Room had a nice view of the ocean
Hotel was under renovation, but didn’t detract from the results I experienced with results of the areas that had been completed.
Bed the newly renovated rooms and the central location.
Still under renovation so it was noisey during the day
Location, size of the rooms and we were fortunate enough to stay in a newly renovated room
The building work! It didn’t make the Hawaii experience feel special. It was also noisy. I can see that it does need a good spruce up.
Położenie
The location, the newly rennovated rooms
The initial room given was old and dark and on a low floor. The renovation work disruption wasn’t good
The location was great food experience excellent
I wish that they would have informed us of the ongoing renovation that's why I gave a lesser score on that
The hotel is in the best location on Waikiki.
The hotel is undergoing a really massive remodel. The lobby is gone and you walk through construction tunnels to and from the elevator. There are workers and debris and tools everywhere. The room has noisy chipper air hammers removing tile from the bedroom next to ours and was loud all day, lucky we just left to go to the beach but if we needed a nap or had little babies it wouldn’t have worked.
Location . Located on the beach.
Extensive construction going on at this facility. A LOT of construction noise. Lost power to the hotel for 6 hours. And the T,V, kept going in and out of reception.
Location
Uncomfortable bed
We love this Hotel
The location, the amazing views from the oceanfront, remodeled Rome
The loud obnoxious music in the evening coming from Duke’s we could hear it all the way up to the 15th floor. It would’ve been nice if it were Hawaiian music but they’re playing ridiculous rock band music with bad drumming and it went on till 10 o’clock at night.
Leaving
Construction that was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talking when in our room
Deception of location and most of all noisy construction right above your head while paying for an expensive stay😡😡😡
As above described
We stayed at outrigger Waikiki. We were in the newly remodeled portion. The beds and pillows were fabulous. The partial ocean was beautiful. We were walking distance from food and shopping. Or stay at the hotel to eat Dukes or Hula Grill both are delicious.
Great location! Staff went above and beyond to help us as needed.
Lots of construction. It was kind of a bummer. Understandable but annoying.
Despite staying here through the hotel's renovation, we had a great stay cation! Beautiful city and ocean views from our balcony and great service!
A Wonderful Experience, The entire staff went Above & Beyond in making our stay a Wonderful & Relaxing experience, the staff were so accommodating and welcoming and met all our accommodating needs with professional & friendly excellent service. BEST Experience i have ever had at a resort, will make this our permanent resort in our future visits to Oahu.
I had a wonder time during my 1 week stay. Everything was in walking distance, took several tours, right across the street from the mall, good breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very nice hotel, clean, great service and lots of people in the area. The only thing I did not like is they did not have any microwaves in the room. I had to request one and the one they brought me was beat up and not to clean. In the future, it really would be nice to have microwaves in all rooms so that guest can warm their left over food or drinks up. They were doing construction on the hotel when I was their. Plan on going back in 2027 staying at the same hotel hopefully for 2 weeks and hope all rooms have microwaves in the near future. Other then that, beautiful place to stay right on the beech. See you in summer 2027!
We booked our stay (oceanfront, jacuzzi, club) in October of this past year, but were contacted by phone months later saying the club would be under construction. We chose to modify our reservation to not include the club access, but were assured we would still have an oceanfront jacuzzi room. Throughout the phone call we were given the impression that ONLY the club lounge would be under construction, and were not notified of any other construction at the hotel. When arriving at Waikiki, we were welcomed warmly by the staff, and were able to check in an hour early, which was appreciated. When checking in, I confirmed I booked an oceanfront jacuzzi room, the front desk employee verified this. We got up to our room, 1424, and there was no jacuzzi. Amy from the front desk apologized and said that the hotel no longer has jacuzzi rooms, despite what the other employees had guaranteed us-she said it was because we booked before construction had began. She did see that we paid a higher rate for a jacuzzi room, and adjusted our rate accordingly. However, the previous miscommunication about the guarantee of a jacuzzi room, despite one supposedly not even existing, is unacceptable. This did not start our stay on a positive note. We soon discovered that it was not just the club lounge that was under construction. The elevators were covered in protective draping, and also randomly stopped on floors full of construction materials when we were simply trying to get up to our floor. Other guests, verified that the elevator situation was ridiculous. You couldn’t get to the pool without walking through a bunch of drunk people at Duke’s because of the closed off construction areas. Throughout our stay, we were woken up by before 8:00 AM, (usually around 7:30), by construction workers in the room NEXT DOOR. There was drilling, banging, and construction workers loudly talking right outside our door. One worker was loudly cursing. We had wanted to sleep in, and couldn’t even escape the noise to the