Good location Great bed
Nothing i didn't really dislike
Everything was good about this hotel! Ambience, location, food and staff! 10/10 👍
reserve con booking y ponía que incluía impuestos y gastos y al llegar me hicieron pagar 300 dólares más
Stayed for 3 nights. Staff were helpful and pleasant to deal with bed was comfortable but room was fairly basic but had what you needed. Location was ok.
the water pressure
The Hotel had a 24 hour manned reception and the staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was a generous size and had a large king bed that was very comfy. Bathroom was a good size. It was a great location - only 1/2 block from Union Square where pretty much gives you access to anything you want to do - cable car, Macy's, Hop on Hop off bus. It felt safe at night to walk around the area. Locally, we can recommend Lori's Diner for breakfast and Johnny Foley's Irish House for dinner.
The floorboards were squeaky in the rooms.
there wasn’t a proper shower, and you risk to flood the bathroom when you take a shower
It was great. We parked down the street they do having their own parking but it was out of our budget honestly. It was nice there’s restaurants nearby and everything is walkable. I will stay here again when i come back to sf.
I did pay for king suite i was expecting the bathroom to be a bit bigger honestly, wish windows opened more or at least be able to open more than 1 window.
I have stayed here four times now and have had a flawless experience every time. I come for work, the location is perfect. The rooms are chic and comfortable and I just adore staying here!
Hotel G is our go to hotel when visiting San Francisco. Perfect location near shopping, food and attractions. The staff are always friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable. Parking offered through the hotel next to Hotel G. We will continue to stay at Hotel G when we visit San Francisco.
We love staying there. The rooms are big and comfortable and we love the "industrial" style/concrete floors, etc.
Not really a lobby but we dont hang out in theblobby anyway. Some rooms have tiny bathrooms.
All
.
Not much
Not a 4 star hotel. The room was not as nice and big as on the picture, one elevator was not functioning, facilities looked old overall, the hotel needs a refresh, noise from the street…
Location was great!! Enjoyed that it was walkable to so many restaurants and bars.
It wasn’t as photos described. Lobby floors were old and it was dark. Room was smaller than advertised and floors were so creaky. Nothing looked updated except for the bathroom. Hallways and elevator were old, and the elevator was so slow.
Location is very good!
N/a
The property is placed in a great location! A block away from union square.
The staff treated us amazing very helpful, especially with questions!
Irene at front desk was great, friendly, and accommodated us with early check-in. Location is convenient. Hotel itself is ok if you are not planning to spend a lot of time. AC was so loud that you can have trouble falling asleep.
Rooms are modern, great location to Union Square. Be careful with the doorman - he’s invasive and instead of asking appropriate questions he escalates based on what he thinks is going on in your room.
Good location just off Union Square, a short walk to the main cable car stop.
A bit old and tired, only one elevator working, which was insufficient for the size of the hotel
Konum
Oda zemini ahşap ve yüyürken ses yapıyor
I cannot recommend this hotel for cooler weather. The room was freezing because of a drafty, slat-style window in the bathroom and an ineffective heater that only blew lukewarm air. I barely slept due to the cold, and the front desk had no space heaters to offer. A very uncomfortable experience.
I really loved my room. It was spacious and well designed.
The breakfast was a disgrace! Honestly, I was shocked at how bad it was. It should be free for what is on offer and I'd then say it was a great little extra but it's no way worth paying for.
Location, staff and room size
Old room Busy single elevator, the other one was out of service
The rooms were quiet and very clean. The shower was nice, and the room was overall very comfortably cozy. Charming and accommodating.
That the restroom fan, was either very quiet or non functional. Either way the water temperature was not for steam or lobster levels.
This is a great hotel located close to major San Francisco attractions. The staff is very friendly and helpful with information about the city and hotel services. Irene, Tyler and Nhoro went above and beyond to provide supplies, breakfast vouchers, luggage storage and a smooth check in and check out. The hotel is well maintained, safe for travelers, has a 24 hour gym and a hotel lounge. There is an Italian restaurant on the ground floor. The rooms have refrigerators and an in room espresso machine. Our family with grown sons went for leisure and it was a great vacation. I highly recommend this hotel and have stayed here twice. It is a reasonable price and still extremely nice.
