The only thing we didn’t like is how the security profiled & harrassed My Husband at the pool and told him weed smoking is not allowed if he smokes an My Husband doesn’t smoke anything He is a Pastor of a Christian Church We felt bad for a few hours bcz neither one of us had NO intentions on smoking anything An we were the ONLY couple that security approached an YES we are African Americans He didn’t approach any other couple Please DO BETTER‼️‼️‼️‼️
Everyone was so welcoming and friendly
Staff were excellent. Loved the pool area. Rooms were excellent.
The bed could have been more comfortable.
Customer service was great. Our room was amazing. Location is very nice.
It’s too pricey
I loved the bar on the lobby along with the bar tender Maria she was wonder and paid attention to her guest needs
Definitely overpriced, room #916 and the entire floor smelled like mildew
Very convenient location, we were at the heart of everything including restaurants, a Walgreens at walking distance, Starbucks in front of the hotel and Condado beach (with the infamous pineapple stand & Puerto Rican flag) behind us. Ubers were especially cheap to go around San Juan or so. The staff here was so friendly & kind and house keeping was on point! Balcony was overseeing the ocean, it was a good stay.
Rooms were a little on the smaller side and I believe the price wasn’t much for the room itself but more or so for the convenience of the location.
Cesar is the Freddy Mercury ( Front man from the iconic rock & roll band QUEEN) of security.. Made me feel like I’ve known him forever.. Coming from a charter member associate at the Brooklyn bridge Marriott, 28 years strong.. Keep up the amazing work that you do with your amazing hospitality skills plus keeping the hotel guests safe… Much love.. Armando from Brooklyn New York!!🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
We just stayed at the San Juan Marriott and let me warn you, these rooms are horrible. The beds are not queen size at all. The are so small if you are traveling with a family it’s impossible to sleep with more than one person per bed. Also, this room smelled like paint upon check in and look at the floors!! They were all dirty and disgusting and all scratched up! And we got upgraded to this room!! If you want to go in the pool good luck. It’s way overcrowded and isn’t big enough for the amount of rooms they have. Never again would I stay at this hotel.
Great location and lots to do. Food is wonderful. We enjoyed ordering room service. The vibe is perfect and housekeeping kept up with all of our needs. There was some noise for sure. The room next to us, the dogs in the apartment building close by, and there was a little concert or something one night. Don’t bother us too much, though. The staff is over the top accommodating, pleasant, and seemed genuinely concerned about making sure we were well cared for. We loved it.
Stayed here with my family - it's in a great location and the hotel is nice on the surface, but there were too many problems under the surface to recommend it. Rooms felt constantly damp; walls are thin to the point where we could clearly hear neighboring guests yelling in their rooms at all hours; many spaces in the hotel reeked of weed. The TV is volume-locked so you can't turn it up beyond a certain level that was difficult to hear above the AC. The beach gets cleared of chairs and umbrellas at 5:30, and the beach itself is locked off at 7, which makes it difficult to enjoy the main attraction of the hotel. Housekeeping frequently didn't clean and makeup the room until past 6 PM, and one day I had to request multiple times for someone to come clean the room and replace the towels, eventually they came around 7:30 PM. When I got the final bill we'd been charged an extra ~$100 for parking which he hadn't used. No apology when I pointed it out. There's also the issue of the $65/day "resort fee". Total rip-off.
It was great, well kept. Smelled great and the casino team was the highlight

I’ve stayed at this hotel perviously but not in the made tower, when booking it says fully renovated room- when?! The room I stayed in had a strange order probably coming from the AC unit. The room always felt damp, even the sheets and pillows felt damp. There were visible rusty spots in the bathroom on the ceiling, the paint in the room especially in the bathroom looked like there were so many coats to conceal water damage or maybe even mold. The rooms are decent but not what I would except for almost $500 p/n. On a positive every staff member I encountered was friendly and very helpful! The beach and the pool were relaxing and well maintained. The grounds and the common areas and lobby of the hotel are clean and kept up. I love PR and I enjoy visiting but I would never stay here again! *Additionally, Please take down the newly renovated on your website to say certain sections are newly renovated.
We love that it was right on the beach and there were lots of cafes, restaurants and grocery stores to walk to.
I think the food and drink prices were slightly overpriced but very good quality.
