Check in and hotel was good. The hotel had been updated but more maintenance and updating is needed, It had a comfortable lounge and the rooms were nice
The breakfast was very limited and one got the impression that people preferred to go elsewhere. We took hotel breakfast the first day but didn't repeat that for our extra night.
Only thing that good I say is that it was close to the Beach/peir and the lady at the desk was polite
Ermm the noise at night like doors outside your room was making creek noise or like you front door keeps opening and you can hear some ppl outside and in so wall are abit thin also the room was very warm day and night they give you get a small fan that was very dusty/dirty and not very powerful the bed felt like it was gonna break even if you sit on it and the pillows was thin plus the duvet had some stains on it aswell plus windows very small to let air in so not worth the price say needs some updated things in there and some life inside and outside the hotel just seems like not bothered as much in the rooms
Location
Location is nice
stage of this hotel is like in council flat lol. Beds is uncomfortable and very small
Charming young lady Receptionist,very helpful
Not many facilities
It was very good value for a clean ensuite room. Its location on the sea front was ideal for me. It's also very close to many shops and restaurants.
my room was simple, but it was clean, comfy bed and the shower was super hot - excellent!! great value for what i paid.
Friendly helpful staff
Bathroom quite cramped.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, great location.
Room was tiny but think I expected it.
Perfect location for an overnight stop before taking the morning ferry from Newhaven. Great that they had a single room. Excellent value for money for solo travelling.
All was as I had hoped.
The hotel was lovely and the receptionist natalia, was so helpful so polite she made our stay happy lovely polite lady Thanks.
Everything was fine.
Nice, clean, perfect location, love the view
The location
I am extremely disappointed with our recent stay. We had originally booked the wrong month for another hotel, so unfortunately had very limited options and this was the only hotel we could find for just under £100 per night. Based on the advertisement, we expected it to be of a decent standard. Unfortunately, the room was extremely small and the overall cleanliness was poor. The shower was so small that I could barely stand properly and had to bend down just to wash my hair. We also found some of the reception staff very rude and unwelcoming. One lady was lovely, but others questioned whether we were even staying at the hotel and ignored us when we went out of our way to say hello. We chose not to complain during our stay because we simply could not afford to move to another hotel. We therefore had no choice but to stay and make our complaint afterwards. For almost £100 a night, we feel the hotel was very disappointing and did not match what was advertised. We would appreciate this being looked into and would like appropriate compensation for our experience.
Excellent location and helpful service. Strongly recommend this place for a holiday weekend in Eastbourne.
Great location, comfortable room and friendly helpful staff.
Nice hotel very close to the pier , shops and restaurants . Everything is in walking distance . We only had the budget room because that was the only room left over the bank holiday weekend , it was a bit small but had everything that was needed . We received excellent customer service from Natela on the reception desk , nothing was too much trouble and explained well . Overall a lovely stay
Bed was a bit creaky
Your Reception Professionalism
All well
Great location, near the pier and great walking distance from all the highlights of Eastbourne
Uncomfortable bed. It was hard as a rock and I didn't sleep much
It's a good value hotel. Does all the basics properly and is right beside the beach, not too far a walk from the centre of town. A nice bright room, though small. If you don't plan to spend long in the room then it's a great option.
It didn't do anything more than the basics, really. The bed could have been a little comfier, probably, but I slept fine. The TV in the room didn't work.
A great location, on sea front and near the pier. The hotel had a lovely lounge area, which was very quiet. The staff were very helpful. We enjoyed a drink in the evening on the little terrace at the front of the hotel.
Breakfast time was a little early for my elderly mother.
good quality and promp service
All at the hotel was good

Clean rooms, very important for people with allergies.
Please switch to a non fragrant washing powder, more and more people have allergies towards man-made chemicals, they are proven to be harmful. :)
Perfect location
2 tea bags, no coffee milk etc. towels mismatched but clean. Basically comfy bed. Very basic room. Staff were pleasant enough, no prizes for feeling welcomed. But nothing bad to say about them.
Lovely, spacious sea view room. Fridge. Clean. Receptionists lovely. Enjoyed being served breakfast as apposed to a buffet.
