Location was good, walking distance to town and beach.
The bed was very firm
Zwembad wel wat gedateerd.
Goed ontbijt met veel keuze.
Spa facilities, restaurant, rooms.
Extremely firm mattress,
Excellent location for beach and town. Staff very helpful. Room very clean. Lovely afternoon tea.
Having to pay for the carpark
Location was good
Very tired and misleading photos. Parking isn’t free and is £12 extra! Decor and rooms and general hotel state was very worn and weary. Bar area looked a little nicer but I didn’t visit. Showers were in a bath tub and pretty poor but hot water. TV in room was well sized and room size in general (cost double) was actually big. Balcony was not grouted properly and didn’t feel safe and window door to it was not easy to understand. Location was good and I imagine the standard was the norm for area but still poor for the price it costs.
Breakfast and room.
N/a
We booked a short break to substitute an overseas holiday that was cancelled. The hotel suited our needs of having a spa and pool, being near the sea, bus routes and restaurants. It was clean and well maintained and met our requirements. Breakfast had a good selection.
The nightly rate paid did not feel like good value for money, especially after adding the parking charge. The area near the Bournemouth triangle on one side of the hotel is now quite run down.
Location and spa facilities
No food served on a Sunday and paying for parking
All went well
Can no longer remember!
Not impressed with room for 41/2 stars I’ve stayed in better for less cost, stained curtains, net curtains hanging of, had to stand on chair to get to safe, lots of dust and cobwebs at top of ceiling, very disappointing for what they charge.wouldn’t recommend to anyone .
Price doesn’t reflect the comfort for a room that small, had to pay for parking and breakfast wasn’t included, I’ve stayed in a few best westerns and that was by far worse one.
Staff were friendly. Spa area was nice.
No hot water in our room most days. Breakfast hot items were not hot ! Bed was very hard and bottom sheet on bed was a double sheet folded In Half which didn’t fit the mattress. Big brown stain on mattress.
Restaurant was very good. The waiter was great even though he was on his own.
Bed was a little uncomfortable
Great location and good facilities. The spa facilities were really nice, although the gym is quite small. As we were only staying for a short trip, it was perfectly fine for us. The hotel is really close to the town centre and the beach, which was amazing and made it very convenient for getting around.
The only minor downside was a random noise we could hear at night. We weren’t sure whether it was coming from the air conditioning or somewhere else. The walls also seemed a little thin, so you could hear quite a bit from outside the room. Other than that, we had a lovely stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we’d happily stay again.
The pool, the staff. Room was also lovely.
I couldn’t find any towels for the spa and it was always unmanned down there but hey I survived!
Het ontbijt was prima. Suite was ruim en comfortabel, al had de kleine bank wel vervangen mogen worden.
De kraan in de badkamer liep niet erg goed; slap straaltje water.
Location
Cobwebs in room, poor quality of food
Very nice hotel very clean Comfortable situated in a good area for all amenities
The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. The location for the beach was great. Rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good.
The hotel stands within a rundown residential area, heading towards the town.
The location was perfect - less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The bar and lounge were lovely, but we weren’t there long enough to enjoy the facilities.
My bed was a little hard but not uncomfortable, unfortunately the light over the bed didn’t work but I wasn’t there long enough for it to be a problem.
Good location and friendly staff. Room clean and cleaned regularly and room well stocked and quiet.
Door lock wasn’t secure had to get maintenance and this took a long time. Locks on doors to spa were temperamental.
Lovely hotel, great staff, great facilities , good food snd drink. Very good value for money
Nothing
Staff were friendly and decor downstairs was nice
I do not think this is a 4 star hotel. I also think it is overpriced. Room was small with terrible view and someone’s swimming trunks on the roof. The room staff had black plastic bags outside every room from morning until at least 1.30pm. It was very messy and I think laundry trolleys would be nicer. I think the pool area is too small and not relaxing enough. The breakfast was okay and we had lunch which was okay too.
Excellent location, smart, clean and tidy.
Air con was faulty in our room and the one next door and even though it wasn’t on it kept making a noise all night leading to a terrible nights sleep.
Great location and comfortable room.
The flooring on the balcony is very unstable and is in real need of maintenance. Then slabs are loose and insecure
The room and balcony were nice and clean. Breakfast was great. The staff were very helpful and professional. The pool, sauna, and jacuzzi were very enjoyable.
