Lobby looks unique, beautiful and special ("victorian style"). Very good and pleasant service. Clean. Nearby parking, reasonable price.

Simple breakfast, like in many California hotels. The furniture in the room is in the same style at in the lobby but it means old, doors and drawers sometimes open by themselves. We didn't have enough space for clothes for several days trip for 2 people. Not enough power sockets.

staff was super friendly, they held our bags prior to check in with no issue, they offered transport to SFO in a number of ways

I booked this property because it was pet free and someone in our traveling party has very intense allergies to pets. We were grateful there were no allergic reactions while on the trip. Breakfast was fine, adequate.

This property was a lot more run down that I had thought. The mattresses were saggy in the middle and felt more like a hammock. There were bloody boogers wiped on the wall by the bed. There were random stray hairs all over the bathroom floor upon check in. In fact- I felt like the floor was so dirty, I mopped with a hand towel and water before we went to bed the first night. The towel (after mopping f the floor) was brown and full of hairs. I’ll probably search elsewhere next time we are in San Fran.

Quand on passe les portes de cet hôtel, le temps s'arrête et on change d'époque.

Le ménage était insuffisant dans les tiroirs (poussière+++) et dans les armoires (installation nécessaire des affaires pour 4 personnes pour 10 jours), la tapisserie dans le fond du tiroir le l'armoire était complètement décollé, la literie trop souple à mon goût. Nous avons eu un petit problème de robinetterie au niveau du lavabo de la salle de bain mais lavabo fonctionnel et il manquait les oeufs brouillés et le bacon au petit déjeuner, dommage.

The hotel had a beautiful lobby with warm decor. Hotel guests sat by the fire and drank tea/coffee and played games. Everyone was friendly. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel employees were helpful and responsive. Loved being close to Japantown, where there's good food, shopping, and massage (highly recommend Jan Massage in basement on Post Street) and the Fillmore district.

One night I got back late and had to ring the buzzer several times before I was let in. I'm glad the hotel door is always locked, but I thought I would not be able to get in!

Beautiful historic hotel with grand staircases and winding hallways. Elagant lobby serving Cookies and Sherry in the afternoon. Is there a ghost? I think I'll need to visit again to find out more.

Excellent location with access to bus system and fantastic restaurant options within walking distance. It was easy to walk to many sights. The cookies left out in the late afternoon were delicious.

The bed was very uncomfortable with a mattress so soft and worn I was unable to get a good night of sleep. The room’s two chairs felt like sitting directly on the springs, making it uncomfortable to work. There was also a distinct and unpleasant odor in the room.

Not a great first impression was made when front desk lady came across as condescending when I asked about parking and she said ‘it’s right there-across the street’ like I had been there before.

Super beautiful old building with lots of attention to detail! The beds were cozy and the free breakfast and afternoon tea/cookies was such a lovely bonus!

Only thing we noticed was that the tv didn’t get most channels.

Staff was very friendly and breakfast was really good. All spaces were clean including bedrooms and bathroom

Location was a little hard to get to. Room was really warm (I don’t think ac worked or if the room even had one ) and there was no screen on windows which made me feel uneasy

Lovely sitting / living room downstairs. There are fireplaces and comfortable chairs and sherry hour at 4pm.

Close to lots of restaurants and shopping, beautiful area, public transportation very accessible.

No USB access, outlets were dated and lots of extension cords and wires everywhere. Dust bunnies behind bed and night stands, very worn and dirty carpet, cracked bathroom sink, windows rattled a lot if opened. Old school coffee pot and bed was a bit lumpy.

Todo respecto al hotel me pareció espectacular, salvo el desayuno. Que porquería. Café saliendo de máquinas de coca cola con sabor a dentista. Solo te dan huevos duros (no hay huevos revueltos, ni estrellados, ni nada por el estilo). Yo, que no como carne, solo quedé comiendo huevos duros. De las frutas, plátanos sin madurar. Tanto amor tiene el hotel, y el desayuno.... En cuanto a los panes dulces está rico. Pero realmente deberían hablar con el hotel para que le pongan un poco de amor al breakfast. Un hotel victoriano, con un desayuno que parece el 7 eleven, da mucha tristeza, porque la experiencia, quitando eso, es de un hotel espectacular. Aún regresaré al hotel, sabiendo que tengo que desayunar fuera, pero no estaría nada mal que mejoren esa parte.

I didn't have breakfast. The location was perfect! I was able to walk to the Juneteenth Festival. After the festival I was able to walk with my friends to a restaurant for a birthday celebration!! Afterwards we were able to walk back to the hotel.

