The history, location, and friendly staff.
The pool area needed some music and cool misters.
Beautiful and clean, even smelled amazing.
Bathrooms are a touch small
Fire alarm went off three times . Property is old and not well maintained.
The pool area and beach were excellent.
Would be nice if they had an outside hot tub
Its History and location to the beach
Did not get checked until 5:30 and had a restless 8 year old with us. We then did not receive the call we were told we would get when the room was ready. A rather expensive room for what you get and the buffet breakfast was cold. Se we decided to leave Saturday afternoon rather than stay another night.
Great facilities and location.
Families playing football and throwing balls in the pool. Kept hitting everyone. Staff did nothing.
It was nice that it was on beach.
Room was tiny and outdated. Stairs were a lot with a stroller and kids.
Incredible experience, from the two outstanding front desk Nat and Andrew to the outside pool personnel. Rooms were great. Hotel very clean. Now the not so great… Vallet personal (Scott) rude and unfriendly! Expressed concern with no acknowledgement from mgmt! Lunch at Society Restaurant less than a quality experience, unfortunately the only option for lunch….
This is an iconic hotel, great location, beautiful beach, great staff. The pool area is very nice, and the pool bar staff are exceptionally nice guys. The main bar is a very nice ambiance but not cheap! In our opinion, the restaurant menus are a bit random, but that’s our opinion. We would visit again
Checked into hotel and was given very little information. Our room overlooked the road and the building site. Was woken by noise every morning by workmen and disturbed in the evening by road noise. For the cost per night this was just not satisfactory. Steps lead to the entrance so when travelling with 3 toddlers 2 of which in strollers it’s not ideal. Only once did staff assist carrying them up the stairs. Noticed afterwards that when Americans checked in they were given lots of information, very accommodating, balls for children etc. Staff would just appear to help them with bags, cases etc. We were not given the same service. Not sure if it’s because we are from the UK but could most definitely sense we were treated differently. Cost of restaurant and drinks was extortionate! We wasn’t told about the free shuttle to nearby restaurants until day 4 when my husband went to guest services to book a restaurant. Pool area is nice, however 1 attendant was quite rude when we asked for umbrella to be moved, food in restaurants was nice but not a big menu selection. Great gym. Had to stay another night as child was really unwell and the room again was by road and building site so woken early again from noise. Requested crib which had no sheet! Requested kettle but they didn’t know what a kettle was! Was very very very disappointed, the cost was astronomical for this trip, we should have felt like royalty but didn’t, it was just not good value at all and I’m left wanting another holiday.
Everything is incredible! There is so much to do, the food and amenities are outstanding!
We had a wonderful time at Don CeSar this week. The service was truly unmatched. Servers Katie and Jackie were top notch. We had a running joke that Katie moonlights as a mind reader, she was that on top of things before we even had to ask! The lobby bar staff took excellent care of our team and clients joining us each evening. Erza, our bearded friends (we believe Dan & Pat?) and the lovely young blonde bartender were all rockstars. Our only suggestion is to ensure the elevators are all working properly for a business conference. We still rate our experience as 5 stars!
We had lunch at the Beacon Pool Bar last week. Sat outside at a table. We both ordered the Mahi Wrap. The menu states: BLACKENED MAHI WRAP blackened mahi, napa slaw, pineapple, flour tortilla, spicy aioli. The wraps arrived and we both noticed they were very dry. Then as my husband was eating his he notices ONIONS. His body cannot tolerate onions. The server was no where to be seen. So he proceeded to dissect the wrap removing all the onions which were not noted in the description. Lunch was a total disaster. One big mess. Then when I was paying I asked the server for a paper receipt which she told me she could not do. They do not do that. I have asked that either the GM Barbara Readey get back to me or the Director of food and beverage to discuss further. But 1 week later no contact. Very disappointed It is very difficult to get anyone to contact you back at the Don Cesar.
