Nice sized room with friendly staff and good facilities
Very nice room and breakfast.
N/A
more tables to eat at in the bar area as we travelled with dog and were unable to have a table for breakfast as the only other one was being used by someone else with the same issues. There were a number of casual tables and chairs in the bar area but these are all lower and not easy to eat from
Very convenient for shopping. Nice lake behind hotel to walk your dogs. A very dog friendly hotel.
Very clean. Staff very polite and friendly. Rooms food size comfy. Breakfast was nice & cooked well.
Location was a bit further away from town than liked but that’s our own fault.
Nothing
The hotel was in a poor state with stains on the wall and carpet. There was a bad smell everywhere. The room soundproofing was inexistent. Very bad value for money.
The staff were naturally friendly and helpful and not over-the-top - optimal customer service, efficient, couldn't have asked for more. Comfortable beds. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Gym was v good.
While we were going to sleep from about 10:30 pm onwards, we could hear the steady beat of techno dance music nearby. It wasn't obvious if it was another guest or possibly a party or nightclub nearby. It finished at about 11:45 which is too late. It didn't stop us having a restful night but it delayed us getting to sleep.
The Bathroom. We found very difficult to get in and out from the shower.
The bar area and the meal l purchased was good. The staff on reception were very friendly and informative. Very knoledgable of the surounding area's and Swansea.
The hotel looked very tired and definitly in need of a refurbishment. The hotel is badly in need of air conditioning, With the hot weather it was difficult to sleep. Although the hotel did provide fans, all they did was blow the hot air around. There was approximatly around 20 of us that stayed during the weekend and everyone was of the same dislikes about this hotel.
The staff were lovely and helpful, the breakfast was tasty and you could have it in your room which was an added bonus, the room was spacious.
The room was extremely hot, but the hotel had supplied 2 fans but there is no plug sockets beside the bed so you had to plug them far away and that didn’t really help with the heat. There was also limited plug sockets within the room having to unplug other things to charge a phone or plug fan in.
Overall it as a very nice hotel my only problem was i was hoping for a good night speep as i had an early start on the Saturday morning, sleeping by 8:30pm and some idiots decided to smoke in their room and set off the fire alarm at 11:45pm. So everyone was walking the corridors for about an hour trying to fine out whats wrong. I had left my key in the room so had to wait for someone to let me back in i know it wasn't the hotels fault. I gave a high score to the hotel, but a 0 score to the idiots
Rooms clean, dogs allowed, towels provided, parking included. Iron was useful.
I was told dog fee was £15, but when we arrived it was actually £45 as price per day, which was not specified. There was a heatwave so the lack of air con a shame! Also no mini fridge. Probably this is stated on the listing so maybe my fault I just assumed most hotels had these. The room was dated with a few repairs needed. Ants in the room, but again, heatwave may have prompted this.
Dated
Friendly staff couldn't do enough
Nothing
Peaceful
Rooms could be updated
It was comfortable enough. Not too far out of the city.
As usual with UK hotels, no aircon, no fridge in the room, drinks were quite expensive. No smart TV.
Very basic, no air conditioning in rooms
Very basic
The staff, super friendly - super cooperative, understanding and kind.
The property is kinda feeling old, looks like need some renovation, im talking about rooms, not the communal area. Communal area is good.
Good breakfast and staff
Windows open and the room had a fan. Lovely bathroom facilities.
Net curtain was torn on the outer edge. Not obvious until we opened the window.
Staff.
No aircon.
Clean, full amenities better than premier inn where I usually stay, spacious, great location
If become very picky then the bed could be more comfortable a king size or double single mattress rather than twin joined together
Evening meal very nice
Working the shower
Room size, TV Hospitality tray Toiletries Excellent breakfast, with wonderful hot a cold choices Staff lovely, very nice welcome, thankyou Dressing gown, slippers Bed comfortable Linen good quality Good bar
Fire procedure, information and protocol when alarm went off at 12.30am Distressed elderly people struggling to get out of their rooms, confused and frightened No fire warden checking- told by other guests to go back to our rooms Fire escapes not used, residents using corridors to leave-no information whether it was a fire or not Protocol is usually people leave the building to a muster station until the area is confirmed safe, before returning to rooms after a role call? Perhaps different protocol in hotels? .......... Room 148 privedge room Room dusty in places, chair dusty and stained on seat. Mould ++ on inside of left hand curtain along bottom and in pleats Mould on area around sliding window. Mould can cause respiratory problems, especially for asthmatics. This area smelt damp
The floors were cricking the fire alarm went off around 11:30 but guest weren't actually sure what to do
Clean and tidy. The room had everything we needed, it was warm but there was a fan in the room.
Location was good, and it was very clean
No aircon. Only small fan provide on a hot summers day, floors are creaky so when people wake past at night or early morning. Also no net on curtains. Which meant due no aircon I had leave the window wide and curtain wide open nd everyone could see into my room.
