Front of house. There’s a gentlemen there’s who is severely rude. Every time I’ve stayed here hes rude, he said he’ll be 2 minutes and was 15. His attitude stinks and it really puts me off staying there

rooms were lovely and was perfect for a kupocon pop up the bar and lounge area on first floor were a great place to hang out

smell of mold in bathroom did complaon but smell still there after it was cleaned, the restraunts food was lovely the first night but on the 2nd it was swiming in butter and the gammon steak was very fatty, the whisky from the put was given in a pint glass filled with ice

It’s close to the city centre

That you have to now pay extra to use the pool and sauna and in all times I used it in the past you never had to pay.

Big rooms, big tv, big bathroom with both bath tub and shower, central location, spa available ( i have not tried that)

Rooms need revamping, feels neglected, no toilet rolls ( which i find unacceptable), reception staff look a bit lost, neighbouring building look rough, breakfast was average and limited in options.

* The hotel is in a good location with easy access to the city centre. * The rooms are spacious and include two chairs and a table, which is a practical feature that is often lacking in standard hotel rooms.

* Room 1204 backs onto the lift shaft, causing loud, train-like noise all night; avoid the two lift-adjacent rooms on each floor. * Management ignored repeated complaints, never called back, and ignored active WhatsApp messages. * Staff interrogated us daily at breakfast over payment despite our B&B package, curtains let light in, and housekeeping never restocked shower gel or toilet paper. * Guest parking receives no discount, making it far more expensive than the local NCP.

The extra charges for summing and parking. The bar area finishes at 9.30pm !! Can not get a coffee or a drink after that. Paid for parking to come back with no space available to be told it’s not a guarantee!!! When we booked and paid Breakfast was terrible cold and undercooked Very over rated price wise and nothing luxury and the stay at all. Room was outdated, broken table and one tub chair in a superior room ??

Room next to lift sounded like a train Management asking staff if they were happy in work and replying they weren’t which many didn’t appear to be then discussing it publicly

Paid for a later checkout when we checked in at reception. But was some confusion with this, booking.com said checkout was at 12pm so we assumed that we had paid until 2pm. However we were chased out of the room by housekeeping at 12:50. Completely understand the nature o hotel room turn arounds for housekeeping, however if they weren't able to accommodate the late check out, why make us pay before hand and not let us know it wasn't doable?

I eventually get into the hotel, where there’s a queue at reception, and I’m already running late. I finally get checked in, grab my key, head back to the car for my suitcase, and make my way upstairs. I get to the room, open the door with my foot because I’m carrying the suitcase… and what do I behold? A couple. In bed. Not just sitting on the bed having a chat either. Very much this is our private time territory. I’m standing there thinking, Erm… what are you doing in my room? And they’re looking at me like I’ve just walked into their room. This is our room! At this point I’m thinking, Well, it certainly isn’t supposed to be! And then I realised how spectacularly this could have gone wrong. Imagine if she’d just come out of the bath. Or if they’d been doing something a little more… energetic. Or, even worse, imagine if they’d got aggressive. I’d have gone straight into defensive mode — because, obviously, I’m not about to stand there politely while someone attacks me in my own hotel room. Thankfully, it didn’t come to that. I made some stupid joke along the lines of, I thought I ordered you guys for eight o’clock, which, thankfully, they found hilarious. So at least we all managed to laugh about it rather than ending up on the evening news. I then went back downstairs with the gentleman and explained to reception what had happened. And they had absolutely no idea- None. It was like something out of Fawlty Towers. They seemed more concerned about finding out which member of staff had checked me in than actually acknowledging, Yes, we’ve just given a guest a room that already has two people in it. I spoke to management and basically said, Look, this is completely unacceptable. Something needs to be done about this. They assured me they’d look into it, and I’m meeting them again this morning to discuss it. They then moved me to another room — a few floors higher. Lovely. Except this one was basically a glass greenhouse.

As always the staff in the restaurant were exceptionally helpful and kind. We always enjoy interacting with all of them. Our room was nice and our bed was lovely. My husband had a great massage at the spa

The cooked breakfast was very disappointing, The sausages and bacon were not to my liking and baked beans were tiny in number. Coffee was good, so was the continental breakfast.

The ground floor smelling like a swimming pool was always nice when I got into the property. The amount of space in the room was also good.

Not really to do with the property but more to do with me. As I was there to experience the city for a short time and so covered as much distance as I could with the landmarks. Where the hotel was a bit out of the way distance wise. Some of the food at breakfast was a bit tough to cut into

The view from the room was good, so was location.