The only problem I had was the noise at night, especially if other guests returned to their rooms late. The sound can be easily heard from the hallway and neighboring rooms, especially at night. The floors in the rooms and hallway are extremely noisy, and some of the water-heating equipment makes various sounds throughout the night!
Good sized pool. Available to use before check-in and after check-out. Included use of towels and robes. Good lunch menu, reasonably priced.
Charge for parking despite being a resident. Nasty musty smell in the steam room Beds a little too firm, only one pillow Scanty supply of tea, coffee etc and very poor quality of coffee. Room was too hot, heating was on despite being early September Had to wait some time for night porter to appear to let us in the hotel at 11.50pm
Location, Rooms, Staff, Breakfast, Pool & Spa,
Lift was small, restaurant menu wasn't impressive, AC in our room wasn't working though we got compensated for it afterwards with a discount and were also offered a swap with a different room
The hotel is such a lovely place, very cosy, very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool.
Nice and comfortable
1st night had a significant issue with the occupants of room 47 but this was dealt with by Gordon the night porter
Lovely staff. Comfortable bed. Nice spacious room. Good breakfast.
No fridge in room. Dangerous bath very slippery, no walk in shower. Limited food in restaurant. Due to a private function I was told I could not eat in the restaurant as I would have to wait too long.
Gorgeous from the outside, good location, excellent therapists and nice reception staff
The gym and spa are extremely outdated, the rooms were much smaller in real life, the experience was underwhelming and I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a 4* hotel
Location was ok, pool was lovely.
Welcome on arrival was Luke warm. We wanted to check in early and were told if we didn’t arrange it before hand it was not possible. He didn’t even ask us our names. The bath didn’t drain properly so you were showering in ankle deep water. Body lotion in the bathroom was watered down so that it was liquid. They also didn’t clean our room correctly or take away dirty glasses. When requested they do so, they still didn’t bring fresh ones after we asked. Aircon was noisy and not very cool. Also when asked could we eat in the bar were told no, only sandwiches but the place was empty. Just too many things not good. What a shame.
Steam room
Our room wasn’t cleaned between nights and the staff weren’t bothered !!
Good breakfast
Paid £12 for overnight parking as a hotel guest. Spa facilities were tired.
Location
It was very dirty once you got past reception area . Rooms and especially bathroom was grimey and shower curtain needed throwing away . Smelt and rotten at bottom
When I considered the value for money, it wasn’t worth it for the old rooms we were given. The spa was poor and felt dirty. You wouldn’t stay here specifically for the spa.
Lovely hotel, the room was clean. The staff are very friendly. The layout had different areas where you could relax instead of staying in your room. Excellent breakfast. Excellent spa facilities pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, gym, relaxation room and treatment room. Not far from the beach just a short walk down a hill. Enjoyed my stay would come back again.❤️
Very friendly staff- thank you especially to the receptionist and evening bar man/waiter!
Perfect position, short walk to the beach. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast first class. Staff were very helpful and friendly (special mention to Tomas and Hey-ji-Lee for excellent customer service ). Swimming pool was a lovely addition to the hotel.
Absolutely nothing to find fault with the hotel during our stay.
Location, cleanliness, staff, spa
Air con in room was so refreshing during the heat wave. Indoor pool was great and location is quite central. Bed was comfortable.
The bathroom and room could've been a bit cleaner - a bit of dust collection. The staff at the front desk weren't that friendly however, the bar staff were really friendly.
Dear Hotel Manager, I’m writing to make a formal complaint regarding our recent stay at your hotel between 21.08.26 and 23.08.26. Upon arrival, we were immediately met with frustration. Our reservation details were incorrect, which set a stressful tone from the start. Your front desk staff member had a awful tone with me as he was busy. I stated I can come back in 10 mins but if he could tell me where to park my car that would be great. I was told to wait which I did and 2 minutes later I reiterated my request and he then told me where to park. Upon returning to check in he had the same tone and body language which immediately changed when he saw my wife. The spa treatments we booked and paid for were not what we received. The services provided were not carried out correctly, which was extremely disappointing. I had called in advance re my treatments and was clear and concise over the booking. I was told we could have a couples massage (which would have been our first one ever) followed by additional treatments we wanted. Instead I had a call on the day (21.08.26) re the treatments as a beautician could not come into work it was all reiterated again on the phone and I was told I am sorry but no one has written any notes or details here. On the day of treatments (22.08.26) the same thing happened again and the same excuse. During the treatments me and my wife were split up I asked why and Lisa stated to me it’s because we have facials booked in straight after and they can’t do this in the same room. I asked ok so can we have a massage together as we were really looking forward to this and the whole pint of going away was to spend some time together and reconnect and Lisa said no as they don’t like guests moving around after treatments. I then find out after my wife’s massage she was moved into another room which contradicts everything. This is supposed to a relaxing place to stay and comfortable and it was far by that. The beds are super uncomfortable

Great location and great breakfast. We liked our dinner as well too,the hotel has great chefs ,it was excellent dinner
N/P
We had a lovely stay. The breakfast was very good, and the food in the restaurant was also excellent. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout. The spa and indoor swimming pool were good, and our room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. A short walk to the beach too. Overall, an enjoyable experience and we would happily stay again.
