Es un Hotel emblemático que hemos estado varias veces. No obstante este año no nos ha gustado.

La habitación que nos dieron contaba con una ducha estrecha y resbaladiza. Somos personas de una cierta edad. Estuvimos en un par de restaurantes bien pero el desayuno está servido por una mezcla de personal con experiencia y otra que no y se nota. Por el precio que tienes y siendo socio de HYATT me da la impresión que el hotel no está a la altura de lo que estos hoteles representa. La puntuación que tiene global de 9.5 me permito dudar de la forma de cálculo.

This was a beautiful historic hotel with a great location. We were under-impressed with the actual room given the price. But having said that - the service was phenomenal and the amenities were great.

Despite a small hiccup at the start, he quickly turned things around, going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Warm, professional, and attentive, he clearly cared about our experience. Nothing was too much trouble, and his attention to detail and service were outstanding—exactly what you expect from a hotel of this calibre, if not better. As long-time guests of over ten years, we know staff like Alvaro are what make the hotel so special. He transformed a potentially disappointing start into a wonderful stay. A real credit to the Hôtel du Palais and Hyatt, he deserves full recognition for his excellent service. Thank you, Alvaro, for making our stay so memorable.

Beautiful, opulent charm. Excellent location and views. Warm and professional staff. Excellent concierge. Delicious dining at their gastronomic restaurant and Sunset restaurant. Comfortable and very clean. Very thoughtful supply of special glasses to view the eclipse.

The room itself was comfortable and pleasant, but I was genuinely disappointed with the shower. It was incredibly small to the point that I could barely move inside it. There was also virtually no space to place a toiletry or bath bag, which made the whole shower experience quite uncomfortable and inconvenient. For a hotel of this level and reputation, I honestly expected a much more spacious and practical bathroom. The shower was a significant disappointment and, in my opinion, does not reflect the standard I would expect from Hôtel du Palais.

Extraordinary location and atmosphere. The hotel is really a piece of art and the rooms with ocean view are incredibly beautiful and large, everything is super clean and crisp. The entire staff is super friendly and very helpful. Overall an incredible experience that will stay with us for a lifetime.

The Hôtel du Palais is undeniably a magnificent property with beautiful grounds and an exceptional setting. However, the grandeur of the building is completely let down by the service. From check-in to check-out (July 30 – August 1), we spent over €3000 for our 2 Night stay. Where you have to book and wait to use the out door sitting areas, evening if you are staying in the hotel. We found the customer service to be virtually non-existent, with staff who were surprisingly unhelpful. On top of that, the food and room rates are hugely inflated. Save your money—Biarritz has so many fantastic restaurants that offer far superior food and service at a fraction of the price.

Excellent above & beyond service, beautiful comfortable rooms, nice bar, lovely pool, beautiful spa (and indoor pool). Even the beach is surprisingly nice. Biarritz itself is nothing special but I would return just for the hotel

One of the most indulgent vacations we’ve ever had! The location was stunning, the pool on the edge of the beach was perfect, the staff friendly and attentive and the historic hotel was beautifully appointed. Food quality was high though menus naturally cater to regional tastes (fewer options if you don’t like seafood). Overall, it was well worth the price!

I had a very disappointing experience at the restaurant at Hôtel du Palais Biarritz. The day before our reservation, I specifically requested a seafront table. I was told that seating would depend on availability when we arrived, which I completely understood and accepted. When we arrived the next day, there were plenty of empty seafront tables. I politely asked if we could be seated at one of them. Laura, the hostess, said she would check with her manager, then returned and told us those tables were “reserved.” This was confusing because the day before I had been told that tables were not reserved and that seating would simply depend on availability. The interaction felt cold, dismissive, and unnecessarily hostile. I left with the impression that we may have been racially profiled or otherwise judged unfairly. I cannot say for certain that this was the reason, but it is how the experience made us feel. I do want to acknowledge that our server, Anna, was polite, professional, and attentive throughout our meal. She treated us with kindness, and her excellent service was the only positive aspect of our visit. Whether it was poor management, inconsistent policies, or something else, this experience completely ruined what should have been a special meal. If you want to be treated fairly and not feel judged before you’ve even sat down, I would recommend looking elsewhere. For a hotel of this reputation, I expected professionalism, consistency, and respectful treatment of all guests. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

Bâtisse extraordinaire, situation exceptionnelle. Le plaisir de se retrouver dans un endroit hors norme, avec un personnel souriant, efficace et à l'écoute. Un restaurant dans une superbe Rotonde avec petit déjeuner et magnifique dîner, digne d'un étoilé Michelin. Un restaurant sur une superbe terrasse avec une carte plus légère mais tout aussi bonne.

