Location (for the boat show)

Room was extremely small, especially considering we had a dog with us (which we paid extra for). Beds were very small and uncomfortable to sleep in. The bath was tiny, it would have been better not to have a bath but a decent walk-in shower. Cost of the room for one night at £242 plus £12 for our dog and and £12 for parking was far too much for the quality of your offering. Breakfast food was warm, not hot.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Wi-fi was available and everything was clean.

The bathroom was a bit old-fashioned and the hand towel was missing, but overall it was comfortable and very clean.

Location very central and the fact that we could have di ner also was convenient

There should be "normal" qrooms with only showers as some of us older people cannot get into the baths.

Although an accessible room, there was very little room between the bed & the wall on one side and not enough room for a wheelchair the other side. Fortunately I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user or we would have been stuck.

The staff and location

The wood chip, the 3 different styles of furniture in the room. The ceiling bevelled above bath, the rusty taps and mold in bathroom. The drinks are costly like a higher rate hotel. Room like a budget b&b without breakfast. I work in the travel industry- experienced many hotels and standards and it was poor very poor. Staff ok but not amazing. Wouldn't stay again

The breakfast was very good, and the hotel’s location was excellent. It is close to the bus terminal, train station, and West quay Shopping Centre. There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance, which makes the location very convenient.

The furniture in the bedroom was a little outdated and could use some TLC. Updating or refurbishing the furniture would improve the overall appearance and comfort of the room.

The hotel was situated very close the the city centre and the route to get there was very easy to access ..we booked a twin room and found the beds extremely comfortable we enjoyed a good nights sleep and found the room a good size with a good selection of tv channels as we were staying the night ready to join a cruise it was very relaxing ..the bathroom was also a good size with a bath and shower above plenty of hot water with good pressure to the shower .We didn’t use the restaurant but saying that the food looked very good nothing left in breakfast plates always a good sign ..The staff were excellent at reception nothing too much trouble ..Great stay for the price .Would certainly recommend .

Perfect location for a cruise from Horizon Terminal.

The desk tops looked as though they had been gnawed by beavers on the edges. The shower pressure was very poor.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Absolutely lovely. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Great location for overnight stays before a cruise.

We have stayed several times but the complex needs some maintenance. Outside, the paint is getting old. Our room had ugly black blotches in the shower grout and silicone. The desk edge was all splintered and there were large cracks in the wall. Disappointing to see it come under disrepair.

Very little sleep doors opening and closing all night with constant talking not sure if it were staff I noticed I was next to a linen cleaning cupboard on the first floor room 109 lots of linen bags piled up on the window seal that was the only issue couldn't sleep because of noise.

The evening menu in the restaurant, the food quality, was expensive and unacceptable.

Breakfast was not included but we had the choice of continental or full English breakfast which were both good options. The staff were helpful with directions and booking a cab to the cruise port for us. We were able to walk to all the sites we wanted to see and the hotel is close to the cruise terminal so the location was great. Also close to shopping, a pharmacy, fast food and a restaurant.

The room was very warm with only a fan and quite small.

The fact that I had booked a spacers room and on arrival was told I didn't look like I needed it due to not being disabled and was given what I would consider a very small room not what I would have expected for the money I paid and would not be booking again!!

I thought the location was very good because it was in Joaquin distance to Southampton Central train station. It is very close to a large mall. And there are also restaurants close by.

The bed was very uncomfortable. It was quite hard. The pillows were also very flat and stiff. They could not be puffed up at all. They were like a rectangle block. The room was quite warm, even with the air conditioner, running almost all the time and a portable fan going.

We stayed at this hotel for just the one night before our cruise. We arrived at lunchtime and thought we were just going to be able to park our car and go for a walk around the shops until our check-in time, but to our surprise we were able to access our room straight away. Brilliant! The staff were all lovely. Enjoyed a good meal and drinks in the restaurant at the hotel. No need to go anywhere to find somewhere to eat. The prices are fair with decent size portions. Our room was clean and comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee and milk. The location is perfect for the ports, literally a few minutes away. Would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

The room was run down and scruffy. Mould and rust in the bathroom. NO AIRCON, just a small fan which made it uncomfortably hot. The room was small with little space to the side of the bed. The mattress did not fully cover the bed base and I caught my leg on the sharp corner of the rigid bed base. The staff kindly provided dressings and bandage to stem the flow of blood.