A couple of small points: the jacuzzi wasn’t working properly on our first day, the gym is quite small but adequate, and our room key card stopped working a couple of times, although the staff were always quick and helpful in sorting things out.
Everything
Nothing
Easy to find. Ample parking, great location.
The lodge seemed a bit tatty but we were staying the hotel so didn’t matter to us!
Very close to the beach. Bright and airy room. Great breakfast.
The staff were so good , very helpful and friendly . The room we stayed in was clean and the bed very comfortable. The gym and swimming pool were really good . We used both and also had a treatment in the spa . All in all a very relaxing holiday and we will definitely return for another stay
There was nothing at all that we didn’t like
The location was good. We liked that it had a gym and pool.
The shower leaked and the bath when wet was dangerously slippery.
It's a nice hotel. Quite traditional with quiet areas to chat. Gym in the lower ground is okay although it doesn't open overly early. Great access to the beach and pier
Staff not overly attentive. Prices vary massively so difficult to say whether this is good value foe money
Friendly and professional staff. Decent breakfast. Everything and everywhere nice and clean. Comfy room, nice bathroom. Spacious communal areas. Relaxed feel. No trouble parking.
Creaky floor into bathroom. The reading light by the bed wasn't working.
The pool and spa is very nice and quiet. Well maintained. The hotel was clean and staff are very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the location is excellent.
The aircon in the room was not working but they did help come up with a solution.
The pool and changing facilities were great. The room was clean and fresh.
We didn't get a warm welcome. The breakfast buffet wasn't labelled with allergens.
The hotel was positioned away from all the hustle and bustle of the centre but also within walking distance of all the amenities. The hotel was nice but a little dated in places, the room was small with tea and coffee facilities and also had a hairdryer there was shower gel provided and handwash and handcream.
I was a bit disappointed with the size of the shower cubicle I am 5ft 11in and medium built I only just fit in the shower and it was a struggle to turn around. We used the facilities and went swimming I was really disappointed that there was no facility to wring the excess water from your swimming things. I felt that the breakfast wasn’t really good value for money it was £15 per person per morning and no discount for children , my grandson had 1 slice of toast and a drink of apple juice. I think that the hotel should offer half price breakfast for children with any full paying adult.
Lovely hotel with balcony and very close to the beach
Floors were creaking
I treated my ‘special’ adult daughter to a massage today for a Birthday treat. It worked so well for her to be able to have a massage room for the two of us. She loved her more gentle Drift Away massage with Lisa, while I had the firmer massage with Hannah. My daughter loved hers but I have in particular say how fantastic my massage was. I hope to treat myself more frequently but I will always ask for Hannah.
Modern and good customer service
Room ceiling had water stains
Swimming pool and spa area good facility for families to use, rooms comfortable and hotel is well located. Breakfast is plentiful
Bathroom quite small particularly the shower cubicle, Not many staff around particularly in the evening, feels slightly neglected. Changing room facilities in the spa area could be better
An excellent location close to the beach and town centre. The staff were polite and professional, particularly on reception, in the bar area and the restaurant.
The breakfast food could have been hotter. Due to the food being buffet style, some of the food was tepid at best. The restaurant staff were very helpful and warmed our food in the kitchen.
Proche de la mer et petit déjeuner dans le jardin
Reception staff
Extremely tight parking spaces that had to be paid for. Smallest bathroom i have ever encountered, more like a cupboard.
I really enjoyed my stay at The Connaught Hotel and Spa, the receptionist who greeted me was welcoming, the entrance was fresh, modern and clean and the hotel is just a short 10 minute walk from the beach. My room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony. The spa was also very enjoyable.
My one complaint though if I had one would be that you have to have £1 ready for the lockers which was abit inconvenient and unexpected as I had only brought the clothes I went down in and my swim suit. I would also have expected towel robes but these did not seem to be available
Lovely spa facilities.