First thing first. We did not experience the hotel at its finest when we checked in however after a conversation with the manager this was sorted satisfactorily and without any hassle. The hotel is beautiful, the room was spotless and the beach you cannot describe adequately. The real shining stars however are the staff. Special mention to poo server Becki, concierge Heidi and all of the staff at uncle andys. We will be back
Beachfront property with services available (chairs + umbrellas) included in room and resort fee. Great service at the beach of food and beverages. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Pet friendly property. Good quality and service at the bar, and the main restaurant has good food.
Room was small, but bathroom was ridiculously small (we had to open the shower door to get our knees to fit while seated in the toilet (and I'm no giant!). The bathroom was really uncomfortable and think of washing your hair after a day at the beach and pool. The hotel was packed and the elevators took long and sometimes many rides to go to the floor. It was a particularly expensive hotel this weekend, so the details matter.
the bathroom had tile broken chipping at the bottom so gross, the hotel under constrcution so you can't see the beach from any of the restaurants on the propety - the guy that brings the paddle boards to the beach sits there blocking the view to the property with his feel up on the sterring wheel.
Amazing place
Amazing hotel overall, great service and a terrific staff, room service was excellent as well as the room attendant and the cleanness of the room. Perfect amenities and location was second to none. The beach and pool area as well as the beach lounge chairs and umbrellas all great and hotel food was excellent as well.

The Don CeSar is a beautiful historic hotel in an outstanding beachfront location. The facilities, the room, and the overall atmosphere lived up to our expectations, and we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, our first impression was negatively affected by the front desk service. When I returned to the reception to complete our check-in, the staff member assisting us was unexpectedly rude and dismissive. There was no greeting, no empathy, and the interaction felt rushed and unwelcoming. What disappointed me most was not the wait itself, but the lack of courtesy. At a property of this caliber, guests expect to be treated with professionalism and warmth, especially during the first interaction upon arrival. Fortunately, this seemed to be an isolated incident, as the remainder of our stay was pleasant and enjoyable. I hope management addresses this, because the service at the front desk should reflect the same high standard as the rest of the hotel. I would gladly return, but I also hope future guests receive the level of hospitality that The Don CeSar is known for.
I loved everything about this place . Housekeeping service was wonderful came back to my room it felt very clean after a long day of being on the beach all day the housekeeper ebony was very detailed I got service the next day which was a different housekeeper service wasn't so good as when the housekeeper ebony did it room 434
We have wanted to stay at The Don CeSar to experience the stay at this grand old hotel. We stayed for two nights. The hotel has recovered from the 2024 hurricanes & the hotel's appearance has been restored to it's classic style. As expected, our room was nicely furnished, but the room was small, but comfortable. The bathroom was very small & did not accommodate the two of us very well. These issues are expected because of the age of the hotel & the limitations to working with the given space. The staff from the front desk to the servers at the restaurants & lobby bar were all very friendly & responsive to our needs. The grounded were beautiful & well maintained. Overall, an enjoyable e stay at this classic beach hotel.
I recently visited The Don with a group of friends for my bachelorette celebration and had an incredible experience. The recreation team went above and beyond to make our day feel special, delivering exceptional service from start to finish. Joseph, our server, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and a big part of what made the experience so memorable. The property offers a true luxury pool experience with upscale cabanas, comfortable loungers, premium amenities, and a beautiful atmosphere. The food and beverage program was excellent, with delicious cocktails and high-quality offerings throughout the day. Our group's favorite was The Don Frosé—a must-try if you're visiting. If you're looking for a luxury day pass experience in San Diego for a girls' getaway, bachelorette party, pool day, or special occasion, The Don is an excellent choice. We would absolutely return.

Beautiful property. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating. The spa services were top notch.
Just not what was expected from a luxury class resort category for the high price we paid. Should be classified as a hotel not a resort. Hotel is definitely showing its age and in need of some TLC in some areas. Beach is beautiful though, but you can stay at much cheaper hotel on the same beach for the same experience.
