In room coffee maker did not work. Informed front desk, was not corrected. Last day elevator out of order, had to bring luggage down eight flights of stairs.

Elke ochtend kon je lekker een bakje koffie of thee halen met wat lekkers erbij. Na een lange dag kwamen we dan terug bij het hotel en gingen we nog even een paar potjes poolen. Eenmaal terug op.de kamer was het bed lekker opgemaakt. Ook het personeel was super aardig we hebben echt genoten.

’m giving this hotel 2 stars, and it’s not because they wouldn’t refund a non-refundable reservation. I completely understand that I booked a non-refundable rate and accept responsibility for that. Our company books hotels in this area fairly often because we have staff coming in from out of town for work projects. For this particular project, our staffing needs changed and we ended up booking another hotel that could better accommodate the team. Rather than lose this reservation, I called to see if we could simply move it out about a month for another staff project. I wasn’t asking for our money back at all. The hotel front desk could not have been nicer. They were kind, accommodating and told me moving the dates would not be an issue. I was genuinely grateful, especially since I understood they were under no obligation to make an exception. The problem was that Expedia still needed management approval. Expedia reached out multiple times over three days and received no response. That is why this is a 2-star review. If management had simply said no, I would have accepted it. It was a non-refundable booking, after all. What I don't appreciate is having such a helpful front desk tell a repeat business customer that they are happy to accommodate the change, only to have management be nowhere to be found when approval is actually needed. We've used this hotel off and on for about two years because the location is convenient for our staff. It isn't the most modern or nicest hotel, but that never bothered us because convenience and good service mattered more. The front desk deserves credit for being so kind and helpful. Unfortunately, a hotel also needs responsive management. After Expedia repeatedly tried to reach someone without success, we decided it was time to take our future staff bookings elsewhere. It's their loss. Our staff have booked this hotel as their go to because many of the out of town staffers like that it's near Union Square so they have things to do at night. Well, we found another place that is more modern now. It's not Union Square but at least I know that I can get a hold of the manager.

I was in San Francisco for one night and a full day, and fully appreciated the extremely comfortable bed at King George, nice bathroom and tub, the extraordinary complimentary pastries and coffee and the late checkout. The lounge was a comfortable place to hang out and the location was perfect for my needs, close to everything. I would definitely recommend! LD

King george hotel was such a fun experience for someone who traveled solo for the first time. I felt welcomed & everyone is super friendly!! Customer service 10/10. Will be returning (:

Immediately when you enter the lobby the signature scent is lovely & very welcoming. The rooms were Cozy & clean. We enjoyed the complimentary delicious croissants & coffee. Excellent value & location. Fast WiFi I’d definitely stay again. Until next time….

Beautiful small hotel with nice amenities and very friendly staff. It was not listed as serving breakfast but I was happily surprised to find that they had wonderful daily pastries and coffee. Will definitely come back.

For being as cheap as it is I totally expected this to not be very nice but when I came I learned we had so many amenities, the people here are great, and the rooms were nicer than I thought. Nothing can beat the location. It's very convenient. I arrived at the hotel early around 8:30 and the check in time is 4 pm. They took my luggage and store it in the meantime, then they gestured me to the freshly brewed coffee and pastries. What a welcoming gesture! The staffs are very friendly, Fiel was very and kind and provided info as where to eat, where to park, places to visit and so on. John is just as helpful. The cleaning staff did a great job. I hope, guests would at least provide them with a tip. Cleaning a room is not an easy job, considering that they have so many rooms to deal with. I also appreciate the lady who constantly refill the pastries. The hotel is old and definitely need an upgrade. It doesn't have to be a major one, perhaps, just changing the carpet on some of the rooms to start it will do. But regardless, having that price and the location, cleanliness of the facility and friendly staff, i would definitely come and stay again in my next visit.

Horribly treated by manager and front desk staff regarding my handicapped cousin being accommodated. Prepaid reservation on Travelocity in June, called the hotel on July 2nd, arrived July 8th. After many arguments with them, we were told to get out of the hotel that day. I called 911. We were finally left in peace to finish our stay. I was outraged at the low level of respect we received. Also, the carpets were filthy, elevator fit 4 people, no locks on the windows. Stay away from The King George Hotel!

