Charming Family Hotel

Really nice home! It had free WiFi and very secure despite never seeing any staff who were accessible if needed. It’s in a quiet neighborhood despite being on a busy road. We just stayed one night so perfect for a quick stay.

Parking was a little confusing at first. The room was an the older side, and the mattresses seemed old and a little soft. Location was a little out of the way, you definitely need a car.

The location was close proximity to the Tswassen Ferry terminal.

First, its not a hotel, it's a house. It is situated right on a very busy and noisy road. We could not find the address in the dark due to the broken light over the wooden address sign. We were alloted a parking spot was too small and blocked by the garbage cans. The downstairs sitting area has not been cleaned in awhile. The room itself was meh. The a/c was noisy. The bathroom was clean, but there was a cockroack trap by the toilet along with a dirty mop. The best part was the sign on the door adving to keep tge door closed to keep the rats out.

Das Hotel ist ein Wohnhaus mit winzigen Zimmern, man muss sich ein Bad mit Gästen teilen. Das geteilte Bad ist nicht das wie auf den Bildern. Wenn man das Haus betritt ist stickig und uns kam ein unangenehmer Uringeruch entgegen. An der Tür hängt ein Zettel, dass man bitte die Tür aufgrund der Ratten geschlossen halten solle. Das Badezimmer war dreckig, es lag angebrochene Zahnpasta herum. Im Zimmer selbst hing eine Damen-badehose im Schrank, dazu war es extrem staubig und überall waren Haare auf dem Boden. Im Beistelltisch neben dem Bett waren unidentifizierbare dunkle Krümel und Überbleibsel von vorherigen Gästen. Die Kissen im Bett hatten Schweißränder. Allgemein wirkten die ausgedruckten Zettel extrem schäbig, die überall im Haus verteilt hängen. Man darf nach 12 Uhr nicht mehr duschen. Das Haus liegt an einer sehr lauten Straße, und die Mückengitter sind defekt. Dafür mehr Geld als für ein Hostel zu verlangen und es „Charming Family Hotel“ zu nennen ist einfach nur extrem frech. Hier werden Sie von vorne bis hinten abgezockt. Stornierung nur in voller Höhe des Buchungspreises möglich.

Friendly and responsive host.

Roms are extremely noisy. You hear noise from the street, and you hear everything from other rooms. The bathroom isn't clean. Private parking is only available if you come early enough to park before other guests arrive.

Very basic in a very good way. If all you need is a clean, comfortable place to lay your head, no frills, at a decent price then this is the place. Very prompt with communication as she provides her direct number.

I enjoyed my stay. lovely facilities. A more convenient coffee set up would be nice.

I didn't like anything about this property. The only thing good is I didn't pay alot. The closest restaurant was a 20 minute walk away. There was only coffee, no tea, no creamers. There was no TV. The garbage bin had not been emptied. I would not recommend staying here unless you have a car and don't want to pay a lot of money for a room.Expedia should remove it from it's approved list.

Lovely, quiet area to walk in. Parking area is tight for big vehicles. Very clean.

We couldn’t get any hot water out of the faucets on our 2-night stay. There was so no TV, which wasn’t an issue for me, but it was a big issue for my husband! It would’ve been nice to have a microwave and mini-fridge in the room too.

Nothing, really. Apparently, I made a mistake in booking. I was sure that I reserved the room with private bathroom, but it turned out that it wasn't -- so that may be on me.

I didn't like that it was on the 2nd floor. I didn't like that it had road noise, so rest was next to impossible. I didn't like that the quiet time was midnight and not the more common 10pm. I didn't like that I ended up with shared bathroom reservations. I didn't like that there was nobody available to assist in person. And no, the bed wasn't comfortable, since you asked.

Clean property and close to Richmond for great food!

The room was clean and nicely appointed, comfortable and roomy. Only interesting thing is we never saw anyone else there during our stay, not that it was anything bad.

The "Charming hotel" is a very contractor grade home that is renting out each bedroom. Feels like a boarding house. No tv in the bedrooms. It was quite a long walk just to find a Grocery store or restaurant. On a busy street. There are a few parks nearby which is nice. The room was clean. I'm traveling on business and probably would just pay for a regular hotel room next time.

Very unclear when we booked that toilet & bathroom were shared. No sink in room. Very poor views of mountains or gardens.

