We stayed for 4 nights. We had a few issues with house keeping but it didn't spoil our stay.We ate in the restaurant on 2 nights and I have to say the food was delicious. The staff are what make this hotel, Anita went above and beyond when I had an issue and Lit lights up the room with his warm personality. Anthony you are a star. Thanks to Karen and her wonderful team for making our stay.

Stayed for 4 days and staff were helpful and friendly. We had a few issues with housekeeping but didn't effect our stay. Restaurant/Bar great layout and food. Staff were exceptional, going above and beyond. Special thanks to Anita, Lit and Anthony. Thanks to Karen and all of her exceptional team. Would definitely recommend.

Location was good

Bathrooms were dated. It was noisy. Breakfast was poor. There was something odd about the parking, the machine outside said it was £19 but woman at reception still made me pay £25.

the place was poorly maintained the room was not nice with dirty carpets. The staff were very unhelpful and not friendly and then I had to pay £24 to park my car over night in the hotel carpark. I would not stay here again

Wow! This hotel exceeded all expectations! Great location, staff were all lovely in all areas. The pool was clean and great facilities there. Super spacious room. The restaurant was lovely and the best breakfast we’ve had in a hotel! Our most loved bit was the play area for kids 10/10!

When asked to a couple of ppl on the reception about the breakfast time, got carried answer so wasn’t sure which one is correct. Also, the rooms are a bit ancient style, not the morden style that we generally see in these kind of hotels

Staff were lovely and the room was cosy and clean.

Swimming pool was FREEZING, including the hot tub, and it was packed. It definitely wasn't the chilled vibe we were hoping for. Breakfast was disappointing too, the lady was run ragged and she said there was only 3 of them working so was struggling to get around to everyone. The food was freezing, which we expected after seeing the chaos. Quite disappointing.

The pool facilities were brilliant. Location was great for both the bay and city centre. It was nice and quiet as well.

The immediate local area did not feel especially safe and I would have concerns if I was a female on my own but once you got through that short area, it was all good again. Also, not enough teabags given in the room!

The bed was comfortable and the hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of Cardiff city centre. The room was also a good size.

The stay did not feel worth the price. The room was described as executive, but the only noticeable extras were slippers and a coffee machine. The décor felt dated, the toiletries appeared only partly filled, and the handwash ran out during our stay. I had expected a much higher standard from an executive room of this size.

Great breakfast. Pool is good. Charging facilities and parking are ideal, it's one of the best located hotels with these faciltiies.

It's starting to look dated in areas, especially in the bathrooms. Breakfast is really good, the dinner options not so much.

Great location easy walk into town centre. Spacious rooms with air con and plenty to spaces to park. Lovely small pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna to relax in after a busy day.

We were checked in a by a young male who just asked our name and took our card - there was no greeting, no explanation of the facilities or breakfast options. It felt a really cold welcome!

The rooms are ok, but very basic. The corridors smell and are not very clean. The staff at the reception is very friendly. The positive thing is a nice size pool and warm whirlpool. The toilets and showers at the pool are not well maintained. The location of the hotel is near the centre, but there are some weird people walking near the hotel. Its a lot of money for what you get.

Hemos reservado dos habitaciones, una de ellas tenía unas camas ENANAS, con elementos del cuarto de baño bajos, hechos para niños. Había que agacharse para llegar al lavabo. No nos la quisieron cambiar pese a que planteamos un cambio. Habría que borrar del nombre del hotel la palabra 'Centre'. NO está en el centro ni muchísimo menos. Tienen una política de niños gratis, lo cual lo llega a hacer hostil para adultos que desean tranquilidad. Piscina muy ruidosa. Staff no muy amable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely incredible — they went above and beyond! We honestly cannot thank the Novotel enough for everything they did for us around our wedding. From the moment we started dealing with them, they went above and beyond in every possible way to make our wedding and stay as special and stress-free as they could. My mum and I stayed for two nights, with my husband George and some of our friends staying on the night of the wedding, and every single member of staff we dealt with was absolutely amazing. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they were incredibly accommodating to every single one of our requests. They upgraded our food and our room, made us a personalised cake knifeand champagne flutes, filled up and awaiting for our arrival, gave me my mum and my daughter dinner and drinks on the house, gifted us two bottles of bubbly and even had beautiful chocolate-dipped strawberries waiting in our room on our wedding night. 🥂🍓 They also reserved a separate section for all of our guests to have breakfast together privately the following morning, allowed us to drop things off at the hotel days before the wedding, set up our reception room the day before, and even gave us a discount on all of the parking. The food was absolutely amazing, and the level of care and attention we received was honestly beyond anything we could have expected. They didn't just provide a venue for our reception — they genuinely made us feel looked after and went out of their way to make everything perfect for us. A massive thank you to the entire Novotel team for helping make such an important and emotional time so incredibly special. We will genuinely never forget how kind, helpful and accommodating you all were. Karen and the ENTIRE TEAM... We couldn't recommend you highly enough. ❤️ Thank you for everything! 🥂❤️

