Wyndham Garden Fort Walton Beach - Fully Renovated

The beach was wonderful.

The first room we were put in had mold and if you touched the thermostat the entire room would be wet.

I believe someone from staff came into our room and obtained my husbands navy federal card information and tried to make a purchase for /$680 on walmart.com this has NEVER happened until our trip here and we requested towels while we were not in the room someone came in and replaced them and got his card information and tried using it but we were contacted by navy federal fraud department!

My daughter and I absolutely enjoyed our stay. We came to Fort Walton Beach to celebrate her 16th birthday. The location of the hotel was top tier. A few minutes from the beach and a few minutes to Destin. I'm going to do a tick tock video tomorrow about our experience, our stay, and our entire vacation.

Our first room had past infestation of bed bug stains all over the mattress. We brought this concern to staff at the front desk and was told if there were live bugs WE would have to leave and would not be able to get our money back. When we explained we did not see any live bugs but that the mattress was filthy and when researched it was similar to bed bug stains, he stated he could give us a new room but could not give us a refund. We talked to the house keeping manager the next day who told us there was nothing she could do and we had to wait for the manager to speak to the following day. After 2 days, the manager apologized for the lack of cleanliness and gave us free parking, in which we were not aware we had to pay for parking in the first place , 2 free drink cards & 2 games of golf. We were told we could not get any money refunded due to booking on booking.com. This was extremely disappointing, especially regarding how much we paid for this hotel. Completely unacceptable having to move buildings and change rooms because of a filthy room that was supposedly checked off as “clean” by house keeping. I usually love booking with this hotel, but will no longer recommend or stay at another hotel under this company again.

We've been here for years. The same guy cleaning the pool and he doesn't do good like he used to. We watch him from our balcony he slacks a lot now. Pools are very dirty everyday . We will probably change locations from now on. They charge 10$ a day parking we didn't mind paying because it was clean . But the staff smoke marijuana in bathrooms and elevators just much dirtier than it used to be. We've used this hotel every year but think we will change after this year.

THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH ROACHES/BUGS/RATS AND WILL REFUSE TO GIVE YOU ANY KIND OF REFUND. The elevator rating was expired and so was the fire extinguisher (exp 2024)

The view, the room, the comfort of the beds and pillows, the location of the hotel.

The floors in the lobby and the elevator were always wet and full of sand from the feet of people who came from the pool and beach. Maybe put a large rug when you enter from outside and also in the elevator and clean them or change them out daily. Not only is it gross but someone could slip. Also, the phone in our room 704 didn't work. The connection on the back of the phone was pushed in so you couldn't plug the phone in.

As soon as we entered the parking lot, we noticed how clean the parking lot was. As we entered the lobby, we could see how clean well maintained the lobby was. Staff was friendly, professional and courteous. Our room was fresh, clean and well maintained by the staff.

I would’ve appreciated a few umbrellas outside by the pool to block the sun rays

Rude staff. Very low water pressure in bathroom and the water cold in the shower.

The plaster was coming off of the outside of the building and falling onto the decks below. The boardwalk was littered with plaster and some of the boards were rotten or not supported good underneath.

The location of the hotel to the beach is absolutely perfect. With the addition of two wonderful pools, this hotel resort is a dream come true. I stay at this same hotel every year its such a great place to get away and totally relax.

Even though hot coffee is provided every morning... good hot coffee at that... it would be nice if a small breakfast was also included. The hotel does have the ability to do this, being a small breakfast shop is on location.

Everything was so difficult, first of all was difficult to find my room because it was in a hidden area looked like that I am in the basement. second, was difficult to approach the whole area pool ect or the beach area if you had chairs to carry with you.

No visible signs up for times slots for the pool, we tried going at 9:30pm or so and couldn’t get into it :(

The room was just what I wanted, clean and spacious. We were near the pool with a good view of the ocean. The staff was extremely helpful they helped my husband push the dolly to our room.

The rug in the Suite was not secure on the floor . It can easily cause someone to trip. The rug was very thin and needed to be replaced.

For us older adults the stairs over the dune to get to the beach was a little to much.

Access to the beach is why we stayed at this location. We have stayed here in the past and liked it enough to come right back!

The elevators were a little slow and warm with all of the traffic coming up and down, but that is the only thing I can think of where I wasn't comfortable. I'm not sure what they could do to get some air flow inside of an elevator.

The coffee bar wants exorbitant prices for cold donuts/ microwave burritos its cheaper to go get great food five minutes down the road not really a great perk of the hotel

The rooms are not clean. The floors are filthy. I took towels and mopped the floors because they felt so nasty. We had roaches in our room, and the refrigerator stunk bad. The furniture is so uncomfortable. After being at the beach you want to come in and relax and have somewhere to sit. The furniture is like cheap apartment stuff. Very uncomfortable almost impossible to sit on. We’ve stayed here several times because it’s budget friendly. We won’t stay again, we’ll pay more money to stay at a better place.