The Tennessee Crew had another amazing trip. We spent hours and hours at the Pool, Katie is a Rockstar. She is absolutely THE Best. She makes our trips to THE DON special each summer. We need drinks....She takes care of us. We need Ice for the Buckets....she has us covered. We need something to eat, Katie has us covered.
This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had especially for a “luxury” hotel. We paid over $600 per night before fees and expected the level of service associated with a luxury resort. Instead, the experience felt closer to a budget motel than a high-end destination. The most disappointing part was the complete lack of empathy from staff. I was pregnant and traveling with my 2-year-old daughter. After spending time at the pool waiting for our room to be ready, she began screaming and crying because her skin was burning and irritated from what appeared to be an extremely heavily chlorinated pool. Our room was still not ready despite the stated 4:00 PM check-in time, and when we explained the situation and simply asked if there was any way to access a room so our toddler could rinse off and lie down, we were told to wait in the lobby in our wet swimsuits until 6:00 PM. No accommodation was offered, no concern was shown, and there was no attempt to help a distressed child or a pregnant guest. She cried herself to sleep in my arms in the cold lobby. To make matters worse, we were celebrating our babymoon and had noted this in advance. There was absolutely no acknowledgment of it whatsoever. The pool area itself was disappointing. Several of the communal pool toys appeared old, dirty, and poorly maintained. Some looked unsanitary and borderline unsafe for babies and young children. Service throughout the resort was consistently poor. Beach service was nearly impossible to get. At the pool, there appeared to be only one server responsible for the entire area, leading to waits of 30 minutes or longer just to place an order. Staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed at every turn. The room was also underwhelming. It was not particularly clean, the bathroom ventilation fan did not work, and there were no robes in the room—something that is a basic expectation at this price point and category of hotel. The food was equally disappointing. For a resort charging luxury prices, the dining experience was remarkably average and failed to justify the cost. What frustrates me most is that luxury hospitality is not about marble lobbies or historic buildings—it’s about service. When a pregnant mother and a crying toddler need help, great hotels find a way to help. The Don CeSar showed no flexibility, compassion, or urgency whatsoever. Beautiful location but far from everything (coffee shops, shopping, restaurants) and the service, cleanliness, amenities, and overall guest experience were nowhere near worth the price. We left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and shocked by how poorly we were treated. We will never return and would not recommend this property to families expecting the level of care and service that a luxury hotel should provide.
Localização muito boa
Ar condicionado barulhento
Staff was amazing! Really enjoyed my stay!

localizacao excelente, hotel muito bonito , comida boa com preco justo, suporte para praia espreguicadeiras e guarda sol , staff simpatico , praia limpa , sistema de valet

My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay at the Don. They have an amazing staff, including Andrea, Katie, Jackie and Mike at the pool area to Pat and all the other Lobby bar staff. Ana at the check in desk was very accommodating and even was able to allow us to check in early upon arrival! We're already planning our return trip in October.
Loved our experience at the Don. The people that work there made our stay so enjoyable! Katie and Jackie at the pool, Darian and Nicole, the bartenders that waited on us, all so friendly and accommodating! The hotel was clean and the grounds were beautifully manicured! The pools and the beach were icing in the cake !
Experience was amazing. Beautiful hotel with significant history. Beaches and food was great. Concierge named Julian was delightful! You Have to get the history tour of the hotel. Julian was an incredible tour guide as well.
