Room was Great over looking water pool and mountains just breath taking views and the property has plenty of options for food Rockwell Grill for Dinner was a 10 chef Was a A+
If there is Anything I’d change about this hotel it’s the parking for customers it’s not that great it’s 45 dollars a day for Valet but 35 just to park on property …
I'm not sure what everyone else experienced, but this place was disgusting. My two daughters and I stayed here for two nights on our road trip from Santa Cruz to Arizona, so it was incredibly disappointing after a 7-hour drive. There was apparently a conference that weekend, which explains why rooms were $400+/night for a one-bed-plus-sofa-sleeper. I didn't mind the price — I was trying to make memories with my girls. It was crowded, like walking into a Vegas casino - not a relaxing retreat. The room itself had a weird layout ... there's a window between the bathtub and the main room, close enough to the bed that someone sitting in the tub could practically hold hands with someone sleeping. Strange design choice. The halls were hot with no air conditioning, and the floors near the pool were wet from foot traffic in and out. Then there was the pool area. This is where it really fell apart. CUPS EVERYWHERE — it felt like arriving at Spring Break. The water was cloudy, the chaise lounges were stained brown (I had to cover one with a towel for my daughter), and there was dirt and trash scattered everywhere. My youngest swam to the bottom and started picking up cups "for fun." We lasted about 20 minutes before my eldest said, "Mama, I feel dirty." Then came the final straw. Heading back to our room to grab food, we passed the lobby and it smelled like URINE and FECES. Not faintly — like literal poop. That was it for me. At 10PM, after a full day of driving, exhausted, I went to the front desk and said, "I'm checking out. This hotel doesn't meet my standards, and I'd like a full refund." They apologized and gave me a full refund. We were there four hours total. I also filled out a survey afterward. The GM was kind and offered a free two-night stay to win us back. I told them honestly: "I don't think there's anything you can do to get me to come back ... you'd have to buy all new furniture and clean that pool. I still don't know where the feces smell came from." If they really wanted to make it right, it would take two free nights at a *different* property, because I would never come back here. PROS - Staff was nice and tried to fix what they could. Outside grounds were impressive BUT DON'T GO INSIDE
I liked that there were five pools and 9 restaurants!
Parking far and having to walk in the heat. Valet is too expensive.
The hotel had many things to offer

It’s beautiful and did not want to leave the resort at all!
Everything 😊 the stuff was great especially Celeste thank you
Everything,amazing
The best part of the stay was that we didn’t have to leave the resort, it had everything we needed for our stay. Boat ride, flamingos, staff.
During weekend there was too many people and the pool wasn’t that clean, the staff was rushing all the time. We saw stains on the extra blankets for sofa bed,and a big flying bug in the room.

Insane new parking fee! $12 for three hours, $18 beyond. This is Palm Deserr not Beverly Hills and newly everywhere offers free parking including upscale El Cajon Paseo . I am platinum elite with Bonvoy and live close by. For many years I hosted business dinners at the resort and brought paying guests. The resort needs tons of renovations but until today many like me have overlooked it. Since 1987 this resort was a nice place to go to. They will lose a tremendous amount of business over this sheer greed. There are too many great options to go to in the Coachella valley. Good luck JW Desert Springs!

Great location and selection of dining. Beautiful golf courses. The pool was crowded but fun.
The staff upon checking in, didn’t explain a lot about the amenities/how to book the pool/ use my mobile room key, or breakdown the incidental costs. They just asked me to swipe my card and basically gave me my room keys. There were also some small cobwebs above the bathroom mirror as well as on the balcony.
We checked in on June 13, 2026, and checked out on June 14, 2026, at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. The hotel was absolutely amazing! Our room was beautiful, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, giving us a great night’s sleep. The resort is stunning, with beautiful grounds and shopping areas nearby. One of our favorite experiences was the boating. It was such a great idea, and the sunset views were breathtaking. The food and restaurants were excellent, and the sushi was especially delicious. My server provided outstanding service and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We loved every moment of our stay and were so happy to be there. This was a perfect mother-and-daughter getaway, and we will definitely come back again—next time for an even longer stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended!
JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa Palm Desert Marriott Should Reconsider Hosting Hertz in Their Lobby 1064205928 The JW Marriott Palm Desert is a beautiful property with excellent staff, and my issue is not with the hotel itself. However, the Hertz rental desk operating inside the lobby is a serious problem — and it reflects on Marriott whether they intend it to or not. I had a fully pre‑paid reservation with Hertz, arrived on time, and found their desk completely closed with no way to retrieve my car. The Marriott front desk was helpful and did what they could, but the rental operation inside their building was unprofessional, unresponsive, and dismissive. This is where Marriott’s responsibility comes in: When a business operates inside your lobby, guests naturally assume it meets your standards. If that business consistently delivers poor service — and Hertz’s reviews on Yelp, Google, and TripAdvisor show a long pattern of complaints — it doesn’t just hurt the renter. It reflects poorly on the hotel and creates more frustrated guests who trusted the Marriott brand. I hope Marriott reevaluates its partnership with this Hertz location. Everything else about the property is outstanding, but allowing a consistently problematic vendor to operate inside the hotel ultimately impacts the guest experience.
Beautiful lobby, grounds are lovely and well maintained. Pools are large and have many chairs. Rooms are nice and balcony view was amazing.
Some of the shops and the arcade were not open during listed hours. Map was not accurate.
No complaints! Very beautiful.
This hotel has been on my bucket list for years, and it exceeded every expectation. My brother and sister gifted me one night here for my birthday — and what a gift it was. From the moment we arrived, everything was simply perfect. The boat rides through the indoor lagoons, the stunning grounds, the pools — it all felt like a dream. What truly set this hotel apart was the incredibly thoughtful gestures from the staff. We were treated with such care and attention that made this birthday night truly unforgettable. A once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you JW Marriott Desert Springs. We will be back
Every single detail was perfect
Beautiful hotel with a lake partially in the giant lobby (including boats floating in). Room was a good size and beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and the facilities were clean and nice. Small shopping center close by with additional restaurants.
Nothing
We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The service was poor, and the manager at the front desk was especially unprofessional and unhelpful. He seemed to have no idea how to handle guests or resolve issues. On top of that, this is not a cheap hotel, so the level of service we received was completely unacceptable considering the price. The hotel also did not look like the photos online — the rooms were outdated and felt very old. But above all, the WORST part of our stay was the service from the front desk manager. His attitude and lack of professionalism completely ruined the experience for us.
I live in Los Angeles, travel a lot for work and this weekend I took my mom to the JW for a Mother’s Day long weekend. Everything was so excellent from the minute. I called to ask some questions about the property to the minute. We left to head to another Marriott in Riverside. Most excellent was Ruby the overnight manager, who gave us very realistic expectations of this resort and we were everything but disappointed!! We were nervous. There would be too many kids and we wanted a more quiet experience and turns out that was very possible with all there is available to us on this expensive property. Guillermo, who we thought was, the concierge was too exceptional and so we were not surprised when we learned he was actually the general manager. Veronica checked us in at the front desk and could not have been lovely air. We stopped for something to eat and drink in the lobby lounge bar and Veronica. the server treated us as though we had been here 1000 times. David, the manager of the very cool lobby Lounge bar experience was truuuult exceptional. He’s the guy you hope is the manager everywhere everywhere you go. The most delicious food on the property was definitely at MAIKADO, where Sean the Manager came by to introduce himself, which was quite nice. Lisa at the Rockwood Grill is likely one of the managers in food and beverage overall because she has been here since the beginning apparently and was really incredible. She managed the Mother’s Day brunch crowd like a true boss, and never seemed stressed or harried. Sal, our waiter at breakfast today kept checking in as if we were the only people there. Dawn, the manager at the spa is a class act and the place is really wonderful. Timothy at the spa pool and Jackie at the spa Bistro are only interested in making you smile and making you happy —which is really great when you need that after a very intense and long work week. The second we put our cup of water down Tim was refilling it. The minute we felt hungry Jackie was there with a menu asking if we wanted to order some of the delicious food at the Bistro. because of my titanium elite status, I got an upgrade to a suite and it was pretty fabulous. Giant room overlooking everything and I could not have loved it or needed it more. And if you want the most smiles, go to the Starbucks in the lobby because those girls seem to really dig their job. Can’t wait to come back.
Pool area was amazing
Service was disappointing overall. I had to wait more than 30 minutes for my suitcases to be delivered to the room and wasn’t allowed to transport them myself using a trolley. The room was not properly cleaned—there were nail clippings from a previous guest left on the balcony. In addition, the shower leaked under the glass partition into the toilet area, meaning the floor was constantly wet and I had to stand in water when using the toilet. After my stay, I have repeatedly contacted the hotel to request the invoice. So far, I have only received an invoice for the extras I purchased, but not for the stay itself, which is still outstanding.
