The rooms are very well designed and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is perfect for a relaxing vacation.

They have poorly insulated connective doors and you can hear everything from the other room. I recommend asking for a room without a connective door.

Leuke inkomhal en zetels op terras buiten... Fijne locatie dicht bij het strand. Gratis fietsen (naar Venice Beach) zijn een aanrader!

We kregen een zogezegde upgrade van een gewone kamer aan het zwembad naar een suite met zeezicht, maar onze meisjes van 17 en 14 jaar moesten op een slaapbank! En het zeezicht was toch verder dan verwacht: te bespeuren tussen de andere gebouwen... Nadien kregen we ook nog koekjes en appelsap op de kamer, als soort van compensatie? ... We vonden de parking aan de dure kant, dus parkeerden we om de hoek via SpotHero.

He is always there, eager to help every guest, and does so with a genuine smile and the utmost professionalism. Just got back from a great stay at this hotel. The staff are very helpful and couldn't do enough to make sure we had what we needed. The kids loved the pool and it was nice to be able to get up and get a good coffee and pastry from the shop downstairs. The location is great and the beach/pier and shopping area are all within walking distance.

Look and style of the place. Pet-friendly (although the fee of $175 per stay is too high). Great location. Free water bottles every day.

Our room on the 2nd floor overlooking the roof of the entrance was a deception. The pool area could be cleaned up a bit more often during the day. The parking fee of $76/day is too high.

Everything was perfect except the check in stuff.

We felt like we had arrived at a hotel run by robots rather than people. The staff outside were very friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately, the front desk staff were a completely different story. Most of them were not friendly or helpful at all. The only exception was the staff member who assisted us during checkout. He was very kind and professional, and he definitely deserves a perfect score from us. Unfortunately we don't know the names of the once that act like robots.

This hotel is very hip, has great energy, and is in a fantastic location for anyone exploring Santa Monica, the beach, Venice, the Pier, etc. We were there for a wedding and had 3 rooms for 3 nights. We were spending alot of money and I expected exceptional service. While there were many bright spots (BJ at door, Abbie at the cabanas), some things left us wondering if they were simply short-staffed. We paid $300 to rent a cabana for the day and more than once, drink orders took 45 minutes or more. Once sitting in the restaurant area, we waited over one hour for a drink order (or food was gone before our drinks arrived). The towels were out of stock at the pool much of the day too. Aside from these small things, most aspects of our stay were great. We enjoyed the coffee shop, the food at the restaurant was good, and the rooms were comfortable. Door/luggage staff were phenomenal. despite our issues, I would stay here again - and thats why I gave it 5 stars.

We had a fantastic eight-night stay at the Viceroy Santa Monica. From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel welcome and at home. A special thank you to BJ and the valet team—the valet service was outstanding and made coming and going with our rental car effortless. Our Junior Suite was spacious and comfortable for me and my two sons, including the pull-out sofa. Housekeeping was excellent and always accommodated our schedule. The restaurant exceeded our expectations. Every meal was delicious, arrived quickly, and the indoor-outdoor atmosphere created such a relaxing vibe. We especially enjoyed spending our last evening by the outdoor fire. The décor is beautiful, the location is perfect for exploring Santa Monica, and the service from every member of the staff was consistently warm, friendly, and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend the Viceroy to anyone visiting Santa Monica.

Excellent hotel! Everyone on the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and we truly enjoyed our time here. A special thank you to Luis, who was always so helpful with our bikes and luggage and greeted us with a smile every day. We highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

Location and staff are the best things about the hotel.

It’s overpriced with very few amenities. Parking is expensive ($70+ per day with tax) and outdoor with no protection, our car came back with a giant bird excrement on it. Pools are salt water but small. Food is average.

I would not recommend staying at the Santa Monica Viceroy. Overall, the staff here is not helpful and seemingly has quite the attitude as if you are fortunate to stay there. The additional fees are laughable when you realize that they do nothing for you so as... no pool service whatsoever... the coffee bar and restaurant... order yourself and wait. The pool area was littered with pizza boxes and food not picked up. It was disgusting. The area was also disappointing as it was not safe after 9 pm. I will not stay here again.

It was modern, clean, airy and welcoming. Just cafe! I wish I had more time to enjoy the facilities!

Normalissimo hotel. Se non fosse per qualche cartonato qua e la per camuffare il tutto, la struttura sarebbe anche parecchio bruttina. Al check-in ti fanno tutta una serie di domande bizzarre (quante chiavi vuoi? vuoi registrare anche l'altro ospite? vuoi un bollitore in camera?) però non ti forniscono alcuna informazione sui servizi dell'hotel... la camera sarebbe una vista mare parziale, ok non mi aspetto una vista frontale però almeno di poterlo intravedere senza usare lo zoom del telefono perfettamente posizionato in uno spiraglio tra due edifici... Il vero problema comunque è che la struttura in sé non centra niente con quello che uno si aspetta... Forse bisognerebbe cambiare le foto

We loved our stay at Viceroy! From the location, to the beautiful decor in the common areas as well as the rooms, and the comfort, to the atmosphere and service; everything was amazing. The food and drinks were delicious. The hotel was always clean and the room cleaning service left our room in a better condition than when we left for the day. It was quiet at night and we were able to sleep well. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

The swimming pool area was very good, comfortable, relaxing. The room was clean. The salad was good. The location is very central, closed to the pier. Water is free.

