Deveria haver uma melhoria na parte do buffet do essenze para que houvesse ou parte de grelhados de carne e de grelhados de peixe, para haver mais diversidade.

O que mais gostamos no alojamento foi as comodidades do quarto muito confortável, limpo e bem arrumado pela equipa de limpeza. A equipa da animação muito energética para entreter os meninos. Gostamos muito do transporte para a praia muito agradável e o Sr condutor muito amável! Staff em geral muito simpático!

O que menos gostamos foi haver música a partir das 9:30 da manhã, para os quartos que se encontram perto das piscinas torna-se incómodo sendo música tipo electro bem alta logo de manhã… Música mesmo muito alta para quem está nas espreguiçadeiras. Comida razoável, sobremesa industriais não gostamos de quase nada além das frutas e gelados. Muito calor na zona das refeições… A zona do lanche da tarde fecha muito cedo 17:30!!! Para quem regressa de uma tarde na praia por exemplo não temos tempo de comer alguma coisa antes do jantar ! No dia do Check out uma senhora dos serviços de quarto foi nos bater as porta as 9:20 a perguntar a que horas íamos sair … achei uma falta de respeito para com o hóspede pois ainda estávamos a descansar e que eu saiba o quarta estava pago até às 12h !!! Foi uma pena acabar com esta nota negativa …

Localização e disposição do hotel, também dos funcionários.

Limpeza e disponibilidade dos postos eléctricos para carregar os carros, muito poucos para um hotel de grande dimensão.

Existiu dois ou três empregados que surpreenderam pela simpatia e disponibilidade, mas na sua maioria não tinham grande interação, inclusive houve um colaborador que não sabia o que era tiramisú apesar de haver uma estação dedicada a essa sobremesa nessa noite. A limpeza do quarto foi no geral muito boa.

Tendo em consideração o valor pago, estava à espera de mais. No check in não souberam dizer a diferença do tudo incluído e o tudo incluído premium. No primeiro dia não havia toalhas e apesar de ainda ser 11:45, disseram que o "pop up" fechava das 12:00 às 15:00 logo não poderiam garantir que havia toalhas à aquela hora. Várias vezes assisti os empregados (que até foram simpáticos) a reclamar de clientes, seja no bar ou nas refeições. A piscina de adultos não tinha qualquer animação, nem musica ambiente. O empregado de bar nunca se deslocou às espreguiçadeiras, fosse para servir ou limpar as mesmas que se encontravam sujas. A piscina encontrava-se suja (com lixo do meio envolvente) mas acredito que a falta de limpeza deveu-se ao tempo instável. A animação terminava absurdamente cedo, no plano dizia que terminava as 23:00, mas nunca foi além das 21:50, o que me leva a dizer que este hotel está inteiramente dedicado a um público nórdico (ingleses) ignorando por completo os hábitos portugueses. Não faltam oportunidades para fazer mais, com custos baixos, fosse a manter musica na tenda dos eventos ou outro tipo de iniciativas, e falo em custos porque se nota logo a pressão que existe sobre a equipa em reduzir custos ou a maximizar horários de trabalho. (e não investiram num sistema de som, havendo colunas espalhadas nas várias áreas). A animação é "OK", mas em comparação a hotéis que já frequentei mais baratos inclusive, deixa um pouco a desejar.

Os funcionários são todos muito simpáticos! A comida é muito boa, tanto nos restaurantes como no buffet! Gostei do conceito de serem vários edifícios espalhados. O hotel fez-nos um upgrade do quarto sem qualquer custo e o nosso quarto era excelente, bastante grande, camas confortáveis e o frigorífico sempre abastecido com agua.

Apesar de ser um hotel de 5* há vários pontos que me desiludiram por isso não posso considerar que seja um 5* - apesar de proibido as espreguiçadeiras eram reservadas logo pela manhã; - os saltos para a piscina e o uso de bóias também é proibido mas mais parecia um concurso a ver quem leva a a bóia maior e dava mais saltos. Com um filho quase não consegui ir à àgua porque não era seguro, cheguei a levar boladas na cara e com uma prancha. A opção da piscina de adultos era mais sossegada mas quem tem filhos não pode ir com eles; - um dia faltaram as toalhas, houve várias reclamações mas ninguém veio falar com os clientes a explicar o que se passava; - música muito alta o dia inteiro na piscina; - animação muito fraca, a semana inteira foram os mesmos jogos; - não existe nada pensado para os adolescentes; - no buffet não há cuidado com o vestuário; - falta de copos lavados em vários bares

Musica de animação nas piscinas em voluma exagerado durante todo o dia (a iniciar às 9h30) não permitem descansar nem no quarto - porque se ouve a batida de fundo - num junto da piscina.