pool/beach because you can’t get towels until 8:00. When leaving our room, construction workers would constantly be in our way, and one morning there was a huge container of construction debris right outside of our door. I reached out to Outrigger via social media about this, and was assured a manager would contact me. NO MANAGER EVER CONTACTED ME. It did appear that we were some of the first guests staying in a newly renovated room, which we appreciated at first. The streaming on the TV was great, and the bed was nice. However, there was still some construction dust remaining, and overall the design of the room was not great. Why is the bathroom light switch (in a very tiny bathroom) behind the towel rack where towels are hanging, making it inaccessible? Why is the fridge/vanity unit in the middle of the room blocking the path and making the room closed off? On the second night of our stay we returned late to our room to find a letter stating that the water would be turned off for “emergency reasons,” (probably construction reasons), for three hours the following morning. From 9:00 to noon the next day, our room would be essentially unusable-no bathroom, shower etc. we were offered no sort of compensation for this major inconvenience. Following the water shut off, we returned to our room to find that the electricity in one corner of the room was completely off. No lights, charging capability, or alarm clock…good thing we had not been relying on that alarm clock to catch our flight. I had plugged a bunch of my electronics in assuming they would charge while we were gone, but apparently you can’t assume that an entire Outrigger room will have electricity. That corner of the room had NO ELECTRICITY for the rest of our stay. When checking out we again spoke to Amy. She did sincerely apologize, and took a quarter off of our bill, saying it was the best she could do. I do believe her, and she tried her best to make it right, but we can’t get those three nights of vacation back. This was our first trip booking Outrigger, and we also tried Outrigger Beachcomber, and Outrigger Kona on this same vacation. While they were not as nice as other resorts I’ve stayed at, they were generally fine. Outrigger Beachcomber was the most affordable, so we could be a bit more understanding when there was a long line at check in, or when they ran out of beach towels. Outrigger Kona did have construction going on, but besides some fencing outside the lounge slightly obstructing the view, it was not a major disturbance. (However, we were not notified of that construction in advance either.) The valet workers at Kona were excellent and a highlight of our stay there, and we also had positive experiences with the employees in the lounge. As someone who usually stays at Hyatt or Marriott resorts, my husband and I did consider other hotels on the beach. If it had been communicated to us earlier that the room we booked was unavailable and that we would be NEXT DOOR TO ACTIVE CONSTRUCTION, we would have booked elsewhere for the final part of our stay and still had an okay opinion of Outrigger based on our other two stays. Our stay at Outrigger Waikiki not only ended our vacation badly, but has turned us off of Outrigger all together. We did appreciate the view from our room, and the chairs by the pool looking at the beach. If we had not been unknowingly placed in the middle of active construction, we may have even had found ourselves wanting to return. However, Outrigger chose to be uncommunicative, deceptive, and greedy…losing themselves future customers.
Location is prime, on the beach and in the middle of all the activity in Waikiki. Because it's right in the middle of everything, it can be a little noisy. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this is not it. But if you are wanting to be steps from everything, then this hotel is perfect. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is ongoing construction on the building, but the hotel has done a great job keeping everything open and trying to limit the construction noise to a few hours during the day.
RUN AWAY from Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort! -Bought Costco Travel package in January for July travel. Upon arrival, decided to upgrade to direct oceanfront at $180/night additional -Entered room 1427, temperature was 79 degrees.15 hours later, A/C non-stop, temperature dropped to 73, higher during day. Also started water for shower, 15-20 minutes for “hot” water as the water was literally cold to my hand even after 15 minutes -Stopped by front desk to ask where fitness center was (and advise of the lack of A/C and no hot water issues with the room), was informed that it had been removed for new items to be stored for renovation (along with coin laundry). Was directed to a sister property Outrigger Paradise to utilize fitness center-almost 50% of their ellipticals/treadmills were “out of order” along with several weight machines. I found it fortunate that my Planet Fitness works in HNL…round trip UBER was around $37-$45 DAILEY…1.8 miles away…7 days (Full disclosure-it was only $8 at 3:00 am-sleep screwed up that deal.) -“Rowina” was summoned to discuss-I was told I could move rooms (literally after I had just finished unpacking, was exhausted and not happy about fitness center, A/C and hot water) and that she would send maintenance up. There were no additional ocean front rooms available, so I asked to have the issues fixed. She shared that she would credit my upgrade for last night….and then stated “and we will continue to credit you until the issues are resolved” I took the time to share the water issue and A/C running 24/7 and never reaching the desired temperature….oddly, the other staff members were fully aware, said “we know”…and “renovations