I visited with my family (group of 10 plus a child) and we absolutely loved it! The hotel felt more like a home and the staff was extremely friendly. All the rooms were very clean and the breakfast was delicious. The location is just steps away from the plaza (super convenient) but still very quiet. I would 100% recommend to any family or couple visiting Patzcuaro!

My stay was to visit Pátzcuaro with my family, but mainly for the Cantoya Balloon Festival. ​Both the hotel and the "casitas"/mini- apartments are in a great location, super close to Plaza Vasco de Quiroga—just 1 and 2 blocks away, respectively. I only had breakfast at the hotel, but the service was very fast, delicious and the staff were really kind, and the place is beautifully decorated. The rooms look nice from the outside and are quite spacious. ​I stayed in one of the casitas, called Casa Cielo. It was lovely: it has two terraces (one in the front and one in the back), a living room with a TV and heater, a sofa, a bathroom with a bathtub, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a kitchen. Everything was super clean and well-equipped. The views from both terraces were beautiful, especially at night. ​Plus, we had 24/7 access to both the house and the hotel, as they gave us keys for both locations. ​I would highly recommend it!

Casa Encantada is a perfect hotel! The rooms are beautiful with lots of character- the entire facility is beautiful. We loved the artistic touches that are throughout the entire facility. Rooms have everything you need- a smart tv, fridge, microwave. Our bed was very comfortable and our room was quiet. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is included and is very good. Victoria, the owner is lovely and made us feel welcome. The location of the hotel is very good. The stay in Casa Encantada really enhanced our stay in Patzcuaro and we will stay there again.

From start to finish the hospitality was evident. Beautiful grounds, beautiful room, helpful staff, gracious hostess. Breakfast each morning was a bonus! Highly recommend for proximity to central historic district.

An authentic casa experience, lovely courtyards with fountains, flowers, artworks and relaxing corners. Spacious, well kept guest rooms. Ours had a fireplace, much appreciated. Hot water showers, great pressure. Rooms, bathrooms, all areas very clean. The staff members were all truly wonderful, attentive, friendly and hospitable. Loved the breakfast choices, cooked to order. Victoria Ryan, the artist owner, greeted and spoke with each guest. 5 minute walk to the vibrant plaza with shops, restaurants, ice cream and sweet stands. Casa Encantada is an experience not to be missed.

The Casa Encantada experience is not to be missed especially if you enjoy authenticity of a Mexican house with courtyards, artworks, fountains and flowers. The ambience is tranquil, relaxed. Incredible staff, friendly and attentive. Guest rooms are spacious, well cared for with comfy beds. Hot water in a large shower is welcome after walkabout day. Breakfast is cooked to order and nicely served. The artist owner made a point to greet and speak to each guest,

I had heard about Hotel Casa Encantada for years from friends, and reading reviews. Nothing prepared me for the generosity, hospitality, and the overall tranquility of this oasis. I would recommend this hotel for the garden and artwork alone, but the attentive service and genuine welcome from owner/host, Victoria, really puts this establishment in a league of its own. Our room was perfect for a romantic getaway, or for us ample room with friends. Ideal as it featured king size beds, full kitchen, and a washer/dryer. The proximity to both local and regional attractions was the icing on the cake! We'll be back! Gracias todos!

The staff is friendly, welcoming and informative. Mornings start with your choice of a freshly made full breakfast that chef makes individually for you before you set out for a delightful adventure in Pátzcuaro.

We loved Casa Encantada. I did this trip with a friend, we visited Patzcuaro and the surrounding villages, we felt safe the whole time. I’m already planning my next trip and stay at Casa Encantada, this time with my mom! The place is lovely and the staff is very friendly and helpful. ¡Gracias Casa Encantada!

Casa Encantada is a treasure! It's a beautiful hotel in an outstanding location that's just steps from Plaza Grande in Patzcuaro. The hotel grounds are an excellent place to relax and explore, and they are maintained with a great eye for detail. The hotel owner is an excellent host who offers thoughtful advice and suggestions. Victoria's staff is wonderfully kind and attentive. I spent my time there thoroughly relaxed, rested and eager to return and continue exploring the area.

What a lovely place to call home for a few days. My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here and couldn't have been more pleased. It is located very close to everything, the rooms and beds are very comfortable and the staff are amazing. If you need another reason to stay then don't miss the incredible made to order breakfast! Fantastic!

I love this hotel! All the positive reviews are right…all the staff are just lovely, breakfast is delicious, and the bed was super comfortable. Earlier reviews have suggested issues with wifi but I had no problems at all. I would happily stay here again.