Great location and clean
Parking bays a bit tight
breakfast was good
no tv in public rooms. Had to go to the Marriott to watch the world cup. Hotel was very quiet
Good location, single room of reasonable size and very friendly staff. Breakfast had plenty of choice.
Room bathroom was small, room was close to road/car park.
Excellent food and friendly staff
Receptionist working in the spa was unfriendly and unhelpful.
Bournemouth is definitely a town that has a lot of faded grandeur and the Connaught is no exception. Like all good BW hotels though it is well maintained with immaculately clean rooms, lovely staff and good facilities including a decent restaurant and buffet breakfast. Rooms are air conditioned and so far I've not had one that isn't quiet. It's very close to the Westcliff lift, Zig Zag and longer sloping route to the beach and town centre. I'd recommend it for business and leisure travellers alike.
Beautiful and clean ..great staff
Nothing everything about the property was great
The hotel was lovely, clean, friendly staff with good facilities, I didn't get round to using the pool but it looked very nice, breakfast was good and dinner in the evening was very nice, only a small menu for an evening meal. Room was lovely, standard size, comfy bed and I booked a balcony room as that gave some out door space, which was nice.
Not really anything bad to say.
Propreté, calme, taille de la chambre « supérieure »
Petit déjeuner à améliorer, hôtel à rafraîchir. Parking payant Il est vrai que Bornemouth n’était pas la meilleure étape sur cette côte …
The breakfast staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location was great, a short distance to walk to the seafront. The pool was also a delight!
We had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready when we arrived, however we were given a complimentary drink while we waited!
Room with Balcony
RESTAURAUNT WAS FULLY BOOKED FOR A FUNCTION
Breakfast some items were warm others hot toaster not working
Air con not working
The room looked like it had been refurbished. Much lighter & brighter, better fitting furniture & a soft carpet. The food is exceptional for dinner & breakfast is now offering fresh fruit which is fantastic. The staff as ever, are helpful & friendly. Location is perfect for town or beach.
Shower was leaking out a little onto floor. Not a massive issue, we just used a towel to help. Not too keen on the daily texts, a little repetitive.
Breakfast was good
Our bed was like sleeping on a board, the hotel sent us a message in the morning asking how we slept and I told them not very good, they immediately asked if we wanted a topper and this was put on straight away
Fantastic location, right near the beach , friendly staff , lovely breakfast, nice garden
Looks nice from outside, nice spa area, nice if small balcony room, large restaurant and plenty communal sitting areas and outdoor sitting. Also liked the location
Bathroom not up to standard, more like budget hotel. Also plumbing issues in the wash basin with strongly burping, splashing out water. Some common areas in need of refurbishment. Lots of creaky/clunky noises at night
If you’re looking for a hotel with a generous helping of nostalgia, you’ve come to the right place. The corridors are so narrow you’ll perfect your sideways shuffle, the lift is tiny enough to turn every journey into a social event, and each morning you’ll be navigating piles of laundry left in the hallways as an added obstacle course. The threadbare carpets have clearly welcomed more guests than the reception desk, and the particularly bizarre fake bookshelves scattered around the hotel add an unexpectedly surreal touch to the décor. The air conditioning rattles away all night like it’s making one final heroic effort before retirement. The bathrooms are a wonderful blast from the past too, complete with shower curtains and tiles that wouldn’t look out of place in an old public restroom. The pool itself is fine, although it seems to collect rather a lot of water around the edges. The changing rooms continue the retro theme—think “municipal swimming baths” rather than “luxury spa”—and could definitely have been cleaner. The food was perfectly acceptable, but the service varied wildly between pleasant and openly hostile. Several members of staff looked as though the very existence of guests was an unexpected inconvenience. Breakfast featured one of the worst hotel coffees I’ve encountered—and that’s saying something, because expectations for hotel coffee are never especially high. It never ceases to amaze me how a machine containing what appears to be coffee beans, electricity, water and presumably milk can consistently produce such spectacularly dreadful morning gloop. If you’re a gin drinker, you’ll probably be delighted. If you fancy almost anything else, lower your expectations. A simple martini? Apparently that’s asking far too much. The drinks selection was surprisingly limited for a hotel claiming four stars. The location isn’t bad, but the advertised 500 metres to the beach must have been measured by a particularly optimistic seagull. Once you factor in the sizeable cliff between the hotel and the seafront, it’s more like a pleasant half-hour walk. Calling this a four-star hotel is, in my opinion, rather ambitious. In truth, it feels much closer to a half hearted 3 star hotel that somehow acquired an extra star along the way. We enjoyed our holiday, but that was despite the hotel rather than because of it.