I recently stayed at the King George Hotel in San Francisco and took a chance on this lesser-known brand among all the big chains in the city. I was extremely pleasantly surprised. The front desk and reception team were outstanding, and the overall service felt well above what I expected from a “budget” hotel. My room was on the smaller side and the building does show its age in places, but it was very clean and thoughtfully appointed, with thick towels, comfortable bedding, quality French-milled soaps, and nice fixtures. I also appreciated the practical touches like convenient power outlets, in-room coffee, and modern TV connections. The lobby bar, common areas, and breakfast setup were all inviting and enjoyable, making it an easy place to relax or get a bit of work done. I’d highly recommend King George Hotel for business travelers or solo guests; families may want to book more than one room due to the compact size, but overall this was a great stay and I’m glad I gave it a try.

The water pressure is s super low and almost no water at all. The phone in the room is broken and can't even be use to call front desk. The worst part is this hotel is Haunted.!!! My husband being touch by ghost in the bathroom not once but 4 times. He thought it's water that touch his skin, but when he looked down the toilet, there is no water. He jumped and turn on the light and go back sit down again on the toilet. And he felt the touch again. That's when rushing out and realized this place is haunted. We stayed in room 909

I would never come back to a place like that racial profiling someone and homophobic and lying about what payment method they want and being a manager of a facility like that she lied and said she wanted a credit card not at debit card that we don't use or take credit card but the whole time and the website is Dave takes credit card and debit cards it's written in the agreement paper and then she told me she said if the credit card don't have my name on it that I can't get a room and my white friend came with me and we came together so by his skin color he was authorized to get a room but I had to go to another motel to get a room and she refused to give me a room and she told me that she didn't send charge my card because I didn't have a credit card but she lied she committed a crying and she slide my card and put my money in limbo I was on vacation and she made sure I got off the premises because she was a boss and she feel like she's untouchable but I'm following these papers on Monday and against her even that she gave me my money back because you don't do black people like that because one thing about it slavery is over and you don't do nobody like that racial profiling somebody and homophobic and calling me sir and I'm a transgender woman I have I have the same gender on my license like she has on hers but she don't want to say sorry and she wait 20 minutes and then she say sorry because it's not in her heart to say sorry and I want her name and she didn't want to give me her name and I said hey I said well I can take it off the front of your picture they look like they wanted to jump on me all three of the people behind the desk and so they have a mob and that's how they act and so I would never recommend nobody there and I would never come back there because I already see they think everybody is from the streets and I have a big house in Lancaster she probably don't even have a house but yet she...

muy buen hotel, no es un hotel nuevo y requiere ciertas modificaciones, entiendo que es un hotel viejo con aspecto algo vintage pero podrian mejorar ciertos detalles en mobiliario que ya se ve viejo y sin mantenimiento, en mi caso la cortina de la ventana del baño estaba rota y olia muy pero muy mal, en la habitacion hay un modem en el techo con focos prendidos que no te dejan dormir ya que te deslumbran en la noche y en la television muchos canales se ven pesimo, la imagen se congela y se pixelea haciendo imposible ver el canal, y esto de la TV es la segunda vez que me sucede en el hotel, por oto lado ofrecen pan, cafe y te por las malñanas de muy buena calidad y la atencion del personal es excelente, asi como la ubicacion del hotel, otro punto importante es que el elevador tarda demasiado en subir y bajar. en general es un muy buen hotel por su personal atento, limpieza y ubicacion insuperable Very good hotel. It is not a new property and could benefit from some renovations. I understand that it's an older hotel with a somewhat vintage feel, but there are certain details that could definitely be improved, especially some of the furniture, which looks worn out and poorly maintained. In my case, the bathroom window curtain was torn and had a very strong unpleasant odor. There is also a modem mounted on the ceiling in the room with bright indicator lights that stay on all night, making it difficult to sleep because they are very distracting. In addition, many of the TV channels have poor reception—the picture freezes and becomes pixelated, making them impossible to watch. This is actually the second time I've experienced this issue at the hotel. On the positive side, they offer complimentary bread, coffee, and tea every morning, all of very good quality. The staff is outstanding—friendly, attentive, and professional—and the hotel's location is excellent. Another point worth mentioning is that the elevator is extremely slow, both going up and down. Overall, it is a very good hotel thanks to its attentive staff, cleanliness, and unbeatable location.