Location was great
Staff was not friendly, the spa overcharged us for a couples massage
We booked the The Don CeSar expecting a luxury experience based on the website and pricing, but unfortunately it felt far more like a cash extraction machine than a true luxury hotel. The positives: the location is excellent, directly on the beach and convenient to nearby restaurants and attractions. The staff were consistently polite and professional throughout the stay (although not actually helpful, just pleasant). The hotel is generally clean overall Having said that, the overall experience simply did not justify the premium pricing (We paid $1,442.84 for one night in an oceanview room with a king bed, valet parking, and dinner for 2 with one round of drinks. This includes the room fee, resort fee, sales tax, occupancy tax, and occupancy and sales tax on the resort fee). Here are the challenges we faced: 1) NOISE: The noise level was extremely high throughout the property, and made it difficult to relax (I wore noise reduction ear plugs so I didn't hear all the noise in the hallway during the night, but my partner didn't sleep a wink because it was so noisy). Even just sitting on the teeny-tiny balcony was a disappointment given the high noise level from the pool (every time the pool gate closed yielded a loud crashing/clanging noise) and the roar from the air handling units on the roof next door, of which we had a birds-eye view. 2) SPACE: LOBBY: When you arrive, you realize you have to walk down a set of stairs and cram your way into an extremely small reception space that is simply too small to accommodate the crush of guests at the front desk. People were on top of each other cueing at the front desk. The luggage area on the other side of the hallway was overflowing with baggage. Not a great first impression, but we were willing to overlook it in anticipation of a nice stay (and it was a holiday weekend, so I would imagine traffic was greater than normal). SMOKING: The hotel is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, but our room (#242) had clearly been smoked in, and it just made us want to puke every time we walked in. When we reported it to the front desk, they said sorry, would you like us to spray the room? What they should have said is, let us make it up for you somehow -- a room change, a discount, something, anything. The smell was not a minor inconvenience; it was absolutely disgusting. ROOM: The room, its bathroom, and balcony all were also much smaller than expected (see pictures). Let's talk about the bathroom: It's a one person bathroom; there is no way two people are brushing their teeth together! It's so small, you have to close the door to use the shower (because the shower is behind it) and when you close the door to use the toilet, you will find you have an excellent view of yourself peeing because there is a full size mirror on the back of the door. STORAGE: There were just a few drawers of storage in the closet (see picture) -- which was fine since we were just staying for one night, but I feel bad for anyone staying longer, because there is very little space to store your clothes. 3) FOOD The food was surprisingly inconsistent for a hotel at this price point, both in quality and value. We ate at Society Table and my chicken, though flavorful, came in a bowl with enough gravy that made it impossible to cut with a butter knife without it sliding out, so I asked for a plate and steak knife. Fine. The real issue was with the noise level (cacophanous!), the appetizer ($20 for 5 medium shrimp that were just thrown into a little bowl), and my partner's meal, which were a few skewered bites of very dried out chicken on rubbery rice. My partner is the stoic type and for him to complain means it's really bad. It's the only restaurant we've eaten at recently where we didn't finish our meals (or my glass of wine) because we just wanted to leave. 4) SERVICES We paid to valet our car ($38, included in the total above), but the valet could not pick up the car on our way out because it's a stick shift, and so he pointed out to my partner where it was in the parking lot. Okay. But when my partner went to get it, there was no way for him get out of the parking lot, so he got locked in for about 10 minutes before the valet realized he needed to let him out. Oh, and after all that, I also had to remind them to email my receipt...I did not receive it until I asked, which was more than 48 hours after checking out. Why not just email it when we checked out, like other hotels do? No one else was checking out or needed services when we clocked out at 6:30 a.m. the next morning so we could get away from the smoke smell. SUMMARY Luxury-priced hotels are supposed to deliver comfort, calm, and attention to detail. In this case, the experience felt overcrowded, overpriced, and underwhelming. We left feeling that we had paid for the brand and location rather than an actual nice experience. TL;DR: Shame on us for falling for the expertly written marketing copy on the website (it's really quite evocative) and actually believing it. But the copy turns out to be aspirational, not actual. In other words, the experienced promised did not materialize in reality, and we strongly feel that this hotel is not a good value for money. In fact, we feel duped.
Like the service we received around the pool and at the beach Room was in the corner and not a good view of beach from the window in the bedroom and the sitting area was very dark as there was no window
A better location for the room A room with a better view
Took a quick trip to the Don. I have been before but haven’t been back since the hurricane shut it down. It was great to see that they have done a tremendous job in cleaning up and the resort is in great shape. The only change I noticed is the second story of the pool bar and the removal of the hot tubs. All the service staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and the beach was perfect as always. The Don is not cheap but it feels worth it.