This was my first truly terrible experience renting a room. I could never have imagined there would be a house rule prohibiting guests from showering after 10 PM — especially when this rule was never mentioned in the listing. I drove from Calgary to BC and arrived around 9:30 PM. The host did not allow us to shower after 10 PM, and while I was in the middle of my shower, the water system was shut off. I couldn’t even finish washing myself. I respectfully request that Booking review this host’s standards and listing practices. Not only was this rule unreasonable and undisclosed, but the way it was enforced was completely unacceptable and caused significant discomfort.

Comfortable, easy to find, host helpful.

Unlike the description, there is practically no onsite parking. (1 spot for 4 rooms). Self check in went about as poor as it could go. We came into a dirty common room with empty food packaging left around. Our room was supposed to be locked, instead the door was open and it was snickering hot in there. The room floor was dirty as well as walls and closet doors. Lots of damage to be spotted all around the room. The room is tiny and looks nothing like the pictures. Our room shared a wall with the common bathroom, which made it very noisy because of both loud plumbing and guests. I won't be back here.

This was an amazing experience despite my misinterpretation of what family meant! Una was a gracious host with a charming little hotel, that is owned by her family. Our room was the size of an apartment in Europe, with all necessary amenities for a wonderful stay. We stayed 2 nights and picked blueberries and strawberries at the neighboring property for breakfast with our granola and yogurt. Very enjoyable experience for me, my wife and our 8 year old daughter.

We stayed one night with two bedrooms booked. We checked in late with no issues. The owner however told us to keep it down while coming in. No issues.

The room and bathroom was dirty. There was hair all over the bathroom and the shower. The sides in the bedroom had dust and used co don and pink balloons with dust behind the dresser. It was disgusting. We didn’t see this until morning moved the dresser to charge the phone.

Home was very quiet and in a really safe neighborhood across from a berry farm where you can pick your own berries. Beds were really comfortable and i couldnt hear my friend get in/out of bed at all. Drawbacks one towel for 4 nights, no washcloths, no room refrigerators, no tv, no utensils, old supplies from past guests left in bathroom. Easily remedied, wouldnt prevent me from going back again

Good clean accommodation. Well situated for the airport approx 20 minutes away. Bit awkward to find initially.

They upcharge after you have booked if you have more than 2 people staying even though the room is advertised for 4 with no mention of having to pay more. We had our 2 children with us and had to pay $50 each after I had already booked and paid. Floors were not vacuumed, windows had mold on them. No a/c. Bathroom shower had not been cleaned prior to our stay.

My stay here was relaxing after a long flight from the east. Check in was easy and information was provided in the email. The host was friendly, understanding and accommodating in the sense that she allowed me early check in for a fee and let me check out a bit later. The room was clean with a small dining table( with a coffee maker and mugs) couch and a nice view from the window. It turns out, you have to be on the quieter side when staying here so other guests do not get disturbed. Like you cannot play music if you have portable speakers. The washroom was clean and shared but I never had issues when I used it. The shower facilities could be better as the shower door did not have a handle. Other improvements could be to have tissues or wet tissues in the room. This is more ideal for solo travellers who want to rest or work quietly I guess. The area was not bad as it was 14 minutes from the airport and 24 hours shoppers drug mart. Nearby I saw a lot of Asian and sushi restaurants. It is kind of out of the way of main areas so you have to go a bit further to catch sky train to get to downtown. Overall my experience was nice and the host made my stay comfortable more so with the check in check out requests.

Was my second time staying here and will keep in mind for the next time im in town. Loved it!

Good accommodation, good location, had to change room due to shower malfunction.

Not impressed at all. Bed was way to hard, no place to plug your phone in at bedside and when I pulled night stand out to find outlet for phone you could tell it has not be cleaned for awhile. There was a power bar on stand across the room, plug my phone in there. Woke up @ 3:45 check my phone never charged at all. Had to plug phone in bathroom. It’s not hotel it’s a house and when I open door very strange smell. There was a very strange smell when I opened front door went up to room same smell. Absolutely no human connection at all.

This was a beautiful family run hotel. It was immaculately clean. it has a fridge, microwave, tea coffee. the price is very affordable for Richmond. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Good communication aside from not writing in the listing the50$ for extra people,so customers can know it before making the reservation , very sweet lady.