Welcoming hotel, excellent and strategic location. Irene at the reception was very kind and gave us lots of useful information
Centrally located. Easy to get to all we wanted to see from the hotel
The site said nothing about renovations. Only one working elevator, and the lighting in the bathroom is very dim. Left an item of jewelry behind but they claim it was not found, I even told them where it fell… it was early in the morning when I heard it but it didn’t register until I was in another state flying home
מיקום מעולה, חדר נוח מאוד
החנייה עלתה 57 דולר ליום
Great boutique hotel in the heart of Union Square. Easy parking next door at Westin. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds. Great self serve breakfast. Noise issue with AC unit needs to be addressed.
The location was perfect for attending an event at August Hall. I also liked the fact that you needed a key to enter the hotel after a certain time and to access floors via the elevators.
La ubicación
Andaba un solo ascensor, en la habitación no hay lugar de guardado. Las almohadas eran altas y regidas.
Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable Nice fixtures, bathroom floor tile, plush headboard Streaming tv
Cooling/heat system is old, outdated, and SUPER loud (although it did help eliminate the street noise). No attempt to modernize or just improve general room/building conditions (old wood trim painted over hastily, old 70’s looking windows covered in city grime, etc. Elevator was SLOW and covered completely in a weird vinyl paper and although it had signs say it was undergoing refurbishment, the signs seemed like they had been there a long time. Lobby and hallways were dark and dreary.
Location.
Noisy floors, no water in room. Windows don’t keep noise out from outside leading to sleep issues. Reception staff average.
Location and ok bar. Clean.
Tired hotel and service not the best.
Very clean/minimal setup. Not too far from the train station/buses. Noise level not too loud at night/weekends. Had a good first experience, very helpful worker Irene helped/upgraded me up a room since no queen sized rooms were available. A lot of solid restaurant choices recommended by the hotel as well!
Amazing stay! Only 10mins from Powell Bart stop, easy to get train to/from airport for $11 each way. Staff were lovely and friendly, was given a free upgrade which was a lovely surprise after an 11 hour flight! Room was beyond clean, comfy and stylish aesthetic so always looked forward to coming back at the end of the day. Great location, hop on/off bus is just on the corner and other public transport to get around. Would definitely recommend!
La proximité immédiate avec Union Square.
Pas de petit-déjeuner sur place le weekend.
Location and ease of check-in and check-out . Nice blackout window shades and late check-out time ( 12pm)
Small lobby, but since there were no lines of people, it was only a minor issue.
I stayed for 4 nights and the room was spacious, well maintained and stylish. The little downside is a concrete floor in the whole room, but the bathroom, but it was covered with a thin rug aroung the bed. Irene at the reception was a wonderful helper, very nice, welcoming and helpful. I wish every hotel has staff members at least half as great as her!
Hotel G is conveniently located very close to Union Square. Very accessible to transportation and has a lot of options for places to eat in the area. Also very close to stores for shopping. The room was clean tho a bit dark in color and vibe but cozy. Comfy bed and pillows. Well sized bathroom. At the time of our stay, only one elevator was working so at times it took a while to get on the lift. Value was pretty good for the room you get and the location. Service was great. Irene, the front desk lady, was very accommodating and friendly. She made sure our stay was comfortable and we had everything we needed and gave us great recommendations to visit around the city.
Great location - looks like it's old and needs a face lift but that is just a poutine. The bed was amazing and the shower was awesome. If your a minimalist this is your spot
The location is fantastic for being central and near union square. The staff were very attentive and helpful.
We could hear some noise from above us.
The room was very clean. The staff were super accommodating and very nice. Highly recommend!
Great location, very clean
Not much area to relax in and read a book
From the moment we arrived at Hotel G we were met with exceptional service at check in by Tyler. He was super friendly, polite and full of information for us as far as local restaurants, etc. as well as anything we asked him. Check in was easy, super fast and efficient. Cannot say enough great things about his service at Hotel G!