I stayed at the resort back in April and I would never go back again. Right after checking in and going into our room, the front desk called the phone saying we needed to turn our music on the television down. Not to mention, the volume wasn’t even turned all the way up and it was only 4pm! The rooms were decent. However, staff treats guests like children! At the pool area, security confronted our group (adult couples) about hugging/touching/being affectionate saying “this is a family resort” but there weren’t any kids around nor were there any explicit physical interactions. I believe security also randomly walks the hallways on each floor monitoring the room doors. The hotel itself is a little pricey so if you are actually trying to have a good time and enjoy yourself, find another hotel to book where you aren’t micromanaged about every little thing.
It’s unreal to pay $6000 for two rooms, 3 family members, and be charged a mandatory $65/room/day for “internet access” as a Premier Platinum member. Marriott is turning into a total ripoff to their most loyal customers.
We loved our stay at Stellaris. It's a beautiful hotel that offers comfort, fancy and the nicest staff ever. From housekeeping to the concierge and everyone in between. We had so much fun in the pool area and enjoyed the quite time on the beach as well. It was nice to have wait service at the beach along with some locals selling coconut water and pineapples. The most delicious pineapple I have ever had. Near by restaurants are excellent, from casual food to gourmet high end kitchens. It's a short uber ride to Old San Juan for some culture, history and more food and cocktails.
Good location and pool
Rooms are like cruise cabins, super loud and uncomfortable
We were seriously considering the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino as our destination wedding venue, and unfortunately, the experience with the events team was the worst of any property we visited. My fiancé and I traveled from New York to Puerto Rico specifically to tour wedding venues. We visited eight hotels during our trip, and Marriott was the only one that made us feel like our time and business did not matter. From our very first interaction, the wedding sales team was dismissive. When our preferred date was unavailable, no alternatives were suggested. After we confirmed our travel, we asked if someone could meet with us while we were on the island. Instead, we were only offered dates after we had already returned home. Every alternative, including a FaceTime tour, had to be suggested by us. The most disappointing part happened when we stopped by the hotel on July 3. We paid for parking, had drinks in the lobby, and simply asked if someone could spend a few minutes showing us the wedding spaces. The front desk contacted the events team, but despite someone being on-site, we were told no one would meet with us and that we could only walk through the public lobby on our own. We were prepared to spend thousands on our wedding and related guest accommodations at this property. Instead, we chose another venue. Hospitality is about making guests feel welcome, and unfortunately, that was not our experience here. I hope Marriott reviews how prospective wedding clients are treated because this experience was completely inconsistent with the level of service I have come to expect from the Marriott brand.
Slide! Centrally located
A beautiful property. The gym is very good for a hotel gym
Pricey
The staff was friendly and professional. The food was good, I liked having the casino on site.
The rooms were so cold and we had issues getting the temperature adjusted.
I took my daughter here on a girls trip. The hotel is really nice and we had a blast. The rooms are comfortable and the view is great. The pool is a wonderful spot to spend the day, and the drinks and food served poolside is good. It’s a very chill report experience. My daughter never got tired of it. We especially enjoyed the restaurant where breakfast is served. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff here was above and beyond. There are lots of food options around the hotel too, and it’s a walkable area. Highly recommend!
Property is in an amazing location with any and everything you want within walking distance. Amazing restaurant options and spots to just relax and have a beverage. Starbucks across the street is sweet! Hotel itself needs some changes to charge $42 for the breakfast buffet is absolutely insane for what you get and the quality, raw sausage undercooked potatoes and powdered eggs.. The taking the beach chairs and umbrellas at 5:30 every day is wild. After that time you have to lay on a towel on the beach if you are not ready to leave. Hotel itself is very nice and modern. We prepaid for the breakfast and was still charged for it at checkout so be careful. Spoke to Marya in billing she put me on hold and never returned to the line. But other than that great experience and we had a wonderful time celebrating or 34th Wedding Anniversary in San Juan although no well wishes from the Marriott like we got last year.
We loved that you can walk right onto the beach from the hotel. We also loved all the restaurants on the property. The pool area was great. The cleanness of the property was amazing. The casino was excellent.
We didn't appreciate all the weed smoking that was going on at the property while we would sit on the balcony to enjoy the view of the ocean. The beds could be more comfortable (the mattress was too hard).
La facilidades, la amabilidad. Lo servicio super todo los empleados hasta los de mantenimiento bien educados.