The reception bar and restaurant all good
I had room 117 which whilst clean and bed comfortable is looking tired particularly the bathroom. I had rooms 136 and 137 previously which are better. Corridors also tired looking compared to the bar and restaurant
All excellent
I arrived at the hotel well before the check in time, and was allowed to park my car there while I went off to do other things. The room was generally clean and tidy and we had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very nice.
Some of the fixtures and fittings in the room were showing signs of wear and teat and there were a few mould spots on the curtains.
Great location with easy central access to the M4 and Swansea surroundings and shops for any buts that we needed. Our room was spotlessly clean with lovely facilities and very helpful staff, adequate free parking right outside the hotel. We would definitely book again.
No complaints at all. Great value for money..
Quite location. Nice bar that server food. Located on a retail park so plenty of options. Free on site parking
Booked a room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Single bed was actually a pull out bed under the double, and was rather small and low.
Friendly staff,excellent Breakfast
Clean property and friendly staff
We booked the property because of the half board option.. but when we went to dinner we were told that my 15 year old could only choose off the kids menu or pay full for his meal. Really not happy about this, wouldn’t pick a hotel for this reason again. Staff were friendly but also gave my oil that I poured all over my chips instead of vinegar! And a cracked glass to drink out of. The waitress replaced my chips in all fairness but by this point I had finished eating and had had enough by this point. Had checked menu before we arrived and was completely different to what we could pick from.☹️
Location
The rooms were dated .
Friendly staff. Easy check in and out. Ample free parking.
Not a lot of hanging space or drawer storage.
Furnature a bit worn, chairs with stains. Roo. 223
The bar and breakfast areas were nice (and have air con!). Breakfast was good. The staff were really helpful and friendly. They get 5 stars for service!
Our room was stiflingly hot despite two fans provided. No air con would make this hotel a last resort for any future summer stay by us. The room looked like it had been designed in the 80’s. Only one plug near the bed. Even the placement of the kettle wasn’t near a plug! The window would barely open, but the view was nice. Curtains kept closed because of the afternoon heat.
All good love to stay again
Breakfast was ok.
Room had a musty smell.
Had problem with rooms they were addressed by staff in a professional manner service excellent by reception staff thank you
Nothing
Breakfast was good - decent range of options. Room was clean and of a suitable size.
Unusual location - business park area. It worked for me because it is close to my home village.
The hotel has a wonderful lake just behind. Great for dog owners and there is an excellent outdoor gym for exercise.
Located on an industrial park and too far to walk into Swansea.
Location a bit industrial, did not have breakfast.
Locks on windows could be better for security
Friendly helpful receptionist nice room
Poor bar service, drinks flat had to take them back twice.
Food was good. Breakfast excellent value
It was a hot day and there no air con or shade in the outside areas. At points it was very uncomfortable
Breakfast excellent
Very warm room fans supplied
The staff were super nice, professional and friendly. The food was excellent.
There was no air-conditioning which made the stay extremely hot and sweaty, plus the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work and along with no Aircon made the bathroom unbearable. We plan to come to Swansea on a regular basis but feel we can't stay here until they fix the Aircon and extractor fans.
Well positioned just outside of town but within decent access to amenities.
No AirCon insole of the hottest days in the year.
My family only stayed 1 night.
Unhappy staff, no air con
Good location and clean, good restaurant and bar area.
No air con in the room, in the heat wave it was uncomfortable. They did provide two fans in each of our rooms which helped to some degree.
Clean, helpful staff
No air conditioning, room unbearably hot. No sockets near the bed
Hotel room was clean , comfortable bed , and good storage facilities. Room looked as though it had been refurbished. Housekeeping good and tea/coffee replenished daily. Breakfast was very good , selection of both hot and cold items varied and tasty. Staff welcoming and friendly.
No air conditioning , it was very hot and humid in room with just a fan working constantly. If windows had fly screens fitted it would have made it much more comfortable as you could have created a good airflow plus no bugs entering room ! Bathroom needs renovation , basin cracked , shower not good and toilet hard to flush.
Comfy bed
Very dated no air con no fridge, expensive drinks at the bar Definitely needs a revamp
Staff welcoming and friendly - comfortable bed Nice bar and restaurant on site
Bathroom needed updating - shower over bath - bath chipped and toilet seat loose Very hot in room with limited opening windows
Excellent value for money with good facilities. The breakfast was also good.
There was no A/C but there was a fan in the room. We had to leave the window open otherwise it would have still been too warm. Although the food was plenty and nice, the dining area was a bit cramped with guests walking through the tables as we ate.
the mecure swansea likes to keep stuff that is left there i left my calvin klein black t shirt there and was told it wasn't there theiving not happy and rang manager and was a little boy in a not good at his job the supposed to help u and was told lies im not happy 😕 and obvs house keeper is theif and look at the fan in the room full off dust wow and also this isn't first my charger was left and not returned appalling behaviour
theifs and liars and dont put stuff in lost property keep it themselves appalling
The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The price is a great deal. 👍 the fans are well needed when it's hot weather
Last time we stayed here, breakfast was part of the price, nowadays it's an expensive added extra. There is no walkway to the lake at the back of the hotel anymore too. The window was crap and was hard to open and shut
The staff and breakfast
The first room we were given (154) would not even deserve 1 star.. everything was dusty, stained.. spider webs, spiders, and flies. The 2nd room was at least slightly cleaner and the bedsheets were not stained, but I still wouldn't give this hotel 4 Stars.