Not enough sockets in the room for a family of three with phones to charge. 4 sockets, 3 taken up by TV, fridge and much-needed fan. USB points would be helpful
Good location. Breakfast was served quickly and generally ok.
Staff seemed disinterested and room decor in need of overhaul. In no way affected our stay and perfect for an overnight stop. Be aware of the late locking. Night staff have to let you in.
Location
No cafe facility open on arrival mid day, had to go out for coffee and sandwich
Norhing disliked. Average
Nothing particularly. Average.
Great location, room basic clean and comfortable. Nice to have a pleasant reception area with a bar to chill in .
What's not to like? Great value, nice and clean and great location
Couldn't fault anything
Good location
Rooms very small stuffy and hot. Shower room very dirty. Breakfast was cold Very expensive Was booked as bed including breakfast Had to pay extra.
We booked this hotel on booking.Com as bed and breakfast. We arrived friendly receptionist. Was then told breakfast was not included was another £12 per person we asked was she sure as we booked hotel with breakfast, another couple waiting thought the same. We paid for 2 breakfast so with the hotel room was £299. For 2 nights. Room was tiny, and so hot. the shower cubicle was so small when you had a shower lost count how many time I knocked the lever with my elbow. I am a small person my husband struggled. The Bar man that evening was absolutely useless was on his phone loud speaker trying to serve us and talk at the same time. my husband had to walk away On reading there welcome folder it said you can request for a fan. They had none. We had to close the window because of the noise from the pub and sports bar that’s not that far away. Very noisy. So we had very little sleep. In the morning we went for breakfast. Picture showed two egg 2 sausage 2 hash browns beans mushrooms, Child’s one was 1 of each item. So we started with Elpen the waitress brought this out and cheap orange juice. Then breakfast came which was 1 egg 2 bacon 2 hash browns, beans, warmed up slimy mushroom, 1 chipolata sausage and a slice of the thinnest toast. we had just started the Alpen so time we finished that breakfast had gone cold. Bacon had a funny taste and was like shoe leather. Waitress asked if everything is ok I said it’s not the best. Nothing else said. That evening we went went back I asked for a fan again yet again there wasn’t one. I said could I get a refund as I’m not staying another night in that room so stuffy and just so hot. Her answer was she can’t I have to wait for the manager in the morning. So my husband said it’s only one more night. Yet again no sleep people above moving around he was being sick so we left early hours in the morning and drove home.
Good location and easy reach of the beach 🏖️ and the town centre which is a very nice place to go and visit.
Not much really.
they'd put a fan in my room which was a lovely gesture as it was a very hot 2 days in Eastbourne. Got there one hour before check in time & my room was ready which I was very grateful for.
Didn't try the breakfast but it looked popular. They didn't do an evening meal which, I guess was understandable as there were loads of places to eat out in Eastbourne.
It was clean and comfortable
Small hot room, poor evening bar service and the breakfast was over priced and warm.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, good location, WiFi available. Parking permits available for £2.50 for 24 hours.
Trouble with keycard getting in to the door to get to my room, it took multiple atempts ! No view, no fan, only duet, not enough towels for 2 people. Tv didn’t work. Ok for a few nights.
Location and friendliness of receptionist, she was extremely polite and helpful
I know it was a budget room, but room 246 was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in
Decent sized room, clean and perfect for a night's stay.
Bit dated, but to be expected.
Camera e bagno molto piccoli
I didn’t have it!
Parking was a nightmare and the rooms were dated. However, I was only staying for work so I had everything I needed
Hotel vieillissant....
Excellent team, friendly and available. I often stop here and am a frequent client.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful, providing a map of the area, there were also lots of tourist leaflets for those wanting to go further afield. There was a small lift if needed. The room was clean and a lovely size with good views of the sea. Tea and coffee making facilities which was replenished daily. Also had clean towels daily. Breakfast was okay with a few choices cooked to order. The bed was comfortable and spare pillows in the wardrobe. The hotel was approx 10 mins walk from the pier and the town. Lots to do in the area including the land train and open top bus to Beachy Head.
Breakfast choices were ok but It would be good to have a healthier choice breakfast eg. Fresh berries and greek yoghurt and granola. Sweeteners with refreshments in the room would be good. The shower head wasn't very high and couldn't be moved. Ok for me but not for a taller person. One night was very noisy from people at the adjoining hotel but otherwise it was okay.
