It was convenient for our journey. Breakfast was fine.
There was a fan/extractor outside the window of the room which was noisy. There was no toilet brush, no plug for the wash basin and also no hand rails for the bath/ shower. Dust on several surfaces. The bar was extremely noisy and the food was below standard.
Everything you could need and always great value. We always find the staff excellent as they are friendly and go out tgeir way to make your stay great
Decor a little tired in places
Loved the room! Large, very comfortable bed, good hairdryer, plenty of space. Breakfast was also particularly good too.
The furniture in the bar is a little bit dated and worn out, but I expect they will replace it at some point.
Friendly staff comfy bed and great breakfast
Rooms could do with bitta paint
The hotel did not cater for people with disabilities, the room was lovely and clean
You had to go up steps to get to the lift so it was not suitable for my husband who had to use his stroller due to walking problems
Nice bar and restaurant on site friendly helpful staff
The bar prices are a bit high
Very central to our needs
In need of redecoration
The staff were mostly friendly and polite. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, full marks to her. The bed was super comfy. clean bedding and towels Plenty of parking. Tea tray topped up (after asking ) daily and room , towels etc replenished, cleaned. Toiletries good quality . Bin emptied daily.
When we asked a couple of staff working on laptops for more towels and a teaspoon as only one in room, they looked at us like we had asked for gold! The paint needs re doing, the bathroom badly needs redorating , shampoo dispenser was broke and left that way. No streaming services, for the price of the room this should be standard, breakfast should be we felt in the price but wasn’t. Only one teaspoon, no complimentary biscuits.
Close to Dunston Hall where we were attending a wedding. The room was clean and comfortable. All of the staff we met were friendly and efficient and the food we had was tasty and good value for money.
Nothing to dislike
Bedroom was very clean and comfortably sized for a couple of nights.
Food in the restaurant was poor quality. Steaks were overcooked (and definitely needed the sharp steak knives which were provided) but waiter did not appear to ask how the meal was until after I had finished and then provided a glib answer when I complained. No WIFI in the bedrooms and no opportunity to get a WIFI extender from the hotel.
Very pleasant and courteous staff.
The room was tired. Bathroom adequate. Sink tap needs attention. Quite stiff to move. Soap dispenser not very efficient. Would be difficult to use for people with limited movement in fingers and hand. No non slip mat provided. A must for 70+ like me and my husband. The bed was very uncomfortable with a noticeable dip. We had a meal in the hotel. Very poor. My gammon and pineapple were very well done. Meant the gammon was very dry and tough and the pineapple burnt on both sides. Breakfast again was very over done. The sausages were burnt to a ruin..i will not eat here again or stay here.
Location for visiting family
Could do with abit of an update on the furnishings
Great location.
Could do with an update on the furnishings.
Staff were so lovely on the bar! Location is gorgeous, as well as the room. Bed was super comfortable, overall style and cleanliness of the room was also great!
The staff were really friendly, helpful and professional. The room was really comfortable.
The adjoining area from the pub to the rooms had huge holes in the ceiling where pipework had been re. Needs filling and a radiator as smelt damp.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. The food was good as was the service.
A bit more attention could be paid to the cleaning of the bathroom. There were marks in the shower and the back of the bathroom door. The stairs railings hadn't been dusted for some time

Location was great was here last year do used again so I could attend a wedding nearby
The room was not clean I have photos. Hairs on bedding one bed not even changed. Bathroom had pubic hairs. Very dirty I only hovered over the toilet.
The room was spacious. The bed was large and comfortable
Unfortunately the day we arrived had been quite warm and sunny. The room was on the first floor under the roof so was uncomfortably warm. Cooling it down was difficult because the window didn't open very far. The second night was much better, as the day had been cooler and showery. The free wifi didn't seem to be working in the room
Great room and service
Excellent location great staff.