We had a huge queue for check in as no rooms were ready at 3pm which is check in time. The room was dirty, clumps of hair left in the shower tray and up the tiles in the shower. The carpet was covered in bits like it hadn't been hoovered for weeks, the bed sheets didn't fit properly and when we asked for a manager, only the duty manager was there and couldn't do anything and the actual manager wasn't going to be back for over 24 hours! We were told to leave our number and she would contact us, we never got a call... Not a 4 star hotel I'm afraid.

This property is located central, walking distance to lots of places if you want to visit. Staff very friendly and the room and restaurant very clean and spacious.

Restaurant food could improve(ordered a pasta carbonara and had some very sour macaroni drowning oil and onion and garlick(could kill a vampire 🫣),).

The room was very spacious, with a huge and very comfortable bed. The bathroom was well-equipped and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel offers parking for £24 for the whole day, with cheaper rates available if you only need to park for a few hours. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the castle and many pubs in the city centre. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. We arrived before check-in time and had to wait in a very long queue. While waiting, I decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. The food I was served was extremely salty and, in my opinion, impossible to eat. I spoke to the restaurant manager, whose name I believe was Brenda, and asked for the dish to be changed. I found Brenda’s attitude extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of dealing with my complaint politely and trying to resolve the situation, I felt that I was being pressured to pay for food that I could not eat. I refused. After she spoke with the chef, they offered me a chicken dish without additional charge. Unfortunately, the chicken had a very unpleasant smell, so I left it on the plate and did not eat it. I ended up leaving the restaurant hungry after wasting both my time and money. Things did not improve after that. When I went to collect my luggage, I noticed a member of staff throwing paper on the floor, and the luggage area itself looked dirty and unpleasant. Throughout the hotel, I repeatedly noticed rubbish that appeared to be left unattended. Later that evening, when we went out for dinner, there was rubbish directly in front of the reception desk and a glass containing what appeared to be wine left on the floor. When we returned from dinner, the same glass was still there, despite staff being present at reception. Our room was also not cleaned despite us requesting this several times. Another concern was that there was no telephone in the room. In an emergency, this could make it difficult for guests to contact reception quickly. The downstairs toilets were extremely dirty and, in my opinion, comparable to poorly maintained public toilets at a busy train station. The overall impression was that cleanliness was simply not being taken seriously. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the swimming pool.

It was conviently located for walking to the centre of the city.

The check in process left a lot to be desired. There was a lengthy queue at Reception where only 2 people were on duty. Eventually we got allocated a room which was not ready when we got there and had other people's possessions in it. One of us had to go back down to Reception to sort it out. We had had a long journey to get there and wanted nothing more than a cup of tea. We found the cups in one of the cupboards but didn't see the teas and coffees which were so far back and didn't see the kettle either. They are usually visible so we were very disappointed in that.

It was in close proximity to the city, not too far of a walk.

The staff honestly, god they were awful! When we arrived, the lady at reception checked us in and said our room number then immediately walked off. Before she could leave we asked where the lifts were, she said through the double doors, that would be helpful if there wasn’t 3 sets of double doors in the lobby… Then the next morning we found the kettle to be broken, we reported it to reception and left for the day. To go see the city. When we got back to our hotel at 9pm, we found the kettle hadn’t been replaced. I went down to reception and spoke to a man working the reception and asked when we were going to get a new kettle. He said did you not stay in your room for it to arrive! For one, why would I wait in my room for a kettle that could be delivered at any time while I am visiting a new city?? He said you should have stayed in your room…! This is absolute shit! Eventually after some back and forth he agreed to get a kettle then came back 2 minutes later… if he had gone for 30 mins to go a long way for a kettle then I might understand his problem. But, all he had to do was walk a few steps and collect a new kettle. The laziness of the staff is ridiculous. Also their attitude towards customers is appalling. I won’t be staying again!

Got to the hotel at 16:15. (Check in from 15:00). Several people were at reception waiting for their rooms to become available. Was told that our room wasn’t ready. So we were asked to go to bar and come back in 20 minutes. Went back 30 minutes later, room still not ready. We were going to a show where doors opened at 7:00. At 18:30 the room still wasn’t ready. I had to get ready in the public toilets! Eventually at 18:45 we were told that the room was ready. Room 1410 clean and the views spectacular.

The fact that I have used this hotel many times and the main reason is we enjoy the pool facilities however they now charge an extra £10 pp to use these facilities, as a result I will now never visit again as there are cheaper places that are just as nice without a pool etc

That the fridge wasn't switched on

Everything was ok. Comfortable bed. Nice walk-in shower an espresso machine + Kettle in the room. I had treated myself to a superior double room with panoramic view of Cardiff. There was a fridge but it was not switched on as my water was still warm in the morning.

