Best Western Downtown Sudbury

Location, parking, noisy in the hall, breakfast sausage was cold as well as taste was terrible, pancake machine had to be adusted constanty didn't work, view in the back where car was parked homeless guy went through all 8 garbage cans eating left overfood and breaking open garbage bags. I was constantly watching our vehicle. Terrible experience!

The location is a bit tricky with being downtown Sudbury but there was a high police presence so it was ok.

We had a fantastic experience at the hotel! My partner and I live in North Bay but travel to Sudbury often for work. The staff were friendly and the rooms were amazing!

The customer service was awful, not accommodating at all. We had a family emergency and had to leave a night early during our stay, no refund, credit or even partial refund was issued. Additional charges were added after full payment upon checking in and we were charged way more for the room than the online price when we booked. Location is awful! Parking is not ideal, a lot of homeless people roaming around.

I payed for parking at 0923 in Best Western's Parking lot across the street from the Best Western. At 0930 a boot was applied to the wheel of my car. I spoke with the owner and manager of the hotel and she refused to ask the operator of the parking lot who was also there. They forced me to pay $160 despite the fact that I had already payed for parking and had time stamped receipts because I had forgotten to leave the receipt on the dash. This hotel is likes to scam its customers.

Homeless man peeing on the building, a second homeless man kicking things and punching vehicles in the parking lot, no security for parking lot or hotel itself. Screaming from downstairs that was very audible from within the room. Room was not clean in the bathroom.

There was a safe in the room and the bed was comfortable.

Room Phone was not connected and did not work. Shower leaked. No mobile phone power points on the bedside table. Pillows were not standard size and too many. Coffee maker instructions to difficult to read. Decor dated and old.

I booked my stay through Priceline and when I arrived at 10 PM they front desk would not honor my request of 2 queen beds. I showed them what I booked, but they said that I had booked a single queen. They would not work with me and said I had to contact Priceline. After 30 minutes of trying to figure this out, I gave up, took the room they offered. I would not recommend this hotel due to their lack of customer service. Also, parking is very limited. I had stayed in a BW in Superior, WI the night before, and had a great experience. The front desk offered me an upgrade to move my room away from a youth hockey team's set of rooms. I have always had a good experience at BW until this encounter.

My room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice. I liked the colour combination in the room. Breakfast was delicious and the lady at the front desk was very helpful. Parking is across the street and it is free. Close proximity to all restaurants and taxation office. Would stay here again

the wifi host is indicated as 'unsecured' from our browsers, solving that would be of help.

The climate control was quiet and effective. The mattress felt new and very supportive yet comfortable. The receptionist in the morning inquired what my route was as she was making anyone going to Toronto aware of a closure on the 400. I got points for my stay and free breakfast.

We arrived October 3 to 4, Booking.com made a mistake with the date, we were charged 160, then 425 and the clerk made a mistake and charged us 425.00 again. We are trying to get this money back. We arrived home to Vancouver on October 11 and we received notice that we were staying at this hotel For Nov 2-3 We called multiple times to the hotel and booking.com, they said it was a glitch in the system and that it defaulted to that date. Booking.com called the hotel who said they couldn't do anything for us. Terrible experience all around! My accounts are on hold because I don't trust that money will be taken. It's clear we were not at this location. The location was scary. The free breakfast was inedible.

There was a cockroach that went onto my food in my first room on the top floor so got upgraded and found another cockroach in the 2nd room. Tried getting a refund but because I booked through booking.com, they couldn't give me a refund and I was forced to stay there for the night while my partner went to a family member's place. Worst experience I've ever had and I will not be going back. Still seeking compensation for my horrible experience.

Hotel was ok a bit dated. The breakfast was pretty good. The location was not the greatest. Alot of homeless people in the area. We stayed on a Saturday and not many businesses were open. We would probably not stay in the downtown core if staying in Sudbury

On September 26/27 I stayed at this BW. If you like curry, then you will enjoy walking into this hotel, as it is quite prevalent in the air. The room was very worn and needs updating. The bed was very comfortable. I did have an issue at the front desk. I came with a $500 limit card for my stay up north as my intent was to pay cash for my rooms. Instead of only holding the $100 deposit on my card they held the deposit and the cost of my stay for 2 nights. $325.80. As I was paying cash for my stay I immediately told them and unfortunately for me the holdback would not be released for 3-5 business days which I have yet to receive. I did ask immediately for it to be reversed and was told to wait for a manager in the morning. I stayed at a BW in North Bay on the 28th and only a $50 deposit was held. Beware and be sure the staff are clear when checking in. Unfortunately this property is also in a part of town that has many unfortunate homeless.

I lost a military coin in the room. The staff searched the room and recovered it for me!

I wanted to burn my clothes and take a bath in acid after! I didn’t stay! The conditions were beyond terrible and downtown safety is very sketch! Best western would be best to not have this location under their name!

We didn’t even stay but won’t be doesn’t look like we will be given our money back. Homeless and drug anddicts all around the property even living in the parking lot where we would park our truck. We decided it wasn’t safe to stay there and didn’t even want to get out of the truck but are being told that no refund will be issued. I am still trying to get reimbursed. Do not stay here. The area is totally unsafe.

The most disgusting place ever!! Do not stay here!! Hookers and 0whores run the place with drug addicts. They run all over the place and on every floor. You do not feel safe as your life is in the hands of the hotel hands as they let every nasty person in! Safety is paramount and is disrespected here!!! Save your money and safety please do not stay here!!!!

Pleasant staff but horrible room. Smelly with smashed lamp shades and lamps, stained sheets and pillows and carpet. Unclean tub and bathroom floor. I'm bald so not my long black hairs. Scary night time neighbourhood too. I asked for an air freshener because of the smell and they sprayed my room while I was out. I could hardly breath when I returned. I slept in my clothes on towels on top of the sheets and I still came home itchy. Big yech!

Hotel itself is nice, Sudbury however is not. Our room had a stunning view of people doing drugs in a park, and we woke up to our bike stolen from our bike rack. Never visiting here again.

Bedding was dirty, room smelt really bad.

Bed was comfy, staff were nice, breakfast was good. Hotel is a bit run down though. Paint was peeling off the walls in our bathroom and the counter was in poor repair.