Spa not very big, unclean pool, steam room was not working properly. Pools were very packed as so many guests. Enough sun beds but needed to reserve them with your towels early morning to get near pools

Le côté village pour les enfants nous a permis de prendre du temps pour nous. plusieurs attractions sont à la disposition des enfants en toute autonomie La pension complète à été très appréciée pour l autonomie laissée aux enfants

Le côté un peu chauvin Français est que malgré une très grande variété de produits et multiple restaurant, les plats cuisinés sont fades et sans saveurs. Peut être revoir les cuisiniers car les produits sont là et en quantité... Les compositions de salades ont permis de faire l equilibre

O espaço é simpatico,com bastante arvoredo. Colaboradores simpaticos,no entanto,a esmagora maioria nao falava Portugues. Comida normal.

Da confusão. Confusão na zona das piscinas,onde não existia vigilância, nem nadador salvador, e que a maior parte do tempo,parecia uma selva,tanto de pessoas, como de boias e bolas. Para se conseguir uma sombra, só mesmo por milagre. Tudo ocupado,mas por toalhas. O que mais impressionou, foi a quantidade de baratas, junto às entradas dos quartos e caixotes do lixo. No buffet esteve sempre muito calor, e era muito pouco organizado Para um hotel de 5 estrelas, deixa muito a desejar.

Location nice, easy transportation to the beach.

Food was horrible. Being a vegetarian didn’t not get many options. I had done many all inclusive holidays but this one is right below in my lists. Be it a lunch or dinner not many options served. Wouldn’t suggest all inclusive. Go for half board. Plenty of restaurants outside and better food quality. Even cleaning service wasn’t upto the mark. Everytime we have to call the receptionist and ask for towels or clean the room.

Les piscines familiales étaient bondées et sans aucune règles si bien que les enfants sautaient dans tous les sens et jouaient au ballon. Même dans le bassin pour bébés. Ce n’était pas agréable de se baigner. L’eau et le fond étaient sales en fin de journée surtout. Et la belle piscine que l’on voit sur les photos n’est accessible qu’aux adultes. Au buffet le ressenti était d’être dans une usine. Par ailleurs, odeurs d’égouts fréquentes dans la chambre. Ce n’est pas au niveau d’un 5 étoiles.

Pequeno almoço com produtos de muito boa qualidade e com uma variedade assinalável. O facto de ter vários restaurantes disponíveis acaba por dar várias boas opções para o jantar. O serviço contínuo de comida através do local de barbecue acaba por ser muito conveniente para quem não se quer deslocar ao restaurante para o almoço.

Os hóspedes reservam a maioria das cadeiras e espreguiçadeiras junto à piscina desde muito cedo. Esses elementos estão depois durante horas sem qualquer utilização.

I liked the restaurants, food, service

There were ants in our bathroom. Despite requesting it be resolved there was no response. I’d written to the hotel in advance asking for an early check in, upgraded our room in the hope of acquiring same and indicating further payment for same for my elderly mother. This did not happen, in fact we waited beyond the advertised time for room availability I asked for a room close to amenities, again for same reason. We were allocated the room the furtherest away.

Condições e atendimento de todo o staf.

Achei que tinha um numero excessivo de clientes, para as infraestruturas disponiveis. Limpeza nas piscinas e zonas envolventes.

The pools and daily activities were great.

The gym is way too small for an hotel that size, and it has been like that for years. No improvement or upgrade. There were often 5+ people coming at the same time and they couldn't use the space. Many had to turn back and leave. The only weights they have are too light. The food lacked diversity and some quality as well. The buffet is convenient, and certainly one reason why people chose all-inclusive hotel, but the quality of it is below a 5-star hotel. The parking situation is also strange an inconvenient.

O quarto não permitia total blackout entrando muita luz logo cedo. Limitação de reservas nos restaurantes consoante a duração da estadia.

