Delta Hotels by Marriott Swindon

The room , hotel and breakfast was lovely. The spa facilities were good but the pool and the pool area could do with upgrading. For the price we paid we were satisfied and the staff were helpful.

Bath towels are not very big, unless you are a size 10-12! Pillows are very soft with no firmer options left in the wardrobe, which I would expect when paying this much for a hotel room. Non- slip in the bath did not go far enough along on the bottom of the bath Duvet cover had some dark stains on the underside of it.

My partner and I struggled to sleep for both nights of our stay as the pillows were so soft they may as well have not been there. A variety of pillows or firmer pillows are needed. The pool was small and oddly shaped. When half the pool was cordoned off for kids swim classes in the morning it meant only one adult could swim lengths at a time due to the shape of the pool. The sauna wasn’t turned on in advance so it wasn’t warm enough for us to use this during our stay. The towels provided by the gym/spa were tiny. The kettle in our room was full of limescale so when we tried to make tea it had white bits floating in it. We prebooked breakfast both days and although there was a lot of variety the quality was very disappointing. Both mornings pastries were burned and dark brown in colour. Eggs were rubbery. Scrambled eggs tasted of nothing, ends of the sausages (not the cheapest) were tough and inedible, and bacon had a really bad aftertaste.

Charge on way in and way out. Was told charge when checking in was a hold even though money was taken from bank. Unnaccepotable to change twice then refund one when departure. Still have no received the refund from so instead of paying £270 have paid £540 ? Hold long unstable my refund? Not acceptable and not explained. Service charge on bill in the bar twice when no staff member took our order at table or checked if everything was ok. Had to ask for cutlery and sauces twice. Change for the car park, just another month grabbing thing to do. Just all not a good experience will not be returning ever. Will not recommend

On arrival, the additional bed was not made up, had to chase twice for this to be made up, the room although clean felt dated, the toilet barely flushed. Breakfast was included which was mainly luke warm at best, we used the pool and sauna, the changing rooms felt grubby and the floors were extremely slimy under foot, I’ve never seen quite such a cloudy pool, the fact you could barely see the bottom when it was only 1.2 meters deep was enough to put me off, my 2 children did use it and perhaps unrelated but both felt unwell the next day, fairly sure the whole area was unhygienic, we did note a member of staff hosing the floor, not quite sure what that was about but wasn’t using any form of chemical, just wandering around with a hosepipe, the sauna smelt like a dirty shed. parking was an additional payment, seems to be common place but I can’t see why they are charging, just another excuse to make more money.

They were unable to extend our stay We were referred to book online, something staff could have sorted out easily checking online the price was times x3 high. Yet most rooms appeared empty. Better simplify things if are you out there for business.

One of the two lifts weren't working and when we came back from our family do the other lift was broken too. We were on the 4th floor and my husband had had a new knee 4 weeks previously so couldn't walk up the stairs. Gavin was so lovely and got us some free drinks while we waited and it wasn't too long before it was fixed

During a busy bank holiday weekend one of the lifts was out of action. This meant guests were queuing for a lift and it was taking ages. Probably wasn’t wise to have maintenance service during a bank holiday busy weekend. These things should be prioritised and steps taken to ensure in working condition before peak travel. Disappointing that pool was full and we had to put our rooms on waitlist. One reason why I chose Marriott as only one with a pool.

Having reviewed your response alongside my Booking.com confirmation, I remain dissatisfied with the proposed resolution and would like my complaint formally escalated. My Booking.com reservation (Confirmation No. 6312418111) clearly confirms the following: Hotel: Delta Hotels by Marriott Swindon Stay: 31 July – 2 August 2026 Guests: 2 adults Duration: 2 nights Room booked: Deluxe Queen Room Total cost: £214 The key point is therefore very straightforward: I booked and paid for a Deluxe Queen Room, Marriott confirmed that reservation, but Marriott was unable to provide that room when my wife and I arrived. Your response itself acknowledges this, stating: “Due to unforeseen operational circumstances, we were unable to provide the Deluxe Queen room that had originally been booked.” This is the fundamental issue with my complaint. I appreciate that operational difficulties can occasionally occur in hotels. However, those difficulties were outside my control as a customer. I arrived at the agreed time with a confirmed reservation and reasonably expected Marriott to provide the accommodation that had been booked and paid for. Instead, we were given a room with two double beds. This materially affected our stay. The double bed was not comfortable for two adults and my wife ultimately slept in the other bed. This was particularly upsetting because, for the first time in approximately 15 years, we were having a short break without our children and had specifically looked forward to spending these two days together. I would also like to address the alternative room mentioned in your response. This was only offered on the second evening of a two-night stay. There is a patch of woodland just behind the hotel, with more places to walk not far away. It's not in the centre of town, but there are plenty of restaurants within a 15-minute walk. Well located for access to the North Wessex Downs (assuming you have transport). Breakfast was very good, staff generally helpful.