Great location, service, and room. we had very good time here, and manager was nice and kind to help us check in
Irene at the front desk provided excellent service. The room was very comfortable and cozy.
Apesar da boa localização, entorno à noite na é agradável.
A recepção é crítica. Se for de carro, na há valet e estacionamento fica em outro hotel al lado. Hotel necessita urgentemente de modernização.
Location
It’s so old
Hotel was perfectly located to shopping and very good restaurants. Overall room was too small, however, I don't think hotels in Union Square area offer much space for value. I didn't like bathroom sink, prefer a shower stall over tub, room felt too confined. Furniture was too outdated giving a drabby vibe. I felt the staff were great/pleasant.
Great central position. Spacious room.
Old style bathroom
The proximity to Union Square, a great base for exploring
Nothing not to like
Love the staff
The staff
Great location and room decor & amenities, loved having an onsite restaurant that was quite good. Bed was very comfortable, and we very much appreciated the robes, slippers and microwave. This was hands down the cleanest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. There wasn’t a speck of dust anywhere, so we were really wowed by that. Taking a bath in the wonderful tub was heavenly, too.
We could really hear the sirens and street noise through the windows, but we managed to sleep fine anyway. A friendly ghost experience in this historical property might have been fun.
Close proximity to Union Square shops and Trolley stops/public transportation
Small rooms, floors were creaky and bathrooms were not updated
We had the opportunity to be taken care of by Irene in the Front Desk. She made us feel we were the most important people in the world. Always smiling and assuring us a great stay, which we had. Thanks Irene! Love the closeness to Union Square and great restaurants.
A very comfortable room, clean and spacious. room darkening shades were efficient and having a tv and desk to work on were great. the room also had a comfortable sofa, espresso machine and refrigerator .
I had to stay here for a work trip but wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a nice comfortable stay. It feels very cold and older but some modern touches. No water is provided other than a water machine on the 2nd floor. Some rooms are interior facing and feel like a jail cell (I had to move rooms). Every room is very different so you aren't sure what you're going to get. The AC is a window unit so if you're on a lower floor it's very loud and you can hear the street bc the window is not fully secure. I would give this a 3 star hotel experience nad personally would not return.
The location was great and easy access to the financial district. It’s nice to stay in boutique hotels. The rooms were decorated in a chic manner. The staff were incredible- especially Irene at the front desk- she took great care of me! Thank you and I’ll be back!
Everything about it
The parking fee seemed unreasonable. But it is SF
I liked that it was near the Cheesecake Factory since I don't get to eat there very often. Walking around the neighborhood in the evening didn't feel very safe. It was nice being able to park right next door at the Westin Hotel and not having to walk very far to get the car.
I stayed 4 nights at Hotel G during a yearly event at Moscone convention center, along with several colleagues. This has been my best hotel experience so far in San Francisco. We noted that the rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, and the location more than adequate to be walking distance to Moscone and reasonably safe compared to nearby streets, though you should always pay attention. It was easy to find good restaurants nearby for breakfast and dinner. Every interaction with the Staff was pleasant, but they may sometimes be limited by available hotel equipment or policies. My colleagues appreciated their experience and would gladly stay at Hotel G again.
Location
Reception staff is a bit slow and unbothered 🥲
Quiet, locations
Nothing
Great location! Block away from union square.
Dislike elevator that you have to use your room key. When checking in my hands a full I’ve tucked away the key only to find out it’s needed to get elevator to move. I understand it’s for the security of staff and guests but I just wish there was another way. Honestly there is nothing I didn’t like about the property. Except elevator.