No soap, it was highly watered down liquid soap, super dirty bath room rug , no extra towels available per a sign that they put up in the restroom , no late checkout available. additional fees must be paid in cash. A sign that says to close the door because there’s mice outside, I have a mouse fobia, no breakfast,

it is a really bad nplace to stay. No AC and opening the window to freshen the room leaves car and truck noise and pollution into your room. Cars and trucks are passing within 10 feet of your bed. It is very noisy

We were very disappointed with our stay. The shower in our room wasn’t working, and the owner knew about the issue before we arrived but failed to have it fixed. This meant we had to share a bathroom with other guests, even though we specifically booked a room with a private bathroom. It was inconvenient and not what we paid for. Additionally, the room had a teapot and cups, but no tea provided and the only coffee available was very old — making these amenities pointless. Given the amount of money we paid, having to share facilities and endure this level of discomfort was unacceptable. The experience did not match the expectations set by the listing.

The check in is to late at 4 pm. I booked for 8 nights and they never changed the bedding or the towels. No kitchen, no tv, no place to have a BBQ. Very interesting why this place is in a hotel register one.

Four rooms upstair have to share a bathroom which is no good. There is not even a pantry with a sink or water tap in common area. I regret staying there.

It’s very old bed and mattress it makes eeek noise even in slight movement. It’s very uncomfortable. I wonder if the owner ever slept on it test the bed. No coffee machine for one cup of coffee. Jar for sugar is dirty and the bathroom is dirty. I don’t think I will stay here again

LY was such a gracious host allowed me to check in with a last minute at 2 am . Her house was very clean and had everything youbwould need to make you feel safe and d at home. Anytime im.in Vancouver i will stay here if shes not over booked

Room and bathroom was spacious.

First of all, the house was poorly lit. We arrived when it was dark and it was not obvious what house to go to. The outside lights were off which made it feel unsafe. The sign on the inside of the front door about mice did not help. Parking was promised on site, there was none. When we arrived, the hostess asked for $50 cash for a third person. It was an honest mistake - I booked for 2 adults and didn't notice the "1 child" had somehow disappeared. No receipt or recording of this payment. The hostess said she prepared the room (2 queen beds) for two people. We paid extra and didn't get a 3rd towel. No hand towel or washcloths provided. We spent literally 7 hours in the property. A rip-off! Coffee machine on desk but no coffee. No view as promised. Very noisy next to a busy street. The listing stated garden/mountain view. We had a neighbours house at close proximity and constant vehicle traffic. As a non-Chinese family we didn't feel very comfortable.

It worked out fine. We let ourselves in. Had a comfortable stay, and left ourselves. Never saw any staff or owners. We didn’t require any help. Everything went smoothly. We might have missed a tv being in the room a bit. But the wifi worked great for our internet devices. Decor reminded me of my home I grew up in.

Lovely home in Richmond. Great for a weekend trip where you want to be close to airport for an early departure. I did not meet the host, but we communicated on text and through booking site - they were very responsive to questions and we had an easy check in and checkout with details for parking our rental car. Bed was firm and very comfortable. Would stay again! Thank you!

I like interior decoration with Chinese style, so I could have various tastes of sense. Staff was very kind and explained about staying together. One thing, I did not know about night time bus running intervals. I just missed bus and had to wait about one hour on Brighouse station. For winter visitors, need to explain night schedule.

Shower really needed cleaning. Extra towels needed for ladies. Towel rack was off the wall under sink. Cigarette butts in the garden. Room was nice.

Pillows smelled, lady was unpleasant, not welcoming, unyielding, bathroom unclean, one hand towel for all to use & not changed daily, pictures of property not true, definitely not an AirBnB, no breakfast, coffee or tea. No TV. I'm not even sure the sheets were cleaned, bath rugs unclean w/ hair on them, and tub dirty. I heard a loud argument midday by host as I sat in the salon. I asked to wait til check-in in the salon on ground level. Wanted add'l 1/2 day $$ to sit there for 2 hrs.

The stay was amazing..... it's a private house and near to road but quiet and not that noisy.....the property was clean and the owner is a sweet and warm lady. Recommended stay if you want a decent stay for a budget. The property doesn't have a kitchen but there's microwave and refrigerator if you need to store or have a quick meal to go.

Not what I expected. Had not looked at pic of house. I booked too quickly. Did not realize I was in house where someone was living. Would have booked B&B if I had not been in a hurry.