The property itself is beautiful, but it is definitely beginning to show its age. The front desk staff and valet staff were lovely. Housekeeping was hit-or-miss; a fitted sheet that didn't fit the bed, and coffee and water did not get restocked during the entire visit. In general, the staff appeared consistently overwhelmed by the volume of guests. The pool area, especially, felt like a crowded theme park rather than a spa or resort.
What an amazing place to celebrate my wife's birthday. We checked in with Veronica at the Bonvouy Elite check-in counter and what an amazing person. Her smile, demeanor and attitude simply painted a picture of stellar and genuine customer service. Veronica has the gift of greeting and servicing the clients needs at check-in. We had a fantastic time at the bar area with service from Gerardo, another Veronica, David, Ricky and Jennifer all amazing individuals. We have known Gerardo for years and he is an amazing authentic and compassionate man with a gift to serve. I often state that people and relationship far exceed the location or event and here at JW you get the best of both worlds. Wonderful people and a slice of heaven here in Palm Desert. Veronica provided us a lovely view suite with the comforts of home. Marriott offers the best in their JW lineup and we are so pleased with the amenities, choices of dining and options including the spa, fitness center and even a boat ride around the Facilities. The staff truly made our stay 5 plus stars and tomorrow we celebrate my wife's birthday at Mikado another wonderful option at JW Marriott. Being a Bonvouy card holder the point system, features and membership offers are terrific and we utilize them often. Also Michelle is housekeeping was super efficient and very kind. Great lodging, dining, amenities and an amazing array of staff members who welcome and treat you like family. A Starbucks on site, music on Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's a great breakfast option at Starwood, several bars, multiple pools and water features, shops on site and even a nightclub. An amazing resort and highly recommended.
Stayed here for the 5th year in a row for stagecoach, beautiful property- very smooth as far as the shuttles to stagecoach went. Good choices of food with late night options as well. The service is what you’d expect from a JW. The one complaint (more my wife’s than mine) is that there was literally no hot water any nights after getting back from the festival. That would’ve been between 9 pm and midnight each night if our 3 night stay. A little ridiculous there’s no hot water especially with the price we paid but again- minor for me but if you want a nice hot or even lukewarm shower at night- this missed the mark.
Booked a trip for Cochella months in advance at Marriot Desert Hot Springs Villas i and upon check in our room was double booked. We were stranded and ended up booking a room at JW Marriott for $3k a night. TOTAL taken advantage of. We are also titanium elite members and Marriott would not help with price. We had bought artist tickets and needed a place to stay. We booked it and the room was dirty, old, and no towels and we were told there were 60 people in front of us waiting for towels.... we stay at marriotts all over the world and the last few times i feel taken advantage by Marriott. I can't believe we paid that amount of money for the servise and dirty room. Sure it was Cochella so hire the staff to cover the crowd instead you took full advatage of people. Many people will not go back to Cochella
The room little small

39 years ago, I was a guest of the Marriott Desert Springs Resort on its Opening Night, never to realize that we’d be back to the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa, every year, thereafter. At that time (1987), the Marriott Desert Springs had a vibrant, new, luxury shine, and there was practically nothing around it, other than desert. Several years later, we realized that Marriott was way ahead of the ball, and selected a stellar resort destination, in Palm Desert. Now, there is development all around the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. Our most recent visit was all pleasure, and no business. This was the first visit that we can remember when the hotel did not have a large group conference, but, I believe the hotel was sold-out. Despite the density of guests, the resort was tranquil when you wanted it to be, and a happening place, when you wanted to turn that on. There are an abundance of activities at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa, including golf, tennis, pickle ball, a fabulous gym at the spa, and miniature golf, to name just a few. We had a few fabulous meals at the Rockwood Grill, and at the Oasis Poolside Bar and Grill. The lounge, in the lobby, AQUIFER65, is one happening place in the late afternoon and evening. The main pool is immaculate, safe, and a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the “Springs Pool” was not open during our Peak Season visit, and that is a loss. It seems like the hotel may be value engineering their Balance Sheet, in favor of packing the main pool. with guests, rather than spreading guests out, between the main pool and the Springs Pool. Not since the Covid 19 Pandemic, have I seen the Springs Pool open and operating, regularly, other than to host poolside banquets and receptions. The “shuttered” Springs Pool is a loss to the otherwise favorable guest experience at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa. Our room was immaculate, reasonably attractive, functional, but worn. Actually, at 39 years old, many areas of the JW Marriott Resort and Spa are showing their age, and their guest rooms, in particular, are in need of a refurbishment (something more than a “refresh”). The staff of the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa are welcoming, kind, professional, and efficient (and, they seem happy in their jobs). I have commented, before, that the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa is managed by a powerhouse, long career, Marriott General Manager, and that man has his finger on the pulse of the entire resort. I’d be very surprised to learn that there is a nook or cranny that that man has not walked, or touched, at the resort, every day. One can only hope that the current, longtime General Manager has an understudy, and when the time comes that he moves to his much-deserved retirement, that there is someone with similar leadership skills and DNA, to fill his shoes, as the JW’s General Manager. In my opinion, the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa is a high profile, high ticket resort for Marriott International, and Marriott International is/would be well suited to deploy their Best of the Best General Manager to the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. A stay at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa is costly, and not for the cash bashful; I believe a visit to the JW Marriott Desert Springs, is in-line with other like resorts. The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa is less than 30 minutes away from Palm Springs Airport. Ontario Airport is an hour away, and San Diego, LAX, and Orange County Airports are 2+ hours away. We like the Hollywood Burbank Airport, but have never flown in there, for a vacation at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. The Palm Springs Airport is a pleasure to fly in and out of. A stay/vacation at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa is as close to perfect as it comes. The hotel/resort is in need of a 40-year update. For all I know, that is in the plans.
