Getting a bit tired and in need of some work

The location & views were gorgeous, Dunbar is a lovely town, lots of nice coffee & art shops.

We booked a room with hot tub but were really unimpressed! There were no robes provided, no heated towel rail, radiator or towel hooks in bathroom so unable to dry wet swimwear & towels. There was no fridge in our room & after bookung we were advised that there would be no evening meal on night 1 due to staff shortages. We were also not made aware that there was ongping construction works happening during our stay & were disturbed by loud drilling adjacent to our room first thing on both mornings. The cream head board of the bed was noricebly stained, very off putting. There was no phone in the room to call reception so we had to call from our mobile on their main number. The bathroom decor updates had not been completed, the bottom of the bath panel had not been finished & was rough, and other parts were unfinished. The shower drain needed a thorough clean. All in all, disappointing!

The location is great, ideally located for the town centre with beautiful views overlooking the sea. We had a sea view room which was very comfortable and ideal for a weekend stay. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Wir waren sechs Nächte im Hotel Bayswell Park Hotel und hatten ein Doppel- und ein Einzelzimmer gebucht. Zirka eine Woche vor Ankunft, bat ich um Berücksichtigung, dass wir beide Zimmer auf einer Ebene haben können, da eine mitreisende Person aufgrund einer Behinderung Unterstützung benötige. Dies wurde rasch zugesagt. Die Bezahlung der Zimmer war im Voraus notwendig. Nach Ankunft mussten wir jedoch feststellen, dass beide Zimmer auf unterschiedlichen Etagen eingeplant wurden. Ich bat vor Ort um Prüfung, ob es nicht doch eine Möglichkeit gäbe auf einer Etage untergebracht zu werden, so wie angekündigt. Ohne viel Elan wurde dann geprüft und eine Möglichkeit zur Unterbringung auf einer Ebene, jedoch erst am darauffolgenden Tag ermöglicht. Dies machte dann einen Umzug nach einer Nacht notwendig. Als Begründung wurde angeführt, dass die am gleichen Tag vor uns angereisten Gäste das Zimmer belegen würden und wir dann ab dem folgenden Tag dieses Zimmer haben könnten. Dies verwunderte mich, da ich ja vorher schriftlich um Prüfung bat, die offensichtlich nicht erfolgt ist. Wenn wir nur eine Stunde früher angereist wären, wäre unser Wunsch direkt vom ersten Tag an erfüllt worden. Aus persönlichen Gründen haben wir überlegt, ob wir unseren Aufenthalt um einen Tag verkürzen. Dies habe ich gleich am Morgen des zweiten Tages mit der Rezeption besprochen. Mir wurde gesagt, dass die Hotelpolitik keinerlei Erstattung von bereits geleisteten Zahlungen vornehmen würde. Wir könnten gerne früher abreisen, aber der Gesamtpreis unseres Aufenthalts würde sich dadurch nicht verändern. Ich wandte mich dann an booking.com und schilderte meinen Wunsch nach früherer Abreise. Der sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter von booking.com nahm dann Kontakt mit dem Hotel auf, um ggf. doch eine Kompensation für einen Tag zu erreichen. Immerhin blieb noch genug Zeit, die Zimmer nochmals anzubieten, so dass kein Leerstand vorliegen würde. Auch zur Verwunderung von bookin.

Bed was comfortable, staff were helpful, breakfast was good and the position was great.

No usb ports, shower was a bit confusing.

The hotel’s location is fantastic, overlooking the entrance to the Firth of Forth and our room had a sea view which was next level. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was outstanding. Breakfast was brilliant too. All of the staff were so accommodating and friendly.

The wifi didnt work in our room, a small gripe as we barely used it. The room got quite hot during the night and there are no windows. The only way to cool it down is to leave the sliding door open to outdoor

Perfect location, overlooking the sea. Just a few minutes walk from the town centre. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very good.

No lift, we did however get assistance with our luggage.

Everything was perfect. A beautiful building in a quiet position, with seaview and right at the long esplanade. The room nicely furnished and comfortable. Very friendly and competent staff, and always available. Breakfast and dinner carefully prepared and very tasty. All in all, a very sympathetic hotel which I can warmly recommend.

Tolle Lage mit schöner Aussicht. Direkt am Meer und zur Einkaufsstraße ist es auch nicht weit. Alle sind sehr freundlich und das Frühstück hervorragend. Tolle Dusche im scheinbar renovierten Bädern. Das Bett war sehr gemütlich. Trotz der in die Jahre gekommenen Zimmer haben wir uns wohl gefühlt.

Die Zimmer waren grundsätzlich sauber aber trotzdem ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Extrem viele Gebrauchsspuren und Flecken auf dem Sessel. Der Fensterrahmen war kaputt, die Fenster zum Meer hin sind neu, die Fenster zum Land sehr alt.

All meals we tried where very good. All staff where lovely smiley, always looked smart and greeted you with a warm welcome.The view from the dining area was stunning .

