La déco est jolie, style beach house en Bois. La situation devant l’océan et en plein cœur de Santa Monica est top. Les chambres sont grandes et bien décorés. Nous avions deux chambres communicantes qui donnaient sur une petite terrasse. Par contre nous avions un mur juste en face de nous dons ce n’était pas super clair.

L’espace piscine rend moins bien que sur les photos.

La chambre n’était pas au calme du tout. Nous avions une partial océan view Impossible de dormir tellement les nuisances extérieurs de la rue étaient fortes notamment car il y avait le passage pour accéder à Santa Monica pier juste en dessous. J’ai eu un échange avec le manager qui n’a pas pu nous changer car l’hôtel était complet. Nous avons eu un changement pour la dernière nuit. Pour cette hôtel il faut prendre les chambres océan view qui sont plus chers mais qui seront à la hauteur du prix. Car en l’état paye cette somme pour ce rendu,c’est inacceptable.

The hotel is located on an unique location in Santa Monica. It is right on the beach front and the hotel is also very orientated towards the beach. Having a drink outside on the first floor when the sun goes down is magic.

Nous avons testé les deux restaurants et nous avons été très déçus par la qualité des plats . Au Pico , plat de pâtes sans saveur et très petite quantité dans l assiette , idem pour notre fille …. Une ridicule assiette creuse de pâtes digne d une amuse bouche …. Quelle honte pour un restaurant qui se veut haut de gamme .

The location was perfection. The food was delicious. The staff was wonderful. I genuinely loved my lobster roll lunch in the outdoor restaurant. I keep thinking about it. We did a weekend getaway and spent one day in Abbot Kinney and one day in Malibu. It was perfect.

Here's the thing, it's stunning, but for the price, the room was definitely smaller than expected. Gorgeous but tight.

Had a very pleasant stay at Shutters. Great location in Santa Monica. I particularly liked the lobby and bar area - great for a nice drink. Possibly a bit of a refresh coming up in the next couple of years (ironically the shutters were starting to weather!) but nonetheless, a lovely spot In short - stay here if you can.

I liked the location, the room was very spacious and bed very comfortable.

My son and I stayed for several days while attending USC graduation ceremonies. Shutters is exceptional in every sense of the word. From arrival to departure and everything in between, Shutters' staff made sure you were catered to. The facilities are also first rate and you simply can't beat the location if it's a SoCal beach vacation that you are looking for.

This was my second visit to this hotel, and it did not disappoint. Service was terrific. Before arriving, the concierge recommended terrific restaurants, and after leaving Shutters, the hotel mailed back something I had left in the room via complimentary FedEx. The hotel is an easy 15-minute drive to the Getty Museum. and LACMA. The rooms are large and well appointed

The bed could have been put on the other wall so that when you lay in it you can see the ocean .

Amazing staff! Always happy to help with whatever you ask from them. The place is planned down to the smallest detail, both in aesthetics and comfort. The food is very tasty, loved everything.

It was a bit chilly during our stay, so we couldn’t really enjoy the pool, although we did see other people using it. Not the hotel’s fault of course. Hopefully next time ;)

The location is excellent for my taste, as it is right in front of the beach and you can ride a bike around the entire area and really enjoy the vibe.

* The rooms do not have good soundproofing or insulation from outside noise. * The bathroom has no sound insulation from the bedroom and offers no privacy at all. * The room is not as spacious as it should be. * The restaurant and bar do not meet the standards of a 5-star hotel. I have stayed at both hotels of the group, which are next to each other, and they both have the same issues.

Top Lage des Hotels im Ralph Lauren Style. Die Ruhe und Gelassenheit im Hotel ist hervorragend. ALLE Mitarbeiter sind super freundlich, selbst die Hausmeister grüßen auf der Straße. Mega Wasserdruck in der Dusche wie ich ihn noch nie in einem Hotel gesehen habe. Ein tolles Hotel mit einzigartigem Flair. Ich würde immer wieder dort übernachten. Damit wird der Urlaub in LA/ Santa Monica zum Erlebnis.

Preis ist schon heftig aber es ist halt eines der besten Hotels in Santa Monica. Das Badezimmer inkl. der Toilette ist leider extrem hellhörig, schade bei solch einem Hotel!

Excellent customer service. The staff was very friendly, and very attentive to details. I let them know it was my birthday and the had a beautiful slice of cake sent up with a glass of champagne. The hotel was was perfect very quaint and the view from my room was amazing. The room looked out to the beach. The food was yummy also. I was able to walk to the pier and you could also walk along the beach.

This is a beautiful hotel on the beach. Great location. Short walking distance to downtown Santa Monica. Great amenities- we used the bikes to ride to Venice and around the canals. Service is top notch at this hotel! The lobby is also beautiful. Coffee in the morning and nice music in the evening. We visited for our daughter's birthday and they surprised her with a slice of b-day cake and a card! So thoughtful! I strongly recommend getting the package that includes breakfast. You can also have breakfast at their sister hotel Casa Del Mar. Whenever we visit our daughter in LA, Shutters on the Beach or Casa Del Mar are my favorite places to stay.

the comforts of the room were impeccable. products in the room top notch. the small balcony with shutters was a great in-room amenity.

the wing of the hotel was only reachable by taking two banks of elevators. the lobby lounge was not full on the evening I sat down there, but service was non-existent except at a few tables by the standing bar. I went into the restaurant bar and that was very good service.

