ONSEN RYOKAN YUEN SHINJUKU

I loved the feel of the property it was so lowkey and intimate. The staff was attentive at check in and Onsen was beautiful.

Unfortunately my bedding did not smell fresh. It’s as if they didn’t wash the sheets or covers. I also did not like that you cannot control the room temp in each room. The lobby was nice and chilled and once I got into my room I was sweating.

No real lobby or a comfortable area to hang out in. I understand the restaurant is in renovations currently, but not even coffee provided in the morning downstairs. For the price we paid not worth it. The rooms are tiny so sucks to not have a lobby to hang out in

Un super hôtel, très bien placé dans la ville ! Le personnel est très sympa et bienveillant pour un prix hyper abordable ! De plus le Onsen est parfait après une longue journée de marche, tout est propre et bien à notre disposition pour qu’on ne pense à rien. Bravo

מקום מהמם, נמצא ממש ליד הסבן אילבן. היה נוח להתנייד ברכבות מאחר והתחנות היו במרחק של 10-15 דקות. התארחנו אמנם רק יומיים, אבל היה מקסים.

לצערי, סגרנו חדר שהיה קטן מדי, אבל מאחר וזה היה בהתחלה של הטיול זה היה סביל.

Atmosfera i obsługa na najwyższym poziomie. Od samego początku czekał na nas poczęstunek, a personel mówi po angielsku i jest bardzo pomocny. Lobby jest genialne, a muzyka robi świetne wrażenie. Pokój czysty i komfortowy! Onsen na dachu był dla mnie niesamowitym doświadczeniem. Niestety mam tatuaże i w wielu miejscach nie mogłem skorzystać z onsenu, a tutaj pozwolono mi wejść, co bardzo doceniam.

Staff, amenities that were available, service. The construction impacted my stay. But the establishment did a great job of informing me ahead of time so I was prepared.

Better than ever expected! Not too far away from the Metro Stations/Express Busses (e.g. to Gotemba), Shrine nearby, calm street, next to a 7/11. If you can't decide whether you want to stay in a very traditional Ryokan or in a modern Hotel, choose this modern Onsen Ryokan with nice Yukatas and cute socks, prefect for your Japan feeling.The room with city view is worth it.Tattoos were ok in the onsen. Very friendly and professional staff, clean rooms. Rooms are typically small (same as in Paris ;)). Note: Luggage transfer available, needs two days. Your welcome beer is totemo oishi, guys! Thanks for everything.

Tout est merveilleusement bien pensé avec goût et dans le moindre détail. Les chambres sont agréables et optimisées. Le lieu offre une véritable parenthèse hors du temps après une journée à visiter Tokyo. Et le onsen avec vue sur la ville est incroyable.

The Onsen is the highlight of the property and it’s close to both Shinjuku-Sanchome and Shinjuku-Gyoemmae Stations (10 mins walking). Rooms are extremely clean and it is very relaxing. The best hotel I’ve stayed at in Japan. We loved it so much we came back after our original 1 night stay for another two nights.

We stayed during the renovations so the restaurant was closed but we still loved the hotel so much that we will come back after.

距离地铁站有一些远，但是完全可以理解 玻璃窗对出去并不是城市夜景，估计是地段原因也是可以理解的

Incredible luxury design and great value for money

the onsen was amazing! the rooftop view, and ice cream at the end was great. The room was clean and tidy, the amenities were also great. the location was central and close to the train to get to central shinjuku / shibuya.

Location was in a quiet part of Shinjuku, right across the street from a 7/11 so very convenient to step out for a snack or drink. Rooftop Onsen gives a spectacular view of the city especially at night. Very friendly staff.

Room was incredibly small. No room to move around or organize luggage. Recommend packing light if staying here. This next part is way more about my personal preference as by the time we got to Tokyo my feet were in bad shape and it was painful to walk. Ubering is expensive in Tokyo area so it is more efficient to use the metro. However the closest metro is about a 12 minute walk from the Ryokan. Not a problem for most, but was an absolute nightmare for me. Central Shinjuku is a similar walking distance. People who have sturdy feet will love this location, I personally suffered.