It has genuinely been jarring just how trashy this place is and the people it caters to. We assumed due to the price that this would be a semi-luxury stay, peaceful and enjoyable. What it actually is, is a motel 6 in sheep’s clothing with nothing but drunken people and their unsupervised badly behaved children. The noise is abominable day and night. The pools are one big club party - booze, screaming, loud inappropriate music (that you will also hear in your room all day and night), and no service - if you think you’ll get served food and drinks think again. You are paying a premium for what amounts to a cheap Las Vegas day club full of skeezy drunkards and out of control kids. The rooms are filthy - the flooring is horrific as are the bathrooms. If you need anything, you won’t find any staff. They don’t answer the phone, in fact they hang it up while it rings. Even if you call from your room. If you need help, you can’t get it. The only nice thing about this resort is the grounds and view. We will never stay here again after this experience.
The coach Stacey was very nice and straight foward. Had a great class with my dad.
The property is beautiful. staff was nice but we were coming for vacation and had the following issues. We wanted a kid free pool as it was Spring Break and this Marriott always had one designated adults only pool. This trip now they made all pools family friendly. Second, we wanted to get sleep on vacation, the yard men had their blowers from 6a to 6:45a constant and woke us up and could never get back to sleep. 6a yard work is unacceptable at a hotel property. Lastly, our shower pooled water in the entite bathroom we had to use every towel and still didn’t do the job and we slipped. This was not a vacation it was work and no sleep Stay somewhere else.
En general todo está bien 🤩
Just returned from a fabulous weekend tennis retreat. Our stay at JW Marriott was wonderful. The best part was the private tennis instruction we received from Stacy and Jim. Our group was just under 10 of us, and we each felt like we got personalized attention. They took the time to really answer all our questions and planned out fun drills to help us implement what we were learning. I definitely feel like my tennis game has improved from just a short weekend with them. Looking forward to heading back at some point soon!
I had an absolute blast working with Stacy. He met my level and needs and I feel like I have a lot to take with me to continue my improvement. Highly recommend!!!
Tennis facilities and instruction were top notch! Our teenage boys attended clinics, Grand Slam tournaments, and private instruction with Stacy and Chris. The tennis director was also great to our family! Not only was the instruction high quality, but all coaches and staff were kind, accommodating, and very attentive in helping our boys fine tune and improve their tennis skills. Our entire decision to stay at this hotel was because of this tennis facility. It’s ranked among the top in the world for a reason! We hope to return every year during the BNP Paribas for another fun-filled tennis week with Stacy, Chris, and the rest of the tennis pros. Thank you!
An all-inclusive stay with accomodation and 3 hour tennis clinics each day. Fabulous instruction on the courts with Stacey, David and Zee. Thank-you for your expertise and inpiration. Beautifully orchestrated and priced by coordinator Megan O'Leary. Thank-you from all of us - a Canadian team of 9 women.
Love the hotel and its many amenities. Great lobby atmosphere with coffee shop and bar. Great restaurants onsite. Fun things to do in and around the hotel like put put golf, cycling, fitness parcour, walking trails. Went there for a tennis camp for the second time and again it did not disappoint but enrich and improve our tennis skills.
