Not the best room needs updating a little.

​This hotel exceeded all our expectations. For a very reasonable price, you get a clean, comfortable room with great mattresses, quality pillows, fresh bedding and towels, plus everything needed to make tea and coffee in the room. The location right on the seafront is wonderful. ​The included breakfast was excellent—a standard English breakfast served buffet-style, featuring hash browns, sausages, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, croissants, and toast. There are also muesli, yogurt, jam, Nutella, and fruit (canned, but perfect with muesli), along with unlimited tea and coffee. The breakfast staff were extremely attentive and always on hand to help. ​The reception team was fantastic as well. They kindly explained how to purchase a £2.50 parking permit, allowing us to park right opposite the hotel for two nights for just £2.50. ​We travel a lot around the UK and have stayed in much more expensive hotels, but this one is just as good as places costing twice as much. We can happily recommend it for a short stay!

We have been coming here for over 15 years we had our favourite room and the breakfast is lovely good choice excellent staff So close to the pier and shops Great value for money The reception staff always make you feel welcome as do all the breakfast girls and they are all so helpful

There was smell of damp..in the room..the tv control wasnt working as well..so I was pressing the buttong 20x to get it on or switch it off..left it on all nite once.also scaffolding blocking my view

Modern but also characterful. Close proximity to the shore and to an excellent promenade for walking or running or just sitting on a bench in the sunshine. Also very close to the beautiful Pier.

There was nothing that I didn’t like about the property. It was very well maintained and the decor was very interesting.

nice room with a sea view. bath was a bit small but functional. bed was comfy.

breakfast was a complete let down. i went to breakfast at.8.15. there was a queue waiting to enter. I waited there for 10 mins. still in the queue. I noticed there were people just sat chatting after having their breakfast looking at us. Surely when they have finished and they can see a queue is waiting to have theirs, they should have the decency to vacate the restaurant. I revisited at 8.45, 15 mins before it closed. I went to the breakfast buffet area. The food didnt look very nice. The bacon was in a tray with what looked like fat, the sausages were grey and looked uncooked, the tomatoes were burnt to a crisp, no hash browns. I had to ask for the beasns to be replaced. Sadly I declined breakfast on this occasion as its appearance was not very appetising.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful, location was excellent. Had a lovely sea view, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Coffee in the room and at breakfast was not good.

I've stayed in the past in sea view rooms on the upper floors which I always found comfortable and quiet. This room was in good condition, comfortable and clean. The staff were helpful and polite.

I booked two nights but left on the second day due to disturbance at night. The room was at the back of the hotel, the closed window didn't block out the loud boy on his motorbike at all hours on the road outside!! The guests upstairs were walking around a lot and the floor boards were creaky! This was all noisier than my own home so it wasn't a restful stay or a comfortable break for me. I also heard a male voice for hours throughout the night who sounded in distress. This was very stressful for me.. If I stay again I'll book a sea view room at the top ! I missed the all inclusive breakfast as I didn't get much sleep and couldn't get out of bed in time!

Rooms and hallways smelt really really weird! Like charity shop/ old people. everything was dated. scafdholding obscured sea view. Everything is tired. Breakfast - I ate because it was there but everything was bulk/ from frozen/ tinned.ai get it was 3 star so wasn’t expecting 5 star from the place but the smell just was revolting .

The location and staff

As a family we were placed in a room beside overseas students who were staying there. . Some of the students constantly ran shouting up and down the halls, partying and slamming doors. We asked them many times to be quiet, the staff were called and they tried to deal with them but to no avail. When we complained the next morning we were moved to a quieter part of the hotel, but felt that we originally should have been put in those rooms. As that was not the first night the students had been causing trouble.

The location! Staff was friendly.

Breakfast could have been better, it wasn't the cleanest, the shower was quite small - good water pressure though!

Very hard bed and pillows. Sea view limited because the balcony is not safe and so unusable. Also, the big window couldn’t be opened because of the balcony. Top window could be opened but for me not enough air coming through.

Pillows were flimsy. Carpets throughout quite dingy and thread bare . Windows were very dirty difficult to enjoy sea view. decor dated. Had to ask for more towels. Breakfast was limited, bacon and sausages were swimming in grease, hash browns were cold . Although we requested and got fresh eggs. No fresh fruit

Breakfast could of done with some scrabbled egg instead of just fried eggs. Also fresh fruit salad instead of tinned fruit salad. Also croissants everyday except just on a Saturday and Sunday. Carpets on stairs threadbare and dirty. Looked as though it hadn't been hoovered in ages. Nasty spiteful member of staff serving hot drinks etc. : On the 1st morning I was served coffee in a cup and saucer. 2nd morning even though I asked for a mug of coffee the same member of staff severed me a coffee in a cup and saucer. I pointed out that I had asked for a mug of coffee and although she offered to change it I declined as I don't like wastage. But she mutter "there's plenty of coffee "as she walked away and said something in her native tongue( Eastern European). The 3rd day she wasn't there and the member of staff served my coffee in a mug. The next day(4th day)the member of staff was back . I asked for a coffee in a mug to which she turned to the member of staff besides her and said " This lady doesn't like her coffee in a cup she wants it in a mug" The tone of her voice wasn't pleasant. I duly had my coffee served in a mug for the next 2 days. I don't understand what the issue was as EVERYBODY ELSE was served their hot drinks in mugs without asking. I didn't see anyone else being served their hot drinks in a cup and saucer. It was a very unpleasant experience and spoiled my stay at the hotel.

