My bathroom was not good, very old, and the shower head didn’t sit in the holder well, always twisted pointing to one side.

Imagine you're sent to a new city in China, you've both been business travelers for 40 years, and your vendor INSISTS you stay at their favorite local hotel - the Marco Polo in Xiamen. Knowing their quality level, the bar is high. But we had no idea of the level of pampering and personal service we would receive! Every single person we met, from door openers to bakery staff, and especially the front desk, sales, concierge and Club Level restaurant, we were wowed every single day. They remembered our names. Greeted us like old friends. Were genuinely concerned about what they could do to better our stay. Our 7th floor Club level room was gorgeous, very spacious, well appointed. The food was marvelous and full of variety for our 2 week stay. But the people who worked there were the biggest bonus - Vincent & Bob - spectacular interactive support, bubbly problem-solver Karen - who welcomed us daily and helped us with travel contacts, Amy, Joy, Ella, Edward, Denise, Cary, Nancy, Owen, and so many of the Club Lounge attendants who pampered us and were beams of sunshine each day. We would stay nowhere else when visiting Xiamen again. With love from raving fans Mary & Joseph!

Marco Polo Hotel has been my choice over the last 15 years in Xiamen. The hotel itself is getting old but it has been refurbished and the standard of service is excellent. It is well located in an area where there are a number of bars, coffee shops and restaurant suitable to Australian taste.

We had a lovely time at Marco Polo Xiamen. The suite was spacious and well-appointed. We enjoyed the executive lounge and their offerings. Most of all, we appreciated the staff (Aries, Amy, Betty, Suki) who were all very welcoming and helpful! Aries especially helped us to locate a lost item. The hotel was spotless, the staff were friendly and attentive, the breakfast was delicious with a good variety of choices, and the location was perfect. I highly recommend staying here.

It is a good hotel located in a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere with each visit. The kindness of all the staff makes me want to visit again. With a long experience, it is the best hotel in Xiamen. However, it can be said that the disadvantage is to make some room facilities feel a little old over time, but there is no great inconvenience. However, as new and luxurious hotels continue to emerge, I think hotel-level renovation is necessary to enhance competitiveness.

Beautiful foyer and rooms were perfect - staff were exceptional in their communication and assistance at all times. Wonderful breakfast!

It was an amazing experience. Every detail was very well take care of, from room service to cleanliness. I highly recommend to take the breakfast buffet as it includes a high variety of foods including very well prepared local cuisine. Victor was really good and really took care of all our questions. A ver pleasant trip, I'll be sure to come back.

Marco Polo is a nice hotel but showing its age. It would really benefit from a program to update the rooms. Leaky faucets etc in the bathroom. The rooms are just overall generally worn out. But they have great staff & the overall experience is good.

It checks all the boxes. Lovely location. Rooms are big. Cleanliness and facilities are superb. The continental club business floor is a definite must! Betty made every visit special. Constant checking up on you. Amazing service with constant smile. The food selection is top notch. This is by far one of the best hotels! Must try!

The hotel is an older hotel but maintained very well. Staff is obviously managed very well, its clear that everybody put pride into their work. Great experience from checking in, room experience, breakfast (very attentive staff) to check out. I did not try the pool put it look great.

The location of Marco Polo Hotel is fantastic while I stay in Xiamen. There is a big park just next to it, I was going for a walk. Also very nice lake. Hotel staff always helpful and kind. I felt very comfortable while I stayed in Marco Polo Hotel.

Top Lage, Top Steakhouse im Hotel. Wer einen Italiener sucht, findet das Unico im Hotel, es gibt aber andere top Restaurants um das Hotel herum. Service wie immer sehr gut.

It's too old, it needs a renewal urgently. From the room to the swimming pool, everything need to be renewed.

The location is good. The room is very clean and spacious. The buffet was decent for the price, guest gets discount. The reception was friendly, and the lobby of the hotel also quite nice.

Voorts de manager Vincent die ons verblijf een extra plus heeft gegeven met zijn adviezen. Ook de chauffeur Jerry verdient een compliment met zijn uitstekende rijstijl en service. Tot slot medewerkster Ella : Zeer attent en for you I will come back !

Niets. Maar als ik een advies mag geven : leer de medewerkers nog beter engels spreken. Als dat niveau omhoog gaat , is het echt een tophotel die zeker 5-star waard is.