are making the days very difficult”. Interesting to note that I had to keep the blinds drawn to keep it cool in the room-thereby completely defeating paying for the view at $180 per night additional. -Maintenance arrived- said that he wondered if the renovation crew had “messed up” the water pipes and then stated that it “seemed cool now” (so I should be satisfied?). Interesting that he never approached the thermostat, never put his hand over the A/C vent...and never turned on the water…which would blare out that he knew of the issues and knew her was powerless. -“Rowina” also stated that I should have “checked out the Outrigger website to see that they no longer listed the laundry and fitness center as amenities”, I guess that fully absolved them of any additional responsibility. (In January, the Costco website that renovation work (the kinder and gentler renovation work would be in play-but work would only be performed between 9:00-4:00 which they actually did). Unfortunately, I booked through Costco and therefore had zero need to visit their site. -Upon check out, I asked to speak to “Rowina” again to see what additional adjustments had made and was advised “no additional adjustments would be necessary as I had chosen to remain in the room”…when reminded of HER words of repairs being made from my second day, her memory went blank. Convenient for Outrigger…let the guest be damned. Interesting aside, while the A/C kept the room cool’ish running 24/7 with the blinds drawn…on Saturday morning (time to catch that ride to planet fitness), 3 lanes of traffic were blocked on Kalakaua Ave in front of the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort by a crane that lifts 80,000 pounds 120’…and low and behold---2 brand new 35’ x 4’ x 4’ A/C compressors were going up top…but rest assured that Rowina still feels that I was being unreasonable in thinking there was an actual issue. My only understanding is that Outrigger globally has only 33 hotels and a total of 5,000 rooms…it became obvious that they do not have the expertise, experience, honesty with guests… nor cash to do major renovations. (Hilton/Marriot both have over 9,000 locations and 1.5 million rooms each). Making the guest be completely removed from the communication loop-I would have loved it at ANY point if Outrigger had EVER communicated any of these hardships I would endure…they had 6 months to share what my experience would entail…yet they chose to remain silent as I would have likely changed my booking to either the HHV or the Moana Surfrider next door where I typically stay.
The resort wide construction is totally disruptive. This hotel should not even be open for business during this mess! I’m paying full price for no lobby, constant banging in the room adjacent to me, no hot water for the first 24 hours, and trash, boxes, and workers in every elevator! Crystal and the rest of the front desk tried to help, but really there isn’t a place in the hotel that isn’t affected. The hotel did not reach out to warn me of the construction. Their explanation was that I booked through Expedia. However, there is ZERO mention of the construction on the hotel website. Very shady! Don’t stay here!
Our room was remodeled and on a top floor which has an excellent view, love it! Location can not be better and the beach is one of the nicest and safest. The only problem was that the hotel is under contraction now so you might have noise during the day directly on your room and there is dust and construction materials smells here and there, we placed a towel under our door to block the smell from enter the room during the night. Also, the new water saving fixture and too restrictive and you will barely be able to wash your hair if you have long hair. Lol
While the hotel is currently under renovations, the team there are service oriented. Troy, with the valet team, makes my family feel as if we are part of the Outrigger family. In fact, that is why we returned this year. The location is fabulous - for the beach and shopping. It's centrally located and the views are stunning. Plus, you can't beat the hamburgers at Duke's ( the pie too). Looking forward to returning next year.
Just checked out of the Outrigger Waikīkī. The hotel is under major renovation. The say pool is open, dining is available. They don’t tell you. No lobby, no interior shops open other than them ABC and Dukes clothes. Wake up daily to Jack hammers and construction banging (last all day) 1 elevator gets dedicated to construction. Our room flooded with sewer waste from construction above us. The manager tried to offer us a hula pie for our inconvenience (nut allergy) Worst vacation in 40 years
Love And Aloha Big Mahalo Growing with the changes we will visit again after renovations. Aloha 🌺 Geri Ann Almonte
I wanted to share how wonderful our recent stay was for my daughter’s graduation celebration. We are returning guests, but this experience truly surpassed our previous visit. The staff was exceptionally warm and helpful, especially after hearing about a poor experience we had just faced at another hotel on Waikiki Beach for the 4th of July. Your team completely turned our vacation around! We were also pleasantly surprised by an unexpected upgrade of our ocean view room with an addition of lanai, which we loved! Though we were aware of the construction and other guests' complaints, it did not impact our stay whatsoever. This hotel is my daughter’s absolute favorite, and you made her graduation unforgettable. Thank you so much!
Location was good....atmosphere - good...rooms - good...value - ok...my issue was with the elevator system - press the button for the floor that you want to go to and you also need to tap in your room key card...for security...also, no bottled water provided in the room...
