Great value overall! And amazing help from front desk staff, in particular Chaitali :)

It was clean, staff were friendly, kids enjoyed the pool, and the room had a full fridge and kitchenette.

The bed was too soft for me.

There needs to be wheelchair friendly ramps installed to get inside hotel, very hard for some people, and for people like my wife who needs something to sit on in the shower would be very helpful.

Very unclean rooms. We actually had to switch because they put us in such a dirty room it felt like a jail cell, except in jail it is probably brighter. The lights did not work, there was hair on our bed and sink. Didn’t look like anything was wiped down in our room. Made us feel very gross we asked for a refund but management would not let it happen. So they switched us to a different room.

It was close enough but I am not a big fan of Denny’s

I didn’t like there was no smoking area and in the online bookstore there is nothing that states there isn’t handicap access upstairs because of the no elevator

We had a wonderful stay at Sandman Hotel Vernon. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and provided everything we needed for a relaxing visit. A special thank you to Manager Khaled A for making sure our stay was smooth and enjoyable. He was extremely professional, friendly, and helpful, and his attention to detail and excellent customer service truly made a difference. It was great to experience such warm hospitality. The staff were welcoming, and the overall experience was excellent. We really appreciated the service and comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend Sandman Hotel Vernon to anyone looking for a pleasant stay with great customer service. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice staff, clean

Location would have been nicer closer to the beach

While it offers an affordable stay to people passing through, the location is not good, especially if you have to park in back where the train tracks run. Theft is rampant in this area (and in Vernon in general apparently), and our utility trailer was broken into with thousands of dollars of camping gear stolen overnight! Another woman we know had her car vandalized overnight just a few weeks prior, making her car undriveable. The hotel takes no responsibility and has signs posted outside saying so...but this hotel chain could certainly afford to put up some security cameras and signs alerting thieves they are being watched, as a deterrent!

Air conditioning in 2 of the 3 rooms didn't work. After a quick check of the AC filter, it appeared to not have been cleaned in a very long time. Even the AC in the hallways were not on. ( it was extremely warm that day).

Staff were welcoming, kind, informative and helpful. Room was mostly very clean (not the bathroom tiles) with a renovated bathroom - done well in parts (see below). Room was very quiet which was much appreciated and bed linens and bath robes lovely !

Crazy A/C heater unit that could not be shut down. It's old, and incredibly noisy. Hard to program -- not user friendly. NEW ONES PLEASE. Pool is OK... but dark and dank. Needs upgrading. Standing lamp in room didn't work TV is WAY too high to view well, from the awkward round sofa provided.... and that thing takes up too much usable space and is very heavy to shift. These need to be sold.... they are ridiculous. Renovated bathrooms need someone to go in and clean up the messy grout and silicone finishing, and paint things properly. It's worth paying a solid tradesman to do this.... and install decent shower heads please. *****The whole place should be properly renovated, imho, if it's to stay compatible in its strata of hotels. Corp/ Head Office need a heads up.

We paid extra, through Bookings.com, for early check in, I called to confirm the night before our arrival, when we arrived the hotel had no record of my early check in or my confirmation. The lady at the front desk went above and beyond to get us a room and make good on what I thought we had paid for. Thank you Chaitali you saved the day.

One of the beds had a stained blanket that we didnt notice until the morning since we got in late but the staff got us new bedding right away for the rest of our stay

My friend and I recently booked the Sandman Hotel in Vernon as our basecamp for a local golf trip, and overall, it was a good experience. Check-in was completely smooth, and the location is incredibly convenient. It sits right on the main street coming into the city, making it easy to navigate, and it’s close to plenty of restaurants and shopping for after a day on the course. The room itself was well-appointed and had everything we needed, including a fridge and microwave, which always comes in handy. It is worth noting that the room and the property as a whole are a bit dated and could definitely use a modern refresh. That said, everything was clean and perfectly fine for what we needed. Our only real snag was with the air conditioning. The unit in our room wasn't functioning properly and just wouldn't cool the space down. I do want to give credit to the staff, though. They were very responsive and genuinely tried to help us troubleshoot and fix the AC, even though they were ultimately unable to repair it during our stay. All things considered, if you need a convenient, practical place to crash while staying in Vernon, this is a reasonable choice with good staff.

