Weird ‘house rules’ as they referred to them. Made it feel like a detention centre. Restrictions for visitors and I. D. might be required. Could only check in up to 10pm

The location was great. The bedroom was spacious enough for my family. Shower head was very powerful.

The bed was not comfortable. Cleanliness wasn't great, we found popcorn on the floor and on the sofa bed. The hotel is a little bit run down, the wall paper was coming off one of the walls. The bath tub was broken.

Loved the location! Check in was good. The bed was very comfortable and the decor was nice. The windows were lovely and big and the curtains were thick blocking out light.

It was a little rough around the edges. Damage to walls, some areas a bit dirty. Lovely wall lights- didn’t work. Tea tray- no coffee. Lovely TV- missing battery cover on the remote.

The staff were great. The rooms were clean and decent for the price. Location brilliant and a short walk from the station.

Unfortunately our bed was lopsided. One half on the mattress fell into a dip and it was very difficult to get any real sleep as it felt like you were slipping

The property is located on the beachfront so that was very handy and easy to get to the beach. It was clean and beds were comfortable. Appreciated the tv, kettle and tea and coffee.

The shower was a bit of a pain as it had come undone from the taps on arrival so getting it going was hard to start with. We were staying on the top floor which for an asthmatic with a fear of lifts it was very difficult to climb all of the stairs without feeling out of breath and faint. My partner used this lift at one point and expressed it was quite rickety. Parking was a bit of a pain also.

Second stay here. Always perfect for the air show, perfect location and great views out towards the pier from our room. Easy check-in and earlier than other hotels. Would happily stay here again.

It was very central for Eastbourne right at the pier

The room could do with a good scrub-walls had grime on it. The shower in my room didn’t work and couldn’t contact anyone as reception isn’t staffed until 2pm.

The Pier Hotel, is a very pleasant hotel. It's close to Bournmouth Pier, and in easy reach of the town centre. All the staff are helpful and polite. I can recommend the Pier Hotel.

The location was excellent. On entering the property we thought that it was quite lovely. The flooring looked new and the hallways in the property had been freshly painted with new slate grey carpets. Going into the lift, this wasn't very clean and no flooring. The bedroom was a decent size but it would have been nice if the coffee or tea stain had been cleaned from the bedside cabinet. I did this myself. The bedroom needed a full size mirror, a small job but would make a huge difference. The bathroom leaves alot to be desired. The mixer shower coming off the bath taps was like going back in time. Hot then cold then scalding water. Absolutely no consistency of water temperature. Toilet seat moved when we sat on it but clean. Cracked tiles and bath plug and drainage needed a good clean.

Small things like the bedroom mirror, bigger cups for the tea and coffee. A good clean wouldn't go amiss either. Wallpaper peeling off of the walls etc,doesn't look great.

No customer service at all , no bar, no restaurant, no facility to leave your luggage before or after your booking. The lift is very decrepit and frankly it is in an awful state, we climbed the 55 stairs to avoid using it. Our room (305) was on a tilt , beds and furniture also tilted. Felt like we would roll out of bed. However the beds are comfortable. Staffed only 2 - 10pm. Clearly told it was a strict check out by 10. Very weird ‘hotel’.

Kettle was full of dust and have water inside, sign that it hasnt been clean for a long period of time. Poorly maintained Dust is everywhere The room smells bad when we enter

- One key is not enough for a family room of four. - few hair on bed - they kindly changed the sheets after request. - Inconvenient reception opening time 2pm-11pm and the curtains are very dirty

Shower was broken and required some fiddling to get it to work at anything other than scalding hot. shower head was also fixed at an inconvenient angle and couldn't be altered.

Breakfast was not available at the hotel, which was a shame as it should of been included

The shower head holder was broken, the shower didn't stay warm. There was no toilet roll. The rooms were so dirty, stains all over the carpet and there were hairs in the bath. Windows wouldn't stay open and had to wedge open with a hanger.

I would not call it a hotel has they don't do any food If you have a lot of luggage you might find it hard to enter the property has they is a lot of stairs to front door you can't leave any luggage before hand has the front door is locked till 2pm The room i stayed in the main door had a big gap at the bottom due to slopping floor could do with a make over in some areas

The springs on the sofa bed are a little worn, but managed to sleep using duvet on the sofa.

The location was a stone throw away from the pier and the beach. The host Zahiz was most helpful. There is a fridge and a fan in the room which was very good as it was very hot. Seafront room with large windows for nice sea breeze. Shops and restaurants within walking distances. Ample supply of tea. Coffee, milk,sugar, and toiletries to help yourself to in reception area. Chamber maid was very friendly and helpful. Liked it so much that we booked to stay another 2 extra nights. Wi-Fi worked great.

Not for wheelchair users,as there are steps. Lift very small, a bit tight for 2 people and luggages. Lift not working on 1st floor have to go 2nd floor and walk down, I'm not good with steps and stairs ( that's me). It's very, very noisy at night with traffic noises and people talking and shouting, not good if you are a light sleeper. The bed is a bit soft and low. There is only room for one chair, could do with extra chair, not comfortable sitting in bed watching tv.

Listed as a 4 star but it is max 3 star. Wallpaper peeling from the walls, uncomfortable bed and no restaurant. For the price I paid expected more as listed as a 4 star.

The peeling wallpaper, extra small lift and the facilities were old, toilet seat moved, taps had rust.

On the beach excellent price clean & tidy helpful staff only problem was the lift didn't work after a certain time but would definitely recommend

After reading some negative reviews, we were a bit dubious about this place. But was actually very clean an well presented room. location is excellent, right across from pier. reception is unmanned in the even, but this was not an issue. check in was smooth, and guy on reception was polite and helpful

Comfortable quiet clean room. Simple and a little dated but the place is clearly well cared for and no complaints at all for a one night stay at a great value price. Tea, coffee, shower gel etc provided. Staff on site and a friendly welcome.