We arrived on 5/1 and it was the holiday period - but we were warmly welcomed by the very hospitable reception staff. Food in the hotel is excellent and has a diverse spread including nasi lemak for breakfast on top of the local noodles and western food. The Continental Club floor is excellent for quiet work/ conversation and meeting up plus food and wide selection of drinks/liquor. The hotel location is excellent and offers excellent connectivity to the Metro and bus stops and travelling by public transport is very reasonable. Taxi of course is readily available. more importantly the hotel is located is a serene neighborhood with amenities of the nearby park / lake/ food /restaurant /supermarket. Take a walk in the Healthy Footpath walkway at the back of the nearby mountain - this walkway is some 25km long and we walked almost 8 km in the evening and the sight in Xiamen is too beautiful and stunning to describe. Enjoyed very much this place.

We forgot to bring our electric tooth brush head. As we could not find a shop that sells it in the neighborhood of the hotel, we approached the counter staff, Chris, for help. He helped to purchase online (after browsing through many heads and ascertaining with me the correct head) as we are not familiar with local apps). Also as we do not have online payment mode, he willingly accepted cash from us and help with the payment. And the delivery was within an hour as assured by Chris. An exemplary service rendered.

I had enjoyed the lake just near the Marco Polo hotel, and it was so easy to access to the downtown for shopping.

Very good location. Just across the road is a park with endless walking paths. I found the group that work at the Concierge desk, all of them, polite and very resourceful. The Lady captain, Jenny, at the breakfast restaurant, is in a class by herself. She welcomes, leads, serve, and finds you anything you ask. The Italian restaurant serves good food, very reasonably priced. Nice neighbourhood. Good food options in small neighborhood restaurants. Surly service at the attached Starbucks.

The hotel is probably reaching the point where it needs some refreshing. A cosmetic refurbishment. It was a little bit tired. A few things broken in the room. Stained floor tiles.

Loved it, great location, spaces for running, good food from their restaurant, and good gym (though I had to request it to be open very early in the morning). A solid grocery store nearby, too. I'll definitely yo back.

I consistently get no hot water in my shower and the air conditioner didn’t work properly. Breakfast was not up to the usual standard of previous stays. Hotel felt tired and not properly maintained.

This was our first visit to the Marco Polo Hotel in Xiamen. We were impressed by the hotels old world charme and convenient location. The staff were very attentive, service was prompt and efficient. It features an array of restaurants to choose from. The atrium Lobby Lounge has a cosmopolitan feel to it. Try the flower Latte, its really nice. The only issue we encountered was the room being too warm and the AC is not cooling sufficiently but they managed to fix it after some time. The street behind the hotel has some cute coffee shops and wine bars. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Fabulous open atrium lounge. A hotel with history and charm. Personal and pleasurable change from chain hotels. Gym was better than most hotel gyms of this category. Restaurant choice good if you are working and don’t want to go out. Chinese better than the italian. Great bar service.

Only one thing to improve: lounge time need to be back to 9:00 pm - need bing fair with the customers. Thanks for a lovely stay :)

Great time in Xiamen, and fantastic facilities in the Marco Polo. I had to use the Continental Club quite intensely to prepare for meetings, and the service and attention delivered by Betty, Amy and Clare was extraordinary! So good to have these facilities, and the excellent service that goes with them!!!

I have been travelling for some time and also in China, but my experience af the Marco Polo in Xiamen tops it all. The warm welcome, the incredible professional work of especially Nancy at the check in made me write this feedback. The word WOW could have been enough but her work and of her colleague was to good and to friendly without becoming “overdone and nagging” to leave unnoted And then the room ….what a joy to come “home” after a long full day of work. I often stay at the Marco Polo Xiamen and it always feels a bit like coming home. The location is fantastic — right by the beautiful Yundang Lake, with a great path around it for jogging or walking. The area around the hotel is full of cafés, restaurants, and bars, creating a lively and pleasant atmosphere. The hotel itself is not the newest, but it has character and soul. There’s a certain “old money” elegance to it that gives the place a special charm. One of my favorite things here is the outdoor swimming pool — even in winter, a cold swim there feels incredibly refreshing. The staff are consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming. Since I stay here often, it feels like the team remembers you and genuinely cares. A particularly enjoyable moment of the stay is breakfast in the Business Lounge on the 8th floor. The atmosphere is bright and positive, the selection is not huge but everything is very tasty, and the service is excellent. Special thanks to Clare, a trainee working in the lounge. She is not only very friendly and welcoming, but also attentive and professional. Her warm smile and positive attitude make the start of the day especially pleasant.

Breakfast is outstanding, Good coffee and lots of variety. You feel welcome when entering the breakfast area.

The shower doesn't have a thermostatic tap and your showering when standing inside the bath tub. A shower curtain is used. All works well and the bathroom is nice and clean so no reason to avoid but this is somewhat outdated.