We were travelling for a funeral and they made our stay very welcoming. Even allowing us to keep a vehicle on their lot a few hours after checkout while we attended the service. They were so kind.

Staff, front desk and housekeeping were exceptional.

It was Victoria day so there was a loud party for 2 of my 4 nights. They couldn't control the volume.

Quality control upon checkin to ensure everything is working properly including that cards for entry into the room worked each day. As well, poor maintenance: bathroom door was only partly painted, caulking in the shower was done very poorly, sink tap was loose, rust showing in shower where caulked over top - just not done properly.

There was a musty smell to our room when we first opened the door, and there was no way to air it out. The room is quite small, with no room to open suitcases. The bathroom is also a very tight space, and the noise from the road outside, the train line and other guest rooms was quite loud at times.

-Having a check-in issue Was told they didn't take debit/credit card for security deposit $150 She asked how I reserved the room without a credit card, told her with my debit/credit card Lady said they were not going to be able to let me stay there so I was stressed and annoyed I asked how do I get my room money back she says you will have to contact booking.com She didn't mention until she said all of that, that I could use my credit/debit card but it would cost $250 I was fine with that, I don't know why she couldn't have said that before she went to you can't stay here without a credit card -Found long head hairs on toilet seat -TV doesn't have much channels

Everything was good. The attached Denny’s restaurant was surprisingly good.

The INDOOR pool was NOT heated. WAY too cold for ANYONE to swim. Basicly an unused pool in the colder months.

The face of a hotel is determined by the staff at front desk. If you’re gonna put a staff who does not know to communicate in a proper manner then you’re gonna be losing customers. Please train your staff not to be snobs.

The location is convenient. The gym is basic but functional.

Location was perfect to access the centre and also Village Shopping Centre. Good sized room and good to have a fridge. Staff were really helpful

A kettle for tea would have been better than a microwave. The breakfast at Denny's is a little expensive and I would advise people to walk to Starbucks as an alternative

Front desk guy Josh was fantastic. Friendly, welcoming, professional.

Bathroom floor wasn't clean when we got there, had paw prints and stains that needed to be wiped with wet towel. Room felt just a little cramped and small for two adults and two doggos.

No elevator

We stayed at the Sandman in Vernon, BC for 6 nights. Right from the first moment of arrival we were greeted warmly by the General Manager. We travel with our Golden Retriever and she was welcomed with enthusiasm, treats, and snuggles. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was the best we have ever had with a super shower head, lots of hot water and amazing water pressure. There was plenty of parking and a Denny's attached to the hotel. The entire staff reflected Mr. Ali's warmth and enthusiasm. We wouls highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vernon.

This is an older hotel, but it is very clean, comfortable, safe and very reasonable priced. Great location. I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for a great stay!

I’m not sure how the rooms were because I was unable to stay. The hotel requires guests to pay a $150 deposit that can only be done with a credit card. The woman at the front desk was apologetic and I get it, it’s not her policy, but it’s not advertised on this site or on theirs. Plus it’s ridiculous that it can’t just be paid with a debit card. I had to drive over an hour to get home then go to work in the morning. Furthermore I’m having a hell of a time getting a refund for my room because I was charged by hotels.ca after booking the room even though I was told when booking the room I wouldn’t be charged. I tried to cancel the booking, but was told it’s not possible because check in had passed. Fine, tried to get some help with customer service and they can’t find my booking with my name or phone number. I had to search for 15 minutes to find a number to call customer support but of course no one can find my phone number. I can’t find a confirmation email and I can only talk to customer service if I have a confirmation number. So now unless I get this fixed and refunded I’m out $118. I’m not happy with how this booking site is run.

Everything great except for three small things. One—the mini fridge was too cold and was freezing things. Two—- one of my pet peeves from many hotels— the plug did not work in the bathroom sink which makes it difficult to shave or wash your face. Three—the hot and cold symbols were reversed on the shower faucet so my wife almost scalded herself when she tried to take a shower. But the bed was good, the room was clean, and it was quiet.

2 of our kitchenette rooms had ant issues. Not a few a lot- they were swarming out of the floor and walls! One of our rooms had a cracked tub, and you could see rust around the faucet. With dogs allowed, expect to hear them bark through the night. Not recommended!