Eten was wel gevarieerd. Werd ook vers bereid. Lekker fruit bij het ontbijt. Minigolf was leuk. Alleen wel flink in de zon.

De gordijnen in de kamer waren waardeloos. Het werd zo licht in de kamer dat je erg vroeg wakker werd. Ook de afvoer in de badkamer liep niet door waardoor het water niet wegliep en er water overstroomde. We hebben dit 2 keer doorgegeven en na de tweede keer kregen we een andere kamer. Dat was fijn. Daar was het probleem van de goot opgelost maar de gordijnen waren nog steeds waardeloos. Gelukkig kwam de zon de andere kant op dus iets minder last ervan. Je had 2 shifts bij het ontbijt en diner. Dus dan moest je op tijd zijn.

We asked for twin beds - we didn’t get them Also we asked for an iron it never turned up We also asked for late check out and were told no - but everyday our room wasn’t sorted till later afternoon and one day they left us with one towel even though we had hung all towels up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Further out from the airport around 45-50 mins taxi journey, trust me it’s worth the journey! The atmosphere of the hotel is incredible, rooms were very modern. I’d say that they have a bit of an ant problem in the rooms on the lower floors, however, if you inform the staff when you arrive they will sort out the issue for you! Definitely worth the money you spend as the food choices are great not just at the buffet restaurant but in the other restaurants too! I’d recommend booking the restaurants when you arrive however bear in mind you can only book 2 days in advance! I never used the kids club so can’t really comment on that even though I travelled with a 3 year old but they had 5 different pools and only one of them were adult only! My 3 year old absolutely enjoyed himself and will be booking my next family holiday at this hotel in 2027! Staff were just amazing! Cleanliness was great at the hotel. Noise level depending on where you stay can vary. My room was close to the kids playground where they played football however, once doors are shut you can barely hear anything. The best thing too is there’s a bridge which takes you directly to the beach approximately 15 mins walk probably just under and there’s a little shuttle train which takes you to the beach and back! Honestly if you’re considering Portugal and want to escape the super touristy Albufeira you Should consider this hotel. Even if you do half board there are fantastic restaurants nearby too!

I love this resort!!! The staff are the best. Bartenders are so talented and fun. Waiters are so sweet, accommodating, and attentive. We love our favorite dynamic duo Daniel and Roman💗💗💗

As instalações recentes e modernas; o espaço amplo com muitas espreguiçadeiras; a quantidade de espaços de lazer, desde campo futebol, tenda de jogos, parque infantil, etc.

Em 2 dos dias em que estivemos os pratos principais no buffet eram muito específicos, com muitos molhos o que dificulta a alimentação das crianças. Por vezes, menos é mais.

Todo o hotel e serviços são bastante interessantes.

Pouca oferta de carta de bebidas, principalmente sem álcool. Deveriam repensar em mais variedade tanto de cocktails como de cervejas e vinhos sem álcool.

A truly incredible 12-day holiday. The hotel was beautiful and our two young kids had so much to do. Food great and the staff, from the chefs and the servers to the housekeeping and reception, did everything to make sure our family had a memorable stay. Special mention to Eliseu who worked every day at the lunch time buffet and was great with the family, especially the kids. The best way I could sum it up is that even with two young children, everything felt so relaxed and chilled. We will be back as soon as we can.

Da distância até a praia, poderiam levar-nos mais próximos de buggy até pelo menos ao portão do resort. E mesmo dentro do resort, poderiam ter mais buggys disponíveis para nos ajudar nas deslocações entre piscinas e vilas, com crianças ajudou-nos muito os buggys mas nem sempre estavam disponíveis

This was a birthday treat and it was a nice hotel but with a few quibbles! Main one was being charged for a bucket of ice 8 euros !!

Lovely hotel. Great pool facilities. The entertainment team were excellent. Pool games and night entertainment was fab. The barmen at the pool bar, Abdullah, Mohammed and the chap with the tattoos and braces, were very professional and attentive.