Your Air B&B was so lovely and welcoming that it made our stay exceptional. Your staff is very impressive, Sunday Breakfast was all hands on deck. All smiling faces and truly happy to be there. So much so, that I needed a picture of your work family. Your Chef had it all dialed in. His experience and his recipes had me asking for his special chilaquilles sauce that he made from scratch. Coffee was always ready at 7:00 AM as promised. I have raved to my friends about your place and some have already been there. Thank you Victoria and Luis for all your helpfulness in making our adventure one to remember. So many suggestions from places to eat and points of interest. We felt pampered. Thank you.

We discovered Casa Encantada on our first visit to Michoacan and have been returning regularly ever since. What do we love about it, you ask? Everything, the perfect central location, the old colonial atmosphere, yummy breakfasts, beautiful relaxing patio, helpful staff, and most of all our host, Victoria and her adorable dog Leah. Come here once and you will be back, too!

A beautiful place full of style and character. Stunning room and a super kind staff. An in the know, kind of place to stay. Breakfast was outstanding.

My family had a lovely time and this quiet, peaceful, oasis just half a block away from the grand plaza. The room was even prettier than in the photos and the temperature was very regulated given the thick walls. It wasn't hot at all, and we didn't need the heater either. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Luis gave us directions on where to go in town and how to take the local transportation to nearby towns like Santa Clara del Cobre or the lake, as well as offered a driver to take us to/from Morelia Airport and visiting Tzintzuntzan and a few other small towns around the lake. Juan was a very nice and friendly driver, but not a tour guide, just to set expectations. Other nice extras: When I wasn't feeling well, Luis gave me some natural grapefruit extract drops to help my stomach. The breakfasts were delicious and filling, which allowed us to save money. Honestly if they served lunch or dinner I'm sure we would have eaten there as well. The other guests seemed to be a lot of American expats that now live in Mexico, as well as some other older travelers. We were the only family and the staff said that they rarely see children as young as our daughter. She had a blast being the center of attention! Some things to note when traveling with a baby or toddler: - bring your own crib - there was a shared mini fridge outside our room (Poeta) to store milk & other small items - there's a high chair in the dining room - you can bring leftovers into your room and housekeeping can take it when tidying up the room, or just bring it back to the kitchen - the room is fairly childproofed aside from cords and outlets, so we didn't worry about sharp objects, etc. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Patzcuaro!

Really good, full breakfast, great location. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms, suites really, are spacious, quiet, private and comfortable. And if you want to get out in the fresh air, there are lots of comfortable seating areas in the courtyards.

This was my second trip in 3 years. Victoria Ryan is the consumate host and her staff is gracious, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served in the dining room and is crazy good. Our room (Angel) was spacious, comfortable and clean. Location can't be beat. We had a wonderfully relaxing time as Victoria's guests.

I had a heavenly time at la casa encantada! The patios and gardens surrounding the rooms are filled with plants and intriguing pieces of art, creating an atmosphere both relaxing and inspiring. My room was extremely comfortable and quiet, and the price—which included delicious breakfasts—was entirely reasonable. The location, just off the main plaza, was perfect: well lighted and with good sidewalks.

I'm so glad my Mexican cousins knew about this wonderful hotel. Serene, quiet and elegant, it has the most beautiful architecture and gardens. Everything about it was clean and comfortable and invited me to relax. I was very impressed that they were able to serve the breakfast simultaneously to everyone, even though we all ordered different things. The bed and lighting and temperature of the room was comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and functional. I also appreciate that the owners and staff are ecologically conscious. As a person visiting from the USA, this place was perfect. Victoria was able to tell me anything I needed to know.

Victoria runs a lovely and welcoming hotel, so close to Centro that we could easily walk to all the charming shops, restaurants and parks we wanted to visit. The hotel is filled with history and local color. The stay included a delicious breakfast and we found the other guests very interesting as well. Five stars!

Hotel Casa Encantada is one of the best properties I have ever stayed at for so many reasons. The sleeping rooms are spacious with good sized closets and are immaculate and cleaned daily with new fresh towels. The communal spaces arebeautifully designed with good art and and interesting regional objects on display. The beautiful kitchen is a designers delight, open to all, and the staff that prepares the breakfasts came up with new and different juices and egg preparations daily. The front office staff eagerly arranges tours and transportation at reasonable prices without markup, The on site owner and host, Victoria, is one of the most gracious people I have ever met in addition to being one of the more interesting woman I encountered on the trip. She has created a unique environment which draws repeat visitors. I had a fabulous stay.