I stayed in August 2026. Check in was super easy as I did most of it online. Perfect view of the ocean! Easy access to restaurants and close enough for shopping, but I went for the beach! I will stay here again!

Woke up to floor covered in water from a broken ac. Slipped on floor and some of our stuff was ruined for the wetness. The hall to our room was outdoors and felt unsafe. Looked sketchy too. Lots of men around the bar area which was right next to where we had to walk for pool, our room and the beach. Didnt feel very safe. 100% not worth almost $200.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and not worth the amount I paid. The level of service and accommodations fell far below my expectations. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was rude and unwelcoming. Although I received multiple messages encouraging me to pay for early check-in, I was ultimately denied the option to check in early. When I finally entered my room, the television, air conditioning, and refrigerator were all inoperable. I had to wait for maintenance before I could even begin to settle in. The property is also not handicap-friendly, making it difficult for guests with mobility needs. The housekeeping service was equally disappointing. My room was not cleaned unless I actively searched for housekeeping staff or complained to management. Daily room service should not require guests to repeatedly ask for basic accommodations. Overall, the price I paid was absolutely not justified by the poor customer service, lack of functioning amenities, and inadequate housekeeping. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

The location is great! The view and access to the water is wonderful and the access to Destin or downtown is ideal - traffic isn’t too bad. The room was great with big, comfy beds, great living room, a large balcony, and a full kitchen. Very clean - excellent maid service every day. It can get noisy on weekends and units that overlook the pool are noisier. Staff is wonderful and very accommodating.

Went for my daughter birthday turn the big 6.I love how we are just feet’s away from the beach. The pool was fun. Kids like the rocks slide water was fair. Wish they had free breakfast it would be a game charger if they do !…Sadly they do t that’s all they are missing . So far my stay was good .family friendly we had a good time

View was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better room. Very much worth getting a suite with ocean view. Pool was so nice after leaving the beach. Nice way to relax and remove any sand in your clothes lol. I enjoyed my stay and will be back next year.

Rooms have been updated and staff visibly clean and care for the property daily. Rooms (doors/bathroom) still show some wear from years of use but should be expected after many years of use. Updates are very nice and will help maintain property for many future years. I wish there were more water bottle filling stations.

This was the tiniest hotel bathroom we've ever had; only one person could be in there at a time; there was only one hook to hang anything from. Also, the hotel was noisy, doors banged very loudly, day and night. We also found several cockroaches in our bathroom. There was a marijuana smoke smell in almost all of the outdoor areas, which lofted to our balcony.

Our stay at the Wyndham grand on Santa Rosa Blvd. was absolutely wonderful. The staff could not be more polite, responsive, and helpful, along with the extremely clean facility and every room was spotless. It also has a great bar/restaurant on one side of the pool, everything is easily accessible on the complex. Highly recommend will be staying here again.

The living room furniture was very uncomfortable. The couch had no cushion and the chairs were looked like outdoor furniture. Very uncomfortable so to watch tv we laid in bed.

dirty. bath water was rusty. old building needing more renovations. pool overcrowded. second pool they closed down after we were there 30 minutes. chlorine too high. room was so humid the floors had moisture on them if we didn't notice we would have fallen. the air had to be at 68 and then we would freeze. sheets and bedding were damp and cold. the exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work. The humidity in the room ruined the stay. we had to wear long pants and shirt and socks to not freeze.

The hotel was nice. Bathrooms could use a little update. Location was very nice. It was away from the tourist area. We really enjoyed the beach and the pool. The ladies working at the front desk were very friendly.

Loved the atmosphere, pools were clean, and rooms were clean. Tiki bar had great drinks and food as well as staff!!!

There was so much noise, from slamming doors constantly at all hours of the day and night to children screaming on the balcony above my suite and dragging of chairs throughout the day in the unit above mine. It was almost impossible to get a good night's rest with all the noise. There was also a smell of mildew upon entering the room and when opening the door to the AC unit, it was cut in half and had black mold all over the exposed wood of the interior of the door. This was found after my having a flare up of hives and watery eyes after sleeping the first night. Also, I was given a paper at check in that stated that they would not issue a refund or allow for a room change after the guest sleeps in the room. Absolute horrendous.