A week ago we came back from 10 day stay at this wonderful hotel. We came in before check in time but our room was ready which was amazing. Staff is very helpful and a big shout out to our lovely cleaning lady Iryna who made sure our room and spotless and clean even our daughters teddy bears were looked after :) Food was amazing, was not hungry even once, drinks ... honestly mojitos top notch. The water polo matches were highlight of the day for my daughter and my husband :) Beach is lovely walk and views there amazing as well. We used the train to centre of Alvor few times. Also Uber is really cheap so we went to Portimao twice. Please go there its gorgeous place !! Was really scared after I had bad experience in Greece 2 years ago after getting sick. But here I felt safe and happy hygiene wise. A la carte restaurant visited all of them honestly really really nice food. Highly recommend.

Our first time in Portugal as a family with a toddler. We booked the all inclusive premium package for a week in July. We really enjoyed the premium breakfast area as it was much quieter than the main buffet. Toddler pool was great for our little one, room was cleaned well every day. Some staff members went above and beyond providing a great service, and always making our toddler smile - Abdallah, Samar, Antonio and Ravinder in particular were very welcoming. Train into Alvor is great, and beach is lovely. A la carte restaurants are better than the buffet. Overall a great holiday for a young family looking for a relaxing week in the sun.

Great location quiet and traditional, hotel was clean with great facilities. We upgraded to have deluxe family room which was great as kids had their own bedroom with a bathroom separating our rooms. We did live out of a suitcase as there was much hanging space for all our clothes we stayed here for 2 weeks. We did not upgrade to the premium package as we didn’t feel it worth the price and was happy with pick drinks. All staff were very welcoming and attentive. Our kids enjoyed the children’s activities and signed up when they had activities they wanted to attend. Both children age 10 & 12 took part in the daily pool games which they thoroughly enjoyed. All bars close at 11pm, they had games tent which was showing all football games every night. The front entertainment tent also showed some games after entertainment had finished. We went to all 3 al carte restaurants but we preferred the main buffet hall. Every day was a different meat and catch of the day. Lots to choose from lovely salad and fresh bread every day. I have never gone back to same place before but I would highly recommend this holiday package bought through jet2holidays, who were great with transfers booking trips to water parks etc couldn’t fault the hotel or holiday company. The hotel has a bridge leading over to beach which is beautiful. 2 bars and restaurants there we are in both food was great. I wouldn’t recommend going in season we went June 10th-24th. Last 5 days got extremely busy with new arrivals.

The available facilities were fantastic. Plenty to do with our 3 year old. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Rooms were very nice. Shower was excellent. The food was good. Not exceptional but good, for a buffet it was excellent. With the exception to one restaurant. Mad Med was by far the best restaurant. The sangria in the restaurants was the star of the show. The nearby beach is fantastic

1. A very bad start. No welcome drink. I expected more from a 5 star. Friendly staff and welcoming but I was told to park my car at the top of the hill and someone would drive me back… There was nobody to drive me back. Had to walk all the way back down with bags in the heat after a long travel day. Check in was suppose to be 15:00 despite arriving at 16:30, our room was not ready. My wife and I were really unimpressed with the start of our stay. 2. The children’s pool: We loved the children’s pool at the bottom for our 3 year old to play but for me and my wife to get a drink we had to walk all the way to the closest bar about a 3 minute walk away. And there was nobody around to bring us drinks. Not a huge deal but i’ve experienced better 5 star hotels. There should be a bar by the family pool. (There was a close water bar available next to the bar). 3. The sprinklers: For some reason the sprinklers came on in the middle of the day soaking all of our electronics. I was angry at the time. Thankfully nothing was damaged, but had damage been called i would have made a formal complaint. The families around the pool trying to relax were very unimpressed. My relaxation was disrupted having to run to the kids zone to ask someone to turn it off. 4. Plastic cups. The only time you can drink out of a glass is in the restaurant. I can’t stand drinking out of plastic cups. I understand the logic but not a nice experience when trying to enjoy a cold drink in my opinion. (Again I’m expecting a 5 star experience). 5. Inconsistent with drinks. The restaurant drinks were fantastic. The bars near the grill we’re terrible. 6. The steak restaurant Rustica was awful. I highly recommend not eating there. The staff were friendly and polite but other than that - no A/C: My daughter got too hot and we were concerned. One girl was sick from heat stress. - The food was Bad. We asked for traditional Portuguese steak medium rare. What we both received was 2 small steaks each.

We were extremely pleased with our stay and experience at Trivoli. The facilities were brilliant and the setup is perfect for families. The staff were friendly and helpful and incredibly family orientated. The waiters and staff went over and above to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Abdallah was a great barman who took the time to really interact with the children and entertain them with a few magic tricks. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back again!