Truly enchanting from the minute you enter off the street into an art filled and brightly planted peaceful garden courtyards ...with rooms opening directly onto courtyards. My stay included breakfast, which helped us start the day without having to think about it. The place is also pet-friendly, so we could travel as a pack and share a very comfortable room together.

The Wi-Fi could definitely be improved. I was travelling for work and it was very difficult for both me and the other travellers to get a stable connection. Parking outside the hotel was also somewhat challenging, as there are very few spaces available.

Hotel Casa Encantada sits in the middle of the historical and cultural center of Pátzcuaro, called Centro. You are 2 blocks away from Plaza Grande, where local families and tourists enjoy the abundant benches and shade. The amenities at this hotel are high quality. Potable water is provided in the room and hot water was abundant in your private bathroom. City noice is minimal and when you are in your room for the night, it is very quiet from 11 pm to 6:30 am. The room was decorated artistically, the air was fresh and the living environment was very clean. Lots of blankets were available. The bed I used was firm in a good way. Great nights sleep greeted me each day. All the rooms face two beautiful gardens that are filled with benches, tables and chairs. These areas are like minni art museums. The staff are very friendly and professional. A couple of the staff are fluent English speakers. It helps to have basic Spanish proficiency, but you can do just fine with a translating program on your phone, as I proved over my 6 visits to Patzquaro. The provided breakfasts are faboulus, Fresh fruit, eggs and sides provided a incredibly tasty start to the day and were not over filling. Daily cleaning services are provided. Gratuities for cleaning and cooking staff are encouraged by management and are shared amoung all in those departments. There is a staff person who is present on the site each night. I felt very safe at this hotel. Unlike more popular tourists areas in Mexico, you will find that most of the other tourists are Mexicans. There are plenty of great restaurants and food stands to keep you busy for many days. Getting to these eateries along with visting numerous shops and historical sites in Centro is easily done on foot. The newly rebuilt market provides fresh produce, meat and dairy products, clothing and crafts from the local area. To travel out of Centro the cab and combi systems works great. Visiting the number of fascinating communities surrounding Lake Patzcuaro is worth the adventure. Cabs and limited English speaking tours are available. The mountains and lakes provide hiking, biking and natural history experiences. The best reason to visit Patzquaro and stay at Hotel Casa Encantada is to meet the wonderful people of this area and learn about their history and current culture. Hotel Casa Encantada is the perfect place to center this adventure out of!

From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming, so friendly and helpful. They answered many of our questions and assisted with tours and any travel arrangements. Our room was so lovely; spacious, clean , beautifully decorated with special touches. We used the fireplace every day as room was chilly but warmed up quickly.

This was our third stay at Casa Encantada, and we keep returning because it is perfect in every way. Location could not be better, the decor is beautiful, very comfortable rooms and beds, and best of all is the staff, Luis, Anny, and Samantha. It's all due to the owner and resident, Victoria, who makes this all happen.

Lovely place and people, location- location, nice breakfast, spacious rooms. The weak spot is the internet, not ideal for working, sometimes not even good enough for browsing. parking spaces in front of the hotel are limited.

Casa Encantada is an oasis. We have been returning to it for the past few winters- the hotel and also the apartments. The place is beautiful, gorgeous art, great location, fabulous staff! The breakfast (included) is delicious! And the morning conversations and connections with other visitors delightful. The garden courtyard is a lush, peaceful place to relax and renew. Victoria Ryan has lived in Mexico for decades and is the perfect host to connect you to local highlights, restaurants, events. The hotel offers incredible massage and fabulous tour guides. Patzcuaro is a sweet and welcoming destination. I feel safer here than I do in the states. Even venturing out in the surrounding villages with a guide, I feel so comfortable. I'm frequently struck by the friendliness and warm welcome of people here.

This is the fourth year I have visited Pátzcuaro and the third time I have stayed at Casa Encantada. Besides being clean, beautiful, and comfortable, Victoria and the staff make this a home away from home. They are always welcoming, ready to make a recommendation or give assistance. Pátzcuaro is a lovely, safe place to visit and staying here makes it even more enjoyable.

A perfect stay: it feels like a former estate made up of lush courtyards, and all spaces inside & out, filled with authentic cool Mexican trappings, artwork, or gardens. This wonderful boutique hotel was recommended by a friend who winters in Patzcuaro. The rooms are unique and well appointed with comfortable beds and beautiful artwork. The staff is amazing and the breakfasts were outstanding. The location is ideal, just off the main square with plenty of excellent restaurants, shops, and art galleries. We will be back!