The main areas of the hotel feel like a huge mall. Very loud and busy. The hvac in the rooms is uncomfortable… very hot then very cold. But the pool is the worst. It’s so dirty. Actual dirt in the bottom of the pool and film and bandaids floating on the top of the water. The service has actually been good, however.
Wonderful experience overall. Staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Took a pickleball lesson followed by a massage. Both experiences were more than expected.
I would highly recommend all the tennis camps at the Marriott Desert Springs facility. 1. Jim Leupold and his staff provide excellent instruction on basic and advanced technique, positioning and strategy. Play is mixed in with the drills so you can practice what you learned. 2. The tennis facilities and the hotel are fantastic. 3. The chance to play tennis on grass, clay and hard court at the same location is really fun and not available at most tennis facilities. 4. The weather in Palm Desert is great for tennis most of the year. 5. I have been attending the camps for 5+ years and have always had a great experience.
Went to Palm Desert with some friends for a tennis trip. Hotel was perfect and the tennis instruction was next level! Thank you!
Beautiful property and setting but Hotel is tired and not well cared for. Thick dirt and dust on the edges of the Atrium surrounding the lobby -Restaurants on property ( with exception of bar and Sushi) are far from the main lobby and figuring out how to get a reservation can be a problem -Shower drain flooded the first morning we were there, had to be fixed by Hotel team -Valet is 45$ per night....ridiculous ! Self park available for 25$ but the lot is quite a hike from the Hotel -Our room wasnt cleaned on our last day there, no explanation. -Hotel checkin was understaffed. -Marriot Bonvoy app offered no was to contact Marriott customer service regarding our stay?
Great venue for meeting. Room was awesome. The front desk Luna was very helpful. Special kudos to Stacey Sims who was a fantastic tennis pro with helpful tips that made a difference in my game. Professional, and friendly. I will try to find him again.
Gorgeous resort. It is huge with two different sides centered by pool areas. Limited food options by pool. Conference food was good. Rooms nicely appointed and comfortable. Would stay again.
The tennis center at Desert Springs is outstanding. Today I had a private lesson with Stacy. He understood my goals and gave great instruction and tips.
4 floor is good, might have been a little close to the noise in the lobby. but overall it was good. we have to check next time, and make sure there is no tournaments for the kids at the time we arrive.
I wasn't sure what to expect having been to many resorts before. Some are OK/ cookie cutter and others are "wow". This place rocks. From the amazing entrance (with plenty of grass for our four-legged family members) to excellent restaurants to this crazy little boat ride around the property, this is a well-thought-out resort. And the gym? Oh, the gym is to die for. Diving in, Veronica Bush was all smiles at the Front Desk when we arrived. She was warm and friendly which, after all of the driving, was very welcome. She even moved things around and the Mrs. and me were put up in a nice suite. The view from the balcony was over the pool area to the golf course beyond. Talk about peaceful. Thank you, Veronica! But it wasn't just Veronica. The woman in charge of fish feeding (couldn't see her name tag and did not want to stare at her upper body as that is rude) knew how to make this simple experience fun. Families in particular got a kick out of it. The miniature golf course is wicked fun and challenging. The golf attendants took pity on me and gave me an extra golf ball as mine landed in the drink. We were here at Christmas and the hotel NAILED IT with their choice of Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Yes, the two of them were available for photos (at a fee) but beyond photos, Mr. and Mrs. Clause hosted story time and played instruments. They also comforted me when I asked them to take a photo with my dog as this is likely my dog's last Christmas. You cannot pay for talent like this. These folks just care. The included activities - bike riding, pickle ball, driving range - may not be for everyone and may make you feel like you cannot leave the resort. Pick and choose. The boat ride is well worth the $ spent but only at Christmas time I feel. Any other time and you might think you are in a short time-share presentation. I would also skip the Christmas brunch. The food was good but not exceptional. And go to the gym. Seriously. The equipment? The yoga room. Go to the gym. The Parting Glass: Please stop by and say, "Hi" to Veronica for us. She is a gem.
We unexpectedly booked a trip to Palm Springs and the hotel was on my bucket list. I love flamingos, saw the boats and decided I wanted a hotel that was a staycation. Every single staff member gave 110% of who they were. The kindness, can do attitude and the desire to make our stay a memorable one were out of this world. However Baba, was by far the one who left the biggest footprint on our heart. What started out as a simple hello quickly became a friendship which I have no doubt will span continents. Stay who you are, stay you. The hotel in itself did not disappoint- it is in fact the destination it promises to be. It offers mini golf, golf, swimming pools, an aviary, complimentary bike rides, activities for the whole family, movie nights and live music to name but a few things. Thank you for creating memories of a lifetime.
