Serenity Guest House

The host and hostess are generous to a fault. They have time for everybody and actively seek out answers to any queries. They even help with parking. The rooms are well equipped and have usb phone charger outlets. The breakfasts are great with an excellent coffee offering. Espresso cappuccino etc. There was a cosy open fire in the breakfast room.

Breakfast was unfortunately very disappointing. The coffee was impossibly weak and undrinkable (the Yorkshire tea was perfect)! The eggs were so pale it was hard to tell them from the whites. I would definitely stay there again, but go out for breakfast.

Everything is always great and we always had a fabulous stay at The Serenity. Steven and the team are always there if you need them. They have a lift to all floors too. Breakfast is plenty and delicious.

First I would like to say a big thank you to Steve, he is an outstanding host,the room was spotless the size was great for us, the bed was very comfortable bedding immaculate great little shower, enough space to store clothes n case. I enjoyed the stay so much I booked for the punk weekend to stay here In April, great location and a lift is a bonus, house keeping lady and grand daughter lovely also

Ingen felles oppholdsrom. Dessverre er byen preget av stor måke bestand og mange av dem hekker på nabohotellet som er blitt fuglefjell. De holder det gjerne gående gjennom natten i hekkesesongen, husk ørepropper.

Old Style Guest House, that was expected- but very basic offering though. - excluding the flat screen TV, we could have been in 1980. Disappointed based on its score with booking.com. We had booked and paid for 2 Nights, but moved on after 1.

Steve at the serenity guest house is really nice and very helpful. The room wasn't as good as we expected going by the reviews we went by.Needs updating to reflect the price.Struggled to find plug socket to use hair straigner.

This is beyond the owners control but the seagulls,I'm lucky I live by the coast so use to them,but Scarborough birds are on a new level

Fabulous location, just a few strides away from the cliff tram down to the seafront, and a short walk in to town. Our room was very clean and comfortable, stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bottles of water. We was pleasantly surprised to see the property had a small lift, which is unusual, but a bonus for us as we were on the 3rd floor.

Our mattress was too soft for us, but that is a personal preference.

The best B&B we have stayed in anywhere. Excellently decorated throughout with bright and modern colors, fresh, light, spacious, so inviting. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful, he was very personable and knowledgeable and keen to recommend local walks, restaurants etc. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful with lots of options.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and tidy the little sofa bed was adequate for the child with me but the mattress under the bed put on top made it much more comfortable for him. Room. Wardrobe was unused by me looked small but would be adequate for storage on longer stays.

Don't follow google maps down the back alley its a trap! May need to add to booking information for others as told google have not listened to staff, Keep going a little farther to the car park. Parking was troublesome with my visits being to attend an event at the open air so get there early and if planned to stay in multi store they had a discount (I failed to apply probably, staff are help if needed) The fire exit door looked locked (didn't try incase alarmed) but the escape staircase looks a bit rusted so the staff explained alternative in an emergency. But the one thing I personally had to always remember was to lift feet as I entered the bathroom as the door came out in to the room and the 1st step in is in darkness as the light is inside and if you don't lift your foot you kick the floor that is raised about an inches (a warning sign would be nice).

Perfect place to stay 😁. Within walking distance to almost everything. Room was lovely and clean. Bed was very comfortable, slept really well. Tea and coffee tray, always appreciated. Great guest house.

Steven our host did all he could to help; he helped with our bags, he was always at the end of a phone if anything was needed and if it was he supplied it. The bed is wonderful, memory foam topper, lovely and comfortable as were the pillows. A good tray of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. The full English breakfast which he served was very nice, as much toast and coffee as required, all for £10. I cannot recommend Steven and Serenity House high enough. We will go back!

Very close to sea and town. Clean, well decorated and warm. Room serviced every day and regular replenishment of biscuits. Was supposed to stay in a nearby hotel but was put off by it's reviews frequently mentioning lack of cleanliness. Only met Steve the owner (and his cat!) once but he was very friendly and easily contactable as he lives on site

Steven was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious, clean and well stocked with tea, coffee and bottled water. The bed was very comfy, great Seaview from our window, shower room was excellent. Breakfast was absolutely superb, great quality bacon, sausages in particular were delicious and everything was cooked to perfection. Steven kindly lit the lovely open fireplace for us at breakfast time which was very much appreciated. All in all, faultless, thankyou Steven, keep up the good work and a big thankyou for being such an attentive host.

Comfortable clean room, good breakfast and good location.

The setting was beautiful with close proximity to some beautiful restaurents and the sea front down some nearby steps. the building was beautiful and cosy, Steven the owner was an absolute diamond of a host, both friendly and welcoming aswell as knowledgeable about the building and its history. The breakfast was phenomenal with a good choice of juices, cereals, toast and both veggie and full English breakfasts available. The beds were comfy and clean with elevator access to all floors except the loft. We will definitely be staying again 😊

Excellent location 1 min to the Victorian lift down to the beach, 5 mins from town centre, 10 mins from train station. We didn't drive, but there's some paid parking on the street outside. Great that the building has a lift, although you will need to get up about 4 steps to enter the front door. Would be useful to add a grab rail by the door to assist getting over the doorstep. Communal areas would benefit from a bit of refurbishment, but our room was recently refurbished and in excellent condition. Lovely modern bathroom with a good shower. Great double glazing. USB sockets on either side of the bed. Good wifi signal. Spotlessly clean.

Our only issue was the very deep mattress, which made it hard for my short girlfriend to get on and off the bed! But the host provided a step which helped her a lot. We didn't stay for breakfast because we thought £12.50 was a bit expensive, but actually the price is similar to other hotels in Scarborough, so not over priced for the town. The dining room looked lovely and you could see the sea from there!

Superb location . a very comfortable bed and a lovely clean establishment with everything you need. The breakfast was as good as you will get anywhere and well priced. Stephen was grand company and proud of the history of the house. Yes we will be back again .

The room was clean, nice and comfy beds, really hot but you can't help the weather. Bathroom was shining no faults with the water or anything. Staff was acomadating even after arriving in the hotel quite late. You pay extra for comfort, cleanliness, and spacious room.

Towels could've been bigger but still manage to get dry.

Steve was very welcoming and friendly the hose itself is in a great location,the room was a decent size and very clean lovely comfy bed , breakfast was delicious plenty of choice would definitely stay here again .

If I did have to say anything it would just be our room no 5 is at the back of the house so the view wasn’t great but it was nice and quiet so we slept really well it didn’t really bother us but might some .
