No hot water in shower !!!! No hair dryer . Had to get from reception . Said they would bring it up . Hour later still no haidryer . Went down again and waited for hairdrer . Then found I needed an adapter . Went down again to get it . Then found that the hairdryer did not work !!!!! Chicken bones left on the stair case . Uggh

Absolutely nothing, worst hotel experience.

We booked three rooms at the Balmoral Hotel and the rooms were terrible. When we entered the rooms we all had appalling experiences. My room was very dark, it smelt and it had no towels. My colleagues room had spiders on the bed and while complaining about the room conditions a rat walks across the reception floor. We requested a cancellation which they refused to give but we moved out immediately. This is not a 4* hotel standard and the staff were incapable of addressing customer complaints.

It was close to a lot of things and the staff were very friendly and helpful. 🤭😊

The other guests did not consider other guests. There was a lot of noise and the staff didn’t do anything to assist in alerting the noisy guests to keep it down… which made our relaxing very much uncomfortable 😣

The breakfast was amazing. Exceeded my expectations.

Limited parking, improve/upgrade your bathroom. We are in 2026, no need for that shower inside the bathtub.

The stay was exceptionally well, we were a big group with consisting of young adults so on the first night we were accused of stealing cold drinks and that didn’t sit well with us because the staff member was there and I was also there to help with facilitating the drinks being handed out. That was very frustrating as it went on for a while.

Place was halal no pictures of living things Atleast we could do our salah without a hassle

The hotel was a total down grade,asked for a working shower but instead got cold water took 30 mins to figure out why there is no hot water. Buffet breakfast was a rip off. Staff was unhelpful and very rude. They behave like its their money 💰 no sense of customer service. Area is very dangerous. Scary people lottering around hotel. Room curtains were stained and dirty. In simple words, I will never book this hotel again. No sense if safety. Cleaning staff sitting on staircase playing with their mobiles dnt even move when guests using the stairs. The balmoral is slowly becoming like a 1 star hotel.

Property is very old. Definitely no longer a 4 star. Price special was meaningless without breakfast compared to a nearby 4 chain with updated facilities. Torn upholstery. Toilet was malfunctional in the first room. No hot Water on day 1 in the second room. Shower water diverter lever on the tap had to be kept pressed down while showering as the water would divert to the bath when not pressed down. No hand towels or shower mat. Unfortunate that the lift wasn’t working at our arrival but they worked through the night to fix it.

The staff was very friendly, professional and very helpful, parking arrangement and promises were met and reliable.

The outside noise on the side of room 201 and 203 was very very noisy at all times. There are vents/noisy air vents that run all time on that side, besides the street and the noisy loitering at night, we could not sleep at all with the noisy vents. There were coackroaches in the toilet. The noise from outside was the worst experiance. One cannot sleep at all. I cannot sleep with windows tightly closed and that made it worse. The carpet needs to be taken out. The hotel needs a proper upgrade

The vintage look was beautiful and it's across the beach. The sunrise was absolutely breathtaking. I love the terrace from morning breakfast to dinner the vibe was lovely. The breakfast was lovely and Halaal.

That our room was facing a building and it was a bit dark and the flo or was squeaky.

Muito bem localizado. Opções de fast food a 1 quadra de distância. Equipe prestativa, educada e atenciosa. Ótimo café da manhã. Hotel antigo, mas renovado. Quartos grandes. Ótima opção para quem vai correr a COMRADES Marathon.

Quem fica no primeiro andar, na ala lateral do hotel, pode se incomodar com os barulhos de pessoas conversando na rua durante a madrugada. Hotel não vende, nem permite consumo de bebidas alcoólicas no interior.

The fact that my room was upgraded was a bonus. Beautiful sea viewing from room 123. We were also impressed by the decorations in the room which made my wife's birthday extra special . Thanks.

I was disappointed by the cleaners who did not clean my daughter's room. After complaining at the reception in the night, they ultimately cleaned it.

I liked the friendly staff and the area

The noise.people were coming in drunk and making alot of noise. There was no drinking water in the room and when we wanted to buy water at the hotel we could only purchase 1 small bottle because they were out of stock. Coffee and tea were supplied but without water it was useless.

Me hospedei por 7 noites pra participar da Comrades Marathon e recomento para tal evento. Hotel fica bem próximo da largada (quando o sentido da corrida é Up Run, cuja largada é em Durban). Além de estar localizado na linda orla de Durban, há supermercado, bares e restaurantes próximos ao hotel. O arredor do hotel é bastante seguro durante o dia, embora não seja recomendável sair sozinho depois que escurece. Hotel oferece um excelente café da manhã e tem restaurante aberto até às 22h diariamente. Staff bastante gentil e amigável. Quarto bem confortável, com chuveiro bem quente e frigobar.

Hotel um pouco antigo, mas atende muito bem todas as necessidades.

All the furniture is so antique and the carpet on the stairs and floors is very old and dirty. Modernise a bit Balmoral. The food in the restaurant was cold when served and not very tasteful

The lady that did my booking did not do a proper hand over to the night shift team. My guest were told to pay whereas I had already paid. I had to drive 28km to speak to the night shift team to explain what occurred. I was not happy with this and I hope it does not occur again. I was also very sad that the price was reduced 25% if I booked directly from the hotel. I do feel this must be communicated to customers.