All was very good
离查茨沃斯庄园不远,自驾去玩住这里很方便,有免费停车场。
Lovely and clean and the staff are really friendly
Large, firm bed, bath, handy having the pub for food
The whole package... Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room. Good food.
Plenty of parking. Good bar. Good clean rooms.
Nothing that I could dislike.
I liked how staff joined in with customers for fun.
I did not like one of the older staff members serving breakfast. She could smile and speak to people pleasantly. Too old for a young place.
Un sitio con mucho encanto, muy cómodo y limpio. Las camas son comodísimas, el desayuno genial y la gente que trabaja allí es súper maja. Además, el parking fenomenal, lo que hace la estancia aún más cómoda. Totalmente recomendable!!
Spacious, comfortable room Great value
Nothing
Staff were really friendly, couldn't do enough. Food was good and room was fine. Bed really comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
Uneatable evening meal
Food
Great welcome and service from the Staff
Although the hotel is tired and needs a makeover the staff do there best in keeping it clean the rooms are very nice and bed linen fresh and beds very comfortable all staff are very observant I was booked into upstairs room but the receptionist notice I had a walking stick she changed to a down stairs room staff all very friendly we had breakfast and this one day a staff member had gone of sick so KAY was on her own but still with a smile and a laugh breakfast was done and very nice it was
Only that Marsdens could put a bit of money in to a it to tart it up a bit
Breakfast was lovely value for money and staff was very friendly and helpful
clean , staff very kind
internet connection is a problem
We stayed during the heatwaves, but the room temperature wasn't managed carefully. The curtains could have been drawn to keep the sun out. Or put in air-conditioning
The staff
Very friendly staff good room a very comfortable bed clean
早餐美味,地理环境好。
Staff at breakfast were very good. Bar staff very good. Bed was comfortable and room had enough space with enough storage.
No bottle water supplied or biscuits which was a disappointment. Maybe the hotel could add a vending machine so guests could buy water and other supplies similar to other hotels I have stayed at. Vending machines can now stock a variety of products not just food and drink.
Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble.
Nothing
Very clean and the food was perfect
Nothing
It was a very good stay with big clean comfortable rooms, very friendly staff and a good choice of food and drinks. The price for the stay was good for the time of year and location.
Only monir issue was the parking for the hotel end is very limited but on site, a very short walk, is a big car park.
Staff very friendly and helpful
All good. Didn’t have use the car as could get bus into chesterfield
Friendly staff, great room and great pub right outside your door.
Staff parking accommodation
The nice setting and the friendly staff alongside the nice spacious room I had.
Drinks a little on the expensive side
Location, comfortable room, parking fine, plenty of sitting/dining areas.
The food was very poor - evening meal and breakfast. It was typical pub food but about the worst we have ever had.
Food I had was excellent
Building and some aspects of decor looking very tired, eg window frame paint flaking, carpets worn and stained
Excellent location and price for a visit to Chatsworth. Staff in particular were really lovely and friendly. Twin room was huge and very comfortable and breakfast had an excellent choice and was very nice. Cant fault it. Superb value for money
Maybe slightly upgrade in loo roll quality if I'm being picky!
Location and rooms were very quiet so got a good nights sleep
Friendly staff, good sized room which was very quiet and comfortable.
Good value, great size rooms with everything you need, typical marstons food, loveley staff who go out there way to help you, plenty of parking and easy to get to
Decor and fittings are a little tired and let down what could be great facilities but for a budget place to stay its great
Friendly staff
Nothing really, room was a bit too warm.
The down to earth staff member I spoke to. I liked my room Adequate parking I liked the area it was in.
I chose not to eat after the music the DJ was playing was just too loud The rubbish music he was playing is more suited to pubs and not places that have a restaurant service. Had the volume been lower like i experience in other restaurants then that would have been acceptable as this short experience was just unbearable. Also the really loud music from the speaker at the entrance around 9am. How long had that been going on and your Neighbours? I ask that management take a look at this issue as I will be leaving feedback to their face, if I have to put up with this again as I do plan to return.
There is plenty of free parking, and the location was good for our purposes. The cooked breakfasts were good.
The continental breakfast was underwhelming.
Great base for Peak District. Staff were lovely and friendly, knowledgeable with places to visit. Great menu selection, ample parking, comfortable has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Location was good with easy access into Peak district. Room had tea/coffee making facility. The half fried eggs and hash browns were good. Toast was freshly made too which was also good. Staff was friendly.
About the room : The room was basic and we are happy it had tea/coffee facility. But there were no hand tissues, the bathroom tub was always filling up with water within 30 seconds of shower being on. I also informed reception about this issue, but it was not solved even till the day we left the hotel. There was black mould in bathroom ceiling. Breakfast was not too satisfactory, except some options. Porridge was prepared using water and lumps of milk powder. First day when I asked for a breakfast option of smashed avocado, they did not have that option. Next day when they had it, it was simply shop bought guacamole, not a proper prepared fresh avocado. We were not happy with this.
Clean room, friendly staff, great location. Always my go to place when I visit my kids
Nothing
We had an amazing stay at Olde House, Chesterfield by Marston’s Inns. The location is very convenient for visiting the Peak District, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Every member of staff, both at the hotel and the bar, was incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable, providing the perfect place to relax after a day out. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay in the area.

