Location, staff, especially the engineer Charlie

While we didn't come to San Francisco to watch TV, it was nice to relax at night with a Netflix movie. Unfortunately, the hotel's internet or whatever made that very difficult. We could connect, but the Tv would turn itself off and/or just disconnect from the app. Charlie, the engineer came to our rescue more than once, but ultimately the hotel needs to install smart TVs.

It’s so close to many shops, restaurants, and parks. The staff was super friendly and room was clean.

I only had an issue with standing water in the shower in the room I stayed in.

Amazing hotel, location was great, staff was friendly and the most important they have very clean rooms.Really enjoyed it.

The hotel is very comfy, very clean and well located. Enjoyed the gym and the lounge. A very good choice to get around the city.

We were in the city for only one night, and the Hyatt Regency SoMa was perfect for us. Digital check-in worked like a charm--we didn't have to go to the front desk at all. Our room was on the 18th floor with a nice view of the city; it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel's location is close to Yerba Buena Gardens, shopping, and a wide range of food options. We loved that we could walk to dinner rather than move the car and deal with traffic. We parked at the garage across from the hotel; it was half the cost of the hotel's valet parking, which was a good deal for us since we didn't need in-and-out privileges on this trip.

Beautiful property with good facilities in an amazing location.

My only gripe would be the “destination fee” which feels like a forced tax. I guess at least we didn’t have to tip as a result of it. The staff in the marketplace felt a bit rude and abrupt at times, especially the elder man in the evenings.

We've stayed here before and choose this location again because of the Hotel, Staff and Location to Oracle Park. We went to see Noah Kahan for my wife's birthday and stayed for the weekend. This location always provides the best visits to the city and we look forward to coming back soon!

The views from our room were amazing and the gym was nice and clean!

Had a great stay at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA. The club lounge was a highlight—comfortable, convenient, and a nice perk during the stay. I’d love to see a little more variety in the snack options, with different choices rotated throughout the week. It would also be a nice touch to include one complimentary alcoholic drink per guest during the afternoon small bites. The elevators were impressively fast, and the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Another big plus was the parking option directly across the street, which was about half the price of the hotel parking and included in-and-out privileges. Location is great for doing the touristy things. Overall, a very pleasant stay with a great location and friendly service. I’d definitely stay here again when I’m in San Francisco!

Sherman is the best bartender in town.

Good location between Embarcadero and Union Sq. Rooms nicely appointed and great view from 35th floor. Do not think the Regency Club offering is worth $.

We had an excellent stay! Convenient location for public transportation, clean, spacious and comfortable room, excellent housekeeping. Appreciate the attentive staff for luggage storage. Definitely recommended!

I highly recommend this hotel! The staff were the nicest, everything was clean, the location is great right in the heart of the city and close to most of the attractions and public transportation. I traveled alone and the hotel was very friendly to solo travellers like myself. Definitely worth it!

Freundlicher Empfang, großzügiges Zimmer mit einem sehr guten Kaffee und flüssige Kaffeesahne dazu die auch täglich ordentlich nachgefüllt wurde. Zimmermädchen war sehr ordentlich. Gute Anbindung zu öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln.

Die Bettdecken waren zu warm, und dadurch, dass keine Spannbetttücher benutzt werden, zog man mit der Bettdeckenkonstruktion auch das Laken unter der Matratze vor. Die Klimaanlage ist relativ laut.

The staff are competent, helpful and very friendly. The bed was comfortable and there was good lighting in the room. The shower was also good. We enjoyed the breakfasts.

We would love to have some fresh air in the room. Living with air conditioning at night is not comfortable. There are several ‘extra’ fees on top of the room rate, so know the total price.