We had a lovely and relaxing deep tissue massage at the Spa of the Best Western Connaught Hotel yesterday. The facilities are relaxing and the staff very nice and experienced. Lisa and Galina looked after us so well and it was the highlight of our stay. Thank you very much, ladies.
Staff were really good 😇
Great location , nice feel overall
Room a bit small.
We had another wonderful stay at Connaught to celebrate my 60th Birthday. We had room 15 which is my new favourite. We had afternoon tea, breakfast and a two course lunch in the restaurant. All three were excellent. The staff were wonderful and we had a lovely relaxing stay. Just what we needed.

L'agencement de la chambre, avec coin dressing et espaces de rangements dans la chambre.
Salle de bain un peu exigüe, et vieillote.
Tomas was absolutely exceptional! Tomas made my visit to The Connaught Hotel extra special, unforgettable and magical. Thank you Sir!
Gorgeous hotel! Lovely rooms and lovely staff. Perfect location in relation to the nearest beaches
Comfy bed. Patio door allowed the room to stay cool. Plenty of space.
The bathtub was cracked meaning we couldn't use it as it was unsafe. Dirty shower curtain. Grout in bathroom yellow. Dusty fan. The 'view' was of the car park - not the garden as advertised. The balcony had lose slabs making it feel unsafe. Very basic for the price paid.
AAA
AAA
Staff were delightful Room was clean and quiet - Breakfast was gorgeous and the environment peaceful and close to beach.
Unfortunately the shower was a huge disappointment- but in old buildings like this it wasn’t a surprise the water pressure was so poor.
Nothing really
Rooms Breakfast Badly maintenance Noisy Dirty Smelly
Pleasant Great air conditioning Good breakfast and breakfast staff Lovely garden area Close to sea
Lack of staff in the evening in bar/restaurant Expensive but it is height of the summer
Location
Single room was a box room, very small. Dirty carpets. Feels as though it's being run on a shoestring to the detriment of guests. Restaurant shut on Sundays
We really loved the location of the hotel. It was just a short walk from both the beach and the town centre, making it perfect for exploring the area. Having breakfast included with our room was a great bonus. The breakfast was delicious. Overall, it was a lovely stay, but felt it was overpriced unless you get an early deal.
We stayed in a double room, which was a good size and had plenty of space. However, the shower cubicle was extremely small and would only really be suitable for a child or a smaller adult. As someone who is 6 feet tall, I could fit in it, but it was very cramped and difficult to move around. Even simple things like shaving my legs were awkward because of the limited space. The mattress was very comfortable, which made for a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, the pillows let it down—they were very thin and quite hard. Even using two pillows didn't provide enough support, which was a real shame as it affected an otherwise comfortable stay.
Staff and management where terrible! Wouldn't take cash, then charged me extra £100 for deposit when checking in which is fine told me would be returned to me in morning. When I checked out they tried to keep the cash deposit and was told they don't do refunds.
The space was beautiful, many lounges to enjoy and a great bar. The pool and spa facilities were superb.
The bed was rock hard.
We stayed at the hotel already 3 times .. the last time was quite disappointing. Breakfast for this price was actually not worth it at all to be honest. Is better to take the walk on the beach and eat there for this price and better quality of the food. Room was ok. Atmosphere in the reception was off. The lady was quite rude. In the end we was charged double for breakfast when we eat only once and they was quite funny about it. When we mentioned that breakfast was disappointing they didn't even ask why or try to do something about it. Was not very welcoming people working over there this time. We are not very impressed with service at all. If You don't like Your job You can always change for something else but working in the place like this You need to have better and friendly approach to people. Simple.
The property itself was beautiful. It was very calming to sit in the garden with a cup of tea in the sun. My daughter loved the pool. there was a large selection for breakfast. Everything was cooked well with high-quality ingredients. The whole property inside and outside was decorated beautifully and kept spotless. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It was less than a five minute walk to the beach but the road the property is on is still quiet.
The door to our room was a bit stiff so I had to be vigilant closing it as I had accidentally left it open a couple of times. The stairs were a little bit creaky, which made me conscious of the rooms surrounding so I didn’t disturb anyone.
Location
The Tulip Suite was far too warm. Air conditioning didn't work despite the reception staff assuring us that the maintenance team would sort it.