Maybe the breakfast could be slightly better
Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Great location. BUT very basic room with most uncomfortable bed on metal springs that squealed at slightest movement. Curtain didn’t fit window. TV didn’t work. No AC. Generally very dated needing big update.
Breakfast was very nice and very nice.
Tv in our room wasn’t very good 138. Room very hot could do with air conditioning.
Great location, clean, lovely helpful friendly staff. Organised.
Bedding and linen very old, everything felt very used. The rooms were stiflingly hot, not enough plug sockets.
had a family room clean very big had sea view and it had a little fridge in it the staff was freindly see the manager of hotel all the time he was poilte and there for anything needed somebody there 24 hours on desk all staff went out there way to help defo be booking to stay there again my 11 year old grandson love it and wants to go back
loved eveything about it
Restaurant and menu is small but perfectly acceptable, and the service was friendly and good throughout. Room was actually nicer than I’d expected, very clean and the bed very comfortable. Shower/toilet facilities all worked perfectly.
Honestly I don’t really have any major complaints.. the tv in the room was small and it would have nice to have access to some bottled water, but that’s about it.
The room was very noisy. On checkin asked about room noise was told it wasn’t noisy. The room was beside the road and was very noisy Asked to change was told hotel was fully booked. Desk clerk lied clearly
The location of the hotel was great but it was extremely noisy at night time
The noise at night was awful and we were unable to get back in the hotel at 10pm as there were no staff manning the door so were stuck outside for over 10 minutes and when he eventually opened the door there wasn't even an apology.
Lovely hotel nice stuff
Think it could do with a bit of updating specially the bathroom and the beds
Comfortable and clean room, but we were on the back of the property, it was hot weather ,there was no fan (you could hire one from the hotel) so we had windows open but being opposite a pub it wasn't quiet
Not having a fan, unless you paid for one
Great location, excellent breakfast… Awful hotel and horrible service, the only redeeming feature was the breakfast and the young waitress serving it. Hotel dark and dingy, in bad need of repairs, beds uncomfortable, noisey
I stedet for at lade os blive siddende, mens hun ryddet op.
Locatie
Afzuiginstallatie keuken? Maakt s’ochtends wel wat kabaal
The location, however parking aywher in Eastbourne is a nightmare.
Very poor limited menu. The DWS was archaic, had to run water for ages to get hot water. There was no mixer for the shower. The bedroom was dilapidated. In fact there was no sign of maintenance for the last 30 years. Window frames falling apart.
Position near to beach
No fridge / water / shower gel
Great location, close to the beach, nice to see housekeeper smiley & friendly. Room was very tidy and clean.
This might not be a hotel fault - but the random group of mature women who booked many rooms on the same floor were very noisy on my stay. My room was next to theirs. Constant slamming the doors - early morning/after midnights - from visiting each other's rooms? Loud TV in their rooms (as a background?) and loud chatting - some hotel guests are ignorant to other hotel guests... or perhaps paper thin walls...?
Very comfy beds, great water pressure in the shower and excellent location. Staff were helpful, and it was overall clean and pleasant.
Decor is a little outdated.
The staff were friendly and accommodated to my needs.
Bed was a little bit uncomfortable
Sea view. Convenient location for the Pier, buses and bars/restaurants.
There were no shelves in the bathroom. There were no drawers in the bedroom. Breakfast at £12 was a bit mean, in that you could only choose one option, e.g. either croissants and jam or a cooked breakfast.. Personally, I like a small cooked breakfast (scarmbled eggs and bacon) and a croissant. Or cereal, followed by a small cooked breakfast. In addition, I didn't see any fresh fruit.
The location of course is excellent. Overlooking the beach and round the corner from a lovely pub. The room was very comfortable with sea views on the first floor. The beds were really comfy, got a great nights sleep.
The breakfast was a bit expensive for what I ate. I think it would be better to have reasonable individual prices for each item on the menu for light eaters, however the selection was really good.