Shutters is quiet luxury with an amazing team that genuinely seems happy to be there. The events marketing team is wonderful - Li-ling, Maddie, Saule make planning a wedding easy and happy. Great apparel choices in the gift shop and Leila makes it so fun. Great food and drinks and magical setting.

Stayed hear 2 nights before heading to Japan. Great experience with very hospitable staff. Loved sun bathing on the pool deck overlooking the beach near Santa Monica pier. There is bar and restaurant service on the pool deck. Also coast is a great restaurant…we ate breakfast there twice and loved it. They also have a very nice gym. Best thing about the Hotel is its location.

Fantastic hotel. Refined accommodations with great amenities. Right on the beach. The hospitality and customer service here is incredible. I’m a very light sleeper and Akeem helped me with a room change that was above and beyond expectation. Here for a business event, but feels like a vacation.

A hotel that has always been on my bucket list and I was certainly not disappointed. It was just fabulous. A wonderful position just on the beach with a boardwalk right there for morning walks. Staff and service were great and the room so comfortable and beautifully furnished with a view over the pool area to the beach. Could not fault it. Would love to have stayed longer and will definitely try to return.

Shutters on the beach was already a must go fifteen years ago, and remains just the same. The place is beautiful and charming - exterior and interior, wonderfully decorated, perfectly maintained and with an attention to detail that distinguishes the very best hotels. Location is also great, with free bicycles to explore the area. 2 things could be improved: the pool is a bit small but the real inconvenience is that it has too much chlorine, I got a rash. Also, the food (lobby & room service) could be improved. Breakfast is good but breakfast is easy :) Best hotel is Los Angeles for me!

Everything was perfect from housekeeping to Front Desk. We were visiting the area to see family will return.

My sister and I had a suite. The room was quiet and had plenty of space for us. The hotel is located on the beach, which is amazing. The outdoor patio was excellent for breakfast. We rented bikes from the hotel and rode the boardwalk to Venice Beach for some shopping and lunch. The staff went above my expectations.

We were on the first floor overlooking a parking lot. Everything else was perfect and I will stay here next time I visit.

The location was perfect. I had a view of the ocean and the pool area. The food was 5 star quality. I would have liked a pina colada or a similar tropical drink but the bar staff at the pool didn't know how to make one.

Lots of homeless/strung out people which is so sad because of all the money that is supporting getting everyone help. Many stores have moved out of the shopping district because of the theft…

Perfect location, right on the beach. Studio king had pull out couch for our two kids. Big room and bathroom. 5 minute walk to the pier and 15 minute walk to 3rd St Promenade. Hotel staff were professional, kind, and went out of their way to make our stay special. Huge shout out to Hakeem at check in, and Sergio (hotel car driver). If you travel 3 miles or less, hotel offers free rides and if you’re lucky, Sergio will be your driver who will serenade you (upon request) with opera! Hotel restaurants are great and free drink tickets were appreciated. Can’t wait to return!

The hotel is located very good on the beach, we had two very nice balconies with a very nice view, confortable valet parking, nice decorated room

First of all, there was a gap between the balcony doors where cold air was coming in, and this was a problem because we happened to catch a cold spell, with nighttime temperatures dropping below 58 degrees. This is unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. Then, breakfast was not included in the already very high room rate, and the restaurant was also serving outside customers for breakfast, which meant we had to sit at uncomfortable tables and wait quite a long time before we could order.

Shutters on the Beach überzeugt nach wie vor durch seine einmalige Lage direkt am Strand und ein Personal, das in jeder Hinsicht herausragend ist. Vom Empfang über den Service bis hin zur Betreuung während des gesamten Aufenthaltes – das Team ist aufmerksam, herzlich und professionell, ohne dabei aufgesetzt zu wirken. Hier fühlt man sich sofort willkommen und bestens aufgehoben. Allerdings zeigt sich, dass das Hotel selbst in die Jahre gekommen ist. Trotz des charmanten Beach-House-Stils könnten Zimmer, Mobiliar und einige öffentliche Bereiche eine spürbare Modernisierung vertragen, um dem hohen Preisniveau und dem Premium-Anspruch vollständig gerecht zu werden. Besonders deutlich wird die Diskrepanz im gastronomischen Bereich. Die Küchenleistung bleibt leider hinter den Erwartungen zurück: Qualität und Kreativität der Speisen entsprechen nicht dem Standard, den man bei einem Haus dieser Kategorie erwartet. Hier wäre eine klare Weiterentwicklung wünschenswert – sowohl kulinarisch als auch im Hinblick auf Konsistenz und Präsentation. Fazit: Ein Hotel mit unvergleichlicher Atmosphäre, exzellentem Personal und einem Standort, der kaum zu übertreffen ist. Doch Substanz und Küche benötigen ein Update, um das Gesamtpaket wieder auf das Niveau zu bringen, das Shutters on the Beach aus der Vergangenheit kennt und verdient.

the location is sublime santa monica may be on its knees but shutters continues to shine like a gem and they have not rested in their laurels but they have invested improved and refreshed staff are great.......many are log term which is always a good sign food is great I have one gripe with the $55 resort charge which is shabby........i think it ought be on the room rate which would be more honest expression meantime whilst i disagree with their pricing policy we look forward to our next visit