I booked an exec room at £179 the room was tired, bathroom aged, tiles in need of replacement, door in need of replacement, shower pressure very poor, no drinking water in room, you have to get your own from a water dispenser down the hall, air conditioning hopeless one of those centrally controlled systems where in my opinion they just don't want you to have it turned on, when I entered the room the temp was 23.5 degrees ! The air conditioning stat only turned down to 19 but once I set it to 19 very little happened the tiniest amount of air was coming out of the grate despite fan being set to max, room not ready at 1.30 ok I get that check in is 3pm but whilst in the queue to check in other guests rooms were ready and these were not so called exec rooms you would think that getting the exec rooms ready would be priority (in my opinion) car parking expensive at £24 for the night although there was quite a lot of spaces - all in all not great no better than a Travel Lodge or Prem Inn def not worth £179 plus £24.

The Novotel is a great space for a works event, the rooms are practical and the catering is lovely. Our server Lit was especially attentive and really made our experience.

The rooms and corridors are smelly. The corridors are not clean. The changing rooms in the swimming pool are not clean and items are broken. Bathroom in the room is very old. The location is ok, but that are some weird people walking around in the street. Its expensive for what you get.

Location on the canals was nice but it was a 15-20min walk to the city centre. Restaurant wasn’t great, they made quite a few mistakes with our order and I found a load of fluff in my chips.

First of all, no soundproof at all. My neighbour was making noises all night until I went to tell them off at 2am. Also, I found hair in my breakfast, long hair that’s definitely not mine. Sent them an email about these. No response.

Car park charge was ridiculous — £24 for 24 hours. If I had known about this before, I would not have booked this hotel. I was only staying for a short period, not a week. Otherwise, I would have ended up paying around £175 just for parking. That is worse than airport parking prices. One more thing I would like to mention is that, in my opinion, there was a lack of staff during breakfast. I have worked in hospitality myself for 10 years, so I understand how busy breakfast service can be. The area could have been better maintained to meet the brand standards. It was not very tidy, with plates everywhere, and the juice and coffee area was not very clean. This could definitely have been better. Also, one of the male staff members who was emptying the juice tray was in such a rush that he spilled juice all over my brand-new shoes. Luckily, I jumped backwards just in time to avoid most of it. Otherwise, it would have ruined my day, as I was planning to go somewhere else from the hotel and those were the only pair of shoes I had with me for the day.

Drinking Water retrieval our room was at end of corridor and water fountain was by the left so to fill the decanter was a long walk and as our one was out of order and the closest one was two floors above and the key card would only let you access your floor only we were not impressed it took two days to repair would be nice if there was water in the room for new arrivals

We loved the spa area, it was very nice, clean. It was handy to have spare towels about. The restaurant was very nice, we only had breakfast which was adequate. We didn’t have food there but I was impressed by the look and feel of the place.

I feel for the nearly £300 spent for the stay the bedroom was inadequate. It felt like a mild upgrade on a Travelodge. The tv was scratched, the bedside table was wonky, the air con switch was damaged, there were dents or chips in the bath tub. I can’t complain about the cleanliness though.