Family of 3 needed a respite from the cold. So off to the pink palace we went. Arrival was neat and orderly with Kim helping us check-in. Everything was a breeze from here on in at this 5 star resort.
Check in was great Nick, Scott was terrific with bags. Pool was clean and Rodney played jazz music soft every morning. Jackie Katie excellent server's. Food at beacon society table excellent. Now that they have resort pass people paying up scale they are better behaved . Great and relaxing stay this time. Wendell was great with mother's Day meal.
Great location. Checks off every box. We are locals and decided for a little staycation. Will definitely be coming back again!
Excellent amenities, very friendly staff, nice rooms, awesome pools and views! Would definitely stay here again!
Our family recently stayed at The Don CeSar for three nights. The property itself is beautiful, and many staff members were courteous and helpful throughout our stay. However, our trip ended on a very disappointing note. Following pool use during our stay, both of our children experienced severe facial irritation that progressed into redness and peeling over the next two days. One of our children ultimately required medical evaluation and treatment for irritant contact dermatitis. We contacted the hotel immediately, shared photographs and medical documentation, and attempted to resolve the matter directly and professionally. Unfortunately, the hotel ultimately denied any connection to the incident and declined to provide any accommodation or resolution. While there were positive aspects to the resort, this experience — and the response afterward — left us very disappointed.
Location is great, however, way overpriced for the experience and services offered. The Marriot Residence Inn Treasure Island rooms are just as nice at a fraction of the cost.
A few unsavory guest in the lounge area.
Location
Not upscale as in the past
The date scroll (above) did not go back far enough for us to recognize our last visit in April of 2005 when my wife and I last visited and celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Our stay at the Don CeSar in 2005 was wonderful. We are now returning this June to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and look forward to the same special experience. We are confident that the quality of service provided 20 years ago will be the same this year and look forward to our return visit.
Very disappointing and honestly unacceptable experience. The price per night is extremely high, yet the reality is completely different from what is shown online. The images and promotions are misleading and create expectations that are not even close to what you actually get. The condition of the hotel is very poor. It feels neglected, outdated, and not properly maintained. The room was in bad shape, but the worst part was the bathroom. It was genuinely dirty and in an unacceptable state. For a hotel charging these rates, this is simply inexcusable. Cleanliness is the most basic standard, and it was clearly not met. The entire stay felt uncomfortable and frustrating from the moment we arrived. This is not just below expectations, it is far below what should be acceptable at any level, especially at this price point. Overall, it feels like a complete misrepresentation of what is being offered. Definitely not worth the money, and not a place I would recommend to anyone.
If you want to relax and be pampered this is the place. We did delux premium king room very nice great view of pools and ocean . Pools large and refreshing, plenty of lounge chairs, bar in the middle so service is right at hand. music during the day outside and in the lounge in the evening. great food, nice shopping . staff very friendly and helpful. We are headed back this June for another weeks stay.
The property was nice, but I felt like everything was overly priced. Nothing had prices tags on it and we wind up paying more than we would’ve if we chose to eat or drink drinks other locations. Everything we purchased we were charged 22% in tips whether they deserved a tip or not and they were just two of us.
We felt like it was price gouging, in all locations in the hotel. Everything was extremely overpriced and I’ve stayed at nice hotels all over this one was the most expensive and not worth the money.
Amazing experience
This is a return trip after many years and we regret not coming back sooner! The customer service, rooms, staff are all amazing and make you feel super welcome and special! Alexa Smith in the front office is so helpful, every staff member was friendly, and so accommodating- we loved our visit and will definitely return to this iconic resort!
Magnifique hôtel, plage et piscine
Rien
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to step into a dream… this is it 🤍 From the moment I arrived at The Don CeSar, I felt it — that instant shift into vacation mode, but elevated. Not just a hotel… an experience.
NOTHING IT WAS PERFECT!