La salle de bain avait un grand besoin de rafraichissement: Elle disposait de tout le nécessaire mais était l'une des dernières à n'avoir pas été refaite.

It’s History.

We had a nice stay overall, but for what we paid, this hotel was wildly overpriced. We spent nearly $3,500 for our stay, yet the level of service felt average at best. Throughout France and Spain we stayed at several hotels that cost a fraction of the price—some less than a quarter of what we paid here—and every one of them offered significantly better service and value. One of our biggest frustrations was that we booked in person the day of arrival and were never informed that the hotel was hosting private events that would take over much of the property. As a result, the pool closed early and we were unable to use the main outdoor restaurant. Had we known this beforehand, it would have influenced our decision to stay. As soon as we arrived and took our first shower, the bathroom flooded. We called the front desk and were told someone would come to fix it, but no one ever did. Breakfast service was also surprisingly poor. On both mornings, our coffee didn’t arrive until we had essentially finished eating. Waiting that long for an average espresso at a luxury hotel was disappointing. The room itself was another letdown. At over $1,300 per night, it was very small and had no meaningful view. Pool service was equally slow, and the glass of white wine we ordered arrived warm and wasn’t even a full pour. To be fair, the location is excellent, the grounds are beautiful, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and courteous. Unfortunately, none of that justified the price. Had this been a mid-range hotel, many of these issues would have been easier to overlook. But at this price point, the overall experience simply didn’t come close to meeting expectations. It’s a beautiful property, but the value just isn’t there.

We passed through Biarritz 9 years ago on our way from San Sebastian to Bordeaux. We saw this hotel back then and vowed to stay here one day. Well the time finally came. We saved up our Hyatt points and got the Ambassador Suite. Later we had more people come so we were able to change our reservation to the 2 br family suite and only pay another $100 a night. Helps that we're globalists. Check-in was wonderful. The guy even gave us a quick tour of the hotel then brought us to our suite. Our suite was so beautiful. 2 br, 2 ba with a parlor/living room in the middle. There was a bottle of wine, fruit with a note from the manager recognizing our globalist status which was nice touch. The pool was amazing. Staff was hit or miss-nobody really comes around to take orders which was weird. You had to flag down an attendant or go up to the front where come in. I ordered food/drinks by the pool and it was fine. Pool menu was expensive ($42 for burger, $12 for bottled water) but it was expected. Breakfast was the best I've ever had in a European hotel and we've stayed at some nice ones. Lots of pastries, deserts, cheeses, meats, potatoes, fruits, prosecco, juices, yogurts etc plus hot dishes to order off the menu. Waitstaff was very attentive in the restaurant and the view was top notch. We ate dinner at the terrace restaurant by the pool and it was good. We didn't really want anything off menu so asked if could get burger and shrimp caesar salad and chef said ok. Again, great waitstaff. There's a team at concierge desk and they were so helpful with restaurant reservations, questions. The person that stood out was the housekeeping staff. The lady we had went above and beyond bringing us extra soaps, water etc. Nightly turn down was much appreciated. Can't really find anything wrong with this hotel. It's expensive but worth the splurge. We're already planning to come back soon. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The hotel is very beautiful and has great location to get everywhere by foot. The stuff is very professional and eager to help in every situation. Espesially I would like to highlight concierge service- consultants work fantastically and arrange everything one could desire while keeping in mind all your preferences. Restaurants offer different cuisine so anyone can find its favorite food.

The gym is large and nice but i would add more stuff for fuctional training since there is only good cardio and pilates zone. It wasn't convenient for me to do fuctional in hotel's gym so I started going to La Loge because it has all necessary stuff.

Fantastic building! The rooms and service were also excellent. Dinner was a bit mixed some dished were great others just okay.

I would avoid this hotel at all costs. It is such a pity as the location is beautiful but the customer service is abysmal. To be honest the doorman on the gate sets the tone for the entire hotel, extremely rude. I have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels that are far superior with wonderful staff. Stay somewhere else in Biarritz!

Absolutely spectacular hotel from the setting to the polite and accommodating staff and the city of Biarritz as the backdrop. Having stayed at high-end hotels all over the world, I can definitively say this experience was magical and without parallel for my tastes. You felt welcome and transported in time with this palace by the sea.

The best - but you do pay for it. staff friendliness and service very high. The rest meets to level of luxury to be expected. Location is unbetable.

We recently stayed at Du Palais on a work/personal trip June 15 through June 18. The staff were extremely accommodating to our last-minute reservation for our three rooms. We had some special request for our visit and the staff made us feel as if we were at our home away from home. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Biarritz. Nesma and team went above and beyond with assisting our group and were personable and so warm/friendly.