Location, parking garage is literally across the street, the muni (train) is about 6min away as well as time square, close go restaurants and cafe. Neighborhood is clean and feels safe at night. Staff are very welcoming, they’ll hold your luggage for a long time while you venture out after check out. Beds are really comfortable.

We stayed at the King George for almost a month while we were in town for work. The staff is amazing. Abdallah, Jimmy, Janelle and Sebastian as well as Yolanda and Jaime made sure we had everything we needed. They solved any issues quickly and professionally. Our room was kept clean and I really wish I knew how they launder their towels because they are the softest ever. I interacted with several other staff members whose names I can’t remember however everyone was courteous and treated us like family. The morning pastries and coffee or teas are a great bonus!

Overall we had a good experience. The hotel was unique and the staff was friendly. We liked the comfortable beds and SUPER comfortable pillows. We were booked there by a third party so the things we didn't care for couldn't be controlled. I didn't love the location, or the no A/C.

Even though the room had no view, it was overlooking a tin roof covered with laundry lint, the room itself was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Both it and the bathroom were spotless.

As I mentioned, the room had no view, but that was not a problem for us. In a built up city block, a view is not always possible. Everything else was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Quaint aesthetic -The spiral staircase was fun to walk down, and the LOCATION is GREAT! Close to BART, around the corner from UNION SQUARE. Nice to have tea and lemon poppyseed cake in the morning.

I was flying in late and needed a place to stay for one night before heading to an event. I just wanted something clean and secure, and most importantly that could check me in after midnight. King George ended up being a great choice, with a comfortable, clean room at a good price. The hotel also had a lot of charm and unique character that made it a little more interesting than a typical modern hotel, which I like. The 24-hour Pinecrest Diner across the street was a nice bonus for my situation too. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here if you need something in the area!

la ubicacion buena, la habitacion no muy grande pero esta bien, algo ruidosa y fria, la cama muy alta, y yo ni mi marido somos chicos, nos costaba sentarnos, los ultimos 3 dias estuvo con un problema el elevador fue dificil subir 6 pisos, nos dieron una pequeña devolucion, el desayuno es solo un Cafe con panes dulces.

Subir 6 pisos a pie, y mas con mi marido que estaba con baja movilidad. Y cuando uno anda de turismo llega cansado, esos 6 pisos eran eternos, por suerte no estaba en el noveno. Yo selecciono hoteles con desayuno, y este no decia que era solo un cafe con masas dulces.

Place was good but the people are better. Flight was cancelled and we had to stay last second. Jimmy checked us in at night and offered to have extended check out the next day, as our new flight was late at night. In the morning, Luis was kind enough to extend it longer. Wonderful staff and we will definitely return. Room accommodations were just fine. Thank you.

There were spiders, mold and the view I had when I looked out my window was a wall with a bunch of bullet holes. I did not feel safe; I was there for work and was not able to move to a different room or hotel.

I made use of the lobby in the King George Hotel to discuss projects with colleagues. The people that I met with volunteered that they enjoyed meeting there and that the space was very pleasant. The hotel staff was extremely considerate while we met. The staff overall were remarkably pleasant and helpful. I didn't take note of names, but the gentleman and ladies who are at the front desk in the evenings were especially helpful. I stayed in a twin room that was small. I was provided with a coffee maker and a small refrigerator when I asked. The hotel was constructed in 1914 and has a nice historic feel. I am sure that I enjoyed staying there more than I would have enjoyed staying at the conference hotel, which is just like all conference hotels.

I’ve spent many nights in hotels around the world, and my recent stay at King George Hotel truly stood out. The staff were exceptional—consistently attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The food was outstanding, and every interaction reflected a high standard of hospitality. With over 100 hotel nights a year, I don’t say this lightly: this was an amazing experience. The location of the Jing George couldn't be better for theatre at ACT. It’s also very close to Union Square. The staff members are top notch: warm, gracious , and helpful. Amazingly good price for downtown San Francisco. Yes, small room but comfortable. Good breakfast of pastries although lacking juice.