I'm afraid the gild is off the lily. Let's start with parking: $38 to self-park, $40 to valet (plus tax and an invitation to tip) -- before you cross the threshold. No al fresco dining with Gulf views. Replaced by huge crane at work -- impossible to overlook or not hear. Fries had to be traded in for fresh. Exterior is now a weird coral-ish color. I think the hurricanes set the place back and it's yet to recover. Our fond past memories will remain so but it's unlikely we'll return. Our bartender/server was great and the espresso martini delicious.
Rated this wonderful hotel 5 stars back in 2018. This was our first time back after the post-hurricane renovations. Still 5 stars, but only because that’s the most you can give. Otherwise, I’d give more. It’s perfect- stunningly beautiful, wonderful service, (especially at Society Table and poolside) and delicious food and drinks. Total perfection- and it’s PINK!
SO we have stayed at this property numerous times.. We live 2 hours away. This time upon check in, we went to the bar area by the pool. There is massive construction on the restaurant, which was extremely noisy. I assumed it would only be temporary for maybe a day. The next day we went to the pool and there was nobody sitting in the seats. Then we went to the beach area acquired 2 chairs, within the first 20 minutes, there were jackhammer noises, beeping of trucks, numerous trucks running around the property which even at the front row sitting next to the beach was extremely loud. HOW DOES A PROPERTY GET AWAY WITH NOT MENTIONING THIS ON THE WEBSITE?? EVEN ON EXPEDIA?? I am requesting a full refund, wasted time, gas, and would have went to another property.
This is a great place for families or couples. If you like a 1.5 miles beach walk for breakfast, this is the place.
Great time, relaxing by the pool. Long romantic walks on the beach. Beautiful sunsets by the water edge. The Don cesar never let's me down allways a great experience at the hotel. Great staff and service. They take care of all the small details for a great experience.
The quality of the rooms at this historic hotel are that of a motel six panted pink. The exterior is beautiful but is a veneer. Your money is better spent at more modern beach front hotels.
The Don Cesar is absolutely breathtaking. Its beauty and long history spark imagination and wonder. No words can describe how monumental this experience has been! Simply sitting and looking at the Pink Palace is calming, meditative, and unforgettable. Each staff member clearly has a connection, rather it sharing a personal experience, the Don’s history, or a genuine desire to make one’s stay pleasurable. This trip will stick with me for a lifetime! Thank you for allowing me to share a piece of history! ❤️
I wanted to love it! Unfortunately the Don Cesar fell short. First they were filming a movie which closed one of the two pools. This of course made the one pool very crowded. They also had part of the outdoor spaces closed as well as section of the beach. NOT WHAT I WAS PAYING FIR! Their staff needs training on service. Their general tone is unwelcoming and somewhat disrespectful. The food is mediocre at best. Which I could get past if it was served with a smile. I had requested a call upon check out from F&B about the unprofessional management at the pool area, but a week later no one has called or reached out. Rooms & bathrooms are tiny. If I were selecting a similar hotel again I would choose another option. On another note The spa was good!
We really had such a great and relaxing time at the Don Cesar. Some of the reviews mentioned smaller rooms, but ours was a corner unit and was great. We loved the morning yoga on the beach, the pool and just lounging Oceanside. The staff went beyond and every single person was kind and helpful. The yoga instructors were amazing and Katie at the pool was truly great. We want to come back soon, and love this little slice of paradise on St. Pete. Also the surrounding area was great, we had a great time going to local restaurants and using the Freebee rides to get around and get suggestions of where to go from local residents. Food at the hotel is great too, we loved Andy’s for a morning coffee and sandwich. Thank you for a great stay!
Hotel é maravilhoso. Piscinas, praia, restaurantes e localização excelentes. Pôr do sol espetacular! Um lugar especial!