Es war ein super Familienhotel. Die Kinder hatten ein bequemes Schlafsofa. Im Forye gab es für die Kleinen auch eine Rutsche mit Bällebad, einen Kicker und eine XBox. Das Hotel hat einen Pool. Es gibt sogar eine BadeanzugSchleudermaschine. Handtücher, Badetücher, es war wirklich alles notwendige da. . Auf den Zimmern gab es Tee und Kaffeepulver. Auf den Bädern war überall Seife und sogar Handcreme von Ritual. Die Zimmer waren klimatisiert (sehr leise). Wir haben die Zeit dort wirklich genossen.

Leider gibt es nur einen Gemeinschaftsparkplatz, der nach 24 Std 24 pound kostet.

We actually made a mistake booking this hotel as we wanted one nearer the city but it turned out to be ok. Not too far from the city and plenty of parking (expensive but normal I suppose for most hotels). Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. When I told them it was my birthday I had a card and some welsh cakes on a chocolate covered plate in my room. A really lovely gesture.

The room needs a deep clean as it smelt musty. Air conditioning cannot be controlled by room occupier (weird but luckily we could open a window). No fridge in the room and they didn’t replenish the tea bags. The shower completely flooded the bathroom. The room was terribly bland.

Staff at breakfast were amazing. Specially the older looking one. He had a smile all the time.

The staff, the location and facilities are great. 20-25 minutes to the beaches (Barry Island). City road close by taking roughly 15-20 minutes (All the best food places). You’ll definitely be spoilt for choice. Little kids play area including an xbox was great idea. My kids loved this. clean pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which were perfectly adequate. Rooms had good working irons and hair dryer

The Hotel was overall lovely, however a few things definitely need to be improved. Breakfast- Definitely not much variety for vegetarians. If you want a fried egg you will be charged extra. However, the waiting staff gave us some for free. Pancake machine is very slow, waited 20 minutes as there was an issue with it. I had a 3 year old who was adamant to have pancakes. Rooms- Definitely not the greatest. Liveable, Yes! The room had a stench of sewerage. In fact the whole level 2 had a sewerage smell. Really off putting. We did complain about this. Maintenance was sent but whatever he did, didn’t help to be honest. The bathrooms definitely need an upgrade. Albeit cleanish we had a huge rust corrosion on the side of the bath. It was horrendous. At this point we didn’t bother complaining because we had young kids and it was just a hassle having to move rooms. Will attach a picture. bed sheets had some stains, more so the kind that dont wash out. This hotel is really let down by the quality of the rooms. Maybe we ended up getting the worse of the bunch. Parking is also expensive, £24 ish for an overnight stay so if you’re there for a few days bear this in mind. Would not park outside as we noticed car windows smashed. safer to park in there car park. We paid a lot of money for our stay and feel the quality of rooms defo let me down. Would i stay here again, probably not.

Bed settee wasn't made up on arrival and the bedside lights didn't work. This was sorted out within an hour and a half.

Lovely one night stay at the Novotel. Very friendly staff in the bar/restaurant especially Lit who made sure my 4 year old was happy and accommodated her milk allergy. And Joyce and Anita ensuring everything was ok for us. Very comfortable beds and we didn’t hear a peep all night. Good pool and facilities. My daughter enjoyed the kids play area. The food in the bar was tasty and they also cater for vegans and vegetarians. Only 20 minutes walk from the waterfront. Definitely a friendly family hotel.

Room wasn't set up for family of 4. Noisy on corridors until midnight. Had a Greek salad with chicken in bar that cost £17. Overpriced for a salad anyway, but what actually came out was not even the size of a side salad, with very little chicken. Absolutely shocking, to be honest.

Hole in the bathroom ceiling. Shower flooded the bathroom (glass door seal was ineffective). They changed my room after seeing my photos. Have to pay £30 extra if i want to check in at 12 instead of 3pm even though room is ready. Breakfast was very basic. Old TV in the room, not a smart TV- no access to any of the usual streaming apps. No fridge in the room. Other than soap/shampoo, no toiletries provided. This hotel is a 2-3 star, definitely not a 4 star hotel. Wouldn't stay again. Don't recommend. Can't believe they charged me £96 for one night at this awful standard.