To park in the hotel over night costs around 70 USD per night. The free water was purified, so it didn't satisfy my thirst. My pizza was clearly frozen, but the taste was quite good.

A nice, clean hotel room and a wonderful lunch! The staff was very attentive.

It’s my first time back to this hotel in 10 years. It looks different but the hospitality is still on point. BJ and Armando with the valet team were super helpful and Edwin at the front desk was very accommodating after we had booked the wrong room. Room was cozy, clean and food and drink were delicious and reasonably priced for the area. Favorite perk are still the bikes.

Our room was fantastic. Lovely view, clean beautiful rooms, staff was friendly helpful. We were sad to leave but will definitely stay again soon(our son just moved around the corner) Location is wonderful and best of all while sleeping I can have the sliding doors open and can hear the waves crashing on the sand!( middle of the night) Thank you to staff for amazing stay! We will definitely be back soon!!!

One of the best place to stay if you want to enjoy Santa Monica beaches. Beautiful view. 6th floor has amazing view. People are so courteous and amazing service. Would love to. One back n stay here. Free bike rides for 4hrs.

Been to this hotel several times. Each time, the Manager, John, has been absolutely wonderful. He is extremely attentive, accomodating, helpful and just a breathe of fresh air. The hotel is very nice and a safe, excellent location. The beds are super comfy and the showers and bathrooms are great. I will continue staying at this hotel and highly recommend it as it is also a 3 minute walk across the street to the beach.

This was not only one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had, but also the location of my USC Marshall graduation celebration, and the entire team made the experience unforgettable for both me and my family. From the moment we arrived, Hannah and her team at the front desk were incredible. She made check-in seamless and took care of every detail to ensure my family felt welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay. The valet team was equally amazing, Hiroshi and Edgar were fast, communicative, professional, and genuinely kind. Whether helping load cars or coordinating arrivals and departures for our family, they made everything feel effortless. BJ was also fantastic helping move bags between the cars and rooms. What truly sets the Viceroy apart is that it doesn’t feel like a corporate hotel. It feels warm, stylish, and personal, almost like staying at a beautiful Malibu or Beverly Hills home. The decor and attention to detail throughout the property are stunning. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, the atmosphere around the hotel was perfect, spotless, and the fire pits by the pool made for such memorable late-night family quiet and intimate conversations The food was outstanding at the Sugar Palm restaurant as well, please try the chicken pesto pasta. Absolutely amazing! Most importantly, the Viceroy team helped bring my graduation celebration to life by the pool, and my family is STILL talking about how beautiful everything was. The catering was phenomenal, the cabana and pool setup was perfect, and Ada and her team made the process incredibly easy from start to finish, even setting up microphones and speakers for speeches. A huge thank you as well to Ryan Ting, who truly orchestrated this entire experience from day one. He even gave me a full tour while my mom joined on FaceTime, and from that moment on, he made the entire planning process feel effortless. Location-wise, you are directly across from the beach and a short walk from the Santa Monica Pier, which made everything even better. 10/10 experience across the board. The value is unmatched from any hotel I've experienced in LA and I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Los Angeles or celebrating a special occasion.

The Viceroy SM is a fantastic unique hotel to stay if you want to be at a beach centric location while in SM. We chose this hotel because it is part of our credit card benefits, and we were glad that even though we arrived late during our check-in, they honored most if not all of the benefits associated with our credit card. The breakfast had great options, fresh, sweet, and plenty of lovely breakfast beverages. The hotel is a quick 1 block walk to the beach and 10 min walk from the SM Pier. The room was nice and clean with a view overlooking an urban part of Santa Monica. The pool area while small, is cute and quiet and had plenty of options to sit. We did have some issues with the daily food and beverage credit in addition to the free breakfast associated w our CC, but management swiftly took care of it and we were grateful for their top-notch customer service. We will be back :) great hotel

Viceroy SM is well located and has a nice vibe to it. Only real complaint was the parking cost at $62/day. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are well designed and clean.

When we arrived at the hotel no knowing what to expect, we were greeted at the car door like royalty. As we entered the lobby I was blown away by the ambiance that made me feel like I was back on the island in Mexico I had just departed from. DJ was our concierg and so professional and delicate. He treated us as if he knew us a lifetime and knew just what a group of three middle age ladies preferred when it came to hospitality. I wish he would the it into my suitcase. First, he poured us a glass of champagne to welcome us which was great fully appreciated after a 40 min drive. We were slightly early for check in and he was willing to care for our belongings and offered us complementary bicycles to stroll the Santa Monica strip while we wait. It was priceless. The hotel totally wowed us at arrival and it got better by the moment. Our room accomodations were immaculate! Double doors and white marble floors from the entrance through the bathroom. Everything was so clean and very well designed. We were celebrating my birthday so we chose an ocean view room and were able to have a toast sitting in the comfort of our hotel and watch the sun set over the horizon. Our bedding was clean, crisp and so comfortable. To be honest, we felt right at home. If you are a stay in kind of gal, the there's a dainty cafe downstairs serves a nice breakfast and a few other delightful bites. While you are waiting, take a stroll onto the courtyard where the vibe totally delivers!! Initially I was concerned about prices, but I can honestly say that I got lots of bang for my bucks and would definitely recommend this property if nice is what you like. I know I don't want to book with anyone else.