The beds were a little mushy

The breakfast was good. The lounging area downstairs was amazing with the old furniture, books, and art. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating to our needs.

I’d forgotten how beautiful the hotel was. The attention to detail both in the rooms and in the public areas is remarkable.

I think you should remove the clause on your website about the Afternoon Tea as it is not provided. Bought cookies do not an Afternoon Tea make and you can’t have Tea without boiling water. I would suggest that you simply offer tea and sherry service in your lobby daily (as long as you boil the water).

Super safe neighbourhood. And easy walk to cable cars and other public transport. The property also offer a town car at 3 separate times of the morning. The staff are welcoming, helpful.

The location

The parking costs too much although it says that it includes parking. The breakfast was not good, cold coffee, over boiled eggs, and a very limited options.

We liked the size of the room, the comfort of the bed, the general vibe of the hotel overall, and the extra walk-in closet which made it easy to store stuff without tripping over it constantly. We've stayed here in years past and came back again because we knew it was high value.

We didn't like that there was no mini-refrigerator in the room, which we discovered after bringing back big leftover sandwiches from the amazing Italian deli down the street. We also didn't like that the shampoo/conditioner/gel apparatus was impossible to use, and we had to open it up and uncap the bottles to get in.

Charming historical building lovingly restored with antiques, glorious woodwork, and stained glass. Quirky in a good way. We are repeat customers.

Main criticism is breakfast: cheap pastries; no yogurt; only boiled eggs; little fruit; crummy coffee and juices. Wouldn't take much to do better, more fitting to the building.

The common areas were uncommonly comfortable, with two large lobby areas, each with a fireplace. Many guests enjoyed these special spaces. Also, the location in Japantown had many excellent restaurant choices.

Super nice colonial style hotel. I would go there just for the atmosphere. It is not the most modern obviously, but in a good shape. That you need to ring a bell every time you enter the hotel is a bit surprising, but the staff was very responsive. It is not super central, but most things are still in walking distance (if you are a decent walker) and San Francisco any way has a good bus system. Parking is directly next to the hotel which was convenient. I would definitely go there again next time, just because of the flair and the colonial rooms :).

Hotel staff people took care of our request very well. This hotel has all included: Breakfast and evening tea time.

Because of no ventilation system in the room, there is uncomfortable air in the room and bath room. Drinking water and hot water taste is not good for us.

all is perfect - being specialty vegan i was not able to eat any thing offered for breakfast traditionally meat-egg-milk oriented, tea-coffe station is amazing offering old times charm of porcelain tea cups unrushed tea time by fire place in a most comfortable arm chair. it was amazing experience to enjoy setting sun shine light igniting cherry in a glass - it is deeply spiritual experience to contemplate sunray in a glass of cherry - i understood why cherry is exactly a blend it is - i've never experienced any other density drink creating same out wordly experience of ecstatic joy... cherry and cookies offered at a traditional hours 5-7pm... people are so beautiful at Queen Ann! i loved every little detail - every moment of experience during the stay - and the near by (Lafayette?) park just up the hill is near as beautiful as botanical gardens!

This is such a special hotel in Japantown. It is beautifully decorated and an incredible example of victorian era style. The staff was so helpful and check in and check out was lovely. They also have a town car that can drop you off down town in the morning at specific times. That was wonderful. In the afternoon they have cookies and sherry/tea and in the morning there is a nice breakfast (bagels, hard boiled eggs, sausage, waffles, etc). It is a short walk to Japantown (1-3 blocks to get at the best restaurants). There are also buses that can take you downtown (38R, 38, etc).

There could be more outlets in the room but I understand this is an old building.

The building is absolutely gorgeous. Very historical feel and the decor is lovely. My room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Being in walking distance from Japan town was really nice too. Gave me a lot to do. Breakfast was good. Like what I expect for a complementary breakfast food wise but I found the food above average.

I do wish I could have opened a window or something in my room for some fresh air.

The breakfast was very complete; however, arriving early is recommended to enjoy a wider variety of options. The staff was very kind and attentive.

There were a few areas in the bedroom with weak Wi-Fi coverage. Additionally, the pillows were not very comfortable. It would also be helpful to have more hanging space in the bathroom for towels.

The Victorian property was beautifully furnished. Very Victorian. The staff was very helpful. They took good care of us.

The property was not very clean. And our room was in need of some serious attention. The carpet was old and dirty. There was an unstable lump along 6 inches of the entry to the bathroom. The curtains were pinned together.
