The location was excellent

Unfortunately the lift was out of order meaning we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs. However the hotel did ring us a few days prior to our stay, to inform us and check we were able to use the stairs.

Very nice hotel and very clean, lift was out of order and we was on the 3rd floor but other than that it was perfect. Very nice breakfast, Great location and 100 yards from the Victorian tram which takes you straight down to the beach (£1.50 one way on £2.40 return) would definitely stay there again.

Excellent and friendly staff, knew what they were doing and were very helpful. Good breakfast, the room was spotlessly clean...which is not always the case in Scarborough....so we really appreciated that. Location is excellent, close to all amenities.

The budget room was very compact, this isn't a criticism as this is all that was available at the time, and we were there for only two nights.The lift was out of order and remained so throughout our stay, there are quite a few stairs.

It was my second visit to the Dickens and there seems to have been a lot of decorating done and new carpets fitted giving a very pleasant stay. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels every other day. Good choice at breakfast and it is cooked to order

The only comment I would like to highlight is personally I would have liked a couple of extra plug points at the side of the bed but that’s being picky.

Great staff especially Tracy and Honey. Breakfast was lovely and room was clean.

Could have benefited from double glazing as the noise from the street was loud at nights. Also there was no spikes on window ledge which meant the seagulls could sit on there and squawk to each other at 5am.

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here because the location is brilliant, it is fantastic value for money and the breakfast is excellent. The rooms are lovely.

Fantastic fresh and clean room. Well equipped with dressing table, shelves hooks, space for luggage (a little bug bear of ours is when there's no space to unpack).

Window was difficult to move open/shut. (Room 10)

We booked here because of the location to the Scarborough Spa, as we where going to see a concert there, that and the price. The rooms are accessed via a separate entrance to the bar. There is lift to the floors. Staff we met were very helpful and friendly. Good choice of items at breakfast which was very good.

Although the room was adequate for our one night stay, there were some small things that let it down. The lampshades were pretty dusty, the T&C station was well stocked, but would have been nice to have some biscuits. Big walk in wardrobe that could accommodate a fridge.

Absolutely lovely 1 night stay and could I just say Tracey who works in bar and kitchen on morning thanks again for bringing her own iron in from home for me. Lovely lady on reception aswell who rang Tracey for the iron very very friendly lovely staff. 😍

Perfectly situated for our stay,very happy with both our rooms. Staff were very friendly upon arrival and rooms clean and fresh. Once we arrived we left our bags in our rooms and headed down to the bar, where we booked straight away for next year too! Very difficult place to get booked into as always sell out fast, so we was very happy to be able to book again for next year!

Excellent central location for both North & South bays, the room was exceptionally clean, which I am really picky about, it was spotless and the breakfast was fabulous. The price was excellent compared to similar places to stay in Scarborough. We would most definitely stay here again.

It's situated in a good area, easy access for shops and restaurants.

Parking wasn't easy, until we went into the reception and asked where we could park and we purchased a permit parking ticket ... Maybe it would be a good idea to suggest this when booking has been confirmed ...it would have saved us 20 -30 minutes looking for a space.

The location was perfect, just 2 mins to the tram that takes you down to the seafront. Our room was immaculate and had plenty of space for the two of us. Everywhere in the property was clean and it was close to the station with only a 5 min walk.

Location was in walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach. Staff was extremely helpful.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable bedroom with superb ensite bathroom complete with bath and shower above. Lovely comfortable beds and fantastic bedding. Perfect breakfast cooked to order in the morning too.

The room though economy, was still big enough to move around in and get washed and dressed fine. Pillows were so comfy and the bed was too, I slept great. The extra dressing table mirror was super handy along with the full length mirror and the bathroom mirror. The rubber bath mat is a nice option to have for those that may need it (we didn't use it) Fab location for what we needed which was shopping then getting the bus to the open air theatre on the night for a gig. Breakfast was great and staff were friendly and the lady on reception took, Jilly I think her name was.

They no longer loan an iron out, so I had to change my outfit as my top was badly creased from travel, but I took an extra outfit so this wasn't too much of a problem. The wall lamp light near the bed needed dusting badly (room 1)

The rooms were spotless, good central location. It’s above a pub so we went i to the pub for a couple of drinks. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast was delicious.

Not a negative but the door into the hotel was a bit difficult to open. A member of staff showed us how to open it.

We recently stayed at the Dickens Bar and Inn and found it to be excellent value for money. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, well equipped, and the bed was very comfortable, making for a pleasant stay. The location is also great, with easy access to everything Scarborough has to offer. Breakfast was included in the price and was perfectly decent, adding to the overall value of the stay.

The only downside was the noise from the seagulls outside, which disturbed us a little during the night. Of course, that’s not something the hotel has any control over and certainly wouldn’t stop us from staying again.

Great location, friendly staff and good value for money. Multistorey car park over the road was ideal if coming by car. I went to see a band at the open air theater and this was a good place to stay for that around a mile walk away but with pubs in-between.

Rooms were excellent and breakfast very good. The staff were really friendly and explained entry and exits very clearly.

The water in the bath was a bit slow on filling it up!
