The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. AC is pretty silent

Boutique here i think refers only to the lack of services. No one to help with bags on arrival or bring them to the room. Room was dusty on my arrival. No room service. Asked for a wine opener that was supposed to come in 15 mins (!) and never came. Shouldn’t it be in the room maybe? You can hear the neighbors too. The hotel aesthetic is questionable, LED TV screens everywhere in the lobby, total visual pollution besides being completely tasteless. In many ways felt like an expensive motel with questionable taste. It is, quite plainly, the soul of a highway motel dressed in a designer price tag.

The staff was super nice and the valet was very efficient. The design of the lobby was pretty and the coffee at the radiator cafe was great! The bed was comfortable and we had a nice view!

The water pressure was really low, I couldn’t wash my hair. The carpet in the room could need replacing as it looked dirty. We didn’t feel comfortable walking on it without shoes.

L'hôtel est très bien situé, à quelques minutes à pied du centre de SF. La chambre était grande et bien équipée, la literie est très confortable. Nous avons apprécié les attestations de l'hôtel (gourdes que nous pouvons remplir tous les jours à la fontaine à eau, tickets pour le Cable Car). L'hôtel offre 20$ par jour à utiliser dans leur café ou bar, ce qui est très pratique pour le petit déjeuner.

Posizione molto centrale, ti danno un buono da 20$ al giorno da spendere al bar per la colazione, per un drink o nel market interno. Purtroppo al bar già presto avevano finito tutte le opzioni.

Fortunatamente abbiamo consegnato la macchina appena arrivati a San Francisco, altrimenti il parcheggio sarebbe stato più di 90$ al giorno.

OUTSTANDING facility! Easy walk to all the conference centers. Great restaurant and separate coffee shop/baked goods onsite. Hotel rooms are luxe/gorgeous with incredible rooms of the city! Most importantly though, the hotel staff and service was unbelievable. From finding out things to do in the area at check in, or the door man going out of his way to help me get floss(!)! Unfortunately, I had a personal medical emergency while there but Colleen and the security team came to my rescue and called 911 and took care of me until they brought the gurney up to my room and wheeled me out! That’s the kind of service I didn’t know I needed but am unbelievably grateful for. You can trust this crew for literally all your needs!! They’ll take care of you!!

I have never written a review but the stay was so amazing I felt I needed to share. From the second we arrived Jamel (I think that’s how you spell his name?) was friendly with our check-in. He was super accommodating and made my birthday trip extra special. Everytime we saw him from that point forward he made sure to say hello and chat about what’s up next in the itinerary and offer recommendations. The hotel is beautiful but the staff is truly what made our stay. My dad works for Marriott so I have stayed at many Marriott’s in my lifetime but this one takes the cake. I will definitely make a point to stay here again in the future! Thank you Jamel & Clancy staff!

Attractive, large, hip, clean, bright, modern hotel w/ very friendly staff, unique common areas (both the lobby and patio), and quiet rooms. Also had an impressive gym, nice cafe in the lobby, and was an easy walk to everything downtown including the Embarcadero, BART, MUNI, and cable car.

My wife and I are just completing a short trip to The City. For several years, The Clancy has been our Go To hotel. The location is perfect for access to SOMA destinations, and just up the hill from Oracle Park. GO Giants, The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The facilities are well maintained, clean, and have a modern vibe. But, for us, what sets The Clancy apart from other hotels is the incredible staff. They are consistently welcoming, friendly, and take great pride in their job, and The Clancy. This time, I want to provide a special shout out to two incredible staff members who work the bar lounge area. Regina and Luis, are very special individuals. If I owned a hotel I’d want to staff it with Regina and Luis clones. Not only are they clearly good at what they do, they also seem to enjoy it. Regina remembers not only customers names, but what they ordered before. She offers suggestions about menu items, and is efficient and engaging. Luis is very welcoming to customer entering the lounge space, friendly and accommodating. Last night I left my cell phone/ wallet combination on the table when we left after dinner. Not more than 5 minutes later, Luis called our room to inform me that he had found it and would hold onto it until i came down to retrieve it. He literally saved our trip.

The property was beautiful! We loved hanging out on the couches in the bar and watching the soccer game, such a cozy and welcoming environment! We ate at the restaurant, the coffee shop and bar… all were awesome! The hotel room was large and fully equipped!