It’s location and the staff
Some noise from the renovations but looking forward to the end results
We came in for some business. I am a real estate agent and I had a listing, but we also came in for a couples trip and to spend time with family last trip before summer ends and school starts. The room was beautiful 16th floor beautiful love the remodel. Customer Service is always top-tier and we went to blue note to see Mojo Brooks. Best ever funny best seats. Only thing is they should need some AC in that room. . It was really hot in there thank God we sat next to a fan. We drove over to the other location for the Voyager club which we love that location cause it’s right on the beach and the Customer Serviceover there is beautiful too. They validated our parking so we could just park for free and eat. It was very convenient. Can’t wait to see this hotel looks like after the remodel because the room was gorgeous. We love staying here cause we feel like family from Ricky from the valet staff to the front desk staff to the housekeeping everybody makes you feel like Ohana
The location is elite in terms of the beach and shopping
The street noise is loud. It wasn’t ideal with a young family. Also renovating currently which I wasn’t aware of and is going to be until at least March. Current rooms very outdated and musty.
Outrigger is a perfect and truly beach front location. It has great vibe from Duke's restaurant and live music, with friendly and attentive staffs. Easy access to the mall and nearby restaurants, all within walking distance. Highly recommended for any travelers to Waikiki.
The Outrigger has a lot of potential simply because it's located right on Waikīkī Beach next to the Royal Hawaiian. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. We flew in on Monday and checked into a room with dirty sheets. Not exactly the welcome you expect. That evening, we saw a notice saying the water would be shut off the next day from 9:00-11:00 a.m. We spent the morning at the beach and the small pool. One odd thing to note: to get to the pool, you have to walk through Duke's outdoor dining patio in your wet swimsuit while people are eating. It's a very strange layout. The bigger problem was that the water was still off after 1:00 p.m. There were no working toilets, sinks, or showers, and even the hallway ice machine wasn't working because there was no water. We complained to the front desk and were simply told there was nothing they could do. The next morning, we were awakened at 6:00 a.m. by loud hammering overhead, followed by power tools starting around 8:30 a.m. When we stepped onto our balcony, construction debris was actually falling from the floor above. In the hallway, water was leaking through a ceiling light fixture. Security acknowledged the leak and said someone was coming to address it. The front desk acted as though this was the first they had heard of the construction. They insisted it was happening on the 10th floor, nowhere near our room on the 6th floor. I walked upstairs myself and immediately found a crew of construction workers gathered outside the elevator on the 7th floor--yelling to one another, hammering, with construction materials and debris everywhere. Clearly, the hotel knew there was active construction directly above occupied guest rooms. The next day the noise started at 5:30am. We called the desk and they said security was putting a stop to it. When I went downstairs security had no idea. Rowena at the front desk gave me the manager's business card, but every call went straight to voicemail. I was told the manager would arrive at 8:30 a.m. I never received a return call. This hotel is poorly managed. If construction is taking place directly above guest rooms, those rooms should not be rented. Between the dirty sheets, extended water outage, nonstop construction noise, falling debris, and lack of management response, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've experienced. Also my courregges vintage sunglasses went missing from our room and I'd really like them back and credit for this memorable disappointment. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Remodeled room was fantastic! I would not recommend staying here if the room is not remodeled. I called the resv number in advance before our arrival to request or upgrade to a remodeled room. The rep reassured me that our room was already remodeled; however, upon check-in, front desk said our room was not one that was remodeled. We gently complained and without further hassle were given a remodeled room. That was the only negative communication/interaction we received from staff. Major construction of the hotel is at the genesis stage now (July 2026). It should be done in 2 years. There were many hard hat workers in/out; delivery trucks out front; some day time noise, but overall, it did not affect us as we were typically at the beach or touring the island. All construction stopped at 6pm. This resort is sandwiched by the Westin & Sheraton & share the same beach as this Outrigger. Breakfast/lunch option added to the rate was worth it, however the same food items each day became mundane. Target is across the street to buy beach supplies/chairs/umbrella, alcohol, etc. Hotel staff were nice! Beach is nice! Avis rental car is in front of Target; rent a car to drive 30-40 miles to scenic lookouts & natural beaches!
Great location Large rooms Pleasant staff
We stayed in the middle of a major renovation so a lot of the hotel looked like a building site. But the hotel is VERY dated so the renovation is needed. Not very soundproof - street noise of partying and music late into the night, had to crank up air con for the fan noise to drown it out. Pool is tiny. Limited dining options in the hotel (both menus similar)
Staff were very nice and helpful Location was fantastic
Construction. We were not aware the hotel was under construction until it was too late to cancel The construction noise during the day was loud. They started construction and noise around 5:30 am. Way to early for vacationers
This was a wonderful hotel to stay at, beautiful environment and staff. Special mention for Brenda our lovely cleaner, such a bright smile and warm aura.
The Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort is conveniently located on a bustling section of Kalakaua Boulevard across from the International Market Place, and near many restaurants and designer stores. Think a miniature version of the Las Vegas Strip (with better weather). Despite being on such a busy and noisy street, our room was quiet. It was also comfortable and clean. We stayed in one of the older rooms that had not yet been renovated. In fact, the entire hotel is undergoing a massive renovation. What sets this hotel apart is its wonderful employees. The housekeeping staff did a great job and the front desk clerks and the concierge were all friendly and helpful. Well, nobody is perfect. The pool looked a little small for a hotel of this size. But what the heck, it is on Waikiki Beach anyway. We would definitely return to the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort if we are back in Honolulu.
Location was great, rooms were immaculate, housekeepers very sweet and helpful.
The construction.
This is our favorite hotel! The staff, the amenities, the hospitality, the location... right on our own island!
Had a great time at Out Rigger Waikiki Beach Resort. Hotel Staff was super Friendly and Helpful At check in (Amy an the crew were wonderful) Ocean Front Room View was Fantastic & Room staff Great. Everything was within walking Distance (Beach, Restaurant and Shopping) Will be back next April--27
We come here every year because the service, and staff are in a class all their own when it comes to taking care of customers and making sure people are happy and enjoying the resort. I recommend to everyone and when my friends and family stay here they agree this is hands down 1 of the best resorts in waikiki.
Worst experience ever. The resort decided to stay open during a $100 million renovation without disclosing this to customers. There is currently construction (non-stop drilling) going on from 9-4pm M-F. Their excuse, “We notified all third party booking companies so THEY should have told you.” Nope. the companies website should disclose this in BOLD. it’s beyond shady - zero accountability, zero transparency- and the manager, Crystal, is unapologetic and rude. She offered reserved beach chairs and mai thais as compensation. Total joke. The entire facility is a construction zone with workers dragging mattresses down from floors, causing elevators to backup. The spa is also closed. The rooms they’re putting people in during all of this are disgusting: old, cramped, dirty, horrible mattresses. Save your vacation money now by book literally anywhere else.
We go to this hotel every year for my daughter's bday and before I reserve i always ask for Mae cause she's been always helping us with our stay and always ask how we doing and our needs.. my kids love it so much thats its like a tradition going so if anyone wants to stay ask for Mae she will gladly help you

Even though the building had a lot of construction going on staff was always cheerful. I look forward to someday returning and seeing the improvements.
Room was lovely, staff were great! From doorman to reception to cleaning, couldn’t thank them enough.
No gym!!! Improvements being done ruined the relaxing by the pool vibe with drills and saws. We should have been given option to tfr to one of the other outriggers. I paid more than many other hotels but felt like I was in a construction site.
We had a beautiful stay at Outrigger Waikīkī Beach Resort! The staff was friendly, helpful and friendly
Great location. Restaurants inside the hotel are great - food, service, view! Staff is lovely and very helpful.
Our room was old, furniture was run down, damaged, scuffed and chipped. It was old and right out of the 80's. While the web site advertised that rooms were renovated - the ones with a city view ARE NOT and are terrible, given the price. The hotel is being renovated and there is virtually no front lobby - just 4 chairs. The main hallways are boarded up with drywall with posters stuck on. It's terrible.
We enjoyed our experience so much and Ligaya was beyond helpful in making our experience even better.
Ligaya checked us in and she was incredibly helpful and super sweet. Our stay was fantastic. It was my mom’s 90th birthday celebration and her first time going to Hawaii.
Thank you Mae for helping us get our room. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The view was very beautiful. The location was in the middle of everything so everything was within walking distance (target, ross, food courts). We will definitely be back.
Rooms were nice size but the beds were doubles not queens they can only put extra bed in king size bed room. Pool is small, and limited lounges. However this hotel is clean and staff were amazing
My husband and I recently stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and from the minute we arrived to the second we left we could not fault the staff, hotel and location. Walking out on to our balcony and getting to see Waikiki beach up close and personal was just the stuff dreams were made of. You have everything you need at your fingertips the rooms are pretty roomy and unlike a lot of hotels there were actually coat hangers in the cupboard for your clothes! If you are looking for a hotel to stay at and you are still deciding between this hotel and another hotel just do yourself a favour and book this one. You will not regret it I promise you. Having said that I will also add that while we were there the hotel was currently going through a refurb so there was a little bit of noise and a bit of inconvenience with the lifts but the fun thing about that was you got to meet other people staying in the hotel and have a good giggle about it. Trust me though waiting an extra few minutes to catch a lift is the least of your worries staying at this place!