Nice location and friendly staff.
The door and some other things were just old and no AC in the hotel.
Lounge and dining area very nicely decorated. Breakfast offering very good, cooked breakfast was fresh and hot. Staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nice complimentary products in the bathroom. Proper hairdryer, tea tray, iron and board in the room.
Bedroom and ensuite was a little hot and a little tired and could do with some modernisation but are perfectly fine for a short stay.
Huge, comfortable bed. Free parking.
Room very hot. TV tiny. No elevator for luggage or accessibility. Bathroom dated. Carpets not pleasant. Expensive room rate. Not sure how this is a 4* hotel when the 3* hotels I have stayed in the area are cleaner, more modern and better facilities.
Room was great very spacious inside Staff were very friendly and helpful Nice and quiet with great view Breakfast was great all self service
Carpets in room had some patchy stain marks Towels had stains on
Free parking, spacious room.
Expensive restaurant and bar. No fridge in room. No lift.
Breakfast was lovely. The staff were helpful and kind, and the room was pretty clean.
Staff tried their best to help
Ordered via qr code in bedroom. Terminal not turned on behind bar so order did not go to kitchen I then emailed my queries as per the instructions on the order recoeved email. Staff did not get that either Finally went down to bar to ask questions which I did not want to do on my own travelling with dog. Kitchen now closed, but I got a packet of crisps for my dinner and a glass of wine.
Decent location, close to main roads and shops, nice walk around a pond nearby Restaurant food is quite nice for the price
Restaurant waiting staff at dinner are rather unprofessional
Very convenient location for my office
The property is in a good location with easy access to the shops and city centre
The floors are very creaky. The bedroom door didn’t double lock
Comfortable bed basic room but all you needed for a good nights sleep
A lift to upper floors
Location and the bedroom / bed was very comfortable and food was very good
No ventilation as had a ground floor room ,
Es waren alles sehr gut, sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr bequeme Betten.
Leider ist das Hotel wohl in die Jahre gekommen und es hat gemüffelt! Sogar der Schlafanzug!
There was no air conditioning or control for the heating system. Considering how much I paid for the room I would have expected aircon.
First time here and will definitely be back. The staff was lovely and the best part was how quiet and peaceful it was.
The location was ok
This is by no means a 4 star hotel. We arrived during the heatwave, we entered our room and they had made no effort to try and cool it. There was a fan in there switched off, no windows open and it was about 40 degrees in there. Hot milk in the sachets, no water. We had to open the window and return later as you could breathe in there. When I returned to reception to active my non working keys I told the man that the room was over seriously hot and he replied with oh yes it’s hot isn’t it. The bathroom had all black mould on the walls and around the shower. No bags for the bins. The carpets were disgusting. They were so dirty as were the curtains and net curtain. We went to the bar to get a drink and the girl serving us had absolutely no clue what she was doing. She asked if I wanted my whisky and coke in a half pint or pint glass, when I explained it was meant to go in a whisky glass she had to ask someone what that was. Breakfast was nice enough, but I kept having to ask for everything as it was run out of bread, sauce, yogurt, juice. No one looking to replace anything. Over all it was disappointing and I will definitely be looking for better accommodation in Swansea in future. This is a very poor standard for the mercure chain.
Service was good
The room was dusty
Ease of access, location ,close to walks. Pleasant lounge and dining area, space to sit outside
Nil
Staff were very friendly and helpful rooms were very clean and cosy
There were no lifts at this facility. We had to change rooms
The bar area is very nice
No lift, no air conditioning, so unbelievably hot and uncomfortable that we moved hotels the following day.
We were given a wonderful welcome on arrival. We had a room with all we needed and the best bit was the everyday servicing,we valued that as other places have dropped the ball and we will definitely return to Mercure. This hotel has a beautiful lake behind and it worth searching out . We sat in the garden on hot evenings to enjoy our drink from the bar.The staff our professional, attentive and friendly. On departure during the heat wave we were given water and Welsh cakes ,what a lovely gesture.W stayed as a couple on holiday ,the hotel is prepared for coaches ,seminars ,weddings ,wakes. We are so pleased we made the right choice .
The fan had broken feet and needed to be balanced
Location
No card payment as machine down, so had to leave card details behind desk
Good quiet location in nice area
Quite old decor in parts
Reception and bar area really good. Rooms big let down. Musty smell in room carpet stained all needs updating. Bathroom lots black around bath and shower. It's very dated and old looking.
The room.