Spent two nights at this property in mid-August to visit my daughter who lives in SF. This was one of the most exceptional experiences I've had in recent memory at a Hyatt property and I simply cannot recommend this hotel enough from start to finish. I was greeted by Sara at check-in who was so welcoming and helpful with a huge smile! As a Globalist I was upgraded to the Corner King room (more on that in a moment) and Sara even handed me a $15 voucher for the Market coffee shop/convenience store on-property (which my daughter used for an excellent Equator Coffee latte). The hotel lobby is very well-maintained and luxurious and the lobby bar is well-stocked with excellent cocktail options and knowledgeable bartenders who really know their mixology. From the instant I walked into the corner suite I was struck by the stunning city views provided by the wall-to-ceiling windows. Probably the best view I've ever had at a hotel. I awoke one morning to see the marine layer blanketing the city and it was truly jaw-dropping. The room is well appointed with plenty of outlets and had a mini fridge which is always much appreciated. The bathroom is modern and very clean - overall a great room experience. The bed was clean and comfy with multiple pillow density options. My Globalist status also provided daily access to the club room for breakfast which was so delicious with plenty of sweet and savory options. It's rare these days for a Regency to have a club room and to have one this nice and with so many amenities was wonderful. One more item to mention about this property - the fitness room is one of the best gyms I've EVER seen at a hotel. There are numerous strength training and cardio options available and fresh towels were being stocked throughout the day. I was able to complete my full-body workout both mornings with the amazing variety of machines and weights available. Again I cannot recommend this property enough if you are in downtown SF - there is easy access to many of the tourist sites as well as the ballpark and arena district.

Solid Hyatt Regency hotel. Great location in SF. You can walk everywhere and most interesting places - Ferry Building, Chinatown etc. are within a mile of easy walk. Room is typical of Hyatt Regency - solid and decent in size but nothing to write home about. Service was good when we checked in. The gentleman who checked us in was great - polite and professional. Room service is efficient and clean.

We had a lovely stay in Hyatt with our family, using the wonderful location to visit the highlights of San Francisco. Great service and quality throughout our stay.

While traveling for business, i was able to stay at a really great hotel with professional staff to cater to your needs. Plenty of local things to see and do and with the cable car within walking distance

It was centrally located and easy to access all the tourist spots by cable car, bus or shared ride. It was quiet and easy to maneuver inside the hotel.

It was a very convenient stay with most attractions very close. The staff were very helpful too and promptly assisted me when I got locked out.

We stayed in July 2026 for a few days while visiting family. Our check in process, valet, food services, and housekeeping experiences were all wonderful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We were happy with our stay and would definitely stay again in the future.

We stayed at Hyatt Regency SOMA for one night to serve as a home base to watch fireworks and get lunch in the city the next day. Room was a good size and thoughtfully laid out. The day bed was comfortable and our teen son slept on it. Convenient location and it was a good deal that included valet parking. Couple of reasons for not 5 stars - (a) Walk in shower had a partial glass panel. After showers the bathmat was wet (b) Elevator situation can be terrible around busy check in/ check out or breakfast times. Wait was over 15min for us and we took the elevator up to find room to go down.

The wifi was really really bad. The staff gave me access to another network, it was bit better, but still lacking. I had to switch to 5G from time to time.

Last two days no wifi. Wifi prior to that not great. "Destination Tax" for services we didn't even use.

The stuffs were not friendly and I can feel kind of discriminated during the conversation. They judged people by their English accent. The front desk was not supportive at all and gave me some very bad guidance including the parking suggestions (They suggested a self-parking garage which charged me even more than the valet parking). Never go back this hotel and won't recommend any of my friends to stay here.

Great hotel for business travel. Stayed 3 nights and was greeted daily by staff. Front desk was especially responsive for my request for extra pillows.

The elevators were not working

The hotel and room were barely okay, but the elevators were terrible. Had to wait 15+ minutes for going up to the room each time, and could not get one for coming down at all - waited 25 minutes, and had 2 elevators stop which were both completely full. Finally decided to walk down 7 floors with heavy bags

The view was beautiful and situated near our destination.

I wish the room prices were lower and the parking fees It was more expensive than Las Vegas valet parking.

We stayed here for SF Pride. Location was half block from the parade. Room was perfect and had great views. Service was friendly and top notch. We will return. Overall, a great experience.