Location staff were really friendly room very clean breakfast lovely..parking good
Na
Friendly staff
No car park
Everything,sea view lounge
Sea view...nice scrambled egg breakfast,Location
perfect location , miles away to park
room dated
Good location next to the beach
3 big windows and no AC meant the heat comes in in the mornings, even with the curtains shut. Maybe they need curtains that will do a better job at keeping the room cool, or a window that opens all the way rather than a tiny bit at the bottom. Also the shower shield isn’t big enough and a few other things if I’m being picky but overall the room is fine, clean etc. I’m sure it would be nice if there wasn’t a heatwave but because it’s the sea view room with big windows it gets really hot, and we didn’t look much out the window because we kept the curtains shut.
Great location on seafront. Good parking options for reasonable fee £2:50
Confusing layout to find room. Room was comfortable with basic furnishings Bathroom needed some TLC
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and so was the bathroom. Shampoo and soap were provided. The hotel’s location is great — it is right in front of the seafront and the pier. You can walk around and enjoy beautiful views and charming streets. Shops and restaurants are also nearby.
The water pressure in the shower was quite weak.
Friendly staff
Hotel facilities very tired. Family room a t make shift night stands with sharp edges of sawed off metal.
Location and staff
No fridge while room describes as if there is one. We had a cooler but that was a toy size and just about to fit no more than 2 cans of coke- thst was a joke.
Location
Tired
Location was good
Bedroom very small and bed extremely uncomfortable for me and consequently I hardly had any sleep over the three nights I stayed
Location and value for money
Tired
Fantastic location. On beach, short walk into town and brilliant pub nearby
No air con. Had to open window as room was so hot. Was kept awake all night by traffic noise.
The hotel is ideally located on the seafront and close to the pier. Great open foyer which was used to host an event during the our stay. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
We booked a 4 night stay last week of June 2026. The receptionist were good and offered help when required. Our standard double room was not comfortable to stay in. The room had not being aired before our booking. Bedside light not working from day one. Power points were not well placed. Only one bedside table and a shelf/table under the TV. Very untidy as everything was place on this shelve/table. Bathroom not very desirable. No place to place items used when showering or having a bath. The room needs refurbishing very urgently. For me, breakfast was a nightmare. The breakfast served and the choices on offer was very poor for me. I cannot comment for others about rooms and experience, but at more than £100 per night, I will not be going back. Good thing is that Eastbourne is really nice. The big Hotel brands will be my first choice from here on.
In a good position, staff were very helpful and friendly.
My second stay at the Riviera Hotel and both were excellent. The single room was quite small but it was very clean and in good condition. Check in/out staff friendly and helpful, left my bag in a secure room on check out for a few hours around Eastbourne, also a very good location close to the pier and beach opposite. Good value would definitely stay again.
Nothing
The staff is very friendly and helpful, they have room available and checked us in early when they saw we were with the baby. All explained very well on check in, really nice people. Facilities are not new and quite basic but they are very clean and I guess for us it's more important than modern furniture and etc.
It's not that we didn't like it just something to.keep in mind , the bathroom is a bit old and maybe needs refreshing, but all taps are working very well and it's clean.
Spacious room
Lack of fresh air, small windows only opened, curtains not adequate, early breakfast slot
Very clean, friendly staff and good advice with car parking.
Nothing
My single room was rather basic … but acceptable and the hotel location is good, on the seafront … the staff were friendly and helpful
It was noisy … I realised the previous time I stayed here I had a room at the back of the hotel, whereas this time it was at the front so very noisy road from 5am… windows could be improved to enable one to shut out outside noise
The location was very good. The staff were always very helpful.
The room was basic. We stayed in a triple room . 2 single beds one double. I found my bed just OK. Television did not have the basic channels ie bbc 1 bbc 2 utv. A lot of rubbish channels.
The position of the hotel was great. Right on the seafront, walking distance from the pier and pedestrianised shopping area. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel was rather dated and needed some extra attention in places. Beds were quite small.
On the seafront
Really old fashioned room & bathroom. Need an update
Close to everything Staff were very good
Room was very hot and only had a small fan Not enough sockets to plug everything in
Single room - nice and quiet. Met my needs.
Cooked breakfast good. Limited cold selection.
Fantastic seafront location.
Parking was difficult. We had to drive around d for a while to find a space.
Third time staying at The Riviera ideal location and price for the time I was in Eastbourne.
Receptionist are very friendly and helpful