No tengo ninguna queja
The property was amazing
Everything was amazing
Todas las facilidades desde que entras al hotel. Su personal, amabilidad. Calidad. La vista de la habitación fue impresionante. Me encantó todo.
Todo fue perfecto 👌
We booked two separate stays here with a trip to the southern part of the island in between. The hotel is in a great location on the Condado strip, and plenty of food options are in walking distance, along with a Walgreen's. The lobby is inviting and the valets are helpful with arranging transportation to Old San Juan, the airport, or anywhere else you want to go. There is also an Enterprise car rental location on-site, which was convenient for us. We enjoyed morning coffee and pastries from Cafe Mercado, and arranged to have sandwiches made for us to take to El Yunque. Cosecha is a solid option for a meal, especially if you've had a long day of sightseeing and don't want to stray. The pool and beach areas are nice, plenty of chairs, and friendly beach attendants who set up chairs and umbrellas for hotel guests. There is also bar service at both poolside and beach. The rooms were advertised as recently remodeled, and I would doubt that for either of the rooms we had. They both looked a little the worse for wear, and on the second room, the bathroom door was locked when we entered. Maintenance came immediately and unlocked it, but there was an issue with the locking mechanism and the door sometimes stuck if you closed it completely. It took some effort to get it opened from the inside. The rooms are generally small, but ok for two. We did enjoy our ocean front balcony and the sound of the waves. Also, there was quite some hallway noise, but we never heard anything between rooms. Housekeeping was daily and they did a nice job. The bands on Friday and Saturday night were great, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the dancing. By far, the absolute best thing about this hotel is the staff. Every person we engaged with, from restaurant servers to front desk to valets to pool bar and beach attendants was smiling, friendly, and acted as though they really wanted to be there. In particular, shout outs to everyone at Cafe Mercado, Jose at Cosecha, Maria at the lobby bar (now I know how to order a dirty martini en espanol!), Frederick at valet, and Stephanie, Miguel, and Juliel at the pool. All of these folks are great examples of true Puerto Rican spirit and made our first visit back to the island in 10 years special. My husband was born and raised in San Juan and it makes my heart happy to see that the warmth of the people has not changed.
The location and how clean it was
N/a
The beauty of this place is definitely worth the price.
Very late check in times and the room I booked wasn’t as pictures described. however check out time allows for us to stay on property so long as we leave our luggage with bell boy.
Denize sıfır olması. Plaj hizmetleri mükemmel. Havlu şemsiye şezlong servisi mükemmel. Konum olarak da çok iyiydi. Eski şehire de yakındı
Oda da havlu sayıları eksikti. Buna dikkat edilmesi gerekir.odada kaç kişi kalıyorsa ona göre havlu bırakılmalı
How clean it always is and the staff always so attentive and friendly and respectful. We have been to Puerto Rico plenty of times and The Marriott Stellaris is always a return for my family and myself.
I recently had the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico for a week. The lobby of this particular hotel looked as though it had been renovated. It looks very clean, elegant. It was a bit different when we reached our room.we had to switch rooms twice due to the musty odor in the room. There were large fans running in the hallway. Not sure if there was a flood of some sort, but the odor was awful. We were switched to a second room that had an odor from some sort of adhesive. Not sure if they had recently replaced the rugs outside of the room, but the odor was awful. My husband has respiratory issues so we requested to be moved a second time since it was affecting his breathing. The third room was acceptable, but not totally up to Marriott standards. The hotel rates are not cheap and the website stated that it had recently gone through renovations. I expected a spotless room, but the room did not live up to my expectations. The room seemed outdated, the bathroom needed updating and the vents in the room were full of dust. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The restaurant in the hotel was good. The beach was pleasant, but each day that we visited the beach we were told there were not enough beach chairs since most of them were broken. Can Marriott not afford to replace broke chairs? I would think they can given the rates they charge their guests. The gym seemed like an after thought…located in the lower level of the hotel. It was small, cramped and didn’t have much circulating air. Lobby level would have been better.i was very disappointed with my stay and would not recommend this hotel under the current conditions. Hopefully, Marriott will take a serious look at this issues and address them!