It was maybe just our room but it was rather noisy probably from the fans oveer cookers, ( not sure) as we later found out we where above the kitchen. Could of done with another or double wardrobe in the room, but we managed with the facilities that where there

The location is it's USP

Tired decor, requires new carpets, wallpaper and re-painting. There isn't a lift so you have to bounce prams up and down stairs and with a corner on the stairs, it's difficult, no baby change anywhere, I did ask staff, they said no. I paid for a bigger room but was given a standard double without any explanation.

Amazing stunning Seaview, hotel is on cliff so excellent view of bass rock and sea. Very friendly helpful staff, great breakfast with good cooked breakfast and cold options. Excellent location. Big room with bay window. Old hotel but comfortable. Jacuzzi bath. Nice decor

No storage for clothes. A wee bit shabby in places but nothing worth complaining about. Room needed a better thorough dusting. Easy fixed.

Great views and the suite with the hot tube was a added extra bonus. Comfortable bed and massive bathroom.

The only issue we had was poor WiFi signal and kept cutting out when we needed it. Just could do with a few wifi boosters.

Excellent location and sea views. Excellent dinner and full Scottish breakfast. Generous amount of drinks with kettle.

My wife said afterwards her breakfast egg wasn't hot enough but otherwise loved the food.

The stunning view and nicely decorated room

Tolle Lage direkt am Rande der Klippen und nur 7 bis 8 Minuten vom Hauptplatz entfernt. Ausgezeichnetes Frühstück inkl. full Scottish breakfast und zusätzlich kaltes Buffet. Herzlichen Dank an das Personal für die hervorragende Betreuung.

Das Zimmer hätte noch ein paar zusätzliche Wandhaken für Regenjacken, etc. vertragen.

The location is breath-taking. The room was great value for money, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay (travelling with our 5 yr old)

Everything! The view was GORGEOUS!! The staff were wonderful and kind! Breakfast had a good selection, the haggis bites were amazing, and the cinnamon apple crumble was INCREDIBLE! We would have stayed the rest of our trip if they had availability! It was a dream to wake up to such a beautiful view! It honestly ruined the rest of our bookings because nothing could compare to it!

Het onderhoud is niet helemaal up to date, het schilderwerk en tapijt zijn aan een opknapbeurt toe. Het was een dik, synthetisch dekbed en veel te warm om onder te slapen.

The location was fantastic

The interior of the property is tired and not in keeping with such a beautiful building. Some of the furniture and decoration does feel cheap.

The hotel overall was very outdated, not in the fascinating historical sense but rather neglected. The rooms weren’t well cleaned or maintained, stains and marks all over the walls and carpet. Skid marks left in the toilet, the soap dispensers goopy with old product all over them. The rooms just need some long over-due TLC. Genuinely feel it was over priced for what it was but it’s clear you’re paying for the views and location if you plan to go into the town, which made it worth it for one night.

What a gorgeous view and amazing town.The staff was amazing to my family. We had a small toddler and a great grandmother traveling with us .met everyone needs.

Amazing views from the hotel . The food was delicious would definitely recommend the chicken supreme. Beds really comfortable and staff were all friendly and helpful .

It was really dificult to fill the kettle in the tiny wash basin. The coffee in the room was awful.

Location and view were amazing! Looking out over the cliff top was exquisite, you could walk the cliff walk even to Winterfield golf club. Just as easily walk into town. The food at the restaurant is always delicious! So many choices including vegetarian and vegan. We had one of the hot tub rooms, very nice to be able to sit there and take in the view.

The rooms at the property do show its age. Understandable given the age of the property, but a little refresh would be good. We chose the hot tub rooms, do note you entered from the rear of the property. There seems to be an old door in the room that might have lead directly into the hotel some time ago.

Only snag for me was having people using their hot tub in the garden downstairs from me. Their voices carried as I was going to sleep. Not a big deal just a slight annoyance.

Μου έκανε χείριστη εντύπωση και αυτός είναι ο λόγος της χαμηλής βαθμιαίας, πως κατά την άφιξη μας απαίτησαν και πήραν όλα τα στοιχεία της πιστωτικής κάρτας, τόσο το νούμερο όσο και τον τριψήφιο κωδικό ασφαλείας της. Θα περίμενα να ζητούσαν μια χρηματική εγγύηση την οποία θα επέστρεφαν αν δεν υπήρχαν ζημιές, όπως και δεν υπήρξαν, κατά την αναχώρηση μας. Το να θέλουν όμως όλα τα στοιχεία μιας κάρτας μου φάνηκε πολύ άσχημο.

De locatie is prachtig als je een kamer met zicht op zee hebt.

Hotel kan wel een nieuwe inrichting gebruiken en het moet hoog nodig opgeknapt worden o.a. op de slaapkamers zijn de schuif ramen verrot. Vanwege dit vindt ik de de prijs- kwaliteitverhouding niet goed.

The location, the food and the staff.

The hot tub was set to 40 degrees and this was too hot to sit in. Normally a hot tub is set to 29 degrees. There was no hot water in the evening for a shower. There were lots of cobwebs on the terrace outside.