We initially stayed in a room on 5th floor, at the back, but with a glimpse of the ocean, for 3 nights. It was unrenovated and dated, but quite okay. Then we were offered an upgrade to the top (16th) floor to a renovated oceanfront room. The cost was high, but the view was outstanding and we were assured there were no renovations near that floor. How wrong! The room next door was gutted and we were disturbed numerous times with banging doors and loud voices, and by workers arriving one morning at 5 am. Furniture was being moved into other rooms. From the sea, we could see at least 3 toilets sitting on balconies waiting to be installed (!) which we found quite amusing. Front desk staff did not seem to be aware of renovations going on around us, and one admitted she ‘had not been up there’. We opted to stay in our room, despite no hot water for 3 days, and numerous ‘technical’ faults with a new renovation that clearly hadn’t been tested before allowing guests to stay. We loved and used the little balcony frequently and could not hear anything out there other than the muted drilling heard throughout the resort. The bed was comfortable and the nights were quiet, so we slept well with the sound of the waves breaking on the shore. We enjoyed several evening meals watching the people on the beach and the boats coming and going, but we most probably would not rebook this hotel. The process of dining at Duke’s was confusing, with lots of queuing and waiting, and being prepared to line up at 4 pm for dinner was ridiculous (to us, but clearly not to the long lines who did this). It was easier to buy a burger from Big Island Burgers, or sushi from the Japanese supermarket in the International market, or a salad from ABC, and enjoy on our balcony.
Location is great
I paid almost $1600 for 3 nights in a small, old, dingy double room. I had 1 bar of soap the entire trip. No shower caps, no amenities, nothing. Super basic. Cleaning staff was great! They are currently remodeling so the hotel is under major construction. I would have thought the price of the expensive stay would reflect that. I had to ask for robes and a hot water kettle. I wish I had stayed somewhere else for the same amount of money. I’ve stayed here many times and don’t think I’ll ever go back. Location is great.
We had a fantastic stay. Clean room, great service, friendly staff.
We had a great time and experience at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. This is our go to hotel for many reasons in the past few years. The staff are friendly and the location is perfect. We are also part of the Platinum Membership Program which gave us access to Voyager 47 Club Lounge. Although the hotel was under remodel we were able to use the lounge at Outrigger Reef which was not too far away. We were able to stay at the remodeled room which was very nice, clean and modern. Love how Dukes restaurant and bar is right in the hotel and the beach access is great and easy. A big Mahlo to Ricky Kuga for helping us navigate our stay with ease. I highly recommend speaking with Ricky Kuga on the Platinum membership, the value is well worth the fee. Also special thanks to Christopher Weeks as well from Outrigger Reef who also took care of us as well when visiting the hotel there.
Outrigger Waikiki has been our go to spot for years! We absolutely love this hotel. The service is impeccable, the location is perfect, views are amazing and Duke's is our favorite restaurant on the island! We have visited this hotel five or six times and always have such a memorable vacation. Nothing else compares. During our last visit there were some renovations going on and honestly, it made no difference. We still had a wonderful time. We can't wait to go back and see what has changed. We'll never consider another hotel on the Island. For that matter, no other vacation "anywhere" has measured up to Outrigger Waikiki! Pleased go visit, you won't regret it!!
Liqaya was a big help to my family. She was able to arrange a last minute room quickly. We enjoyed stay. Thank you.
The cleaning staff, Fiona and the girls, were absolutely THE BEST! They greeted us daily with a smile and lovely conversations each day. Our room was immaculate. They made us feel so welcome. The pool staff, also, THE BEST. They also made us feel so welcome. And our waitress at the pool, Rose, could not have made us feel more special. Always met us with a smile and remembered what we were drinking. The people at Duke’s were so accommodating and friendly and food, as always, fantastic. Duke’s on Sunday is the place to be. We were so entertained with one of our very favorites, ‘KAPONO”. The Valets, even though we did not bring a car to park, were so nice and Great Greeters for the Outrigger, very welcoming and helpful with directions.
Fantastic location, but the renovation's ruin just about everything else. Enjoying our view from our balcony was interrupted by extremely loud drilling and hammering all day. Forget trying to sleep in or take a nap during the day unless you are lulled to sleep by construction noise. The Club Lounge attached to our “Club Suite,” is also closed for renovations, as is the gym. No notice was given to us of this, which meant no breakfast or afternoon drinks and nibbles in the afternoon we were looking forward to and is usually part of the “Club Suite” experience. We were not offered alternatives or compensation. Very disappointing. Also, loyalty is not rewarded as I come every year. Not again.
Location was great
Hotel under construction and the noise and disarray was distracting and not at all attractive. Was not a conductive atmosphere for a relaxing vacation. It was a disappointing stay.
ビーチフロントのロケーション
リノベ中で朝から下の階でトンカンうるさい音がし、エレベーターも機材の搬入などで乗りにくいかったりと事前に知らされてなかったのもありとても残念でした。
We loved that it was close to the beach and the food was good.
The beds were not the most comfortable and there was lots construction going on.