I only stayed one night and I got charged for the second night so I would like a refund from you
I only stayed on the night of the 13th and did not stay the night of the 14th and the hotel said to talk to you about it
Staff and location are great . Adriana check me in and was very helpful of understanding the property. Rita was very nice and made sure to speak when i saw her at the pool . Willamarie made sure i didn’t need anything at all while serving brunch
Close to the tourists spots
Hard to say
Beachfront, casino
No
Just finished up a stay here for a birthday weekend. All I have to say is this hotel blew my expectations out of the water. Seemed pretty basic from the pics and wasn’t looking for much anyway just to lay in the sun upon entry the lobby looks to be newly renovated as does the rest of the hotel and the staff was very friendly upon greeting. The pool area was great and the swim up bar was nice. Cynthia at the pool bar was awesome and so sweet. We did a day bed rental which ran for $223 with taxes and was worth the separation and comfort. Julio our server was great and attentive to us at the bed and even In the pool area checking on us. The room was fine nothing over the top but not underwhelming. The view from the cabana side of the hotel was spectacular and I’d choose it again. I can’t wait to come back and this hotel will definitely be at the top of my list to stay again.
I had high hopes for this hotel based on reviews and renovation but I was not impressed. This is definitely not worth the high cost and resort fees. Every single meal was no less than $100, the halls were frequently littered with dirty towels and trash and the intoxicated guests at 1 am were just the icing on the cake. The room was “so-so”. On my last day, with a checkout of 1 pm, I was locked out of my room - where all of my bags were - at 12 pm.
Great location, right on the beach. Close to the airport. Beautiful hotel and great service
The only thing I didn’t like was the room I reserved was smaller than I liked, especially the bathroom. But still a very nice room
My wife and I just came back from an amazing trip at the San Juan Stellaris. We had gone down in November with my family and had a great time then and this trip was even better. They seem to be implementing different things to enhance the guest experience such as cold drinks and snacks available at the pool in the afternoon. Every employee and manager/supervisor we interacted with were always so pleasant and made you feel appreciated. Each and everyone of them deserves praises but since we were so busy enjoying ourselves didn’t take all of the names but wanted to publicly recognize the ones I did for helping make this a great trip. To start off Jonathan Cruz a bell hop took us to check out a room before we decided to move to a different one and he couldn’t have been any nicer and personable. Every morning we ate breakfast in the restaurant and everyone who took care of us including the chefs that made the omelettes did a great job and were very helpful with suggestions for San Juan and Rincon which we will be going to later this month. The servers we had Leanne Lara Miguel R, Johanny Callao and Rocio Henriquez were all so personable along with Cristina Parra one of the hostesses and some of them remembered us from my 60th birthday celebration in November. Since I get up early and get chairs and do work on the beach I got to interact with the guys responsible for setting up the beach (sometimes watched them at @530 setting up umbrellas) and they all work so hard and are very helpful to the guests as well as very personable. The ones I recall and also remembered us from November were William and Ivan The hotel is probably the cleanest and most well maintained one I have stayed in and the bathrooms near the pool were impeccable and it’s not easy to do that. It is obvious a priority is placed on that and they take pride in their job. Two of the employees that did a great job were Gilberto Espinosa and Cristine Cortes Myrna segura was the person who was in charge of the complimentary pool drinks and snack set up that I mentioned earlier and kept making sure there was fresh ice and the drinks were full. At the Front desk Jasni Odsaz who I met in November was still on point as well as Nathaniel in guest relations and Roberto the front desk supervisor Had the pleasure of meeting Francis Bestard a manager at en Elite prosceco event and it is evident he takes pride in his job and has the experience necessary to keep the well deserved reputation the hotel has and enhance the experience We are actually heading back for a few days at the end of the month and looking forward to seeing everyone again
Location, bar staff
Room-bathroom very small (barn/pocket door would help)
If you are traveling to San Juan Puerto Rico this hotel is a must. From the ambience as soon as you walk in to the island fresh scent of the lobby this hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels in San Juan my opinion. All staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable of the area. The pool, swim up bar and facilities are fantastic. The cleanliness is always above par and the housekeepers are very friendly. Overall, if you are in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico and need somewhere to stay the San Juan Marriott Stellaris is 10000000/10. Thank you to their entire team for being such a great example for what exceptional hospitality looks like.!!!!