Staff friendly breakfast was good, well looked after.
We decides to have evening meal there and we both had pies chicken and mushroom pie and steak and ale. The pastry was rock hard couldnt cut through with knife, it put my husband completely of his meal. It was like it had been warmed in a mircowave
Spacious room, comfortable bed
Poor choice of breakfast, unless someone likes ‘English breakfast’
Very spacious room and comfortable bed.
Whole building, pub & rooms, faded and Marston’s need to refurbish. Other Marston’s I know are much better.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was ok.
Facilities were fairly poor / basic. I have never experienced such poor quality of toilet paper at any hotel I have ever stayed in. The shower gel had come off the wall and was actually handwashing not shower gel anyway. Info in the bedroom made no reference to the wifi password.
Está impecable y el personal es encantador

Easy walking distance to Chesterfield and the food was good
Loved everything
All of it

Very friendly staff.
Had to Uber into town, but it wasn't too expensive.
Good choices, hot food, pleasant staff
Broken soap dispenser in bathroom
Great pub. Friendly staff. Room was a good size and very clean.
All good with accommodation. Rooms spacious with comfy beds, nice food in the pub downstairs.
Bathroom needs some good clean as sealants were mouldy.
Breakfast was really good Restaurant was good value for money Room was spacious and clean Events in the pub family friendly throughout the week but no noise in the bedroom :) Sam and the other staff members were really kind and helpful
We would have prefer the shower box (instead of the bath)
Room was lovely, comfortable, spotless, plenty of tea, coffee and milk
Bathroom had two soap dispensers, one was empty and the other had gone off the wall.
Close to Sheffield and Peak District. Possibility to park the car for free, was very nice! Breakfast was good. Staff was busy but friendly. It is possible to have dinner as well, reasonable price. Shower and bath were good.
It is a bit “noisy”, you can hear tv and noise from room next door. Hard to open a window for fresh air.
Clean room
Awful pub, bad service, nasty greasy breakfast, rubbish beer
Hotel is completely separate from bar and quiet even if an event on.
Lovely comfy big bed, nice room, all the facilities we needed, great value for money, really friendly helpful staff at all times
Kokybiskas ir skanus maistas,geras aptarnavimas
Viskas gerai
Staff were very friendly and helpful
A little dated
Plenty of parking. Great location for exploring further afield. I just had breakfast but the food was good.
The walls are very thin and you can hear everything from your neighbours.
Location. Room size. Good shower. Free parking. We received a friendly welcome.
Thin walls and noisy neighbours. Breakfast wasn't great. I'd asked for decaf tea bags and oat milk for my room when I booked, well in advance of staying, but didn't get either. There was also no oat milk at breakfast.
comfortable bed and although basic the room was clean.
The evening meal was disappointing
Clean, friendly and quiet, in a good place
This was my fifth stay as I came to Chesterfield for work. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower (over the bath) is powerful. As ever the staff are friendly and welcoming. I'm returning again in August. There is a large carpark so easy to park and safe.
Nothing!
Stay was nice, food was not
Poor quality food
Location, cleanliness, not a bad evening meal
The breakfast wasnt the best
The staff are brilliant. Teri is ace