I was so excited and we saved up to book a “Club Suite”for my 60th birthday with my best friend’s 5 year cancer free. On checking in I asked reception what floor the club was on so excited about the afternoon cocktails and nibbles. I was bluntly informed it was closed as part of the renovations and told that the website showed they were doing renovations. I said that I had read that renovations were underway “in select public spaces,” but it did not mention that the club was closed and asked how could I be aware of that when I booked a Club Suite?” If there was no Club should why did they offer “Club Suites?” They replied that was Booking.com’s fault and I should take it up with them. When I asked if the simple solution could be that we could have breakfast in one of their two other restaurants (as the club package included breakfast in the club and afternoon drinks and nibbles) I was told “no” and again that I should call Booking.com as they knew the club was closed and they made the mistake. I asked to speak to a manager. Aimee repeated the above but added she would refund our booking if we left by 4.30 pm that day if we wanted to find another hotel that could offer Club facilities. I was so shocked by that response. I called Booking.com a total of 8 times, before this was resolved today with breakfast vouchers which I had to chase up with reception to obtain. No apology, but the comment “this is not normally included but we have made an exception because the Club closed in February. Sadly disappointed as I was thanked on checking in for my loyalty in returning to the hotel from Sydney, Australia every year for the last 10 years.

Right on the beach! Great people! Close to the action! We stay here every time we go to Hawaii
Location
Temporary as under construction
This is our 3rd visit to this wonderful hotel and it won’t be our last! The location just can’t be beat …just a few steps from the hotel and you are on beautiful golden sand. Despite the renovations being undertaken during our stay it did not deter us whatsoever from enjoying the resort, to be honest they were always working during working hours so we would be out enjoying this beautiful island and not really be affected by it. The staff were outstanding with their willingness to help and always eager to please. Can’t wait to return and see the upgrades to the hotel next year and hopefully see the amazing staff again… 🌺🤙🏻😎
Location Location Location - tight on the beach. Great staff and entertainment. Would stay here again.
Comfortable but scheduled for renovation. Renovation is timely.
Arrived early and was able to check in straight away. That was very convenient as we had an early flight from Maui. Our room was more than what we expected giving us plenty of space to relax with views over Waikiki Beach. We loved being able to see the surfers early in the morning until late in the afternoon. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and really enjoyed the easy access to the pool and beach, like 50 metres from our room, and out the front door to an abundance of restaurants and shopping. Managed to do an amazing Pearl Harbor tour and the Waikiki Trolly trip down the coast road was awesome. Thanks Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort for making our anniversary dreams come true. Could not have picked a better place to stay.
Amazing experience always very friendly staff we love staying at this hotel.
The staff at Outrigger are awesome! They are super helpful, responsive, and friendly. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, so it felt a bit dated on our floor and within the room, but wasn’t a huge issue. We didn’t have access to the gym due to construction, so that’s a bummer for us. It’s one of the things I always look forward to having on a trip. Overall, the hotel itself was incredibly convenient and centrally located to all highlights within Waikiki. We would definitely recommend this hotel and return again!
This was our first time in Hawai‘i. Though it was loud at times, you’re right on Waikīkī beach! The staff was lovely. We were able to check in early. That was nice since we got off our cruise ship early. We could unwind a bit before exploring!
Hotellage zentral, Zimmer gross mit schöner Sicht.
Zimmer sehr altmodisch (mit Teppich, Badewannedusche-Boden kaputt. Preise viel zu hoch für was man kriegt.
Wonderful experience, great location, beautiful clean rooms, and exceptional staff. Made my destination Hawaiian wedding and Honeymoon very memorable.
Love the location.
Construction going on and parts of the hotel closed. Never was informed that this was going on when we booked.
Right on the beach just steps away.
Valet parking is $60 per day. Really it’s the only place you can park. We had a horrible experience from the second we checked in. The room was $2700 for the whole stay with parking and resort fees. However, they charged us 3 TIMES on our card holding almost 8k they charged us 2x $2,466 and one $2,700. Which was all the money we brought to spend on the trip. We are leaving tomorrow and we still haven’t gotten all our money back. My bf ended up proposing on our trip and we couldn’t even celebrate because the hotel took all our money. The front desk upgraded our room which was nice and gave free meal vouchers and free mai tais. Although this was appreciated but we were restricted to the hotel for the most part. Lorna in accounting just stopped replying to my emails for help. So our whole trip was basically ruined because the hotel took all our money. Idk why it couldn’t have gotten handled on Wednesday when we checked in. We leave tomorrow, Monday, and still haven’t gotten our money back. It was total BS. We spent a majority of our trip stressing with the front desk demanding our money back because of THEIR error. And nothing was done to give our money back. Allegedly it will be back in our account in 3-5 business days. First time coming to Hawaii, on top of getting engaged, we had so many excursions we wanted to do and we didn’t get to do them because of this. Took time off work, time away from our kids, to not even enjoy our trip the way we wanted to.
