The location near to the travel network plenty of shops , nice clean hotel and nice friendly atmosphere.

The room location was up 2/3 flights of stairs and no lift available. After saying that we didn't ask for a lower room.

Lovely friendly staff gave us a good welcome on arrival. Room was clean and roomy. Bathroom had a bath which is always a bonus.

TV was tiny!, Breakfast starts too late (7.45am for cooked).

El.alojamiento era muy lindo, prolijo y limpio. La habitación estaba impecable. Sin mencionar el.desayuno que fue fantástico. Si bien hay q caminar un poco hasta el centro histórico, esta cerca de la estación de tren por lo que nos resultó cómodo caminando.

Fantastic breakfast. Cooked to perfection and served by excellent attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble, extra tea etc. Best breakfast we have had in a long time as it was cooked freshly for individuals and not a buffet. Fantastic.

We have been here a few times now and always enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately this will be our last for a while now due to the rude bar lady with glasses on wasn’t very helpful and nice to us on being offered a complimentary free drink. Having just drove from Sheffield in floods it was nice looking forward to a hot drink and drying off. Unfortunately went pear shaped. The owner of the property are lovely and we have no complaints about them whatsoever. But such a shame one small matter can ruin a whole looking forward trip to York. 😢😢

Die Betten waren zu kurz und schlecht. Wir haben relativ schlecht geschlafen. Quntitativ eher mickriges Frühstück. Kein Buffet. Das Hotel sollte auf jeden Fall mal renoviert werden.

The staff were lovely and very helpful, the room was very clean and fresh .We arrived a little earlier than expected but our room was already ready so we checked in early at no extra cost and the breakfast was one of the best we have had .We would recommend to anyone.

Good location easy walking to the train station and town centre with several pubs, a supermarket, restaurants and a cinema close by. My room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. hotel bar was reasonably priced. I had a cooked breakfast which was very good. All the staff i spoke to were very pleasant

The hotel was cozy and the staff were lovely and helpful. Very quiet hotel, even though the walls were a bit thin The hotel breakfast was good.

The shower in our room was a bit small for us. It is 20 minutes to walk into York from the hotel. It's not necessarily a negative mark, more of something to keep in mind

Hotel in stile vittoriano stupendo. Tantissimi spazi relax a disposizione degli ospiti. Camere un po’ vecchiotte ma dispongono di tutto quello che serve. Ci sono scale da fare per arrivare in camera. Niente di drammatico ma ci sono. Tenetene conto. Il parcheggio ha pochi posti disponibili ma la via dell’hotel ha parecchi posti dove si può parcheggiare. Colazione tipica all’inglese servita al tavolo. Buona e zero code. L hotel è a 15 min di piacevole passeggiata dal centro di York. In meno di 8 minuti siete alle mura su cui si può fare una bellissima passeggiata. Provate il pub Valahalla. Atmosfera e birre top.

Perfect location, wonderful staff and facilities. Spotlessly clean and immaculately maintained. I cannot fault any aspect of this wonderfully run family hotel. It was a real pleasure to spend two nights here and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an enjoyable stay in York. Delicious breakfast and beautiful surroundings.

The hotel had a bit of an old-fashioned feel to it, which suited me fine. I didn;t have to fight through piles of unnecessary cushions to reach the bed! We were served at table for breakfast and dinner and the staff were exceptional. Every one of them was friendly and helpful, and the waiters and waitresses in the dining room were fascinating to watch. They were constantly on the move, noticing who needed to be served and quietly and efficiently looking after us all.

Ir was a steep climb with a suitcase up to my top floor room, but that was part of the kind of building it was. Not a major problem and I know I could have asked for help.

The room was not very big and quite essential. Parking rules were a bit misleading.

Beautiful, well presented old hotel. Staff were super welcoming, friendly and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast service was exceptional. Location was brilliant, walking distance to city Centre and we got a parking space in the limited on site free carpark.

Only slight complaint was that room was hot , perhaps a fan in upper floor rooms could help with this

Las instalaciones son muy anticuadas, las almohadas tenían olor extraño. No había donde poner las maletas y la habitación muy pequeña. El personal del comedor muy desorganizado, corriendo siempre y el último día nos tuvimos que ir sin desayunar porque olvidaron nuestra mesa, entregaban las órdenes de personas que habían llegado después y ya no pudimos esperar porque nuestro tren salía pronto.

Breakfast very good. Staff friendly and professional, helpful and hospitable. Nice to have an offer of a tea/coffee on arrival. No lift which could be an issue for some residents. Easy access to York plus buses. Parking limited but I was lucky. Overflow parking available. High standard of cleanliness, gardens, etc. I feel the owner/manager/staff take pride in the hotel and their work.

Godt hotel, godt værelse med god plads, ok badeværelse, lækker have foran hotellet, med mange gode siddepladser. Ok morgenmad. Meget centralt placeret for besøg i Yorks centrum, som varmt kan anbefales.

Ingen elevator - vi blev først anbragt på øverste etage, men heldigvis var det muligt at flytte til et værelse i stueetagen. Vi havde meget bagage med… Vi spiste middag på hotellet første aften - og det levede op til alle fordomme om det engelske køkken.

Location of this hotel is great.

The hotel should have told us either in Booking.com or via email that it's under renovation and surrounded by scaffolding. We were taken aback when we arrived to see the scaffolding. The rooms are clean given how dated the rooms are. Also, we didn't know that there'd be live music at night for guests at the hotel bar. We could hear the music in one of our room. All in all, this hotel is clean, but dated. We booked two rooms. They gave us two rooms really far away from each other: different floors and accessed through different stairs. I really doubted if the rooms had to be that far apart. Together with the fact that we were not told about the scaffolding beforehand, it's way too expensive in my opinion (we paid 110 pounds per night for a twin room). Not recommended unless you can get a really good rate like 50 pounds per night for a twin room.

This is a lovely and well cared for property. All the staff I spoke to were kind, welcoming, and helpful. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated to cozy environment, and my room was a lovely size for a single! The breakfast and tea/coffee are a great bonus, helping get your day in York started off right.

It would have been nice to be a little closer to the city center, but honestly, the location is excellent for being quiet, close to the train station, and still very walkable!

Very friendly and helpful staff, our room was clean, and with everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Beautiful garden to sit and relax in, aswell as various lounges within the hotel, and a bar. Breakfast was super tasty, with full table setvice. Booked our stay for next year while we were there.

Accoglienza, simpatia e professionalità consolidate. Struttura datata ma molto ben mantenuta e in parte rinnovata (bagni moderni, arredi moderni ma che mantengono li stile). Notevole anche il servizio colazione, ma non è a buffet. Parcheggio privato sul retro senza costi aggiuntivi. Appena arrivati, ci è stato offerto un te.
