poor maintenance. Also, I had made my reservation a month before going to the hotel, and when I got there, they had sold my room to another guest and I ended up in a room that I didnt want. They told me that they were sold out.
Everything was satisfactory
Musty Smell
Good location in downtown Cincy.
We called ahead to verify if we could check in earl, we were told to arrive at noon. When we arrived our room was not ready. We walked around a while and checked back at 2. Still not ready. We checked two more times, we were told they were very full and they offered us a queen or double room. I declined at first. When our room was still not ready at 4:15, we finally accepted the downgrade. The room was extremely small, and all facilities were very dated. At a place, the hotel appears opulent, but looks are deceiving.
Convenient walk to Great American Ballpark for a Reds game. Rooms were spacious and clean. Parking in the Mabley garage was easy.
Our room AC unit would not get any cooler than 70 degrees, so it was hot and difficult to sleep. Breakfast at their restaurant was included with our stay and when we went for breakfast, the staff was a little less than friendly and seemed very overwhelmed or understaffed despite a mildly busy appearing restaurant. We were urged to utilize the buffet instead of made to order menu. No coffee refills and our waitress disappeared for so long we just left our voucher on the table and left so we wouldn’t miss check out.

Location
Lost my boooking Charged for an extra day Staff unaccomodating Rooms very small Extra charges for everything
Location great, Hotel bit outdated furniture.
Billed our card for Breakfast even though it was included in the booking fees.
Our stay at this old-time luxury hotel was wonderful! It was a lovely hotel, built around 1931 and had old-time glamour. Some people may think that hospitality is simply their "business" and while that may be true, I want to mention some OUTSTANDING people there who made OUR stay like we were staying with "family": Courtney and Mahili (restaurant); Sheena (bar/lounge); Max (front desk/check-in) and Anthony (bell desk). These SPECIAL people surely made hospitality look EASY and it is because of them that we would like HONORABLE MENTION to go out to them!!! Thanks, Hilton, for doing this one RIGHT (like all your hotels!).
Historic renovations, decor, atmosphere
Self parking available -- but VERY difficult parking in garage and access to lobby from garage down flight of stairs, with luggage, difficult
Location is nice with a lot to do around. Bed was comfortable and room was nice and clean.
The parking pass was somewhat confusing and it was a little hard to find the hotel itself having never been there before. Finding my way out of the building later in the evening when doors are locked up was somewhat confusing as well.
Strongly discourage booking for any team related event. Tried to book a room block like we have done many times; and once they set it up you are obligated for 80% of the rooms even up to 60 days prior to event. 30 days prior to our scheduled stay our tournament got cancelled; so we tried to cancel the rooms and were charged a $3,000.00 cancellation fee. After trying to explain the situation and how a 5th grade baseball team does not have $3,000.00 to just burn; they still would not waive the fee and instead only gave us a room credit for 12 rooms to use; almost $100.00 more per room than originally quoted. We ended up having 10 families willing to travel to Cincinnati and stay to help cover the cost even though event was cancelled. To make matters worse; they only had 9 rooms available with our promised 2 double queen beds; so one of the families had to stay in a single bed room. Extremely disappointed on how the entire thing was handled and needless to say would never stay or recommend any team to stay at this hotel.
Nice, clean
No complimentary parking or breakfast for the price
One of the reasons we love this hotel is because each time we stay, staff members always go above and beyond. This time, it was Tanesha at the reception desk. She made this a Mother’s Day weekend we’ll never forget with her thoughtfulness. Can’t say enough about her hospitality!
Great location. Walking distance to many restaurants.
Part of the ceiling in our room had a giant crack and looked like it was going to fall. The shower water was either scalding hot or ice cold. There was no in between. I mentioned it to the front desk and the lady at the desk was very rude.