Construction was going on. Amenities were not as good as other beach front hotels. If I were to go back I would try a different location.
L’emplacement
Mobilier et décoration un peu trop usé
Should have been 5 stars but for continuous drilling / building work 9-5 overhead and no one wanted to do anything about it will be making a laim with virgin holidays about this! Actual room was good location was great most of shops shown on youtube are boarded up but there is an abc store there and a restaurant, i can see there is noise from other areas nearby and at night but this is drowned out through the day by continuous overhead drilling!! Won't be going back
I have been coming here for 50 years and brings lots of memories! Currently with construction we had the fire alarm m go off in am. The water was shut off, and jack hammering and construction each day. People fighting at elevator and no where to sit in lobby. Dukes was amazing, pool was awesome and loved the location. Did check out Sheraton and there lobby was Amazing!!!!!
The noise, lack of lobby, fire alarm, elevator back up and confused customers. Construction noise!!!!
Great location on the beach, rooms clean, helpful staff (housekeepers were awesome). Love the Hula Grill, ate there almost every morning (excellent staff). Family atmosphere. Some areas were blocked off and awkward when entering due to construction but the noise level was fine, really didnt have any issue with that. Good value for what we paid. Would definetly go again.
We have been to Ohua 3 times and each time we stayed at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. We just love it there. The staff is amazing and the Duke's restaurant buffets are soon good. We always get a partial ocean view and it is well worth it.
Great location on the beach across the street from The International Market.
Very loud construction is going on every day on the floors directly above my room. I’m sure this won’t last forever but it is going on in May of 2026.
Fantastic location. Platinum membership team took great care of our bookings. Ricky and his team do a great job. Good communication throughout and exceptional hospitality in all areas of the hotel.
I was there for a long weekend for my daughter's graduation from UH at Manoa. Wow. What a great experience! From the moment I checked in, until I checked out, the experience was memorable. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Management and staff really have it dialed in to make it an amazing experience for their clients. Above and beyond expectations: Reusable metal water bottles in the rooms, breakfast (for 1 person per room) each morning, clear and large gym that was a pleasure to use, very kind and very responsive housekeeping staff... The list goes on. So pleasantly surprised. I will definitely stay there the next time I am in HNL and highly recommend it.
Ocean Front Room fabulous, beautiful view, clean and spacious. Love Dukes and Hula Grill, food and staff wonderful. Staff throughout the resort were all friendly and helpful. Airport shuttle was on time both ways.
The location staff excellent
They are under construction to revamp the building without and notice to customers. You cannot be in room after 8.30am as the noise I’d 80-90 decibels.
We have traveled to Hawaii many times over the years. We really love the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort for the location, close proximity to shopping and dining and especially the warm and friendly staff. They are renovating the hotel currently and I can't wait to see the new and improved entrance and rooms! Plan on going back in November to see the improvements!
Our favorite hotel in Waikiki, it is on the Beach front with great views , centeraly located, has Duke's restaurant on the main level, clean well furnished rooms, friendly employees ( Wendy our room cleaner) and Ligaya at the front desk is the best we always look forward to seeing her. Only cons are a little bit noisy which is to be expected in the middle of Waikiki, the pool area is a little cramped, but you have the beach right in front of you and my. No.1 complaint is cheap toilet paper. We will return next year as it feels like home away from home.
I am very grateful to the hotel management. At the reception, the way we were welcomed and received by the lady in charge there was outstanding. The room service was also very precise, fast, and of high quality. A lady named Nancy performed very professionally and her performance was excellent. I am grateful to her and to the hotel management. Hope to see you again.
We love this hotel it is our favourite holiday destination and the friendly staff make such a difference. The location on the beach is perfect for a relaxing holiday where you are only a few steps from the beach and that tropical water. We were fortunate to have an Ocean Front room and the view up and down the beach is stunning with constant activity to enhance the experience.
I want to give 2 big shout outs for the staff at the Outrigger Waikiki - first to Fiona/housekeeping as she was incredible! She assisted us with a request and went out of her way to show us the right steps Second to Jason/Head of Housekeeping at the Outrigger Waikiki - he went out of his way to help us with a process that we had asked for, called me personally to explain what will happen and the time frame! And also a shout out to Troy/Valet, he was so kind and helpful and does a great job!

Close to the beach
Under renovations, expensive, resort fees but no facilities besides a pool, room wasn’t serviced.
amazing atmosphere
all was great
Position
We were not advised about major works renovations with loud bang all day.Outrigger advised me that bookings.com was advised and your responsibility to inform us as it was your booking.. We were given the worse room and position .We wouldn't of stayed there. We paid a premium amount very disappointing.
