Walkable from the York station carrying two heavy carriers (as a woman). Comfy, cozy pretty interior, and most of all, the BEST staff. I am willing to visit again with my loved ones.

the only downside which is no fault of the staff, was the noise on the road outside at night, I suppose if your room faced the back it would be ok

This is a lovely B and B. It was about 5 mins walk from the train station although about 25 mins walk from the city centre. We chose to walk rather than use the bus. We had been on the road a while so had large baggage. Tarquin carried the cases upstairs for us. We were thrilled with the extra touches in the room - bottled water, Yorkie bar, cookies, tea coffee and hot chocolate. This was replenished in the morning. The room was comfortable and included a desk, TV and 2 chairs. A fan was available. The road outside was quite noisy from the traffic until about midnight. The breakfast was excellent. Cooked breakfast and other options were available and there was a buffet with fruit juice, yoghurt, various cereals, grapefruit and fresh fruit salad containing a wide variety of fruit. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate was served by the waitress.

My only suggestion would be extra hooks for coats etc. However, there was a rail with a few hangers.

Welcoming, comfortable and clean rooms, plenty of little added extras. All instructions re arrival very clear. Delicious breakfast cooked to order (order the previous day/evening) with lots of options.

Apple House was perfect. Great location VFM, hosts amazing, breakfast delicious. Every last details had been thought about even down to extras in your room. Highly recommended

Some of the room's features could use an upgrade.

I had a wonderful room in the loft with kitchen facilities and even a much needed washing machine. I had been in a higher rated hotel in Baron Tweed and coming here was like moving from the dog kennel into the palace! Because it was the loft my room has a sloping ceiling which might be difficult for taller people. For me it was perfect as I am only 5 foot eight. Fine breakfast with a very generous fruit bowl, yoghurts, fruits, fruit juices et cetera as well as the cooked English breakfast.

Great location within walking distance of York minster, York train station, the National railway museum and a very good Wetherspoons. Comfortable beds, nice rooms and room 2 had a view of the trains going past without being too close and noisy. Great fried breakfast, with cereals, yoghurts, fruit etc. Myself and my teenage son would definitely stay again.

The hosts are so warm hearted, and were trying to help us whenever they figured out what were in our need. They even designed new breakfast to suit our wishes.

Everything is just excellent and beyond my expectation. We have nothing to complain.

A very pleasant place to stay a few nights, well-located near the train station and old town, with some good restaurants, cafes, and grocers a few minute's walk. The breakfast was tasty and the owners were very kind and helpful.

Excellent breakfast, really comfortable bed, nice room, lovely hosts. The location was also great asnjustba short walk into the city. Plenty of parking space too. Some lovely touches in the room...husband enjoyed the free chocolate and the biscuits 😋.

Room was very dusty needed a good clean, the shower was all black in the corners.

The staircase leading up to the attic room felt like it was used for storage with Hoover's left out, travel cots, etc. The room contained a small kitchen (!). All through the night, I was woken each time the motor of the fridge started to run. The ensuite had a sizeable gap running the length of the wall dividing it from the bedroom. Not ideal if I were sharing the room with another. Very hot at the top of the property but unable to open windows due to noise of nearby train station. I arrived to check in with a friend who was staying at a property nearby. I felt I was treated with suspicion as to whether 2 of us were intending to share the room when it was only booked for 1.

There is no lift making the upper floors difficult to access if you have mobility issues, however there are 2 ground floor rooms available

Top floor in converted attic. Too cramped. Air Conditioner not working and could not be fixed. Room was 35C ! Too many narrow stairs I and my wife are over 80 and found it hard. Not alternative accomodation.

We were in a back room and in the very hot weather it was too noisy near the railway to leave the windows open

De kamer was goed uitgerust: koelkast, magnetron en zelfs wasmachine. De eigenaar was vriendelijk. Plek in de stad was prima.

Ik de week ervoor een upgrade gedaan naar een duurdere kamer met airco, maar die werkte niet. De eigenaar heeft geprobeerd hem te maken maar dat lukte niet. Het was bloedheet op de zolder. Een compensatie was hier op zijn plaats geweest. Verder vond ik alles wat gedateerd en niet helemaal schoon.

Frokosten var fantastisk med både varm mat, kornblandinger og fruktsalat med friske bær. Rommet og omgivelsene var rene og ryddige. Fellesrommet var perfekt til brettspill på kveldene. Beliggenheten, kort vei til sentrum og snarvei til togstasjonen. Spisesteder og dagligvarer i umiddelbar nærhet. Kino i nabolaget. Personalet var hyggelige og hjelpsomme.

Det var hetebølge og da ble det litt for varmt på rommet. Vifta hjalp litt. Ingen mulighet til å holde drikke kaldt på rommet.

I liked the location, nearby the Railway Station and a short walk to the National Railway Museum it suited me very well.

Not a lot I can say, it would be unfair to comment on AC as thrre was a heatwave and had provided a fan that managed to cool me down through the night

The location was great, with a car park and not too far from York city centre. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and they catered for my husband’s coeliac disease. Would stay here again when visiting York!

La señora que nos atendió muy amable , el desayuno a elegir el plato principal , yo elegí el british, muy rico todo, aparte una mesa con opciones de dulce, yogurt , fruta fresca , cereales. La habitación en el ático , seria el 3er piso , difícil subir las valijas, pero tenia lavarropas, cocina , una mesa con dos sillas. Nos esperaban con chocolate que me hizo muy bien apenas llegué!! Aparte había té , café . La cama muy cómoda, si bien hizo mucho calor había aire acondicionado!!! Estuvo muy bueno , lo recomiendo!

Todo excelente, solo tener cuidado si no pueden subir las valijas , elijan una habitación mas abajo.

I thought the location was very good, we found it perfect for our visit. It was a quick walk into town and a short taxi ride to the races. The hospitality was very nice, we were made to feel very welcome and they went out their way to please. We enjoyed the breakfast too, lots of choice of healthy options too.

The only thing that let the accomodation down was the shower, it took a while to get the temperature right and even then the water pressure was quite low.

freundliche begrüssung mit infos über york :) doppeltes kissen, wow. besitzer:innen wohnen nah, immer jemand erreichbar. geräumig für ein "kleines" zimmer, was wir gebucht haben. stadtzentrum sehr gut zu fuss erreichbar. bahnhof auch sehr nah (inklusive tipp für eine abkürzung vor anreise)

dusche war etwas niedrig für mich (185cm), scheint unter einer treppenschräge eingebaut. etwas eigenartiger geruch (putzmittel?) den wir etwas unangenehm empfanden, verflog mit der zeit. es gab ein fenster, aber von der treppe zum parkplatz hat man genau in unser zimmer geschaut (wir hatten die wahl zwischen dunkelheit und weniger privatsphäre). im kamin und in den radiatoren gab es schon eine menge staub (ansonsten aber sauber). insgesamt alles nicht so schlimm, würden beim nächsten mal vielleicht einfach ein anderes zimmer nehmen :)

The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful - telling us about all the good places to go for dinner that weren't far away. The room was clean and comfortable and the facilities were all good. Great location too, everything was within a 15/20 minute walk.

If I had to be slightly critical of anything, the room was a little dated and could do with a little modernising. But it was comfortable, clean and functional so not really a complaint.