Had the absolute WORST experience here causing us to end our stay early. Will never return! The story is ridiculous, bullet points to avoid an essay. *Line was over an hour to check in. *Deluxe room (paid extra for) was still not ready by housekeeping 90 minutes after check in started (530pm) despite a confirmed check in 4 hours earlier via phone with the same staff at 130pm same day. *Forced to take a standard room instead of Delux room we paid for w/o compensation or refund of price difference. *Standing water in shower / drained slowly over-night. * Maintenance called THREE times the following morning to repair the overflowing toilet. Five (5) hours later they eventually told us they couldn't fix it and we would have to change rooms. *Front desk told Expedia they had no room available to switch us to, forcing us to cancel plans and leave a day earlier. (They initially acted like they had a room for us (still not a deluxe because I asked), but when I contacted Expedia to discuss everything we were going through and their rep called to confirm the issues, Max then told them they didn't have a room for us at all.) *Poor customer service / was told to go through Expedia for any issues or refunds since that is who I booked with instead of Hilton directly. Staff attitude seems to look down on you when you don't book with Hilton direct (I.E. Front desk clerk MAX). *Breakfast bar was out of most everything, or it was dried and old. Only one server for tables on a Sunday morning (w. a sold out hotel night the day prior) so no service to order outside of the laughable buffet. All yogurts had expired in early March, several weeks prior to our stay at the end of April. ($25.00 PP cost - we were given "tickets" since we had a downgraded room. I would be even more incensed if we had paid that cost for it!) *No parking - attached garage is $37 per day or $47 per day for valet (Use the garage across the street or down the block to save money) *Six elevators but only 1-3 working at a time. Wait time for elevators is very long at check-in. *Very dingy, outdated, dirty, decor. Carpet needs replacing or at least cleaned, upholstery in sitting and dining areas is ripped, torn, stained, and peeling. Chairs in the rooms are stained, especially office chairs. No updated tech for charging phones if you use a USB-C cord. Better bring a brick and plug it into the floor outlet. *Room refrigerator barely works *No microwaves in room *Flat hard pillows and plastic-like sheets/comforters *Advertises room service online but doesn't have it. *Pool has been closed since 2018 *No vending machines on individual floors, forcing you to spend money in the pricey gift shop instead. (3 regular soda bottles were $12)
I want to share a serious incident that happened to me at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza on April 21, 2026. I was on official business travel. I had reservations at Embassy Hilton, I was moved to this hotel without my consent due to overbooking. After checking in with valid ID, I was later accused of fraud because the hotel attached the WRONG Hilton rewards account to my reservation. Instead of verifying the issue professionally, security dressed in plain clothes pounded on my door, refused to leave when I asked, and later took photos of me on his personal phone. I was told multiple times that police were on the way and that I was part of a “serious investigation.” Multiple people were involved, I asked numerous times what the issue was. The manger said the police would explain more when they get there. I told them I had chest pains and I needed to know what was going on and they did nothing but to continue to question me. I asked the manager if I could show him my travel orders and my work id and he goes upstairs with me to my room and his face turns so red, but he continues to tell me the police is coming. I even told him a coworker was on sight that could identify me and they said they didn’t want to involve more people. After HOURS of stress and confusion, the hotel admitted it was THEIR mistake. This is not just bad customer service—this is a failure in safety, judgment, and accountability. Had the nerve to say they will use this as training. The hotel was so dirty. No guest should be treated like this. @HiltonHotels — this deserves more than a simple apology.
The night manager Tenesha took care of us very well.
Beautiful
The environment was great, everyone was nice and helpful. The hotel was clean and if you needed anything, the staff was right there to help.

If you want to stay somewhere with character then you must stay here. If you are bothered by imperfection, you will be frustrated. I was here for a meeting. The art deco splendor of this building is one of the most impressive that I have ever seen. Everywhere you look there are items of such breathtaking detail, from the etching on the elevator, the light fixtures, the mirrors. I really have never seen anything like it. -other plus-free, big gym -location The building is old. -The room: a bit worn, is clean, bathroom not big. Cleaning service effective. Not loud but walls thin. (In fairness, I have stayed at $500 rooms in other cities that were as word recently but these rooms are not new) the carpet is worn but super clean and beds seem very new. Doors are very old. -the showers are the worst part-the water is not hot and you have to run it for a LONG time to get warm. They need to fix this -Parking and getting there-I drove around the block three times. You have to pull in this narrow tunnel into valet. The valet was fast but $$$ ($50/night) and I did not need my car during stay but I think there is some limit on getting your car ? -Staff-sone were helpful and nice, some were not -There is coffee maker but you can get carry out coffee in restaurant. Bottom line-I would stay again because life is short and who needs a cookie cutter hotel every night but if the things I noted would bug you maybe go elsewhere. The building is
Check in.
The room was beat. Hole in the desk chair upholstery, bathroom door broken, windows were filthy, everything needed painted. The parking price is high and the process to pay is cumbersome - 5 minutes!
Lobby is cute
Rooms are very dated and not cleaned well. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the paint was chipping. The base boards were molding and the AC unit did not work when we checked in. There was a used bar of soap left on the bathroom self, and it had a hair on it.
The property was beautiful but the staff and management were awful.
Late check in and no compensation
Historically valuable.
Don't waste your time. Just a nasty experience. we spent two nights here on a business trip because it is a walking distance from the convention center. I will never stay here again. Bathtub wall had streaks of hair on it. I notice it in the middle of my shower. We woke up the next. morning to find the work table and chair in the room covered with ants. I have never seen so many ants in my life. This hotel was a huge disappointment. Look somewhere else.
It was in the perfect location for our trip!! The hotel was very well kept and the beds were comfortable!
We stayed on the 27th floor and we had no hot water. Also had complications with entering our hotel room but that was solved rather quickly.