From the moment we arrived, everything about our stay exceeded expectations. The service was truly top-tier — every single person made us feel welcomed, taken care of, and safe the entire time. The food was consistently delicious, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for — relaxing during the day and lively at night. The swim-up bar at Brisa was a highlight, and the live bands in the evening added the perfect vibe to unwind and enjoy. What really made this experience unforgettable was the staff. Cynthia at the Brisa pool bar was amazing, and Jeanette went above and beyond. A huge thank you as well to Maria and Michelle at Azure — their service and energy were incredible. The location couldn’t have been better — everything we needed was right there or just a short walk away. This trip was everything we wanted and more. We will absolutely be back!
Came here with extended family and both rooms were great. We had a city view and a partial ocean view. Both rooms were very clean with no moldy smell! Pool area was our favorite with the swim up bar and slide. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops in walking distance. We will return.
Staff was professional and helpful.
The photos on the website didn’t match the real property; it was way too busy with kids and loud guests late at night and in the pool areas; the restaurants available in the property were not good, except for Terazo.
As a travel agent, I’ve been to a lot of properties in Puerto Rico, but I keep coming back to San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. It’s easily one of my favorites, especially for families. First off, you really can’t beat the location. You are right on the beach, no shuttles, no long walks. Chairs and umbrellas are set up, and it just makes everything feel easy. Exactly what you want on vacation. The pool setup is a huge win, especially with kids. There are two big pools: One is only about 2.5 feet deep, which was amazing for my kid who isn’t a strong swimmer. Total peace of mind, and they basically lived in that pool the entire trip. The second pool has a swim-up bar and a water slide, and the kids were obsessed with the slide. The rooms are super comfortable, and if you get a balcony, the views are beautiful, perfect for morning coffee or just winding down at night. Food-wise, it’s what you’d expect from a Marriott. A little pricey, but solid: There’s actually really good sushi in the lobby, which was a nice surprise. The breakfast buffet is big and has a ton of options, but it’s around $45 per adult (kids are less). If you have status with Marriott Bonvoy, you might get that included. There’s also a little bakery/coffee spot in the lobby, convenient, but also not cheap. One thing I really loved is how much they do for kids. There are activities going on all day, popcorn, snow cones, relay races, sandcastle building, even clay molding. Plus free bike rentals, and tennis/pickleball courts if you want to stay active. The location is also perfect. You walk outside and there are tons of restaurants, breakfast spots, and even a Walgreens right there if you need anything. And getting to Old San Juan is super easy, about a 10–15 minute Uber. Bottom line: it’s just an easy, fun, no-stress resort that works really well for families but is still great for adults too. I recommend it all the time, and I’d go back in a heartbeat.
The rooms were comfortable and a good size. The staff were all great and very helpful. The pool was nice but they didn’t really play music which I think would’ve been nice. The beach is beautiful but not great for swimming because it can be dangerous. There were plenty of places to sit and hang out with beautiful views. We had an ocean view room with a balcony which was great too. There were a couple chairs out there to look at the view. The casino is decent but not huge - plenty of slots, live roulette, blackjack, and a few other games. Lots of fun drinks that were around $14-18. Some of the restaurants around the pool didn’t take cash, just card or room charge.
Service could be a little slower at times in the restaurants but you’re on vacation so it’s usually fine. I got a rate where the breakfast was included with the stay but I probably wouldn’t have paid the full price for the breakfast buffet. It was great but not quite $40 great. The hotel is expensive but very nice.
Water slide casino
The lobby and common areas were beautifully maintained, and both the pool and beach areas were very enjoyable. I stayed in an oceanfront king room—while the view was absolutely stunning, the room itself was quite small. The bathroom was especially tight, with the shower, toilet, and sink all very close together, making it difficult to move around comfortably. The hotel does offer larger king rooms, and if space is important to you, I would recommend upgrading if your budget allows. Unfortunately, our floor had a noticeable odor from the carpet. It appeared they had recently shampooed it, but the smell seemed to worsen, and there were blowers running to dry the carpet. The website mentions fully renovated rooms in the main tower, but that wasn’t reflected in our experience. Given the price point, the rooms felt outdated and in need of another renovation to meet expectations. On a positive note, the staff were consistently helpful, friendly, and welcoming—especially in the lobby and at the beach, where they quickly assisted us with chairs, towels, and an umbrella. The hotel is also conveniently located near restaurants, shops, and other attractions, which made getting around very easy.
Ubicación
Lobby and common areas nice. Enjoyed bingo and pool waiter service. Room while updated smells like mildew and was a complaint of multiple guests.