I was disappointed with the couch, the room I selected had a sectional pictured but the room we received had only an armless couch with cushions that weren’t even the correct size for the couch. I was disappointed because my sons were visiting and I imagined hanging out in the room on the couch. I called the desk when we arrived to ask for a different room and they said they didn’t have anything else we could move to. That was disappointing :(

This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere. The most serious issue was a dangerous safety hazard in my room. There was a sharp metal piece protruding from the bathroom wall near the light switch. When I reached to turn on the light, I severely cut my finger. This wasn’t a minor cut. Part of my fingertip was sliced off because of the exposed metal. No guest should ever be injured simply by turning on a bathroom light. The hotel’s response was extremely disappointing. Aside from offering a room upgrade, they did very little to help. They told me they would provide the phone number and email address for the department handling medical claims, but they never followed through despite promising to do so. To make matters even worse, I checked in a bottle of tequila worth approximately $3,000 with the hotel’s luggage storage. The bottle was stored separately, not inside any luggage. After I left the hotel, I called to arrange pickup, only to be told that it was gone. The bottle disappeared while it was in the hotel’s custody. When I asked who had handled it, the hotel refused to identify the employees who had access to it or explain how such a valuable item could simply disappear. A guest was seriously injured because of an unsafe room, the hotel failed to properly follow up afterward, and an expensive personal belonging disappeared while under the hotel’s care. These are not the standards anyone should expect from a hotel. I cannot recommend staying here.

Love the aesthetic and contemporary colors/art. Great central location.

Could do without the freestanding TV in the lobby. Definitely drops the aesthetic value down. And there’s another tv behind it in the restaurant. Also could use at least an info flyer in the room. Assuming that was to cut back waste but even a quick note of where the closest ice machine was, gym, etc.

Location is great. Near a lot of reputable restaurants - within walking distance.

I didn't like the 'grab' all mentality of the hotel group. Advertising itself as a much cheaper hotel than it is in reality. They tell you what the room costs before telling you what it actuality costs. They do this by 'adding on' all the various taxes related to your stay AFTER they have given you a price for the room. I ended up paying 572.11 euros per night for a room. Then they had the check to charge me 8 dollars for a bottle of water from the room. This behaviour is what sickened me. They (attempt to) sell luxury but have no clue what luxury truly is. When I pay almost 600 euros a night to stay in a hotel room I expect to get the bottled water for free. It's their pettiness that really got to me. Vulgar not elegant that's how I'd describe this hotel.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Not worth the trouble you will have to go through. Not worth any penny to stay at this hotel. Colleen and Kyran are terrible "managers". They need to be fired. I booked this hotel 3 months before my stay. The day I arrived (10:30am) I asked if the room was ready. The hotel front desk clerk said they're still cleaning the room and to check back later. I come back again at 7:30pm and the same representative said "the manager needs to speak with you". After 10 min, the "manager" (Kyran) came and told me that the room I was supposed to stay in was occupied by someone else. They booked me at the Hilton Union Square which was further than the conference I was attending. The only gave me $30 credit to go from The Clancy to the Hilton and back. One way cost $35. Colleen is supposedly Kyran's manager and she's trash. Giggled and smiled when I complained. Worst impression I've gotten of SF. NEVER EVER go to this hotel. I've sent an email following up since Colleen did mention the hotel will take care of my extra uber expense and first breakfast. It has been 5 days. No response. With all the trouble they've caused me, they were originally only going to give me 10k points. They ended up giving me 20k points which isn't even equivalent to 1 night stay, more like barely half a night stay.

We’ve stayed at The Clancy Hotel in San Francisco multiple times, and the service is consistently outstanding. That’s what keeps us coming back. I especially want to give a shout-out to Nelson, the bellman, who always takes such great care of us, and Alex at the Front Desk, who truly goes above and beyond every single time. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail make all the difference. This hotel is top notch — from the service to the overall experience. Highly recommend, and we’ll absolutely be back!

The suite was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was clean and well maintained.

The check in staff lacked real warmth and certainly did not extend a warm welcome. The system of charging "extras" is ridiculous, just add it in to the price and be done with it. Your hidden charges just irritate guests.

I had one staff, who wasn’t nice when we had come payment complications. No hotels even in developing counties charge for wifi any more and they charge $19 daily if you are not a member of Marriott. They also charge $8 per bottle of water in the room (most hotels in the world now have complementary water bottles). Yes it’s SF and the room was ok, but when you charge 500- 700 per day, I expect the service to be at least great if not superb.

Located on second street, closer to Salesforce building, Academy of Arts in this area, market street and about a 10-15 minute walk to the Ferry Building or if you go the other direction, a 5 minute walk to MOMA, Yerba Buena or about a 20 minute walk to Union square. Nice hotel, charges for early check in or earliest is 3:00 pm unless you are a Bonvoy Marriott member on the top tier. Parking is valet. Staff were friendly. Standard rooms are roomy enough with a nice seating area. Doors to the bathroom kept getting stuck. I like the outdoor lobby area.

This hotel is a great value. It is clean and quiet. It is close to lots of food options but not in the craziness of the busy parts of the city. Fewer homeless people in this area. Easy to grab a bike and get anywhere you need to go on about 10 minutes. Rooms seem like they were renovated since covid and so they are very nice.