No change of towels or room made up on Day 2. Not a big issue as I was only there for 2 nights and could manage to make the bed myself. I asked Housekeeping for a an extra towel, though as mine had a grey stain. I mentioned that my room had not been done but the room attendant looked busy and rather tired and didn't offer to do it. I had wanted to phone reception but there is no phone in the room which is a safety concern. The location is fairly central but maybe next time I will book closer to the main station (a 23-min walk away).

Shame that those lovely big windows, potentially offering great views, were in a pretty poor state, so that you were looking through a haze of condensation.

Lovely hotel in a very good and central location. Great views as well if you were given a room on the higher floors. Everything you need was in the room (including a little fridge and a safe). Was a nice addition to have both shower cubicle and bath in the bathroom as well. Spa and gym facilities were also very welcome and when I went, was quiet so was able to unwind a little after a heavy day in the office - but the spa facilities (sauna, steam room, hot tub and pool) have an additional charge of £10 per entry.

I am noticing that it is a standard practice within Cardiff now - but the hotel parking onsite was limited and there was a charge, of which I had to pay £24 per night. Although the room was relatively clean, some of the chairs in the room gave off a white dust / residue which was a bit disappointing as almost walked out with a white behind in my dark trousers! Also the room didn’t look like it was hoovered well as there were crumbs and other bits on the floor. The spa facilities (sauna, steam room, hot tub and pool) are not free for guests to use, you have an additional charge of £10 per entry, so even if you used the facilities then wanted to come back later in the day to use them again, you would have to pay ANOTHER £10. Lastly, I asked for separate VAT invoices for both my hotel stay and parking charges (as I was told by reception staff that this would be done). When asking for this in the morning of the day I was to check out (8am), the staff member stated that they would email this to me as they needed to contact the accounts team. However, it was not sent until I called back after 1pm informing I had not received this. Although emailed through, instructions were not followed and the invoice was sent with charges combined. I did ask again for this to be split into 2 invoices however I still have not received a response back - which is a let down as I need this for work expenses.

I really enjoyed my stay, it was the break that I needed. My room was lovely, really spacious and clean. The staff were all very nice and the hotel itself was clean and cared for. The skyline view was impressive.

You can’t open the windows but that’s a safety thing as they are floor to ceiling and the aircon system was powerful, so it didn’t matter. The table was wobbly and the body wash ran out but they were minor issues. I’m sure someone would have sorted that if I mentioned it.

The bed was comfortable

Staff werent attentive as we arrived. Tea facilities werent full, had to ask for supplies. Linen bags left ouside door from previous people. Wasnt clear that use of swimming pool was extra when booked. Was a special occasion for us and was told they would have small gesture for us, but nothing.

We have stayed here numerous times and always return for the armchairs in the picture windows of the upper floor rooms. The staff are great, the car parking is safe & convenient, the spa is a lovely facility to have

The hotel does need to be careful to maintain its standards eg some chairs had rips and I really don’t think the electric blue soap in the bathroom was the posh neroli it claimed to be.

The location was brilliant, the hotel staff were friendly, we were able to drop our bag off at 10:00 a.m. before check-in in a secure location we got a ticket. Check-in was okay. We came half an hour. Rarely we were told the room wasn't been ready till 3:00, which was disappointing because I did send messages to the hotel saying that if they could accommodate an earlier checking that would be great. The only room they had available was a twin instead of a double, but actually my son and I slept separately and that worked really well. The room was really spacious, really clean, the bath was massive and really hot fast water. We are on the 10th floor and it was pretty good for you. People had winged about the windows but we are in a drought so just expect that really.

Elizabeth city asking people to pay £10 every time you want to use the pool facilities. I didn't mind paying the £10 but would have preferred that to be a one-off payment for the duration of your stay rather than every time. The TV was terrible, remote control with was clearly broken and trying to get any form of channels out of it was a bit of a pain, luckily we were quite late getting back so didn't watch too much of it. The table was really wobbly and you couldn't really sit and use the table. Yes the hotel and the room were a little bit outdated in parts but overall for the money that I paid for one night (£60) was more than happy with it really. I was mildly annoyed the fact that I had to find the kettle and find a spot to plug it in safely. Overall, a good ood hotel .

De gordijnen konden niet goed dicht, erg gehorig (hoorde de hele nacht een stel het ervan nemen), er zat een plakkerige vlek in de vloerbedekking. Geen koffie voor 8:30 op zaterdagochtend. Dus ook geen roomservice voor die tijd. De spa faciliteiten waren fijn, maar alles met een surplus bijdrage.