I don't know why we saw so many great reviews for this hotel - so many that we decided to stay there after researching all the other hotels in San Juan. Very average mediocre hotel with nothing special. The pools and slide we disappointing and a little weirdly built. The slide is old and uncomfortable to go down (and isn't open all the time. The reception has a bar that probably is visited by people outside the hotel and so is loud and not very pleasant. Food is not very good. Overall - not impressed and wouldn't go back again.
The location! The beach is perfect. Rooms are nice
Pool seats reservations need to be better organized. I seat per person at a time.
Excellent hotel, food, service. Pool and beach access right there. Beautiful location close to many restaurants, stores, etc. Our room was spotless, service was impeccable. Very lovely stay.
They charge a resort fee of week over$100 per day. I'm sure i could argue about it, but when you arrive at 9pm and the band in the lobby makes it impossible to hear, that's very difficult. We ordered 3 sandwiches and a bottle of mid grade wine at the only open food venue at 9pm on a Friday night. It took over 75 minutes, and they didn't activate the pager they'd given us. Our child was sleeping in the lobby and our food was cold to the point that half of it was inedible, all while we day about 20 feet away. For 3 people to grab a "snack" after 16 hours of traveling a bill of over$150 for cold food is pretty disappointing. Tried reaching out to them via the app before posting to see if they'd try to make it right, got ignored.
La piscine est magnifique
Great spot on the beach - Pool area is awesome. Gets crowded at the bar at nights; but we didn't mind. Small casino if you are into that - very easy to walk around in town. Rooms are small, but not terrible.
The casino was very nice
Pros: Centrally located hotel with many restaurants accessible by walking. Very nice hotel reception area and lower ground floor. Pool area is great. Service was outstanding. Clean rooms with nice views. Nice and clean beach. Cons: The breakfast buffet is expensive and not good despite many choices. Breakfast a la carte is much better and reasonably priced. Rooms can get noisy when guests are loud. Terrible pillows even if replaced. Sleeping can be a challenge without sleep aids. Staff will not open umbrellas when windy even when all other resorts have them opened. More pool area sitting is required. Tiny business area. Many closed gambling tables at the casino. We never saw an opened craps table, my favorite game. Strong currents can be dangerous for children.
The room rate is much too high for the attributes! The rooms are very small and the ocean view was just a sliver and the remaining view was of another high rise building. The toilet paper was cheap, one-ply and I would figure a resort hotel would have a more quality toilet paper. My wife and I asked 3 times in 3 days to refill the body wash in the bathroom. Never happened. The resort fee was $75 a day and you had to arrive early to get an ocean front beach chair. The beach is average and has a large rock formation in the swimming area!
We just checked in. We plan to stay for 7 days paying 500$ per night plus additional >60$ fees. Our room has a view to the roof of a building!!! Total rip off! Stay away!
Centrally located
Shuttle service to the airport
I stayed at this property for a quick vacation everything is beautiful could not recommend more!!
Ottima posizione, servizi ottimi e personale gentile. Ho letto recensioni che lamentavano l’assenza di lettini in spiaggia, noi l’abbiamo sempre trovato senza problemi!
Tutto perfetto
We stayed at the San Juan Marriott for a week at the end of February. This is the first time I've felt it necessary to make a list of my experiences (both good and bad) to include in my review. First the Pros: The location of this hotel is perfect, within walking distance to multiple restaurants, shops and drug stores. Housekeeping was spectacular! They always found time to make up our room regardless of when we left during they day and did a great job at keeping things tidy. They never failed to leave 3 bottles of water and restock the toiletry items. Next the Cons: Our room wasn't ready at the check in time of 4 and we ended up waiting until 4:45 to check in. While we waited for check in, we visited the spa to make massage appointments. During the entire week of our reservation, we couldn't get even ONE couples massage. I've never had this experience before and was very disappointed. Luckily we visited the Vanderbilt Hotel multiple times for spa treatments during our week's stay and they were wonderful. By day 2 we couldn't use streaming services on the tv in the room. After several calls they finally sent a technician who had to work for about an hour to fix it. The TV volume would not go over a certain setting--which was ok most times but we were above the hotel's outdoor venue and in the evenings they had VERY LOUD music from 5-10 pm and you couldn't watch tv or do anything else due to noise. The last complaint I will mention is the worst one--other reviews mention a mildew smell and there is a VERY STRONG mildew smell in the room. While I've stayed elsewhere with a slight smell, this room was really bad. Be prepared to wash everything when you return home. The staff was just ok-some friendly, some not. For this price I expected better and will book a different hotel on my return to Puerto Rico.