温泉は空いていて、朝も夜もゆっくり入れました。露天風呂からの新宿夜景が綺麗でした。ミントアイスとオレンジアイスが、時間制約あるもののサービスで温泉入り口に置いてあり、美味しかったです。夏用のミント系シャンプーがありました。部屋にはお茶菓子と、緑茶ほうじ茶がありました。入り口の目の前、真正面に、コンビニがあります。

温泉入り口のお花ひまわりが毎日枯れて行くのが残念。また、客のいる時に、スタッフが冷水器用の水を、洗面台の水道から入れていたことが残念。ヘアオイルを持参しないと部屋にはなかったので、ホテルのシャンプートリートメントでは髪がぱさつき、コンビニで購入しました。また、部屋にはドリップコーヒーがなくて、コンビニで買いました。

The rooms are a little bit small specially for travelers with big luggage and sometimes there was a lots of dust coming from the air vents.

It was an adjustment as a wester european to eat only traditional japanese food and also have strict food times of when you need to be down in the restaurant.

Beautiful hotel which has a very spa-like feel to it. Very clean and staff were very friendly. Lovely to have the onsen available and the rooftop area had stunning views of the city.

Slightly further away from subway/metro stations so always had a 10-15 minute walk before getting the train, which added up when we were doing a lot of siteseeing. Room also very small, no room to open suitcases on floor to get clothes out.

Hotel con onsen en la planta superior, con vistas a la ciudad. Es muy bonito y especial. Las habitaciones son también muy bonitas.

La distribución del baño era un poco incómoda, porque el lavamanos estaba “en la entrada” de la habitación, y el WC y ducha en el baño. Tomamos un día el desayuno tradicional que ofrecen, y la verdad que el servicio parecía poco profesional. Se les veía poco atentos, parte del bufet estaba vacía. Por el precio que pagamos por el desayuno, esperábamos algo que estuviera a la altura.

Fantastiskt hotell! Lugnt och avslappnande vilket fick en att känna sig hemma. Onsen var ett bonus som verkligen behövdes efter långa dagar. Rekommenderar starkt! Själv kommer jag återvända nästa gång jag besöker Tokyo!

The facility is modern and clean; it’s really easy to get comfy. The city view during the night was gorgeous from both the Onsen (18th floor) and our own room. And one smaller thing: several water stations were available— thumbs up for that.

The number of washing machines and the dryer was not quite enough to meet the demand; we gave up doing laundry that night and slept early instead. The breakfast was not available until November 2026, I appreciate that they did inform us about the construction as we booked. It is still an experience that we couldn’t enjoy, so I mention it here.

Die Unterkunft war sehr schön! Alles war sauber. Das Onsen ist sehr schön, mit tollen Ausblick auf die Tokyo Skyline (insbesondere nachts). Direkt gegenüber ist auch ein 7 Eleven 😉

Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig! Kann passieren, dass man einen Zimmernachbarn abkriegt, der nachts noch sehr laut telefoniert…

Hochpreisig für ein sehr kleines Zimmer, welches durchdachter eingerichtet hätte sein können. In der Preisklasse hätte man außerdem noch deutlich mehr auf die Sauberkeit im Zimmer und den Fluren achten können. Lange Wartezeiten am Aufzug, da es für 17 Etagen nur zwei Aufzüge gibt. Das Zimmer ist (wie angegeben) sehr klein. Zu zweit mit Koffern würde ich eine größere Zimmerkategorie buchen

La estancia fue perfecta y la experiencia en el ryokan nos encantó. Todo estaba muy cuidado, limpio y pensado para disfrutar de una auténtica experiencia japonesa. Las instalaciones, el servicio y la atención fueron excelentes. Sin duda, un alojamiento de 10 que recomendaríamos y al que volveríamos.

Como único aspecto a tener en cuenta, la habitación era bastante pequeña y había poco espacio para abrir y organizar las maletas. Aun así, esto no afectó negativamente a nuestra estancia, que fue fantástica.