Just a note to share my dissatisfaction with the golf at this JW. We have been coming here for 20+ years and I have enjoyed both these courses consistently, UNTIL about 3-4 years ago. I was told around then some "new management" had come in and I could notice changes. First, the owner green fees quickly started climbing. I was used to playing around $100-120 as an owner in the timeshare villas. However, now they are charging almost $200 per round, IF you play at the earlier tee time (before 9am mostly). To make this worse, the conditions this year were very poor. The greens were very spotty in turf and putting was inconsistent. I played five times over a week and the practice tee assigned area never moved! So, you can imagine it looked like moon craters to the point you had to actively search for some grass to hit off of! I asked some of the associates and got only very non-committal responses that seemed to indicate that's just the way things were nowadays. Hopefully, if we come back next year, we will see some improvements, but given the last few visits, I am doubtful.
I had a brilliant session with Stacy. He was friendly, fun, helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed our time together. Would recommend him to anyone.
Overall nice place. The room can be quite far from elevators and hard to navigate around. The bed is very comfortable. The housekeeping needs some improvement. Didn’t reset previous guest alarm (so it went off at 5am) and also didn’t change shampoo bottle (was empty). The pool water is comfortable but got some bugs floating around. The food is pretty good. And party space is beautiful.
I was deeply disturbed by the indoor “aviary” at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. Many large and gorgeous tropical birds are kept in cages inside a room for guest viewing — flighted, intelligent animals confined indoors with no meaningful freedom. So sad. Not only does this conflict with widely accepted animal welfare standards, including the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare, and with guidance from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) on species-appropriate space and enrichment, but it is also especially troubling in California, a state with strong animal welfare expectations (including Penal Code §597), where the public reasonably expects humane, ethical treatment of animals! This is not conservation or education at all, it’s confinement for entertainment. I hope Marriott leadership seriously reevaluates this practice and transitions to humane, animal-free alternatives.
整体还可以,虽然办理入住手续时有点小意外,但是还是解决了。
餐厅太少了,早餐不错。
Very nice scenery and surrounding.
Room needed some tlc not worth the price imo. Paint was chipping and you could see layers of paint from the past years… the air would make a loud boom noise every time it would shut off and wake us up through the night. Very annoying.
I am a frequent traveler and a Marriott Titanium Elite member, so I base my hotel reviews on both the brand’s standards and my personal experiences. I had an extra day over a weekend in Southern California and decided to stay at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. I used a Nightly Upgrade Award and was confirmed into a suite. The room was very nice and spacious, with a great view overlooking the pool area. The bathroom was particularly large and well designed, featuring both a soaking tub and a separate shower. There was also a good-sized desk, which allowed me to get some work done comfortably. The property itself is very large, and it is a bit of a walk from the parking garage to the main lobby. Check-in was slower than expected, and I did have to ask about Titanium Elite breakfast benefits rather than having them proactively explained. I was ultimately told that breakfast at the restaurant was included as my benefit, and the breakfast buffet was quite good, with a nice selection of items. There is no Concierge or Executive Lounge at this property. The resort is expansive, and it is easy to see why it is frequently used for large group events. During my stay, there were several groups and celebrations on property. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, which added to the overall resort atmosphere. That said, the property does feel somewhat dated for a JW Marriott. While nothing was significantly wrong, there were small maintenance and wear items that stood out and detracted slightly from the experience. Service at the front desk was adequate but not at the level I typically expect from this brand. The location is fairly isolated, so having a car is necessary. There is a full Starbucks in the lobby and several restaurants on property. I also ordered room service, which was very good and convenient. Overall, this is a pleasant resort-style property with a nice atmosphere, solid accommodations, and good food. However, between the aging facilities and service that fell short of JW Marriott expectations, it did not quite rise to the level I would expect from this brand. That said, I would still consider staying here again, particularly for a relaxed resort stay
Exceptional staff, always super friendly and helpful. The integration of nature with the property was amazing, so much wildlife and water features made for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Great restaurants and drink spots: will definitely return!
Heard the drunk guy in the room nextdoor puking his guts out at about 1am multiple nights. Noise dampening materials between rooms are not excellent. The prices of the food and drinks are ultra resort-level (go figure, right?). Meal for 2 with 2 drinks each was typically around $300. Be prepared to pay for a good time.
pool
I booked 2 queen beds room. They gave me 1 king bedroom.
Horrible experience from management and security no care and very unprofessional, bad experience.