The vent in the bathroom had wires that were sparking and smoking. If we wouldn't of noticed or left the light on the entire place could have caught fire and killed people. The front desk staff did not seem to appreciate this information, they did not even bother to come to check the room. All that happened was maintenances came and took out the wires. The maintenance staff were so surprised and made hand expressions like the whole place could have went up in flames and it very well could have. Smoke was billowing out, the vent cover was obviously burned and you could hear the wires sparking as soon as you flipped the light switch. If it would have been my younger daughter who had turned the bathroom light switch on she would of not noticed and probably would of left the switch up (she is nine and always leaves the lights on) in a hurry to return back to the pool. This situation could have turned out very tragic. I would not have expected this to happen in a fully renovated building. I would not have expected this to happen in any place I stay let alone a hotel that is trusted to provide a safe for families to stay. I was so shocked we werent shown any kind of appreciate, you would of at least expected a free meal or room upgrade/discount. We didnt even get an option to change rooms.

Thermostat was broken. It was reported and fixed. One shower did not have any shelving of any kind to put soap shampoo on. I refused to put my soap on the floor. There was a hair on the toilet when we first entered the unit. The other bathroom had a shelf in the shower, but it was broken, tilting down therefore could not be used. The remote control was disgustingly sticky. I had to put it in a bag in order to use it. The icemaker in the refrigerator did not produce any ice.

We were passing through the area and stayed for one Saturday night. The front desk was very friendly upon our arrival. The house cleaning staff was very accommodating & friendly. The breakfast at the coffee shop was very tasty. The cocktails at the bar were tasty also. The room was clean. We enjoyed our stay.

Book this getaway for me and my husband read the reviews everything looked good however the room was very small the tub had rust the bed was not sturdy one of the little chairs had a crack in it and the most unsettling thing having to get up and kill the roach on the tv the last night i do realize this particular hotel host families and there’s food around but I’m not used to poor accommodations you guys scored an 8.7 on booking. Beach front and beach/ocean view was great.

Housekeeping was hit/miss. They were late cleaning and stocking the room with fresh towels, coffee and etc. and one day they didn’t bring any coffee or cups at all and we had to get coffee from the front desk and cups from a different housekeeper down the hall.

After returning from dinner one evening, we found a large amount of water covering the tile floor in our condo. It was enough to create a serious slip-and-fall hazard, so we called the front desk. Maintenance arrived but never introduced himself, never entered the room, and never even looked at the floor. From the doorway, he simply told us to lower the thermostat because it was “condensation.” I spoke with the manager, who explained that they recommend keeping the thermostat between 66–68 degrees due to Florida’s humidity. While I appreciate the explanation, this information was never provided at check-in or posted anywhere in the condo. We had the thermostat set at 70 degrees, which most guests would consider a reasonable temperature. The manager did offer to move us to another room, but it was already bedtime, and she assured us lowering the thermostat would solve the problem, so we chose to stay. My biggest concern is guest safety. The amount of water on the floor was far more than what I would describe as normal condensation, and someone could have easily slipped and fallen. If maintaining a specific thermostat setting is necessary to prevent this, guests should be informed before it becomes a safety issue. I also believe maintenance should inspect reported problems rather than diagnosing them from the doorway. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.

Beach access was perfect and the Gulf view rooms are worth it!! I feel like we got our first beach side hotel experience we were hoping for.

More Amenities would be nice. Everything was upgraded in the bathroom except the tub/shower. Also the TV is not a smart TV... we bring a roku with us when we travel for this reason in case the hotels not upgraded, but the Internet and wifi is very bad. Can't even connect to the wifi and watch reels.

I do not recommend!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! We arrived at 11pm from a long trip and once I went to bed. I found a bed bug in the bed I told the front desk person I even took it to him and he confirmed it was. So I ask to change my room he said no i needed to leave that that’s there policy. Mind you it was 2am where was I going to find a hotel room at that time no where. So I had to stay in a Publix parking lot worst experience ever and service was awful!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Baby Roaches! I’ve stayed at this property several times. This time was different! This is the last time! This time I told my sister in law and her family to come here as well. Our room had to be cleaned again. But when she first gets in her room she opens the fridge and bugs crawling in the seam of the door. They changed her room. A few days go by and a baby roach drops out of our fridge!! And another one on the floor! We call the front desk. Someone comes to spray with home defense! No type of professional grade stuff. She told me she didn’t have another room I told her at this point changing rooms wouldn’t matter anyways bc they have been in two separate rooms. She said she couldn’t even take a night off of my bill or do anything because the “board” was on a cruise. How they handled this situation was horrible. They did not care at all! I will not be recommending this place to anyone ever again!

Clean, updated, close to everything and had beach chairs rental available! Also loved the 2 pools and having 2 restaurants on site.

No oven! And our elevator went down on the last day but staff was very helpful and helped get our luggage down stairs!