Fantastic hotel, village and beaches! We stayed for ten days this June and, honestly, I’m still gutted to be home! The room we had (double deluxe) was ample big enough for a family of three. It was clean, and modern. The grounds were almost immaculate in most places. Staff were plentiful and mostly very helpful. The pools were great and entertainment was, well, entertaining 🙈😂 The only issues we had were with the food, which was ok to be fair, but lacking in allergen information. Our son has a dairy allergy. We were told at the beginning there was no option to cook our son any dairy free pasta and were not told about the vegan desserts. A few days before we left, I complained to a Head Chef (Sofia), who was incredibly helpful and apologetic. She advised that the kitchens can make food free from certain allergens and promptly provided my son with some fresh pasta. Although the pasta on the side had no dairy added to it, it was close to the Parmesan so they could not guarantee no cross-contamination. This was apparently true for many other foods. Whilst I understand this, we went a week giving our young son very limited food options, believing there had been dairy added to pretty much everything else in all of the restaurants. The day after this, we also found out that there was always a vegan desert option tucked away at one end of the main restaurant, which we had never been told about before and had never found. So my son’s food options for the week were quite rubbish. It would be great if the hotel could perhaps think about having one specified vegan / gluten free etc area, where everything can be dairy free, as we have found in many other hotels. Aside from this, knowing what we know now, we would probably still return!

The Tivoli Alvor has everything for the family, our first visit was 2024 and we have been here 6 times since . The staff and the hotel are top class ! The variety of restaurants is second to none and the food is amazing. But the thing that makes us return is the genuine welcome you get from the staff . Staff retention is obviously important to Tivoli Alvor as the majority of staff from 2024 are still here providing 5 star service. They are attentive to detail but not intrusive. It was our first time going all inclusive in 2024, and we have continued since in order to avail of the hotel facilities. Our grandchildren use the kids club , suffice to say that there are tears every time we are leaving Tivoli Alvor which is testament to the quality of the facilities, and the friendships they have made with the brilliant staff. The different entertainment shows nightly are a great opportunity to wind down from your day’s activities. There is great variety and the performances are very professional. All in all if you want to have a special break, Tivoli Alvor is highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed. The fact that we continually meet people who have returned numerous times is testament to quality of the product that Tivoli Alvor.

Amazing experience, great customer service from Roman

A lovely hotel with great rooms and fantastic pools. As a family with a young family more flexibility to the dining halls and availability of snacks in the evening would make the stay more enjoyable. Everything closing at 11pm made the days feel like they were cut short. Some small things the hotel could change to make it a 10/10 stay.

La ducha no funcionaba bien. No daba para cambiar la caída del agua de la ducha móvil a la estática. La comida en los restaurantes no fue la mejor, tenían muy poca variedad y el tiempo de reserva debería tomar en cuenta el horario de cierre de los restaurantes. Hicimos una reserva a las 21:30 pero el restaurante cerraba a las 22:00 mientas estábamos aún cenando, levantaron toda la mesa de postres. Lovely hotel comfortable room and bed , friendly staff who were very obliging and helpful at all times. Plenty of activities and nice wee train to go down to Alvor . Very good value overall . Only thing I didn’t like was loud boom boom music sometimes played at pool area.

Amazing family friendly hotel. Was apprehensive due to some of the reviews online. Travelled with 2 teenagers, plenty of entertainment for all with the 3 pools , you can chill out if that's what you want. Plenty of sun loungers & no mad panic needed in the morning putting out towels! Great selection of food, probably could do with more plain meat dishes, as opposed to those in sauces, just my personal choice. Staff are amazing everywhere you go, rooms clean & Nespresso machine was a lovely touch. Will definitely be back & if in doubt just book it!