My only complaint is the cost of parking - although, to be fair, this was made clear in advance. £7.50 a day seems a lot to pay.

Easy check-in, not too busy, lovely and helpful staff, room clean and received a special Happy Anniversary cake upon entering our room. After reading the reviews about the hotel food, we were a little on the fence but actually what we ordered wasn't so bad.

Steam room was out of use as this was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel.

All the staff we spoke to were really attentive to what we needed. The beds were really comfy. The tea selection in the room was good - we liked the black peach tea. Check in was easy and staff were friendly towards our children.

The heater/air con unit in the room was loud even when it was turned off. There were no towels at the pool so we had to go back to the room to get them from there.

The facilities swimming pool and gym were a plus.

The outdoor space was not adequate with only a small patio area.

I liked the location and amenities

The bathrooms and room were aged and some of the features like toilet and phone didn't work at first.

The room was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable. The modern look of the reception, bar and restaurant are a good feel for a pleasant stay. The location was ideal as a hub for day trips to various places of touristic interest nearby. The car park was ample and felt secure.

The pillows were a bit too soft. I had to use two in order to give my neck some support but were sinking a lot in the middle. Maybe rooms should be equipped with a choice of each. The breakfast was adequate but it could be improved. The hash browns were extremely dry to the point of inedible and so was the yellow melon because it was rock hard, tasteless and non chewable. Also they had no brown bread rolls, just sliced wholemeal for toast. We had 3 breakfasts and every morning was the same.

Staff were extremely friendly and lovely; property was very well maintained and clean; and the facilities were easy to access and perfect for young children.

Tight car park, menu not much vegetarian option and expensive. lousy lifts,one not working and the other painfully slow for the amount of people using it. Room had broken shower. Breakfast was very average for nearly £20 each, luckily didn't have to pay as free with booking. Com. Last night was noisy as had a conference going on and they took over the place.

My toilet wasn't flushing properly and I complained about it, they gave me another room, when I saw half used tissue paper there😔,I knew there was something wrong as well.The shower wasn't working either 😔,I just managed with my hands from the tap in the shower to pour the water on my body.Thank God it was my last day.

Die Lage des Hotels war gut. Von außen hat das Hotel einen guten Eindruck gemacht.

Im Familienzimmer sind beide Betten gefühlt 1.40m breit, was für Erwachsene nicht bequem ist. Die zusätzlichen Möbelstücke in dem Zimmer ermöglichen nicht das Öffnen eines oder gar mehrerer Koffer. Unsere Zimmerfenster waren direkt über der Raucherecke und Busse hielten unten am Eingang ließen sehr lange ihren Motor laufen. Der Poolbereich wirkte sehr ungepflegt.

We waren er vijf dagen en alle dagen was één van de twee liften defect. Trap lag (voor onze kamers) niet handig in het gebouw. Voor ons niet een direct probleem, maar als je slecht ter been bent wel.

We enjoyed the breakfast. A nice selection. The pool was lovely the temperature was just right. We also enjoyed the sauna and steam room.

The air conditioning unit was very loud. We couldn't turn it of. We had one evening meal in the restaurant we waited for someone to come and give us our menu. Although there were staff serving tables around us they didn't come I ordered seabass which was over cooked and crispy. I did tell our waiter when they collected our plates he said he would pass it on to the kitchen. The restaurant wasn't busy that evening

VERY ANNOYED that the extra £30 was charged for a dog for a nights stay … for cleaning. This is clearly a scam and it was not clear on the booking. Had I know then I would not have booked.

We booked a dog friendly room, and the stuff went above and beyond expectations. Really loved the small touches with a dog bed, a small toy, dog treats, and small bowls for eating and drinking. The room and facilities were spotless too. Really nice welcome and a pleasant stay.