Bon ca ne vaut pas la qualité d’autres hotels mais on le savait c’est du Ibis .. beaucoup de va et vient et qualite ordinaire … attention la clim des chambres est tres faible et pas de frigo dans les chambres on est sur du « minimum syndical » en équipement !

The hotel is ideally placed for the town centre, West Quay shopping mall, IKEA and cruise terminals and there’s plenty of parking.

Needed a bit of a refurb. Shower over bath so it would be tricky for some people to get in and out. Taps were corroded. Wood chip wallpaper, very dated.

The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. They were very accommodating to our dog.

The best part of this hotel is the staff who went out of their way to accommodate guests. The crew on the front desk also took care of the bar and food service and clean up. Rooms were clean.

This is a very basic hotel with no amenities like a phone in the room. The room was very, very small with little space for anything. There was no ac which was not suprising, but the windows only opened an inch or so. The fan was noisy and inadequate. So the room was very warm. Meanwhile, the ac was on in full blast the restaurant. So we stayed there as late as we could. Hotel just over priced. Not worth it.

We stayed at ibis Southampton for one night prior to the MSC cruise where we go in the Yacht Club on the MSC cruise on the next day. Great Location, very short walk, just across from train station that we liked. Friendly staff, fast check in/out. Room is small, very basic but clean. No USB power outlets, we brought our own adapter which fits UK. Basic English breakfast but enough. Lobby was clean with a few chairs. Faye was friendly, she called a taxi for us to the Horizon cruise terminal. Short distance for taxi ride which cost 15 pounds for a taxi van. I didn't expect much for the price I paid. It is okay to stay one night before/after the cruise. Overall we had a pleasant stay. hopefully we come back to this hotel sometime in the future and hopefully we come back to this hotel in the ibis in September 2027 next year.

Easy progress and you get what you pay for

Breakfast needs attention, pretty poor layout, selection only w&b toast, hard boiled eggs stone cold and blue inside,same cold cuts are uncovered and dry ,fruits poor selection, with a bit of extra attention it would look better, no point having 4 bowl of cereal.on display but 2 filled with the same, banana black and mushy, 2 jams poorly displayed and not sufficient when busy like Saturday 8.aug.I do know ibis is about rooms and f &b is not the focus,but this breakfast is a bit to slack and neglected

Downstairs dining and staff were great. Up in our room it was so hot we could barely stand it. We did not expect the air conditioning to be shut down intentionally for the whole summer as were 2 other hotels we stayed at. They did give us a fan and we opened windows in the evening.

The hotel is located centrally to both the train station, port and local restaurants. We stayed for one night prior to travelling on the QM2. What makes this hotel even more concerning is that it is not the “budget” version (which is located beside it) - I really do shudder to think what the ‘ibis budget’ is like! First impressions: relatively clean and modern in the reception area, although there were signs of poor maintenance. The check in staff were alright although nothing stands out. The room: located on the first floor, we had room 129. The room was stiflingly hot. There was a unit which appeared to be a very old air conditioning unit - it didn’t work. Fans were provided, although as you’ll be aware, all they do is move hot air rather than cool it. The room was 29*c. The room itself was clean and well sized, although it was dated, didn’t have a fridge or telephone and had limited power sockets. The windows were fitted with restrictors which meant that they couldn’t be opened in a meaningful way at night to cool the room down. If there was WiFi, we didn’t see it or use it. Don’t even start me on how awful the pillows were. The bed was equipped with a mattress protector which was clean. You can see for yourself the state of some of the room fixtures such as the mixer tap, amateurish looking repairs and mold. (See my attached photos) Dinner: we didn’t eat in the hotel, preferring to go to the excellent Tapas nearby (La Regatta) although the option for dinner is there. We were told it is a limited menu. TGIF and McDonald’s are directly beside the hotel, which are probably safer options!! Breakfast: this is a basic offering; think limited continental and English fry buffet. The food itself was actually quite good. Our room cards stopped working at 11:15 despite checkout being 12:00. This was quickly fixed after an irritating trip back to reception (there’s only one lift!) I don’t even remember what we paid for the night. I don’t think it was much but whatever it was, the hotel wasn’t worth it. I’ll let the review speak for itself. Could I recommend here? Nope. Never again. We ended up sailing from the QEII terminal, so had to get a taxi anyway. There are better hotels in Southampton.