Wonderful sea view, really good location, room size, cleanliness, bathroom, facilities, staff efficiency and friendliness.

Basic breakfast quality and options. Bed was on free-running castors, so the slightest movement or sitting on the bed and it slides away from the wall. Apart from that, it was a lovely comfy mattress.

The only good thing about this place is its location, which is directly opposite the seafront. Okay, the staff were nice, which was good.

There was scaffolding all across the front of the buildling. Mine was okay, I felt reallys sorry for those who did. The canopy over the front door is not what online images show (unless they are new). It's a rusty, metal black monstrosity which looks like it'll fall on your head when you walk through. The decor is so warn and outdated, the carpets are threadbear and it looks like it hasn't been updated since 1970. There are multiple doors before you get to your room which you have to navigate with suitcases which is not ideal. The room was quite a decent size, but there were stains on the shelves for clothes, no drawers but plenty of space for them. There was a giant sofa bed which would not close properly which you could not sit on as it was permanently leaning forward where it could not shut down properly. I had a nice sea view, but the window was too small for the room which made it dark and depressing. mis-matched decor looked drab. One of the plug sockets was hanging out next to the bed. The door to the room wasn't very secure, it could easily be pushed open with next to no effort. I didn't feel particularly safe sleeping there. There was a plastic thing which you could keep the door handle pinned upwards, but again the door was so flimsy it wasn't really that helpful. The 'breakfast' - eurgh, the bacon was okay ish, but the eggs weren't, they were fried and rock solid from being under the heat lamp. I asked for scrambled eggs, i couldn't really describe what I actually got, they were probably eggs but they'd just been nuked in the microwave for a few mins and were tasteless and almost unidentifiable. The toast was disgusting, some really narly, plain brown bread and a giant serving of margerine, around 5 desert spoons. The dining room was boiling, no air con. Supposed to be dog friendly, yet I was asked to sit out in the reception hallway for breakfast with my very small dog!!

Windows are filthy, don't pay for a Seaview, you wont see it through the Windows. Dog owners have a tiny space outside of the dining room.⁶y

Staff extremely polite and friendly answered all questions and had excellent local knowledge which was a bonus. The breakfast was great as well and the staff were very considerate and polite. Location of both our rooms were perfect

The toilet door did not have a lock and the soap dispenser in the shower did not have any soap.

Double bed was just two twins pushed together and they moved easily so didn't stay together completely.

The location was excellent right on the beachfront and easy access to all amenities. The staff on reception were helpful and friendly also the restaurant staff were pleasant.

The shower was very small like being in a tardis, the sea view window was small though! The room was a bit basic compared too photo on website.

Great location, right on the seafront, walking distance to shops and pier. Breakfast was sufficient. Room was a good size with a decent sea view. Having a full length mirror always a bonus!

Windows were very dirty but didn't spoil our view. Hotel overall a little dated could do with a few touch ups.

Closer to the beach and city center

Room was well situated at the front of the hotel looking over the beach and sea. I was expecting a basic hotel for the price but was very pleasantly surprised by the high standards throughout. Well decorated and nicely furnished throughout. Lovely staff.

Understandably the doors leading onto the sea facing balcony in my room were sealed for safety reasons as there was a low balcony wall. Breakfast seemed a little disorganised with limited and differing selection of choices over the two days. The bar wasn't open.

Location great..only a short walk to the town centre with lots shops and right opposite the seafront.Found a parkibg space easily and staff explained that buying a permit for 2.50 was available.Spacious room.Breakfast plentiful .staff happily obliged when we asked for toast asvit wasnt readily available.

Front of hotel is tired and needs attention. My partner complained of the sausage colour (grey) but as we had the free breakfast we cant really complain as plenty of other things to eat along with cereals.

It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room, unfortunately it was a windy night and a draft under the hallway doors created a rumbling wining noise making sleeping difficult

The hotel is situated in the beachfront. I had a clean and spacious room with a slight sea view. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Also, there were some choices for breakfast.

One of the towels had some holes in it, but it was clean.

Sea view room - only single glazed window - so very noisy Room shabby , carpet grubby, poor quality pillows. Electric fan very dirty - unable to use it. Poor quality food at breakfast.

Breakfast was decent for the price. Room very comfortable Bedding was clean and location to the beach was fantastic. Check in was also simple and offered late check in which was a requirement of mine.

Alittle outdated. The top floor was Alittle strange as none or a few of the lights worked so it had a haunted house feeling. Bathroom shower just needs a newer shower head and lastly breakfast coffee was just instant . Would have been better to have a proper latte without a price increase

You could not see out of the windows because they were dirty, The room was quite noisy and there was a dripping overflow all; night long, Bath plug did not fit and the light was faulty in the lobby opposite our room which made it very dark getting out of the lift.

Perfect location

The restaurant food was not nice. The staff in there have hair hanging out all over the food. A long hair was in the butter. This put us off eating breakfast there so we ate out instead. The carpets are dirty and should be replaced with flooring that would be more manageable to keep clean.
