Comfortable stay. Good value.

It was all satisfactory for our 2 night stay.

I liked everything.

It wasn't mentioned that there was no pool.

It was in a central location for my journey

I booked a double bed and fret I booked they saint a message saying it was “subject to availability” and then failed to provide it, the room was also grubby ( see photos) and the cleaner knocked on our door at 8:30 to see if anyone was in the room as their cleaning schedule system was down so bang went the planned lay in after a late night driving!

Upon checking into the hotel, even though we registered our rental car's license plate and filled out the necessary forms, the hotel forwarded parking fines to the rental company. Although I successfully contested and had the fines themselves cancelled, I was still required to pay a £400 penalty to the rental company as per the terms of the contract. I ended up paying a penalty due to this unfairness and error on the hotel's part. You risk getting fined if you visit with a rental car.

A staff member asked us to sit outside to eat our McDonald’s before our room was made up. It was 3pm and there was no one else in the bar and we later went back for drinks so I feel this was a bit rude

Took 30mins to check in because there was no staff on reception! Then manager said I'd get a complimentary upgrade, still trying workout what that upgrade was, apparently it was a free KitKat in the mini bar - poor form holiday inn

I liked everything about this hotel. The best experience for me would be their staff at the reception and on the gym and pool desk. 10/10 experience. Amazing facilities, nice location. Wonderful stay!

No one was picking up the phone calls but when I went to reception they helped me so I was happy with the service overall.

The rooms didn’t feel clean The pool room is gross, floors mouldy and black in some areas. The jacuzzi filter was spilling out grime.

Comfortable room with everything needed for a short stay. Free parking. Easy to access hotel from M4 and into the Old Town.

Restaurant is very "barren" in design. OK for breakfast but would not want to eat dinner here as restaurant has a "canteen" feel about it.

2nd floor corrudor has a horrible damp smell, noticed it in January when we stayed. Staff need to be more efficient about clearing trays from room service. They are left on the landing for hours, doesn't look very good when at 4 pm there are empty glasses and dirty plates greeting you on the landing and end of corridor especially with the heat we've recently experienced. Shower on Sunday morning was freezing as clearly everyone in hotel was getting ready at 8:00 am and we were far end of hotel

Stayed here to attend a function near by.desk staff on arrival very friendly and courtious.room was pretty well appointed ,everything that was needed. We shared a twin room and the only real low points were bed position ,a little too close to each other and the shower was extremely poor .food a bit over priced for my liking so we went elsewhere to eat ,other than that it was reasonable enough.excellent parking

The check-in, after what was already a a long day, was made very difficult by the fact that your receptionist unfortunately had a very poor grasp of English. It took ages to check-in, as a result.

Greeting at reception was good and the room was clean and decent enough.

I booked the room as it was advertised with air conditioning but on one of the hottest days of the year, it wasn't working! I arrived fair late in the evening to a stifling uncomfortable room with a desk fan already on, just circulating hot air. Windows only open a couple of inches so it was a poor night's sleep on a fairly comfortable bed. Oh and the batteries in the TV remote were exhausted.. like me. Breakfast was fine but not worth the £14 paid

We stayed just one night on our way back from a holiday in Cornwall, the hotel is very nice quiet and the staff are always friendly and willing to help, we have stayed there a couple of times before and always been happy with our stay. Breakfast was great lots of choice.

Food can sometimes be only Luke warm but they do reheat if you tell them.

Most of the staff couldn't be more helpful. One even asked us how our daughter was the next day because she hadn't been well. Great facilities. Had air con during this horrendous heatwave. Has a lovely Country park in walking distance with a splash park for the kids.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful (particularly Trinity!) Bar and pool area were well maintained. Rooms were clean. Food and drink on offer was decent and reasonably priced.

Rooms and corridors are a bit tired and could do with some updating; air con was hot and miss.

Free to use swimming pool and gym facilities. Toy area in the bar/seating area for those with children. Decent menu and a good breakfast with plenty on offer. The rooms are a little tired but the staff are wonderful. Honestly they made our visit, they were so friendly and welcoming. Trinity in particular went above and beyond to make us all feel welcome and made our stay so much more than we expected. Thank you so much Trinity!

Mattress was a little uncomfortable and room a little tired but generally ok.

What to say about here? No problems with noise as some other reviews have mentioned, but we did request to be right away from the stairs. There’s no doubting it’s a little bit tired in the rooms - there’s no double glazing and the air con is a bit meagre - and could do with some investment from the managing company but the staff are absolutely fantastic. I can’t explain all the ways they went above and beyond to make us welcome and to make the stay a memorable experience for my six year old. The pool and gym were both very clean and well maintained with plenty of availability for my little one to go for a swim each day. The bar/restaurant was a genuinely pleasant place to spend time; clean, spacious and great quality food and drink. Prices were reasonable too. Reception staff were lovely and always happy to help with anything they could. Bar and restaurant staff were friendly and chatty. Special thanks to Trinity who was a genuine pleasure to see each day - her origami animals and friendly personality absolutely made my daughter’s (and our) trip! With its location close to the motorway, we not only wouldn’t hesitate to return but will actively look forward to coming back next time we visit family here!