This hotel is truly wonderful. Yes it is expensive but you really do get what you pay for. The hotel itself is wonderful, beautiful to look at - the gardens are immaculate with beautful views of the sea, perfect for watching the sunset. The decor inside the hotel is magnificent. The restaurants and bars are all lovely with plenty of choice for everyone. Breakfast is amazing and those views of the sea, wow, you can’t put a price on that But what makes this hotel stand out from anything else is the staff they are really friendly, incredibly professional, super smart. There is nothing that they won’t do for you constantly with a smile on their face. They really are a credit to the hotel. If you get the chance to stay or visit you won’t be disappointed.

I am very torn about this hotel, but can’t help but keep going back to the fact the rate for the suite we stayed at is upwards of EUR 1,750 per night. The hotel building is beautiful, the grounds lovingly manicured, the location is superb and the history interesting. The Ambassador Suite we got assigned, on the ground floor, was certainly large, looked the part and overlooked the Bay of Biscay. The sound of the sea was superbly masked by the highly engineered windows, when closed. The curtains didn’t quite close properly, so it was hard to make the room entirely dark. There were no USB ports or easy-to-reach sockets, so one had to climb under the bedside tables to plug any device chargers in. The bathrooms were the biggest disappointment – the sanitaryware was the cheapest, most basic type you can find and totally didn’t fit into the surroundings. There was only one toilet in the whole room (by the living room), as the bathroom didn’t come with one. The pipes under the sinks were exposed and the shower cubicle had fairly extensive mould. The toilet room had a bizarre huge set of empty shelving. Definitely not a luxury vibe. We had some cocktails in the hotel’s bar, which were delicious and priced accordingly. The breakfast spread was extensive and the made-to-order items very good. The pool areas were great, both indoor and outdoor. The steam room was broken. Staff were efficient, but no one even remotely went out of their way to provide a personalised service or be particularly friendly. The turn down service was bizarre, missing one side of the bed on one night and not closing the curtains on either of the nights we stayed. I would also not have expected to have to debate a 130pm checkout as a Hyatt Globalist member during fairly low occupancy, but we were made to feel like even this was a major favour the hotel was doing for us. Overall, I would not be rushing back.

Lovely hotel with great customer service attitudes. We had a small issue with the bathroom, which was fixed immediately, and Nesma from customer service was most apologetic. The gift from the hotel was most appreciated. I will definitely return!

Siamo stati dal 4 al 7 Aprile 2026. Questa è la quarta volta ( le prime tre prima della ristrutturazione) che ci andiamo perché sempre affascinati già dalla prima volta. Lo considero tra i primi 10 Hotel al mondo preferiti che ho frequentato. L'emozione arrivandoci è impagabile e la stessa è stata ogni volta; l'imponente cancello di accesso al parco che lo circonda fino ad abbracciare l'impeto dell'oceano sottostante, da subito l'idea di approdare in un luogo incantevole. Subito appare l'imponenza elegante, raffinata e superba che solo una "regina" poteva concedersi una tale "residenza estiva" e che ora fa quasi sentire anche noi tali. Accoglienza, servizio, raffinatezza, classe ne confermano il vero valore che tutto l'insieme ha. Un accenno particolare all'inimitabile ristorante La Rotonde, spazioso, austero, elegantissimo e raffinato. La facciata, tutta vetrata, si affaccia maestosa sul mare. Il menu gastronomico è reso ancora più apprezzabile grazie al personale che lo spiega e lo serve con grande professionalità ed eleganza. Camere molto raffinate, noi avevamo una junior suite vista Oceano, impeccabile. Ottima la SPA e bellissima la piscina interna con relativa zona relax. Senza alcun dubbio ci ritorneremo, forse ancora quest'anno.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel du Palais Biarritz from April 25 to 26, and it was an exceptional experience from beginning to end. This is not simply a hotel, but a truly iconic and historic property, combining elegance, luxury, and a unique atmosphere. Without doubt, it is one of the finest — if not the finest — hotels in Biarritz and the surrounding region. The facilities are outstanding, the setting is magnificent, and the sense of history throughout the property makes the stay very special. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were remarkable: professional, attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. A very special thank you to Nassima and Christine for their exceptional kindness and hospitality. Their care made our stay even more memorable. If there is one area with room for improvement, it would be the restaurant and overall food quality, which could be elevated further to fully match the extraordinary level of the hotel. Overall, a superb and unforgettable stay. I would gladly return and highly recommend this legendary property.

We tried to visit this hotel late morning with a view to having a glass of wine and checking out the brasserie for a meal later in the week. A very unpleasant security man at the gate blocked us and told us it was “fully booked” till 12 and the bar didn’t open till 4, and that “if we were lucky” we might get a coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon. Given such a warm welcome we decided to go elsewhere.