We stayed at the Tivoli Alvor Algarve for 11 nights early June, as a family of 3. I must say having read some reviews prior to our stay I was apprehensive, however I was pleasantly surprised at how good the hotel was. Firstly the positives; The kids club and entertainment staff are excellent. We also really enjoyed the food, especially the specialty restaurants. The resort itself is clean, with 3 pools and access to the beach (10 minute walk). We never had any issues getting a seat around the pool and also found the bar staff really good throughout (and wait staff) Now the not so good; we did experience some issues, checking in being one of them, as they didn't have our reservation, this was rectified but not the greatest start at 1am. We also had an issue with our room, the cleaner wasn't great and they didn't change the glasses/ cups for 11 days even though we asked, we had to ask for additional amenities like towels, toilet roll which I think is really poor. I did speak to reception and this still wasn't rectified. We also had an issue where the phone to reception wasn't answered once, we once tried this whilst my husband went to the lobby as we wanted to check it wasn't our phone, and he could hear it ringing and not one of the 4 staff answered it. In the end I phoned from an external number. Again this is poor. As a whole we had great holiday and stay, but there are definitely issues (mostly house keeping, and communication with the front of house) that said I would recommend a stay here especially if you have young children

Second time staying at this wonderful place, we think it’s so good for family’s and the staff are exceptional. The same amazing staff where still there from last year and remembered my children going above and beyond to make them smile. Special thanks to Elizabete in Mad Max for making our daughter experience two years in a row, she talks about her even now! ! And we can’t thank Abdellah and Taruka enough for being the best staff, bringing laughs and magic to my children’s holiday, bringing genuine joy and excitement in the evenings, giving us magic tricks and special drinks for the kids every time we saw them. Honestly they were amazing and a credit to the hotel.

La calidad de la comida es mala y hay muy poca variedad. Como todo incluido que es, se supone que pagas 350 euros la noche para que puedas comer bien y no fue el caso. Muchos españoles que estuvimos juntos coincidimos en lo mismo. No volvería porque no hemos comido bien.

This hotel is amazing! Me and my wife got to our room and was immediately happy with the size of the room, the bed was so comfy and extra beverages. We went straight to lunch and the buffet was immensely delicious! Loads of choices, fresh off the pan, loads of salads and the service was top. Special mention to Daljit Singh in the restaurant! Excellent service! The amenities are excellent too. Steam room, sauna, indoor swimming pool, Turkish bath...clean, maintained and just so relaxing. This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in yet and the service was excellent. Would love to come here again....

Disappointing experience – not what I’d expect from a 5-star all-inclusive I stayed here expecting a true 5-star all-inclusive experience, especially after paying around £1,400 for my holiday. Unfortunately, the hotel fell well below my expectations in several areas. The disappointment started as soon as I arrived. The check-in process was extremely brief, and I was given very little information about the hotel. I wasn’t shown around the facilities or told where anything was. I was simply handed a map and told where my room was. I wasn’t given a pool towel card or a proper explanation of how the resort operated. I had also arrived by car, and the staff were fully aware that I needed to park, yet nobody explained how parking worked. I wasn’t told that the car park isn’t within walking distance or that you have to use a golf buggy every time you want to access your car. Instead, the main focus at check-in seemed to be encouraging me to return and pay an extra £30 per day to upgrade to the “All Inclusive Plus” package. The biggest issue was the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. My first room had ants constantly crawling across the floor, flies on my pillows, a broken light, and a shower that leaked badly, causing water to spread across the bathroom floor and underneath the bed on the other side of the glass partition. The ant problem wasn’t limited to my room either. The stairwells leading to the rooms were also covered with ants, making it feel like the infestation affected much of the resort. During my stay, I also overheard other guests at the buffet discussing ant nests in their own rooms, which suggested I wasn’t the only person experiencing this issue. I had to call reception at least three times and chase the maintenance team again the following day before anyone came. I was eventually moved to another room, but that room also had ants, so the problem wasn’t actually resolved. The customer service was disappointing throughout my stay. Despite all of the issues I experienced, no gesture of goodwill or compensation was offered. I even had to pay for a late checkout after the inconvenience caused, and I felt the staff showed very little concern about the problems I raised. Although the hotel is advertised as all-inclusive, there are important restrictions that aren’t made clear. On arrival, you’re required to choose either the early or later breakfast sitting. If you choose the later breakfast, you’re automatically assigned the later dinner sitting, meaning dinner isn’t until after 8pm. This removes flexibility from your holiday and isn’t explained before booking. The drinks package was also misleading. Many cocktails and premium drinks aren’t included in the standard all-inclusive package. To have access to the full drinks menu, you’re expected to pay an additional £30 per day for the All Inclusive Plus package. In my opinion, that isn’t what most people expect when booking an all-inclusive holiday. The adults-only pool was another disappointment. There isn’t a proper pool bar serving cocktails. Instead, there’s only a small stand offering soft drinks and a very limited selection of alcoholic drinks, so if you want cocktails or a wider choice, you have to leave the area. The main pool is extremely loud, busy and heavily geared towards families with children, with entertainment throughout the day. If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday, this probably isn’t the right hotel. It is much better suited to families than couples wanting a quieter break. Parking was far more inconvenient than expected. The car park is a short drive away and cannot realistically be accessed on foot. Every time you wanted your car, you had to ask reception to take you there in a golf buggy. When returning, you had to drive to reception first so a member of staff could follow you to the car park in the buggy and then drive you back to the hotel. It turned something that should have been simple into an unnecessary inconvenience. The location was also more isolated than I expected. The nearby beach is beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of the area, but it’s around a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Apart from that, there isn’t much within walking distance, so unless you’re happy staying at the resort or driving elsewhere, there aren’t many nearby restaurants, shops or things to do. Finally, the food was average with limited variety. As someone looking for halal-friendly options, there were days where the only meat available was pork, leaving very few alternatives. For a hotel advertised as 5 stars, I expected much better. The cleanliness and maintenance issues, misleading all-inclusive package, poor communication at check-in and lack of customer care meant this was nowhere near the standard I paid for. While the grounds are attractive and the nearby beach is lovely, the overall experience was disappointing, and I wouldn’t return.