We stayed here as it was convenient for visiting family nearby. The hotel rooms are a little tired and could do with a makeover. However the breakfast was good, plenty on offer and a decent menu for dinner if you don’t want to go out . There’s a small bar with plenty of seating and toys for families with children, to keep them entertained, again all good. Nice little pool, clean and tidy and a small gym for the more energetic amongst us! What really makes this hotel though is the staff. They are wonderful, so friendly and helpful, they really did make this stay a good one and it is because of them that we’d return. We have to give a special mention to Trinity, she went above and beyond making our stay a happy one. Thank you!

There were some rude staff. The food was low quality and the pool was too acid that it burnt our sons skin badly and despite them knowing about this they didn’t advice to get out of the pool

Staff friendliness and professionalism fantastic. Request real milk further in room and received it. When saw no lift when I was looking further it a staff member came to my aid and carried bag up. Fur room being dated it made up for it with beautiful walk in shower which was lovely, Good parking and no issues using the parking check in console on desk. Very close to hospital which I needed as had appointments over two days and lived out of town.

Hadn’t realised there wasn’t a list and had a disability. Disabled parks but no customer lift which I thought odd. Staff member helped carry bag up. Dated and a bit rough in rooms with decorating and decor.

I can not praise the staff enough. Everyone was externally nice and helpful with a true smile on their face! Extremely happy with the staff! Food was also very nice. Location is very convenient close to the motorway and close to all the tourist attractions.

The hotel may look nice and modern on the pictures however reality is a bit different. The hotel looks like it is about 40 years old and it was neglected for many years and recently renovated but only the bare minimum to get it back on track. Windows everywhere have big gaps - can't imagine to stay there in winter.. they are also single glazed and dirty. All doors, walls and structural posters are very worn. New beds and carpets are in alright but you don't really feel comfortable. The swimming pool area is quite nice however very dirty... Pool, changings, showers, sauna... They are manky.. dirt in all corners - not "daily build up" but weeks neglect.. I have paid around £110 for a bed only but I would rate it for not more as 70-80 tops..

The hotel needs a bit of a spruce up, showing its age. Even though we had booked a room for three adults the facilities in the room were only for two, we had to request more towels, extra cup and glass and extra teabags and milk, only 2 teabags and 4 milk in the room.

Das Gebäude ist von außen schon sehr alt und von innen ebenfalls. Die Farbe der Möbel war vielleicht in den 70ern beliebt. Die Wände hatten Risse. Die Gardinen waren grau. Das Hotel müsste komplett renoviert werden. Der Poolbereich ist ebenfalls sehr alt und renovierungsbedürftig.

Food in restaurant has gone down hill and not the variety and quality of food at breakfast that l had experienced with previous visits. Also the steak dinner was terrible

We had the evening meal and breakfast included in our stay - it was fantastic value for money and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Very friendly staff too which is a bonus.

Sadly it’s a bad review. Hotel was absolutely fine for the class and price paid . However, in the morning there was no hot water in the hotel ! Couldn’t shower probably. Lady on reception dismissed it like I was saying tv wasnt working . Online chat to IHG initially promised 10000 points as a sorry . However that has now been removed!

We had a good stay and everything was okay. It offers very good value for money. The rooms are a bit old and could do with some updating, but for the price you pay, it's absolutely fine. Overall, a good budget-friendly place and we would stay again.

Breakfast selection was good. My daughter loved the giant Nutela pump. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We saw that someones toast got stuck in toaster and two members of staff assisted immediately.

On Saturday the pool was busy, changing rooms could benefit with an extra clean on this day. We went again on Sunday and it was better.

Breakfast, cleanliness

Check in, the staff tried to charge me again. I had already paid via booking.com, the staff member then spent about 20 minutes on the phone trying to sort the booking out because their system was asking for payment, then announced that the room didn't have any working a/c just a fan and it was on the first floor. I had requested a ground floor room, my husband who uses a mobility scooter was due to travel with me, and wouldn't have been able to access the room.

Breakfast but access to everything was immediately withdrawn at 9:30.

The reception staff were bad and extremely poor on the Sunday evening. Next to the entrance to the hotel and within the hotel grounds was a derelict house. The hotel itself was scruffy and tired. The air-conditioning didn't work in my room and the plug in the bathroom sink would release so I had stale horrid water in my sink. The batteries in the TV handset were dead as the handset didn't work.

We stayed two nights while visiting the Cotswolds/Bath area. The rooms were very clean, had good air-con and a very firm yet comfortable bed. Check-in was very easy and we found the staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed using the pool and breakfast/meals were all very good. We'd certainly visit again!

Staff were very welcoming, and those working there were very good while they were there. Tea time and breakfast were well fort out, but you got pint glasses for orange juice, not a shot lol The team was very welcome

The only things found are a bit outdated: Windows and décor. It's a very busy site, but chewing gum was found in the room, and the seats really need an update, unless you like to keep looking like an old 60's school.

More information regarding restaurant location and procedures would help. Power socket not available next to both sides of bed.

All was good

The only good part of our stay was the leisure facilities. The pool and gym were lovely and the two ladies who worked there, including Nancy, gave excellent service and were very friendly and helpful.

We booked well in advance and were not told that the air conditioning had failed, even though the hotel admitted they contacted other guests directly. Guests who booked through Booking.com were not informed, which was unacceptable during a heatwave. The room was extremely hot and even with two fans it felt like a hotbox. We had a terrible night’s sleep. Reception service was poor and hesitant when we asked for help. We spent most of the day at the pool just to stay cool and even went to the cinema that evening for air conditioning. Reception said we could cancel, but this was not realistic after travelling by train and taxi with nowhere else to go at short notice.