The location is stunning. We were in a hot tub suite and were lucky to have amazing views of the sunset sky during our stay, which was beautiful. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated with a lovely bathroom comprising of a shower and a generous sized , free standing bath. The complimentary toiletries smelled divine. We had our evening meal in the restaurant overlooking the sea and the food was exceptional. Beautifully presented and delicious, this was also the same at breakfast. Could not fault the food in any way.

During our stay, there was a problem with the hotels boiler which meant that our morning shower was cooler than we would have liked , but that is something unavoidable and a plumber was sorting it as we reported it. It didn’t ruin our stay and I would definately stay here again and will definately recommend it to others.

Everything! Bayswell Park has it all. Quiet peaceful location with the most amazing views. The building is impressive, stone with ivy fitting in perfectly to it's surroundings. The staff are wonderfully helpful, professional, friendly and polite. I arrived alone while my partner was competing in an ultra marathon. Sam made me feel welcome from the second I walked in the door, a lovely, warm, friendly lady that has a perfect energy for the job. Food was delicious, served in an airy dining room that captures the views from every angle. The room was large and tastefully decorated. Comfy bed. Bathroom with a shower and bath. The views from the hot tub are stunning. Dunbar is a wonderful place, you cannot but relax and unwind there, Bayswell Park Hotel compliments and aides the relaxation perfectly.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Location to the wedding venue we were at to and the views.

Breakfast was awful salmon was inedible and staff didn’t even notice or comment when the plate was returned uneaten. No hot water for showers on morning of day 2. On checking out I advise both issues no price reduction offered.

The location was stunning. The staff were all lovely and very approachable and helpful. The food, both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. The bed was comfy and clean.

The hotel is a bit 'tired' Room was a bit shabby and dusty in places. The bed mattress was very firm. Did not sleep well.

We had a hot tub room which was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is a little tired but the staff were amazing being both attentive and helpful. Breakfast choice was really good and the meals we had in the evening were excellent, well presented and not just the typical pub grub that you appear to get everywhere else. Location looking out over the bay was superb.

TV needs replacing, the sound quality was poor.

The location is incredible - the view of the cliffs directly from my room, the footpath along the cliffs right next to the hotel, the gardens overlooking the sea close by the hotel - it was amazing. The room was also very nicely decorated. It was an oasis of peace after being in Edinburgh for Fringe

The room wasn’t clean and areas of it was dated and needed repair. For the price we paid I expected it to be clean and not have various stains on the furnishings etc.

The location was superb. Beautiful views. Easy access to the town and the walks. The breakfast menu was good and extensive.

Die Lage ist einzigartig, das Personal ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und professionell. Das Hausinterner Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, wir haben mit Blick auf das Meer zu Abend gegessen und das Essen wirklich sehr genossen!

Das Haus ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, obwohl es augenscheinlich renoviert wurde. An einigen Stellen fällt dies aber auf: Wir hatten das Zimmer Nummer 2 und im Bad tropfte das kondensierte Wasser vom Duschen wieder von der Decke bzw. Oberlicht, weil es in dem Bad weder ein zu öffnendes Fenster noch eine Lüftung gab. Wenn man geräuschempfindlich ist, kann es ein wenig anstrengend werden: das Haus ist sehr hellhörig, und über die ganze Nacht hinweg war ein konstanter Brummton zu hören. Unser Zimmer war etwas staubig.

Bed was far too hard so sleep didn't go to well.we booked the hotel as dinner was an option no need to figure out where to eat but on our stay the dinner wasn't available due to staff issues so we were disappointed with hotel

The location is very nice - right on the sea front - and the outside of the building is very impressive. It is only a short walk to Dunbar high street The bathrooms have recently been updated The bathroom amenities in the room were good

The rooms were absolutely acceptable but felt a little dated. I felt like for a kind of nice older building the staff uniform could be a little more sharp to keep in with the more grand appearances of the property itself.

The room was very comfortable and clean

The room, although a little tired, was clean and well furnished. We had a hot tub on our terrace which was very welcome after a long journey. Breakfast choices were very good and served in a very nice dining room. Staff were friendly.

The exterior at the rear of the hotel on the first floor was in need of a little TLC. We looked up to this when in the hot tub.

Lovely location by the coast and the staff were very friendly.

The view was just fantastic. If it were not for a few minor things, 5 stars - like, I could not fully close the transom window. Staff were always helpful but they seemed tired. This is a somewhat quiet town and hotel, which was appreciated. Plenty of ways to hike and walk but not a lot to do in town - again okay. Somewhat of a surprise, the meals were excellent.

We stayed here on our last night of doing the NC500 and we had a sea view room which was room 11 and it was fabulous. From the moment we arrived I loved it here the staff were very friendly and kind and the food was fabulous and to have a walk around the coast and through the Golf club on your doorstep was brilliant , and only 30 mins from Edinburgh on the train I will be back. Breakfast was so well laid out and great choices and lovely cooked breakfast with a fabulous view. I cant say enough about this hotel it was just lovely...it only had a small lounge though so in the winter it could have been abit crowded but still a lovely place and great parking too. A short walk into the town and harbour all on the flat will look forward to returning there