Excellent staff, quick to respond, helpful. Gym, Tennis Court, Pool were amazing. Nice breakfast which was part of the booking. Air conditioning was great and much needed in the hot spell going on. Parking was easy and ample and not very expensive. Just £7.5 a day. Hotels location is good too

We had a leak in the toilet and water was leaking on the carpet. We asked them to get it checked but little attention was given. Asked them to cover it with a mat but rather they put a towel which itself kept getting wet

I accompanied my parents to check them into the hotel and was displeased to discover that the computers were not working & room key was not obtainable. However, the lady at the desk (Venita I think), was especially helpful & came up to open the door for my parents & even gave them a free tea/coffee voucher which delighted them. The room too was so lovely.

It was a lovely experience, felt very welcomed and at home. Thought it was very good value for money and service was great, especially from Nic. Would stay here again👍

The hotel room was great. Air conditioning was very responsive so the hot weather did not interrupt our sleep! Breakfast was varied with a good selection available.

I would have preferred a much wider choice of evening meal options. The weather was hot and smaller size meals and more salads would be good. The additional cost of a service charge for the evening meal was added to the bill automatically.

Great location, a lot of the attractions in Swindon accessible within 15minutes of travel. Supermarket and Cinema close by. The scenic Croft Woods just in the back yard - excellent relaxing walking path. Mr Swapnil at the reception made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - excellent hospitality from all the staff we’ve met. Rooms are spacious and clean, but the site needs more decorations and colour (especially as the hotel is of Marriott). The view out of the room could’ve been improved as we could see a tennis courts space worth of Flat grey roofing! This could’ve been decorated a bit (even a bit of astro-turfing) to improve the view significantly. Excellent breakfast buffet included with Genius, high quality, tasty food, with a food variety (even provided me with gluten free bread). One of the best value for money hotels in Swindon as all the facilities you need are included - tennis court, gym, swimming pool with an added bonus of the gorgeous Croft Woods just on the back yard.

Pool had to many children In which made it difficult to swim. Pillows extremely uncomfortable. Coundnt get a breakfast item i requested. Was abit of a wait for food in a very quite restaurant. There was only a small amount of tea and coffee facilities for four guests, we ran out of toilet roll and reception woundnt answer for room service. Ended up being charged twice for parking. Overall wasnt an enjoyable stay but the company I was with made it enjoyable.

Today we used the leisure centre and was looked after by the lovely lady called Pankti, who always has a wonderful smile and jolly personality.

We are looked after by the staff at the coffee shop each morning after swimming. Melita, Nibela and more. Lovely atmosphere. Thank you.

Was welcomed by the lovely Venita who was the ideal conversationalist whilst booking in to the hotel. Unfortunately the shower didn’t stay at the same temperature and jumped from scolding to cold without any input change. Also the toilet required 20 flushes to work. Some things to fix!

My family and I recently stopped by the Delta Marriott Hotel to spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying coffees and some light snacks at the bar. We noticed this receptionist called Vanida. ​She was handling parking inquiries for us with the utmost kindness, and despite the hotel being busy with a long queue of guests waiting to check in, she remained remarkably sweet, calm, and professional throughout. It was truly impressive to watch how effortlessly and graciously she managed a high-pressure situation while keeping every single guest smiling. ​Outstanding customer service like this really stands out and makes a lasting impression. We will definitely be back, both for the lovely food and drinks and for the wonderful hospitality of the bar staff too.

I stay at the Delta Hotel often and have always had a great experience. The staff is so kind. In particular I had a great experience with Verutia and Sydelle. They are very accommodating and customer service is the best! I highly recommend.

I attended the leisure for the first time and purchased a guest pass, i was greeted by a lovely young lady called Kira. She was friendly, welcoming and happy to help. She made me feel comfortable and provided excellent customer service. She’s a real credit to the team, and her positive attitude made my visit enjoyable. Would definitely return.

Very clean, efficient service, pleasant stay

On entering the club, I approached leisure reception and spoke to Skye who showed me great empathy and whilst I was at reception, a young lady came in for an induction with a staff member who for unforeseen circumstances was not here where upon the manager Kira rose from her seat in the office and said no problem I can do that induction for you now. Where I was so impressed with the high standard of customer service, the standard of cleanliness and hygiene is amazing and the place is always spotless. It is great to be a part of the club.