ONSEN Ryokan was a very nice hotel near the main Shinjuku district. Overall staff were great, friendly and accommodation was clean perfect if you are generally out all day sight seeing.

Rooms are very small and don't really suit more than two people - so if you are a family, possibly grabbing two rooms is the best option.

The front of the hotel was beautiful, and my partner went to the onsen and said it was excellent! The staff were friendly and helpful.

The size of the room was clearly stated in the description however we didn’t pay attention to it. As others mentioned, there was no space at all for our suitcases, it was really tiny. It would be good for a weekend get away but definitely not suitable for travellers with luggage.

My stay at Onsen Ryokan Yuen was highly enjoyable, offering a great balance of traditional Japanese atmosphere and modern comfort. While the facilities were excellent, a highlight of my trip was meeting a staff member named Mr. Yu on my final day. Even though we only connected at the end of my stay, he made a real difference. As a European traveler, I appreciated that he speaks fluent German, English, and Japanese, and clearly understands European culture. Being an athlete himself, he noticed my interest in health and wellness and asked me about my fitness lifestyle. This shared connection and his genuine conversation made my stay feel much more personal and meaningful. I highly recommend this ryokan, and want to extend my sincere thanks to Mr. Yu for his hospitality.

The restaurant is under construction. Looking forward to coming back once this is completed.

Le perso elle est très souriant et très très serviable. La chambre est belle et propre.

Méfiez vous des photos, vous n’aurez pas vu sur la ville comme peut le faire croire les photos. Les onsens sont accessible uniquement nu par conséquent les femmes et le hommes séparer donc pour un séjour en couple…

露天風呂からの夜景が綺麗だった 最初ブラインドが上がらない、洗面所の流れが悪かったがスタッフさんに言ったら部屋をすぐに変えてくれたので嬉しかったです。北海道から行ったのでとても良い思い出になりました。

Wejście główne i lobby to świetna wizytówka hotelu. Onsen na najwyższym piętrze z widokiem na miasto, bardzo dobrze wyposażony w kosmetyki, dostępne zamykane szafki. Blisko sklepy spożywcze. Obsługa bardzo przyjazna.

Pokoje są naprawdę bardzo małe, trudno się tam obrócić. Do tego wentylacja i klimatyzacja regulowana tylko centralne, w pokojach było ciepło i duszno, to chyba największy minus tego obiektu. Wysoka cena niestety nieadekwatna do jakości.

Segunda vez que nos hospedamos en este hotel, en calle tranquila en pleno Shinjuku, el onsen es excelente con todos los detalles (incluso helados cuando sales del baño!). El personal fue muy amable y atento con nosotros, incluso nos dejaron las maletas dentro de la habitación cuando llegaron a través del servicio de takkyubin (con la empresa Kuroneko)

Excellent service, very helpful staff. Clean and excellent rooms. We had a double bed futon, bathtub, traditional table.

We would have appreciated a breakfast option, or a suggestion for where to get breakfast.

The location in a more quiet part of Shinjuku is great, near 7/11 or nice restaurants. Great expirience for the evening onsen with amazing view of the city from the 28th floor.

Fabulous property - super clean, modern but with a distinctly Japanese feel. The onsen was amazing and the staff super kind and helpful. Rooms are not large which is typical of Tokyo but have everything you need.

This hotel was run by a very charming team. It was situated in a very lively neighbourhood but was sufficiently tucked away to be quiet. Nice spa.

Lacked breakfast facilities and the room was a tad small. The duvet was far too small.

Staff welcomed us very warmly. Room was bigger than we expected, with a shower, toilet, desk area, and of course the bed. We also got a discount for "construction" but we never heard any construction, so huge bonus there. The whole building seems new, so everything is fresh and modern.

It's a bit far from Shinjuku station (15 minutes on foot), but the price was right and there are other stations closer.

The onsen was the highlight!

Wonderful stay, highly recommend. The hotel was beautifully kept, very relaxing and inviting. Staff were so kind and lovely. Bed was very comfortable. Onsen was amazing and the view from the room and Onsen was so cool.
