Very comfortable and clean. Great location with the restaurant next door, a supermarket and fast food outlet across the road.

Room was clean and the staff were pleasant.

The rooms were in a separate building from the bar /reception. This wasn't clear on booking. Very basic for price paid. Had to walk across if you needed anything, which got annoying after a few trips - there was a phone in the hall but it didn't work. Breakfast was awful - poor quality and expensive. Tea, coffee, juice etc was extra. Much better value to go to McDonalds across the road.

omlette was burnt, portions were small, staff were friendly [only positive] as a result in staying for 10 nights only had 2 breakfasts

The dinner was good, big menu with plenty choice.

Loved paying nearly£200 a night for this luxury and £6.74 for a pint!! £4.00 in a local pub. I drank and dined elsewhere after the first night.If I had not payed in advance I would have gone and found somewhere else.

Air conditioner did not function. Extractor fan in bathroom did not function, nor did it in a replacement room which I eventually got after five days. No illumination for the bathroom mirror in either room. All the above are due to lack of maintenance and a penny pinching by management; in my opinion .These above items had required attention before I arrived!

Unfortunately not a lot of good things to say about this hotel.

Extremely overpriced for the standard of hotel. We paid £175 for one night in a double room, excluding breakfast, purely because it was the only nearby option for a wedding. The room was very basic and dated, and unfortunately the experience got worse from there. We paid an additional £20 for early check-in, which had been arranged in advance so we could get ready before the wedding. We were extremely tight for time, yet when we arrived there was no note on the booking to indicate that the room had been arranged for early check-in, and there was no sense of urgency from the staff. We were eventually given access to a room that hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guests. We had to change in the room and use a bathroom that still had the previous guests’ towels strewn around it. The cleaning staff were actually very apologetic and helpful, despite the situation clearly not being their fault. For £195 before breakfast, I would expect a significantly better standard and level of service. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Room key cards worked intermittently causing issues for family members; only one choice of coffee available at breakfast - machine broken apparently; no orange or other fruit juice available free as you would expect for breakfast for a big chain like Marston's, if we wanted some would have to pay extra - ridiculous; over-charged for early check-ins and still awaiting refund

The Breakfast

The staffs attitude due to a problem with the reservation by Booking . Com Breakfast had been included with the reservation, but the Staff were adamant that it hadn’t and would have to be paid at an additional cost Room was what prepared as per booking. Booked a Twin Room with single beds, but was given a room with 1no. Double bed WiFi was impossible to connect too We were made to feel very uncomfortable and only after complaining for over an hour and showing proof of booking schedule were our problems resolved!! We will not be using this hotel again, nor would we recommend it too anyone who would not be able to stand their ground to get what they paid for

When I arrived I had to check in at the reception desk near the bar. There was a pub quiz going on and there was a loud speaker blaring the music quiz about 1m from my hear. It was nearer to me than the receptionist. She had to leave her seat and and speak directly into my ear. In the room the tv had section of screen that did not work. The remote control would not switch off the TV. The room was seriously overpriced.

The room and bathroom were really dirty and rundown. Walls and doors had dirty finger and hand marks in multiple spots. Carpet was wet in a few spots. There was a lot of mold in the bathroom. The room was also very dusty and clearly was not cleaned deeply for a very long time.

Er valt niet veel over te zeggen. Het is door ons gebruikt als tussenstop en het ziet er wel zo'n plek uit ook.

The location was perfect for our trip

As it was the Scottish golf open, all accommodation prices in the area were vastly higher than usual

The advertising picture is misleading. The actual rooms are in a very bland block overlooking a parking lot. The room had no cupboards nor sufficient space for suitcases. Not recommended for anything other than a one night stopover. We left early.

Friendly staff, we encountered some problems with our room like the tv remote not working and hotel room door not locking (both battery issues) however once aware, staff fixed the problem right away. Hotel is in a great location with walkable, local amenities and free parking.

Convenient location for us as close to the A1. The staff were able to provide an iron and ironboard which were very useful as we were attending a wedding. On Sunday a member of staff visited a supermarket to purchase yoghurt as none was available for breakfast.

The quality of the breakfast was good but it took ages to cook. On Saturday we requested more tea but it did not arrive.

I had requested Oat milk prior to arrival and at breakfast was told they had run out and had no other alternative milk to offer me. So I had no tea or cereal for my breakfast,!

We stayed at The Pine Marten Hotel for 2 nights as we had a wedding to attend locally. The hotel was in a great location, right next to Asda and McDonald’s. We had dinner at the Restaurant which was lovely. Check in and out was very easy and everything was well sign posted.

More electrical outlets would have been preferred. Heating not very efficient - but at what now appears to be national hotel standard. Bathroom was "Wet Room" - would have been better if shower curtains met floor to contain water better, rather than wet whole floor of bathroom.

Clean room, fabulous shower!! Comfortable bed, good air-conditioning. Excellent breakfast that set you up for the day. Friendly and professional staff. All of them.

Accommodation was.clean. okay for a night. Basic, but comfortable bed. Happy with security as needed touch pad twice to get through doors to access bedrooms. Staff friendly.

Check in is actually in hotel. So we needed an iron, so we had to go to the hotel to get it brought over to the room. Bfast misleading pricing. One family member went there first. More expensive than the £10.75 for Scottish bfast. As it reads as if included, but juice coffee is only included if you also purchase the continental. Its written on the otherside of the menu this info. They paid over £30. So rest of the family went to the garden centre/asda for bfast. Shower pressure is not the greatest.

Hard to fault

The staff where lovely and really helpful and cheerful. The dinner was fine-in the nicest way possible you know what you get with a Marstons its the same everywhere. It was nearby to McDonalds and shops so there where other options for food and things. The rom was clean enough and a bath is always wecome with a young child.

Being a vegetarian there wasn't a great deal of options on the menu for me and the room was a little tired and some of the silicone could use replacement but other than that good comfy stay with loads of parking.

Comfy beds, restaurant nextdoor, easy car parking, reasonable price. It also had an Asda opposite so I could grab the food for our next stop.

It wasn’t obvious that I had to pick up the keys from the restaurant. It really wasn’t a biggy, it became quite obvious very quickly, they had probably sent me a message but I hadn’t spotted it, I’m useless at picking those up.

Breakfast poached eggs on second night were not runny , but that's my preference I suppose . Could have offered yogurt with fruits . Very heavy cereal and bread options. Will say that the service was excellent !!!