We have just returned from Tivoli and had an amazing time. The food was great, with plenty of choice at the buffet. We ate at the Italian restaurant twice and it was absolutely stunning. The staff were very friendly, kept our wine topped up, and couldn’t do enough for us. We ate at Roastic once, which was also very nice, but we personally preferred the Italian. That’s probably just down to personal preference, as I generally prefer Italian food. As for Mad Med, I personally wouldn’t bother booking it again and would choose the Italian or Roastic instead. The train that takes you into town is fantastic, and it’s also very easy to get an Uber. We used Uber a couple of times and found it very reasonably priced. We visited Zoo Marine, which was included in our stay as we stayed for 10 days. I would recommend using Uber rather than the taxi service offered by the hotel, as the hotel taxi was €30 each way, while Uber was around €18 each way. The White Party and Tropical Party were amazing. The other entertainment was also very good, although it didn’t really keep my 6 year old’s attention. I also found the mini disco being at 5:30pm a little too early, but that may just be personal preference. There are two minor points I would mention. The bottom pool appeared noticeably dirtier than the middle pool, to the point where I chose not to swim in it one day. I wasn’t sure whether this was because water drains down to that pool, but there was a clear difference in cleanliness between the two. Secondly, some of the stones around the pool area appear to be coming loose and end up in the pool. I think these could do with being relaid. These are very minor issues, and overall the resort is kept extremely clean. The rooms were spotless and all of the staff were lovely. We would definitely return.

We visited Tivoli Alvor with our son, his wife and 3 year old granddaughter. What a fantastic hotel; friendly & efficient welcome at reception. We were able to book the a’ la carte restaurants for the week on arrival. A quick buggy ride to the rooms which were lovely, big comfy beds, a fridge with bottled water and a really nice shower. The buffet breakfast was ample with plenty of options of hot and cold food. Lunch too was great, though we took to eating in Salty where pizza, panini and toasties are served, with a buffet salad and dessert options. If you fancy a hot dog, burger or steak, you can grab that in the cook out area, and sit in Salty (or take it to your sun bed if you don’t want to miss a moment of sun. There’s icecream, coffee & cake and popcorn served in the main entertainment marquee, where the main bar is. A kids disco every day at 5:30pm and evening entertainment starting at 9pm. But, take some ear defenders, the sound level is akin to an AC/DC concert, It’s unnecessarily loud. Especially for younger ones. If you want a quieter drink Shore is open from 10am til late in the evening. If I have a criticism here it’s at the lack of family seating. There were an awful lot of high tables and stools that were often unused with couples sat at the more comfortable seating for groups. Of course they’re entitled to do that, it just made sitting with the little one difficult. During the day there are 4 pools to choose, one of which is adult only, in a quiet spot just in front of the main restaurant. Our little one loved the kids splash park where there were always sun beds available. In fact there were always sun beds available all over the site. One of the photos over looking the pools was taken at 9:20 am the other at 7:45 pm. The hotel staff were all very friendly, and particularly good with kids. If you want to get away from the pool for a while the little train/bus runs into Alvor which is a lovely little village with plenty of bars and restaurants. We booked a boat trip while we were there BUT for the caves of Benagil boats don’t leave from Alvor. We booked with Welcome Boat Trips & Fishing Who picked us up from the hotel took as to the port and brought us back after the tour. The guide was great, the tour was excellent. We took advantage too of free entry at Zoomarine, which is a brilliant day out for all. We did choose to book a taxi to Zoomarine via the Hotel which was €100 for 5 of us. An Uber would have been €60, we just preferred the assurance of a cab booked via the hotel. Just to touch back on the food: we never struggled with the buffet food, there was plenty of choice. Of the à la carte restaurants we all agreed that the Italian was our favourite, but the starter buffet at Mad Med was fantastic. We all agreed, if (when) we return to Portugal, the Tivoli Alvor would be our first choice.