A contemporary hotel in a good location . A couple of reasonable places nearby to eat great breakfasts . Bus stops across the street. Very close to The San Fransisco Museum of modern Art .

The Hotel is located in a central location. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The Service was exceptional starting with the front desk and Housekeeping. I like the fact the room was quiet and far from the elevator.

Great location, close to transport and main commercial area. Plenty of things to do around the property.

Destination fees. The property charges $30 a day on top of the advertised price for things like gym and wifi use. Feel these things should be part of the advertised room price. I cancelled a booking elsewhere thinking the Hyatt was better value, and hadn’t seen the additional fees. For the first night, I was in a room on the 6th floor which was quite noisy from street/traffic noise. Thankfully the staff allowed me to move to the 20th floor for the rest of the stay which was greatly appreciated.

Very nice property and thoughtful staff. Comfortable, clean, and quiet room. Short walk to Oracle Park, and a number of restaurants and stores. Breakfast buffet here is outstanding, and we really enjoyed it both days. Regency Club is open all the time, and has a decent evening offering, and multiple snacks. Would definitely stay here next time we're in San Francisco.

I had a pleasant stay overall and the staff were friendly and professional. The location was convenient, and the room was clean and comfortable. However, I felt that the price was too high compared to the overall experience and amenities provided. While almost everything met expectations, there was nothing particularly exceptional that justified the premium cost. For the price paid, I would have expected more value, such as enhanced services, upgraded amenities, or a more memorable guest experience. Despite this, I appreciated the hospitality and had a comfortable stay.

This is hotel is situated at the heart of downtown San Francisco. Really easy access to many restaurants, pub and popular tourist destination. Most parts of the city is reachable by a 10-15 mins cab ride. Staff at reception were really great. Rooms were very clean with a decent view of the city.

There was nothing specific that we disliked. But we got a different room compared to what we actually booked. We booked a normal room and got a corner one. Not sure if it is Booking's fault or hotel's

Location is great, atmosphere is great too. Staff are very helpful. They also give a 15 dollar voucher for their marketplace, where you could buy pastry, fruit, coffee, etc. My stay didn’t include breakfast, so I paid for the breakfast buffet, which was great too!

Beautiful hotel with location. We walked through Chinatown to little Italy, north beach, an fisherman’s ward. Club level buffet for breakfast was fantastic. Will stay here when visiting again.

this was one of the best hotel experiences i’ve had. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was able to check in hours early ($50 fee) and check out late (complimentary). the hotel was in a great walkable location, clean, and comfortable. I thought it was a nice touch that there are free ice and water refill stations on every floor of the hotel. the market they have in the lobby is very convenient and I enjoyed getting coffee there in the morning. they gave me a $15 credit for the market upon check in which was also very nice to immediately be able to get a snack at no additional cost. the lobby is basically a beautiful lounge and I was able to relax and eat a meal down there after check out, prior to going to the airport. if I am ever back in SFO again, i’ll be definitely be coming back. thank you to the staff!!

The staff were rude and clearly need additional training on how to interact with customers professionally and respectfully. We have been staying at Hyatt properties for the past 14 years and have always appreciated the level of service provided. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever encountered. The lack of courtesy, professionalism, and responsiveness was extremely disappointing and did not reflect the standards we have come to expect from Hyatt. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and appropriate steps are taken to improve the guest experience.

Great Location and good (renovated) facility. The lobby was busy at night. People hang out there for drinks. I would come back to this facility again.

The staff were responsive and courteous throughout my stay. The room was spotless, and the lobby and restaurant areas were consistently clean and well maintained. Each time I returned to the hotel, a valet attendant was readily available to greet me and assist with opening the door, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. I was traveling for a business training and greatly appreciated being able to check in early to drop off my luggage and change before the first day of sessions. The front desk and concierge staff were also very accommodating, allowing me to store my bags after checkout on my departure day. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would gladly return.

Talked to staff to get a higher floor. I was promised but ofcourse they never had the note put in the system.