Checked in for terrible food. Half pool closed due movie. Windows broken in room. Foood 100% wrong. Terrible experience. Left and was much happier
Located on the beautiful Gulf of America, this hotel offered so much. The historic hotel harkens back to such a glamorous and elegant time that is sorely missing in so many hotels these days. The rooms were completely comfortable with a lovely art decor feel. The restaurants offered fine dining no matter which one you chose. The hotel staff went out of their way to make our trip memorable including a movie being filmed while we were there. The fine dining, lovely access to the beach, the first class spa and the staff ensure I will be returning very soon!
I went on Location for a 3 day film shoot at the Hotel and had the opportunity to stay at the property. This is a historic property that just went through a 100 million dollar post hurricane restoration. The Art Deco beauty of the hotel is remarkable. The lobby bar is beautiful and serves great drinks in the afternoon as well as some great Wagyu sliders. The rooms are smaller as its an old hotel but they are beautifully appointed and comfortable. We traveled with our pets, (the hotel is pet friendly and you will end up on the 2nd floor which is their "pet floor") it's a $75/day pet fee. There is no stigma here about traveling with your pet, but I would recommend against it unless you have a small dog. The pool is beautiful and the beach access with lounge chairs and umbrellas included in your stay for free are well worth it. There is also food/beverage service on the beach at your chairs. The hotel is located centrally so you have easy access to many other bars and restaurants close by but do eat at the hotel if you want a great meal. We ate at the Society Table restaurant a few times and it never disappointed. The staff is awesome, friendly and helpful and I cannot wait to go back.
This resort is fantastic! Great food, the service is excellent! The servers at the pools, bars and restaurants are top notch! The beach service was awesome! We loved the Easter brunch, so many options and the food was great. The hotel is clean and the renovated rooms were great! Although this is an older historic resort, they have done everything to bring it up to today's luxury resort standards!
Great place 1st class all the way around. My only issue is a film is being made here for the week “The Statement” and access is restricted and we are being asked to accommodate the film not how it should work we should have been told about the film and restrictions around the property I would have not come this week. Sadly nothing offered as compensation. I have been asked by film people to move or not do something several times. Not how I would spend a vacation. Disappointed not informed prior!
This property has retained its beauty throughout the years. The property is clean and the staff pleasant. That said, there is not much around the property as it is out of the way a bit. This allows it to capitalize on convenience through its escalated pricing for even the most basic of amenities. Think of it more like a captive audience. The bathroom showed signs of wear and regardless of the time of day or night, the water pressure in the shower was barely enough to make it out of the shower head. The toilet was extremely close to the wall and would not allow sufficient clearance for a larger person to sit comfortably. The rooms air filter was completely clogged, well past a preventative maintenance change.
This was a beautiful hotel! The sand was like white flour. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We rented a car but we did enjoy walking the beach to restaurants and bars in both directions.
Very clean and comfortable
The booking was incorrect, I booked a oceanview when I got to my room it was scenery of roof and air conditioning The hotel wouldn’t change it
The resort is beautiful. This was our 5th stay through the last 8 years
The food was terrible and overpriced. We had breakfast and lunch and both were bad and extremely expensive. This time we only stayed 2 nights and glad we did that because we were able to explore other hotels that had smaller facilities but the food was incredible.
Great staff beautiful hotel clean rooms very relaxing.
We went for lunch and rented a cabana to have a beach day excursion with our tween neices in town for spring break from the tundra. We didn't day pass because I live 20 minutes away and have a pool. LOL!! But would have if I didnt. The service is top-notch. Our server at lunch was super friendly! The dessert was incredible!! Then off to the beach. The guys who set up the cabana and beach chairs were super friendly. Our beach server was great, and there was every time our cups got empty. It was like she had a camera watching. She was that good! Highly recommended spending the $$!!! It's worth every penny!
We had an absolutely amazing experience staying at The Don CeSar in St. Pete Beach with our family! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The drinks were fabulous, perfectly crafted and refreshing. The atmosphere was relaxing and not too “spring break”. What truly stood out was the incredible wait staff. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time. The activities for the kids were great! Our kids were constantly engaged, happy, and excited, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable for us. This was a five-star experience all around, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, relaxing, and memorable getaway!