Hotel and facilities were exceptional. Staff friendly all areas. Good for families and young children. There was no area in the evening where you had entertainment for adults, like a singer. Agree with plastic glasses at the pool area, but at night did not like plastic glasses being used. Really good Hotel but definitely not for couples on their own .

This has been the best holiday our family has had. The hotel is exceptional. The cleanliness, the staff, the whole experience has been a delight. The rooms are clean and spacious and well catered for. The food has a wide variety for all meal times and in between they have a great snack bar. The kids had plenty to choose from and have a good selection of vegetarian foods. Everything on site is well informed where to go and what to do outside of the hotel. There’s a regular bus taking you outside the hotel into town for a change of scenery and the Ubers are magic. There is plenty going on throughout the day at the hotel with lots of activities for the kids and a games area and football and tennis courts. For us the entertainment staff really made our holiday. Through the day they have lots going on around the pool and the evening entertainment is so much fun. We especially enjoyed the tropical party and the white party. They are the friendliest, nicest, kindest staff and they really made our holiday. Thankyou to the reception staff JJ and a big thankyou to Paulo and the rest of his team on the entertainment crew. It was amazing !!!

Having read all reviews about this hotel on the run up to our holiday we were a bit concerned as there were a lot of mixed reviews which didn’t appear to be as positive as when we initially booked. But I can safely say this holiday was amazing. The hotel and all its facilities and staff exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by Mara on reception, who was really friendly, very helpful and extremely understanding of our needs and went out of her way to ensure our needs were met. We had issues booking the al a cart restaurants ourself but Goncalo in Hospitality was more than happy to make all restaurant booking and arranged all our excursions. Carosello Massive thank you to MINHAZUL & NUMA constantly kept our drinks topped up and was very attentive . Kids menu provided a good choice, my son ate from the kids menu on our 1st visit then the main menu on the 2nd visit. On our second visit the restaurant had power issue which delayed taking order & food being cooked which couldn’t be helped NUNA couldn’t apologise enough and kept us update on progress, once normal service was resumed order was taken & food delivered swiftly. Roastic - we ate twice here Food was amazing, perfectly cooked and briming with flavour. Kids menu provided a good choice. Premium plus well worth the extra money for the additional choice of drinks & breakfast service Breakfast in the Premium area provided a less chaotic morning, the addition to choice of eggs freshly cooked eggs was a great addition to breakfast. One morning we were really let down as we waited 20 minutes watching many other orders coming out which were take after ours , it appears our order was forgotten somehow ! SAYANA looked after us a few mornings she was so friendly and nothing was to much bother for her, she made a real effort to interact with my son which was a lovely touch. Essenze - Buffet lunch & dinner provided a great selection of food always able to choose something you wanted the only down side was I thought that they could have provided more children’s options. Salty - provided a good selection of food so ate there a few time to avoid the busy buffet area. The BBQ went down a storm with my son who was more than happy to gab a hot dog or a burger on a few occasions. The housekeeping team work really hard to keep rooms spotless daily. Bar service was brilliant after being here a few hours the bar staff at Shore bar knew your order. Evening entertainment is good but a little repetitive as it’s mainly dance shows. Found the magic show and quiz night a bit boring. The White party night was by far the best night of entertainment. Overall we had an amazing holiday definitely would look to come back and recommend to others