This is a beautiful property with excellent made-to-order breakfast. All the staff (except the general manager) were really kind, thoughtful and responsive. I was sick half of the time in this hotel and the young assistant manager brought me a herbal liquid to help me. The night crew were really helpful.

The general manager Luis! He needs to be replaced! My travel partner/friend had booked this hotel through booking.com and sent the link to me to make the deposit. Booking.com separated our reservation into two different rooms under two different reservation numbers. Instead of managing this easily in his office, Luis had us call booking.com ourselves ...... which was a 45 minutes on hold call just to be told that the hotel had already taken care of the issue. Also this is not really a dog friendly hotel as there is NO WHERE for your dog to pee. Even when you go out the hotel door, there is no grass for blocks. Luis stated that "most people leave their dogs in the car." There's also no parking at this hotel.

The free breakfast is excellent! The staff is very professional and friendly.

Casa Encantada continues to impress! We just returned for a 2nd visit (5 years apart) and Victoria's staff and their wonderful service remain top notch. Rooms of various sizes and amenities are clean, well kept and the morning breakfast included is as good (or better) than most restaurants in the area. Great location near the jardin and plaza. Hotel was quiet and bed was very comfortable.

Whenever I pass through Patzcuaro I stay at Casa Encantada. The owner, Victoria, could not be more accomodating or delightful. And their superb breakfast always sends me on my way in a great mood. I could not recommend this delightful stay more highly!!

The bed was a bit on the hard side for us. We were disappointed that a tour guide arranged by the front desk 5 days in advance, cancelled at the last moment.

Fantastic details regarding comfort and service. Amazing breakfast and the staff could not have been sweeter and more helpful. I didn't want to leave! The bedding was the best I've ever slept in too. Wonderful location. Everything was perfect. A special Thank You to Luis!

Enjoy being honored and special at Hotel Casa Encantada. Victoria and Luis provide for your comfort and needs while you visit this charming hotel one-half block from the main square. We visited Casa Encantada for 4 evenings during the Christmas holiday and all of the staff were warm and helpful. All of Encantada’s rooms are warm and inviting. Pátzcuaro is cold in the winter, and many of the rooms have fireplaces and even bed warmers. Pay attention to the details of the rooms as you make your reservations. A special room is set aside for breakfast in the morning, and available for guest use. There are two courtyards for guests with wine and cocktails in the afternoons.

Loved our stay at casa Sol, a casita which is part of Hotel Encantado. We were thrilled that we were able to bring our three small dogs. The casita el sol is cozy and every need is taken care of. Small microwavable foot warmers, which I loved. Gorgeous decor. A cozy fire place that made the casita immediately feel like home. Fully equipped kitchen. Great products in the bathroom. ( shampoo, conditioner , body wash) Beautiful artwork. All furniture and artwork is beautiful. We LOVED it. Not to mention a short walk to the main square. Congratulations to the owner who is managing a very friendly and helpful staff and for having created such a gorgeous space for us to enjoy. Grateful !

The breakfast was good. I wish they would have offered some breakfast meats. I am NOT A VEGETARIAN.

Tv was way to small. I couldn't hardly see it. Also, no on site parking. It was difficult to unload. No help from the staff to unload or load up

The location is ideal. One block from the main central square. It is a quiet, beautiful hotel with art and friendly staff. It's a great reprieve for calm. The breakfast is lovely. The beds are super cozy - big fluffy comforters, flannel sheets, bed warmers if you want them. We have loved staying here over the years. In my opinion, it's set up for beauty, calm and the treasure that it is. We traveled with our son and another family for spring break and we were too rambunctious for staying here.

What a beautiful hotel! The staff was so accommodating and helped us set up a tour that was just what we wanted. The breakfast was fabulous as well. The bed was very comfortable. We plan to cone back again soon

My husband and I traveled together. After reading about Casa Encantada for years and wanting to stay, we finally were able to! We had visited two years ago on a guided tour from Zihuatanejo but were only able to spend a few hours in Patzcuaro and had been hoping to return. We loved Patzcuaro and our stay in a truly unique landmark hotel. We booked the Colonial room. The rate includes a large &delicious daily breakfast (lots of eggs) and we enjoyed the creativity by the chef and excellent staff. Everyone working there is the best. It was an honor to meet and get to know the owner, the incomparable Victoria Ryan and her perfect dog Lea. Great location. A highlight was a 3 hour historical walking tour with Jamie, owner of Patzcuaro Magical Tours which you can book through the hotel. He truly made history come alive. He offers a variety of tours around the area. We will make every to return another time!