Stayed here for quick overnight for work as my usual picks were either sold out or insanely expensive due to a conference. The hotel is in a fine location, a little sketchy if you wander in the direction of O'Farrell, but it's very walkable to Union Square and the FiDi which is what I needed. I checked in later and the staff was extremely nice and friendly. The lobby, although small, seemed clean, well-maintained and like it had a few amenities. My the room was small and dimly lit, with a window facing another building and a courtyard. Because of this, it was incredibly noisy in my room, with sounds reverberating upwards anytime anyone was in the courtyard. The curtains didn't close completely and the building across the way had its lights on all night, so the room didn't get completely dark. The bathroom had a lot of wear and tear, and was freezing due to the way the window was set up. My biggest issue was the radiator, which literally banged and made noise ALL NIGHT long, to the point where it severely affected my sleep. I tried turning off the knob but that didn't seem to work, so I spent the night listening to hissing and banging, being woken up every hour or so. Without this issue, the hotel would have been a 3 star stay for me particularly because of the lovely staff, but I would never stay here again knowing what I know about the noise.

Every time we visit San Francisco, we stay at the King George Hotel near Union Square. The staff are friendly and welcoming and readily assist with providing maps, recommendations, calling cabs and tending to any special needs. The lobby is decorated in a British theme and rooms are clean and beds comfortable. The Hotel is several blocks away from union square and there are many good restaurants, shops within walking distance. We’ll come here again.

Cute room, clean and nicely appointed. Small but very comfortable and has everything we needed. Love the lounge with pool table, fossball, darts, etc. I’m bad at pool but we had fun doing badly together. Would definitely stay again.

No AC and no thermostat. If you stay here when it is warm out, be prepared to sleep with the open window which lets in the significant street noise.

They held me out of the property for hours on countless occasions because of a payment I had clearly made and they claimed not to have received. I was made to use my card countless times, they are still holding on to my money- 360 dollars.The rooms were very dirty and the noise at night was something else. Well,, it is located on the streets so.i was exposed to all sorts. The pastry servings were timely and okay. I like that water was readily available. I had to go downstairs each time I needed to heat up my food but they provided a fridge. Overall, it didn't meet my expectations

We loved our stay at King George Hotel, staff was helpful and kind, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is great with walking distance to the Marina, cable car, and the restaurants are very good around. We particularly liked the ambiance of the lobby where you can relax on a couch or play pool/darts, and refill your water.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at the King George Hotel! The staff were so wonderful and kind. Even though the photos looked good I was a little worried about the rooms and amenities because it’s an older building, but they have definitely put a lot of heart and investment into upgrading things and the room was very nice and clean! I booked two beds online and when we checked in I asked, "That's two bed, correct?" The man checking us in said, "Of course" but when we got to the room, it was one bed. When I tried to rectify the issue the manager showed no interest in trying to fix the issue. Even I offered to pay the difference to get two beds she kept going on about why it happened and the we booked through a third party so you couldn't do anything. At no point in time did she show any courtesy or willingness to fix the issue. When I asked for her name, she said, "I am not giving it to you." It was horribly unprofessional and rather than fix any issue she made everything worse by threatening not to help us and then canceling our reservation. She was a horrible person. We ended up staying in a much better hotel. Avoid this one. The area is unsafe at night and the customer service was awful.

The location is close to BART and MUNI and where I needed to be fore work. The room is a nice size and very clean.

One slow creaky elevator, narrow spiral staircse makes it hard to take the stairs and carry bags at the same time, mattress and pillows adequate but not great. The shower gel pump didn't work. I couldn't get the captions to work on the TV. No protein available in the free breakfast, But I like this place. I like it better when it's $110 a night than when it's $200 a night.

Room was small and the beds were small. There was no heater working and it was really cold. Had to call the front desk with the phone in the room. The phone didn’t work. Had to call from personal cell phone for them to pick up. Space heater was provided which helped but for the price (1,300+ a night) it was not great. Breakfast was limited. Non dairy milks weren’t available as well as simple things like maple syrup. Carpets in the room were super dirty and no sleepers were provided during the stay. I would not recommend staying at this place.
