Crossroads was very easy to find, especially as the B&B gave detailed guidance. Parking on site was very easy. Location was ideal for a journey to Scotland up the M6; it was also very quite thanks to the recently opened new southern bypass that took traffic away from the house. The room and ensuite were okay and of sufficient size for a short stay. The comfortable shared lounge, with honesty bar, was a nice bonus, as was some fresh milk in the communal fridge.

We felt the quality of the breakfast could have been a wee bit better. Also the place could do with a bit of a refresh. Nothing to put us off staying again.

Perfectly placed if travelling between England and Scotland. 2 minutes from motorway. Have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. Rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. Love the option of fresh milk from the fridge on the landing for our morning cup of tea. The included breakfast is excellent and we always eat at the sister pub The Greyhound which offers a warm welcome and a good choice of great food. Very dog friendly.

The electric shower was very temperamental. It took ages to heat up then when it did, it was either scalding or freezing, there was no in-between.

The owner was lovely. Breakfast was amazing. Easy to find key and get into room. Quite a lot of pubs around the area to find a nice pub meal.

I had a problem with my booking, my fault, I contacted booking com and they tried to deal with it for me. They got no reply from Crossroads House. I tried to contact Crossroads House on the telephone and I got no reply either . Not good I arrived at Crossroads at tea time the porch door was wide open the front door was unlocked and the place was like the Marie Celeste. No one there. There was a diary on the hall table telling me my room number. Any one could have walked in. There was no security at all. I felt unsettled, it was open house. You hear so much on TV about problems at Travelodge with intruders well at least they have staff on site and locks on the outer doors. It was all so in personable

Schönes Zimmer, liebevoll gestaltet. Platz für eine Person reichte völlig aus. Dusche war sehr gut. Frühstück wurde täglich nach Wunsch von 7-9 Uhr zubereitet. Alles war da, was man für einen guten Start brauchte. Die Lage war passend, um zu verschiedenen Themen (Hadrian‘s Wall oder Lake District, sowie nur eine 15minütige Fahrt nach Schottland) zu gelangen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

Etwas hellhörig, das liegt aber auch daran, dass sich nicht alle Gäste daran halten, dass man aufeinander Rücksicht nehmen sollte. (Das Schließen von Türen)

Julie est rès sympa et on se sent comme chez soi dans sa maison. On l'impresssion de venir chez des amis. Par ailleurs elle fait l'effort de parler français tant qu'elle peut en souvenir d'un moment de sa vie en France. English breakfast excellent. La maison est édifié sur un magnifique puits mis en valeur sous l'escalier.

Quand il fait chaud et qu'on doit ouvrir la fenêtre, la proximité avec la grande route est un peu bruyante, mais cette température doit être assez rare.

Perfect location - 5 mins off motorway but nice and quiet. Breakfast was superb - freshly cooked with a wide choice. Room was very comfortable - even provided a fan which was greatly appreciated as it was a warm night

Het is landelijk gelegen en lekker rustig. Julie was vriendelijk en we hebben een lekker ontbijt gehad

Klein 2 persoonsbed tussen 2 nachtkastjes, gaf een beklemmend gevoel. Klein kamertje. Er was geen contact toen we aankwamen, sleutel zat in de deur. We konden het raam niet openen ( het was warm) en er was nergens een sleuteltje te vinden, toen maar wat harder tegen het raam geduwd en het is gelukt! De volgende ochtend pas kennis gemaakt met Julie, zij was wel supervriendelijk!

Very spacious area. Julie was very helpful. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and quantity. The room and en-suite were very clean. Tea and coffee refreshments provided with fresh milk in a small fridge on the landing. Would definitely recommend this B and B.

It was great as a place to stay on the way back down south, really convenient to the motorway. Was immaculate, great for the dog, breakfast was fantastic in the morning, plenty of choice. Fantastic communication from the owner ref road closures etc she kept us updated the whole time.

Lovely comfy beds, friendly but not intrusive staff, very good location for breaking the journey to Scotland - and much improved on our second visit by the new by-pass being open - but we were given very helpful instructions on the first visit to get there without going miles out of our way.

We could have done without a power cut in the middle of my morning shower, but that wasn't the House's fault!

The location wasn’t great. It was a bit tired looking but fairly comfortable. The extractor fan in the bathroom was absolutely filthy! Breakfast was ok. Kerry was very nice and a great host!

The location was perfect for us for a one night stay. Julie was a fantastic host, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The room was comfortable and clean and quiet. There were plenty of options at breakfast which was well cooked and plentiful. In all, a great stay and would recommend.

We stayed in the middle of the week and the local pubs didn't serve any dinner that day. The only restaurant in walking distance didn't allow dogs. We were able to get a takeaway, but would've preferred a local restaurant (obviously not the B&B's fault though!).

Scruffy outside. Bedside lamp broken. One of our rooms smelt so bad of drains we had to wait for another room to be prepared at 9 at night. A couple arrived late at night making a lot of noise. The hallway light went on and off all night and the gap under the doors made sure it lit the room up like a 70s disco. The walls are so thin you could hear your neighbour breathing. Impossible to sleep. If the road hadn’t been closed, the traffic noise would have been unbearable, Didn’t stay for breakfast, it smelt awful and we just wanted to get away from there

The description given to the room was ‘A DELUXE double room’ personally I’d say that was an exaggeration, it was a relatively small room.

Julie was so friendly and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We were unexpectedly very late for checking in due to being stuck in traffic, this wasn’t an issue and were able to get access straight to our room so we could get some much needed sleep. Breakfast was very tasty the following morning.

Pillows were a little hard but that’s just personal preference, room was immaculately clean.

Julie the hostess greeted us warmly and helped us enjoy a two night stay. Her breakfasts were outstanding.

Julie and Alastair are amazing and wonderful hosts, and nothing is too much trouble for them! They have a dog friendly space for the garden, and breakfast was delicious! The room is spacious, well decorated, and the bed so comfortable I could’ve stayed in it forever! Julie even gave my dog some extra sausage at breakfast - which was such a thoughtful thing to do.