Perfect location right opposite the pier, everything needed in room and good value for money. Bed very comfy, but noise from people in alleyway below. Had to park in the multi storey car park which was a 10 min walk. Room was adequate but definitely in need of a deep clean. Water pressure not good. Overall good for 1 night but probably wouldn’t stay for any longer

When I went there I got scammed out of £111.16. The manager is a nasty piece of work he was mixed race with a big black beard balding on top and glasses. I have video proof of what happened. I got there for a booking 8th May to 10th May 2026 and the room was disgusting urine stains on the walls peeling wallpaper and lopsided wardrobe and one of the taps on the sink was so loose you could move it around Like a door handle and it could have ripped off at any point which would burst water and floor the bathroom very dangerous the toilet was loudly leaking and broken he refused to fix it said he won’t get an emergency plumber on weekend as it’s too expensive acting like I was someone staying for free in his house. The shower was also broken and damp all over the walls and was a filthy and dirty. I’ve seen streets cleaner than this room. He then offered to refund me but kept swearing at me and guilt tripping me. So I legally recorded him for my own protection while he did the refund knowing he was recording me anyway from the huge tv screen to my left showing his cctv and I could see myself on it in real time. But when he saw I was filming him he went ‘are you filming’ and then he screamed ‘NO REFUND !!!’ Saying to me he refused it just because I was filming but I never told him I was filming he only see that because he was watching me on his own cctv to look at what k was doing on my iPhone to look at what I was doing on my own device is spying and an illegal invasion of privacy I was only filming him not his device or what he was doing on his own device . So he then had the insane logic that he would not refund me just because I filmed evidence of him filming me. He threatened to make up lies to police about me so I left and called police myself and then he went even further and said to booking.com bragging about how many different ways he was filming me. How he was filming me not just on cctv but ring doorbell too and in the very same message he said ‘but won’t refund guest because he was filming’ while bragging about filming me in the same message it’s an insane double standard and the manager is drunk with power he thinks he has he thinks he’s immune tj the law and despite booking.con cancelling my booking for free due to what happened they’ve refused to refund the money for nearly 2 months even though the booking was cancelled for free 2 months ago

Early check out. We are regular couple that use this hotel quite frequently. Im sure management has changed, used to be very attentive staff and was good for room upgrades abitnhalf hearted now.

Well positioned for the beach and pier, just a 30 second walk. The high sreet has every shop you can think off, along with many pubs and cafe is just a 3 minute walk. There is also a very handy tesco express just behind the hotel. Due to the hotels hospitatly, clean rooms good TV choice (for those raining days) and thought to detail i extend my stay.

The hotel is in a good location for town centre and the beach, perfect location not very far to walk to train station.

The property is dated, rundown the room wasn’t very clean, cracked floor tiles in the bathroom and shower that had no pressure. Shower took a long time to get warm and just trickled no pressure at all. Extremely warm in the room no air conditioning just a standard turntable fan. Hotel doesn’t accommodate breakfast due to the bar beneath it being closed for renovation. When I asked about the renovation the receptionist said to me they were making it into a library. Due to the owner being of a different culture and religion the bar was shut down because he didn’t drink alcohol which I thought was bizarre considering it would be the guests using the facilities not the owner. If I’m honest £220 pound for a 2 night stay was not worth the price due to the condition of the room and the services on offer. I won’t be returning to this hotel. Will stick to a Premier inn next time

The room was clean, but the bathroom was a disaster. Dust hung from the fan, the taps were old and had limescale deposits, and the water pressure in the shower was low.

I had a good stay at The Pier Hotel. The location is excellent, just opposite the seafront and only a short walk to Eastbourne Pier, restaurants, and shops. It was very convenient for exploring the area. The room was clean, but the facilities and overall comfort were fairly basic. Everything was functional for a short stay, although the room could benefit from some updates and improved soundproofing. The hotel offers good value for money if you’re looking for a budget-friendly place in a prime location. The staff were pleasant and helpful throughout my stay, making check-in and check-out straightforward. Overall, this is a good choice if your priority is location and affordability rather than luxury. I’d consider staying again for a short visit to Eastbourne.

No aircon although a fan was provided. Only stairs to room. No breakfast provided even though food was mentioned in the description on your site. Building tired and in need of a revamp. Public area was just a small area in reception. No staff available most of the time.

Entry system odd as had to push bell and then wait for someone . Electrics not working in room- had to get trailing socket replaced. Shower gave inconsistent heat and then cold.

Cheap, but not the cheapest... probably not worth it. Staying 1 night for work. The bar under the hotel is permanently closed and the whole building is tired and run down....but clean. Reception only open certain hours and charges for check in after 10pm Receptionist was not able to email me an invoice....unsure why. Front door is locked early (6pm) so need key fob access. Rooms need to be manually locked. No Aircon, but a fan is available. WiFi is decent. Pigeons nesting outside the window and the shower pressure was barely a dribble and not hot....Disappointed. Won't book again as other options for similar price or cheaper

The location

Much of the parking around the hotel is a maximum of 2 hours. That is not a fault of the hotel.

They don't do breakfast. Why don't you know that? Everything very clean . Sheets lovely cotton.

Not Having a disabled entrance to the hotel for those with reduced mobility. Even if it means walking to the back of the building. There are several steep steps up to the entrance. Quite tricky with a stick and a case, but there are railings to hold on to.

The bed mattress was too soft, and the bed was about 3 inches out of level. So felt like you was sleeping with your feet higher than your head.