Good location
doesn’t have to-go paper coffee cups, walls are rather thin and can hear people talking outside room
My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel G for the first time for a wedding weekend, and we had a great experience. The location is excellent, within walking distance to a lot of places, with a really good diner right across the street. It’s also close to many stores and BART, which made getting around easy. I felt very safe during our stay, and it wasn’t too loud at all. I especially want to give a shout out to Irene at the front desk. She helped us tremendously. We initially asked if we could leave our bags at the front, but she went above and beyond by looking for an available room so we could check in early. She clearly knows the hotel inside and out when she was explaining to us all the amenties and everything about the hotel. When we noticed our room had been missed for cleaning one day and mentioned it to her, everything was taken care of by the time we returned. Irene was the best!! The room itself was beautiful! spacious and newly renovated. They provide tea and coffee pods, as well as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion, which was really convenient. There’s also a small gym on the mezzanine floor that was actually pretty nice and also convenient. They provide towels, and there’s a water filter on the same floor, so I’d recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. All of the staff were friendly and genuinely tried to accommodate our needs (and i'm sure everyone else’s).
Location was the best for the money spent. Staff was very friendly, Francisco was helpful, and Claudia helped to make sure my birthday was memorable.
The location is very good, the shops and places to eat are very close by, and the staff are very friendly.
We celebrated our anniversary here and had an incredible time. The staff was warm and welcoming, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We will be back!
Irene behind the front desk is the best!! Super friendly and professional. Great location, clean, and would definitely go back again.
Very good hotel—clean, quiet, and with a strong, refreshing shower. The best part is its excellent location, which makes visiting nearby attractions very convenient. I would also like to thank Irene for providing very useful information and helpful tips on how to enjoy this beautiful city.
Our sixth time here, always a perfect place to stay in SF
The blankets could be heavier it was not warm enough without the heater on which isn’t the quietest
Nice and clean. The service from the staff was wonderful.
No complaints.
It's always easier to plan a trip in reverse- like we should have stayed there or eaten there or whatever- but I would stay in this hotel over and over again. The location is ideal for getting around the city. We were able to get everywhere we wanted to go using our feet and cable car. So much fun! Room is clean and dark for sleeping and comfortable. We will stay here again on our next visit to SF.
Irene was the best front desk attendant. I appreciated her immensely. Very kind. The location was pretty good. Cozy bed. Would stay again.
The staff was exceptional. They were always professional and friendly when I encountered them. The location is great - a good walkable neighborhood with many places to eat and explore. It's close enough to Union Square without feeling the crowd from it. The hotel and rooms are older and smaller, but really well designed and the amenities and comfort level were great. I don't know that I've had a more comfortable bed when away from home. I loved the complimentary coffee and tea available - even more available on request.
Only two complaints, and there wasn't much that could be done about it. One was the lack of bathroom counter space. The second was the lack of any view from our room. It was right into the side of another building. But it's nothing to deter me from staying here again.
Lovely big room (we had a "Greatest King" room) The staff respected our privacy. They were there when we needed them, and otherwise left us alone, which we liked. The location is good.
I did not stay at the hotel but the EXTREMELY helpful staff Claudia and Irene let me know my luggage was mistakenly delivered from AirFrance and waiting for me. My luggage had priceless and irreplaceable pictures from 1958 when my dad visited Paris. I cannot thank them enough for helping me get my treasures back. One day I will stay at the hotel. You won’t be disappointed by their kindness. Thanks again ♥️ Suzanne Green Fremont, Ca
Very cute, clean, spacious rooms with the exception of a very small bathroom. Entrance was a bit worn which worried me, but the rooms were great
The entrance looked a bit worn, but the rooms were a decent size, very clean, and good location and had AC.
The bathroom was very small but good water pressure.
False advertisement of rooms, I paid a good price of the room but it does not meet our expectations like the photos on their website, the room is so old and rusty and the lighting were dark! They don't vacuum the floors! We had to stay there for 6 days!
Rooms could be more dated. Even the elevator
Pros: friendly staff, all of them were helpful, shiutout to Ms. Irene for recommomendations of restos. They had free water and ice on the 2nd floor. :) Cons: pictures of the rooms are not true. Quite old, like really old, we stayed on the 3rd floor, elevator seems like it will drop any time soon because of how old it is. Rooms are dark. They don't vacuum the whole time you're there. Also, we couldn't even use the coffee machine since the cables were stuck together at the back of the desk. Sketchy neighborhood since it's near Tenderloin.