We decided to book this hotel for our last night in Puerto Rico and it exceeded our expectations. The service and staff were amazing. I wish I could remember her name (possibly Lisa) in the breakfast restaurant but she was truly wonderful. My 8 year old loved swimming in the ocean waves. We thoroughly enjoyed our ocean front balcony in the tower, just would have preferred two queen beds instead of 2 doubles. Would definitely stay here again! Everything was just so easy and the staff seems to truly care that you have a great time. Thank you!
very long wait for breakfast. not suitable hotel for stopovers. bar and bar service poor. charged me for breakfast even though it was included in my reservation.
Cafe was good pool and beach. Staff super friendly
More options of food.
I have had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for a week during my first visit to Puerto Rico. As my review title indicates, I've had better treatment at this hotel compared to five star hotels I've stayed at before, even though I booked in during one of the busiest weeks for tourism in Puerto Rico. Staff members proactively greeted me in English (this should not be expected everywhere you go in PR, so it's noteworthy), remembered my name as I stayed without the elaborate process that five star resorts have to pull that off, and clearly take pride in both their work quality as well as Puerto Rico itself. The balcony room I had on the city side was impeccably clean and well-kept by housekeeping. Despite being city side, noise was extremely low compared to the urban location I live in. From an amenities perspective, I ate at most of the restaurants on-property in addition to the multiple restaurants across the street. Laundry service was indeed same-day delivery. The pool includes multiple poolside / cabana type bars with beach towel service. Two pharmacies, both with expanded grocery-store style selections to include beer as well as liquor are right next to the hotel if you want some additional items not found in the market. From a location perspective, despite being right in Condado, it worked out well. With a rental car from the airport (Enterprise has an office onsite also), in traffic I was able to take a freeway drive from the airport within 30 minutes. I drove throughout the island, so I used the valet service which again was well-staffed and promptly pulled my car up when I called from my hotel room. From the property, despite being beachside, you can quickly get to the freeway system (called Las Autopistas de Puerto Rico), and when you get on the freeway it's right at the interchange for Puerto Rico Highway 22 to get to the western side of the island, or Highway 26 to get you over to El Yunque to the east decently quickly. I used Uber to get into Old San Juan (also near the primary Cruise Ship Terminal) and it is about a 20 - 30 minute ride depending on traffic for a really good price compared to places like Washington, DC. The only downside to this property is that the while it does have a casino, folks should manage their expectations and view this casino as more of an amenity than one that you would find as a primary attractor to the property like in Las Vegas. The casino space, while premium in style and looks, was really, really small in size. There were not many table games being played during the day, no poker room (just one or two 3 card poker tables) and the bar within the casino space was empty. This is minor though as again the primary draw of the property is the beach and being in Puerto Rico. I had an amazing time at this property, with amazing service, and despite the premium price paid, I would readily stay here again when I am in Puerto Rico next time. Staff here did a great job of setting the standard for hospitality and representing the Marriott brand well.
I booked this property a few months ago because my wife and I are taking a yacht trip out of San Juan for Valentine’s Day. The property looked nice and convenient on the Marriott website. A couple of days before my trip I noticed I got a charge for far more than the rate that was on my booking. The charge was also put on the wrong card. I called my Marriott Ambassador and asked them to look into it, and they called the hotel and they admitted they made a mistake. I was told I had to address this with the hotel when I checked in. This was terribly inconvenient. It was there mistake. When I got to the hotel, I got the credit, but the manager had no explanation of why it happened. I did not even get an apology. This really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If I had not caught this, would they have just accepted the overly inflated charge??
We had an amazing family vacation at the resort. The staff was extremely friendly, polite, and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned every day, and housekeeping did a great job. The service was outstanding — whether we were at the beach, by the pool, or dining at the restaurant, we were able to order food easily from anywhere. Umbrellas and towels were always available, and anything we needed was provided right away. The team truly made us feel comfortable and well taken care of.
The staff, beach and food
Too many children.
Pool and Lobby area is very nice. We had a corner room with ocean view with a nicely appointed bathroom with plenty of towels.
Food and coffee was expensive. Food was just ok.
